Ngitoza was a bit disappointed by the letter as he hoped the RNLA would recognize the RNLA-MA is in a better position, having more allies, the control of the capital city, the main airport and most of the modern infrastructure.

From: General Ngitoza, RNLA-MA
To: General Asande, RNLA

General Asande it is not in our desire to either split the country or keep the war going, but we can't re-establish full trust in a matter of seconds and you know very well Beno Bridge is very strategic.
Nevertheless we offer you a second chance, we propose to make Beno Bridge the symbol of the first steps toward peace and to create a joint-patrol of it by the native forces RNLA and RNLA-MA.
This is the last chance, i'm keen to work with you on the establishment of a united and democratic nation but if you'd rather burn bridges it's not a problem for us, we'd march through the fire and reach victory, which is awaiting us.

To: Ngitoza

I am sorry Colonel, the condition that the RNLA-MA withdrawing south of Beno river is not negotiable. Once they have moved south, we can set up joint patrol.

Colonel Zhukov stood motionless as he was reading the events of the past few days. The general death brought a lot of uncertainty to his position. His position was made easier with the arrival of 12 SU 34 ground attack aircraft and 8 more SU 37 terminators. He began making plans for bombing runs north of the Beno River. In the same time he ordered his air superiority fighters to start enforcing a no fly zone to aircraft not supporting the RNLA-MA 20 km north of the Beno River. he sent an envoy to ask colonel Ngitoza to come to his command plane in order to discuss the situation.

As the envoy left to talk with the colonel 4 SU 37 were taking off towards their designated patrol areas.

Colonel Zhukov also ordered his troops to be on higher alert then normal just in case someone tries to force them to give up their much more modern equipment.

General Ngitoza was mad at RNLA's response to his proposal and as an act of retailation he fired multiple mortars towards the villages over the Beno river in the west of the country, hundreds of miles away from the main bridge scenario.
Of the 1.200 newly recruited troops, 800 were sent to the west and 400 south of Beno bridge.

Ngitoza then proceeds to inform North Desrenkov's colonel Zhukov through a letter.
From Gen. Ngitoza
To Col. Zhukov

Colonel Zhukov,
We acknowledge that the latest events might have taken you by surprise but general Mbutelezi definitely betrayed the principles of our organization and of our people.
We consider your help still necessary and i was about to ask for your forces to cease confrontational operations as we were seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict but that's not the case, the RNLA and their allies are not as interested, and so why should we given the superiority your presence gives us in military terms?
You're free to fly 40km over the line of control from now on.
I'm here if you need any sort of clarification concerning the latest events.

Travencore has issued a general warning that any planes crossing to the north of Beno river will be shot down. The day before, 2 Travencore TAL-30 warplanes (a variant of Mikoyan MiG-35) joined the squadron of the other warplanes at Muleni airbase. A transport aircraft brought in two artillery pieces, both of which were sent to the frontline near Beno City.

The three artillery units located near Beno City started shelling positions of RNLA-MA troops at Mazabunga village along with mortar shelling at frontline troop positions defending the road towards Mazabunga. A batch of new recruits, 200 in number passed out from the Ndetelezi Military Academy, all of whom have been transferred to Beno City. Soon , the soldiers deployed in Beno City will get the orders to advance into Mazabunga village and capture the Beno Bridge.

Numbers:

RNLA soldiers at Beno City and its outskirts : 970
Local Volunteers trained by RNLA : 50
Artillery: 3

Warplanes at Muleni airbase:

X-25 : 5
X-32 : 2
TAL-30 : 2

Mazabuga village
April 15th 10:45 am

The 400 new recruits are added to the 1.000 troops in Mazabuga.
500 remain in Mazabuga, armed with RPGs and AK-47, 4 T-64 MBT and two self-propelled howitzers.

While 900 troops take a secondary road and take over Sherunga village, 18 km from Beno City, firing mortars and marching with 4 T-64 MBT.
There's an exchange of fire of around 2 hours but the remaining RNLA troops surrender because of the encirclement.

The troops now need air support in order to maintain their positions as the shelling from Beno City is heavy.

Beno Bridge
At the same time troops from the southern barracks, around 2.500 pile up on the Beno bridge with an extensive number of RPG-7 and mortars available.
They have orders to not move from there and they have positioned heavy rocks and buses in front of the Bridge, making it harder for the troops in Mazabuga and Sherunga to retreat in case of defeat.

Western campaign
The troops take over 3 villages given that the RNLA has disengaged, but each village is kept by 150 soldiers each as the remaining ones are on march towards the east, where the situation seems tense.

Soldiers in Beno City had received an order from General Asande stating that no matter the situation, they are not to surrender and that previous order, of a gradual retreat if in case Mbeni troops launch an offensive to capture the city, stands. Soldiers on the outskirts of Beno City, numbering about a little more than 300 (the rest are inside the city), have started fortifying their positions and to lay down mines to prevent Mbeni troops from advancing. Artillery fire continues to shell positions in Mazabunga village. RNLA troops did not receive any air cover when Mbeni troops captured two villages in an attempt to encircle them them.

Troop numbers:

RNLA soldiers at Beno city and its outskirts : 960 (10 died from the clashes near the village)
Local volunteers trained by RNLA :50
Artillery : 3
Soldiers defending Ndelezi : 1000
Remaining 6000 soldiers : Unknown...However they are trained as an offensive unit to capture large swathes of territory in a short and quick assault. The element of surprise is their strength. Last known position of them was 80 km north of Beno city 2 days ago.

ImageMap of the latest land acquisitions in yellow by RNLA-MA[/img]

April 16th 7:45 am

1.500 of the 2.500 troops on Beno bridge joined the 900 troops present in Sherunga, bringing the number of troops present at the Sherunga outpost to 2.400. Some troops were equipped with mortars, RPG-7 and 30 of the newly acquired toyota pickups with mounted chinese W85 heavy machine gun were also fielded.

The troops started slowly their march towards Beno City.
Despite the wariness, two of the toyota pickups exploded.
The RNLA-MA troops then decided to make Ndoni villagers from Sherunga march several meters ahead of them, threatening them at gunpoint.
Dozens of bodies got splattered in this manner, slaughtered by the mines.
Lt. Col. Basoto commented ''I thought we had to wait till the end of the battle for the fireworks and celebrations''.
His inhuman assertion was followed by the uneasy laughters of his junior soldiers.
But after all the tactic paid off, after 2 hours the troops finally made it to the entrance of Beno City.

1.200 troops attacked from the southern entrance and 1.200 attack from the eastern entrance.
RNLA fired a huge amount of mortars and shells, but they retreated at a fast pace allowing RNLA-MA to make great advances despite the initial huge loss of manpower.
The mobility offered by the toyota pickups allowed the RNLA-MA to make incursions behind the lines of defense of the enemy and made indiscriminate attacks possible.

Once the distance between RNLA-MA and RNLA increased, the latter didn't respond to fire and concentrated on leaving the place, therefore RNLA-MA troops disengaged and secured all of the city in a matter of minutes.

Enarengi Village

Soldiers at Beno city initiated their gradual retreat when they saw the Mbeni troops advancing towards the city. As the troops withdrew, they set up as much mines as they could in order to make it difficult for the Mbeni troops to fully secure the city. They even set up booby traps near the center of the city to make it even more harder for the Mbeni troops to secure the city. The RNLA troops withdrew to the town of Enarengi which lies north of Beno City.

Muleni Airbase
8:25 am

John : President Asande! We have lost Beno City! RNLA troops retreated without much casualties. Around 30 soldiers were killed and another 10 injured in the fight.
Agnaku : Every loss is temperory, John!
John : What do you mean? The city was strategic and now we have lost an opportunity to regain a strategic advantage by capturing the Beno Bridge. Now, the Mbeni troops will be bringing in reinforcements through the bridge and soon Ndelezi would be under siege.
Asande : That is exactly what we want!
John (looking confused) : What?! You are going to allow them to attack Ndelezi?
Asande : No, John! What we want is the RNLA-MA to bring in as much troop as possible north of Beno bridge. And I am pretty sure they would have moved in reinforcements north of Beno bridge to build a defensive position in Beno city.
John : President Asande, I do not understand. Why are you letting the RNLA-MA bring in reinforcements north of the bridge. They are having a massive strategic advantage.
Agnaku : John, remember you asked why defenders in Beno city should retreat? The reason we let that happen is because we wanted to draw in as much RNLA-MA troops as possible to the north of the bridge. Now, our main objective in this conflict is to capture Katima city and eliminate the corrupt leadership of the Mbeni people. To do that, we need to get to Katima city fast.
Asande : As of now, the RNLA-MA feel that they have the strategic advantage in the conflict. And yes, they do for now. But now that they have concentrated more of their soldiers at Beno City, we figured out that their defences in Wataru city would be week.
Agnaku: The RNLA-MA captured a few areas north of Wataru city yesterday. In other words, we let them take those areas. We wanted to show little resistance at the Beno river north of Wataru so they would get the feeling that we are concentrating our troops on Beno city. John, do you remember you had asked what are we going to use 6000 of our troops for? Well, this is exactly what we will use them for: to capture Wataru city. Among the 6000 troops, 3000 have been trained by your Travencore Imperial Guards. Now these 6000 soldiers will quickly capture the areas north of Beno river and move south towards Wataru in a quick blitz offensive. Our local spies north of Wataru report that there are just around 500 soldiers defending in the forested areas north of Wataru.
John : Oh wow! Damn! And where are those 6000 soldiers stationed currently?
Agnaku : They were positioned at Owunve, but orders have already been given to them for moving towards the city of Wataru. They would face a small group of RNLA-MA soldiers just north of the river area, but we have the element of surprise and by the manpower and firepower we are committing, we would be able to fully capture Wataru city. Our local sources have said that RNLA-MA does not have much fortifications there.
John : Wow! I am still trying to digest this tactic. But I guess Travencore airforce won't be of much help here since the area in Wataru is forested.
Asande : John, we would need your airforce to destroy Beno bridge! It holds no more strategic value to us.
John : And what about Beno City?
Agnaku : Once we capture Wataru city, RNLA-MA would be confused. They would have two choices : Either advance their troops from Beno city north towards Ndelezi, where we have our defences set up or they would be forced to transfer their troops towards the west. Now, it is important to note that Wataru city is closer to Katima City, just 200 km at the maximum towards the south. An area of around 80 km south of Wataru city is heavily forested and we can easily create a buffer in that zone.
Asande : And so John, Operation Black Pearl is underway!

Muleni Airstrip
9:00 am

Two TAL-30 warplanes took off from Muleni airbase and headed towards Beno bridge with the objective : Destroy the bridge!
Two X-25 and one X-30 warplane took off from Muleni air base with the objective : Bomb positions around Wataru city. However they are not going to go south of Beno river due to the air defences set up my allies of RNLA-MA. And hence, they would launch their missiles from north of Beno river towards the city of Wataru. Out of 8 missiles fired, only three have hit defensive outposts of RNLA-MA, while the rest hit trees.

Operation Black Pearl
North of Wataru City
12:30 pm

6000 RNLA soldiers moved swiftly across the Beno river by making inflated rubber boats (which were supplied by Travencore Navy who are having expertise in speed boat systems). They moved 4 tanks and three artillery pieces through makeshift wooden boats to the south of the river. More than an hour back, they had overrun a few settlements held by Mbeni soldiers. Around 150-200 troops were killed and another 100 taken prisoner in the attack. RNLA troops lost around 50 men and injured around 100 men.

Operation Black Pearl
Wataru City
2:00 pm

The Mbeni defenders at Wataru city would have no inclination that RNLA would attack with such a large force. They had believed that they would atleast get some warning if an offensive comes since they had captured a few settlements north of the river. However, RNLA troops had overrun those positions an hour back and none of the soldiers who were positioned at were able to retreat south from the RNLA advance.

The RNLA artillery shelled the city of Wataru at 2:00 pm and softened up a few defences on the northern entrance of the city. RNLA troops advanced into the city without much resistance. They had achieved the element of surprise! They did experience some heavy fighting near the center of the city. But due to the sheer number of troops, tanks and artillery, a few Mbeni troops surrendered while many retreated. By around 3:30 pm, RNLA troops began securing the city and shelling the areas south of Wataru city. A few 1000 troops were sent south of the city to round off or eliminate any Mbeni troops they could find.

Status at 6 pm:

Number of RNLA soldiers killed north of Wataru : 50
Number of RNLA soldiers killed in Wataru city : 140
Number of total injured : 200
Total number of active soldiers in and around Wataru city : 5610 (approximately)

Number of Mbeni troops killed in the operation : 420
Number of captured Mbeni troops : 500
Number of Mbeni troops who retreated south successfully : Unknown number but possibly in the hundreds

(OOC : I am unsure about the exact number of defenders in Wataru city, but going by your previous posts, you had sent 800 as reinforcement, hence I am guessing there were atleast more than 1000. So, depending on that number, you can estimate how many were able to retreat successfully from Operation Black Pearl. If you do have any doubts regarding the operation, do ask :) )

Phone call 3:30 pm
Lt. Col. Senguta ''General Ngitoza! General! The RNLA has started an all out invasion of the city of Wataru, many of our soldiers have died already, we need reinforcements ASAP''

Gen. Ngitoza ''WHAAT? That's inadmissible, inadmissible! I know what they want to do, those cokcroaches want to take over here too, don't worry i'll be sending thousands of troops but you got to resist for more hours, you have the spear of the nation in your hands now.''
Ngitoza turns the phone off.

Around the capital 4:45 pm

He was lying to Senguta to keep the morale up, there were no troops that could get to the city in hours besides Santane.
Ngitoza decided to retreat the few troops stationed to Sungitsa, Lakiba and Bok-Borok, filling the villages with mines.

They forced the population to flee, telling them that an invasion was imminent and that their help was needed if they wanted their homes to be safe.

All of the troops positioned in the villages around the capital city were made to create a two-tiers 2.200 men strong line of defense equipped with RPG-7, mortars, 8 T-55 MBT, 6 howitzers and 10 toyota pickups with mounted heavy machine-gun.

Katima city was defended by 5.000 men armed equipped with 15 T-72 MBT, 10 toyota pickups with mounted heavy machine-gun and 6 howitzers.

Retreating troops of Wataru 6:15 pm

700 soldiers made it outside of Wataru, much demoralized they had in front of them hours of travel in the bush to Kilak.
What they could do was to position mines along the road although they did not have many as much of them were abandoned during the retreat.

The 700 soldiers would join the 200 and 100 soldiers stationed in Kilak and Olubenda respectively and put up defenses, while awaiting for the incoming of howitzers and armored vehicles.

At the presidential palace 6:30 pm

Ngitoza writes to its ally North Desrenkov in search for help:
Esteemed allies,
We know it's impossible to attack the troops in Wataru and put significant damage because of the forestal territory but i request you to set up a patrol area in the west of the country where the tropical rainforest and the savanna meet eachother.
We should be able to minimize their power before they could even make it near the capital if you'll help us.
Also, you are free to use all of the airspace from now on.

Beno City 6:40 pm
The troops in Beno City received the news from the western front and recognizing that they couldn't aid in any way, recognizing that the bridge had been destroyed and it would take hours to get south and most importantly recognizing that most of the eastern part was defended by a limited number of RNLA soldiers they marched towards Enarengi, as they realized the RNLA probably retreated to the nearest town to the north.

Armed with anger and desire for revenge, RPGs, mortars and a minor number of howitzers, two dozen of toyota pickups, the 2.200 troops attacked the village with hundreds of RPG-7 launched grenades, mortars indiscriminately, killing much of its civilian population and RNLA soldiers.

Many though were able to retreat but they were followed by the RNLA-MA which had a good knowledge of the paths and also thanks to the easier landscape in comparison to Mazabuga and Sherunga.

A second attack with the same tactics was held in the meagerly defended Mbarazi, and the remaining 30 troops surrendered and were made prisoners of war.

North of the bridge
- 2.200 troops
- 4 howitzers
- 26 toyota pickups with heavy machine gun

Around the capital city
-7.200 troops
-23 tanks
-12 howitzers
-10 Toyota pickups with heavy machine gun

Rest of the country
- 1.300 troops
- 22 tanks
- 2 howitzers

The troops at Enarengi further retreated north towards Mbarazi as they saw the RNLA-MA advance towards their positions. Since RNLA wasn't able to setup defences around the village, the Mbeni troops had an easy task of securing the village. When the RNLA soldiers saw that Mbeni troops were further advancing to Mbarazi, they attempted to retreat west towards the village of Rolani. By the end of the day, out of the more than 900 soldiers stationed at Beno city, only 450 had survived when they reached Rolani, where they received reinforcements of 300 men, all of whom have just finished their military graduation and special forces training from Travencore Imperial Guards. 600 soldiers from Ndelezi arrived at Sokunage (apologies for the spelling, but the name isn't clear on the map) and started setting up defences. Soldiers defending Rolani and Sokunage village had the following objectives :

1. Prevent the Mbeni troops from any further advances.
2. Allow the Travencore air force to wipe out the Mbeni troops from the air

General Asande knew that without reinforcements, Mbeni troops would eventually run out of hope and will slowly thin out. And why waste precious human life if you can pick them up easily from the air. The Travencore air force X-25 and TAL-30 warplanes began conducting sorties in the villages of Mbarazi and Enarengi, more or less attempting to raze the villages to the ground. Soon they were joined by the Travencore X-30 warplanes who had Mbeni troop positions as easy targets in the Savannah. Artillery units at Rolani started firing shells into Enarengi and its nearby surroundings.

Muleni Airbase

Asande : A very big victory indeed!
John : But you have more than 2000 troops coming from Beno city. Instead of being demoralized they have advanced as north as Mbarazi.
Agnaku : These approximately 2000 troops have no way of getting reinforcements in the next few days. We have set up defences in Rolani and Sokunage villages and your airforce will do the rest of the job.
Asande : Most of the civilians have already retreated west, so you can give the order to your airforce to raze the villages to the ground if needed.
Agnaku : Once we have successfully reduced their troop numbers, they would either surrender or we would advance into their areas and into Beno city itself. We have around 700 troops stopping them and orders have been given to them that of in case the Mbeni troops advance towards any of the village in large numbers, our soldiers would retreat. They would become easier targets for your air force since you will have more open areas.

Wataru City
Morning after the victory

Preparations were in full swing to set up defences on the southern buffer of the city. Booby traps, land mined, RPG positions, sniper positions, mortar postions and artillery positions were set up in the heavily forested areas south of Wataru city. RNLA soldiers, numbering about 2000, advanced east and captured the city of Santane. Around 100 RNLA soldiers who were patrolling the north side of Beno river at the villages of Okloro, Gasu and Oringa crossed the river towards the southern side, where they captured the village of Apasa by afternoon. Both the villages of Santane had little to no defences set up and their were no Mbeni troops in the village. However, local sources claim that a small number of Mbeni troops numbering around 40-50 soldiers have fled south in the direction of Kilak yesterday night after they heard the news about the fall of Wataru city. RNLA troops are now expanding their buffer zone around these villages. Troops are also attempting to even increase their area of control south of Wataru city.

Katima airport
Colonel Zhukov, the Travencore air force has crossed the Benu River. They are attacking allied positions.
Zhukov: Thats it. Intercept them. Send in 4 SU 37 on intercept course. Fire at will. Get me the colonel here in order to discuss strategy. I want to attack the Muleni Airstrip.

4 Su 37 took off on an intercept course to the attacking Travencore aircraft. Once near they radioed them.

SU 37: Travencore aircraft you are in violation of Ratsirana airspace turn back or you will be fired upon.

With the new reinforcements from North Desrenkov Boris Zhukov seen a group of 4 men that from their movement he could tell that they are not regular units. He approached them and asked them for their unit and rang. All 4 turned in unison and said that they were captains of the 141 task force of the North Desrenkovian army. 4 captains in a squad now that is curious. He went back to his command post. He opened his laptop to search for the deployment orders for the unit. There were none. Alarmed he picked up the phone and called HQ in Desrenkov City. After asking the question his superior just told him to wait and redirected him to the army overall commander Marshal Vorchevski.
V: They always said you are smart and attentive to detail i must admit i did not expect that. You are to give them space. And leave them to do their job. They are captains all right you can ask for their opinions but do not try to order them around.
Z: They are not even Desrenkovian are they?
V; They are. The reason why you find them odd is that they went to a special training in MGE. As such they are to be left alone. Have i made myself clear colonel?
Yes sir

A plan of the latter General Mbutelezi was put in place in the country today as the RNLA-MA decided to not take risky positions on the ground for a while.
General Ngitoza instead put in place ''Plan Zvisingaite'' in which thousands of male citizens will be made to in theory mantain public order when in fact the biggest stage of genocide about the ndonis will take place, making the power shift change decisively-

400 Ndonis were arrested in the night, in the capital which was generally untouched by the conflict in this way, they've been interrogated, and impirsoned without a judicial process, 30 to 50 died in unknown circumstances.

A thousand of any age were made to go across a mined river or be executed and many died in this way.

At late night it was received an information about a fellow Ndoni using his former hotel to host Ndoni persecuted people and collaborationists.
The building was shot with multiple RPG-7 and many surviving inside were shot.

A live televised address to the whole world was prepared for General Asande and he stood ready to speak to the world.

My fellow friends,
I speak to you today with sadness. Young children, who should have been playing on the fields at their age, are being massacred. Humanity, in its very right, does not seek to exist in the minds of Mbeni leadership. I am still baffled by the news that is coming from the south of the country where Ndoni minority citizens are being ruthlessly butchered by Mbeni extremists under the leadership of the RNLA-MA. And I am extremely sorry to my people since I wasn't able to save their lives from Mbeni terrorists. In response, I assure the whole world that the deaths of thousands of civilians will not go in vain. But we Ndoni people, in our culture, do not harm innocent lives. We will strike back. The strike might only look like a pin prick, but it would be straight into their hearts. Around 2000 Mbeni terrorists have no where to run north of Beno city and with the help of the Travencore air force, we would avenge the deaths of innocents..

Travencore warplanes continued relentlessly bombing the areas north of Beno city. The village of Enarengi is almost completely razed to the ground. The Savannah provided easy targets for the warplanes and the RNLA-MA troops had very little option to hide. The Travencore air force, in fact, struck Beno City as well with the city center completely being damaged. According to Travencore assessment more than a thousand soldiers have been killed in the air strikes while the remaining are on the run. RNLA troops positioned at Rolani are preparing to advance towards Beno city.

The RNLA strengthened their defences around Wataru city and increased their area of influences to the east and to the south.

Beno City
RNLA-MA forces in Beno City since day one started secretly building improvised military tunnels filled with heavily armed personnel.
Thanks to the effect of surprise ambushes the RNLA troops who recently approached the city, were caught unready and suffered heavy losses numbering around 300.

When the RNLA troops were going back to their initial positions to reorganize, the four Mig 21 Fishbed fighters provided by North Desrenkov attacked them from 25-30 km south with Kh-25 Air-to-surface missiles bringing their death toll higher.
The pilots were not very capable and the attack could have been more deadly for the enemy.
Anyways the Mig 21s returned to the Katima Airport and the RNLA-MA troops were therefor able to hold the city despite the critical condition they were facing.

Around the south
Many people joined the Zvisingaite thanks to the promises of the military that they'd get some of the homes and wealth of their Ndoni neighbors.
Pogroms happened all around the south killing thousands in one day.

Many of the joining people have been approached by the RNLA-MA and made to follow militarist, Mbeni nationalist ideology classes aimed at and train themselves in warfare in order to transform them into ruthless soldiers.

4:30 PM April 20th
RNLA's General Asande, after their allies left and also due to the continuation of the massacres against Ndonis in the south, in fear of having a much smaller electorate and not being able to properly govern in a post-war scenario, has requested to hold peace talks and declared an unilateral ceasefire.

From : General Asande , RNLA
To : General Ngitoza , RNLA-MA

General Ngitoza,
I know you are no Mbutelezi type,
We have very different opinions on many issues but both of us don't want our country to fall, both of us know that there will be no winner among us if the war continues for months or years, only who comes from afar to plunder the land will win and subjugate us to their will once again.
I therefore declare a unilateral ceasefire, and request you to offer me the safe passage to the Kergstan embassy in the capital, escorted by the security staff of that country, in order to have peace talks right there.

I hope you take that into consideration because our only objective is peace, and we are still open to any way or tool in order to achieve it.

General Ngitoza was kind of enthusiatic when he received the letter, he decided to declare a ceasefire too but he would not answer the letter immediately, in order to create a sense of uncertainty among the RNLA and see how far he could be able to negotiate.

General Ngitoza instead called his main allies from North Desrenkov, requesting them to avoid all hostile acts for now and to publish an official statement about ND sentiments and views over the ceasefire and peace proposal, in order for Ratsirana to officially invite ND as a party to the peace talks in case things go as planned.

Ngitoza then also decided to halt the Zvisingaite pogroms against the Ndonis but in the most isolated parts of the south the massacres continued until the next day.
