The beginning of the late 2010 period would see a gradual decline to its economy, as well as political divisions rise between the nation's populace. These tensions were further exasperated by the onset of an economic depression within the EU, along with every other Western country in the early 2020s.

Mike Haze, the leader of the Puerto Coco Organization looks at the nation of Altis and Stratis as a future narco-state. The corrupt government, small army size and poor equipment makes it an easy target for the Organization to deploy on the island and take over. On this day, 19 PCO operators deployed in Altis, south of the village of Panochori and set up a camp outpost. The commander of the operation is Adrea Borodin, the best PCO operative and the most trusted man of Mike Haze.

7 days have passed since Borodin and his men deployed in Altis. His orders were clear. Do not engage with local forces unless fired upon. 7 days of planning and scouting but still he cannot do anything, not that he could. Borodin knows that with 19 men he has very limited options and a small percentage of survival. His men are very simple equipped with just AK-12s, some RPGs and RPKs. As he looked at his map, a soldier disrupted him. "Commander, we have reports of AAF forces setting up patrols in Panochori and the surrounding area. Light Infantry and some vehicles." Borodin turned to face the soldier.
"Keep your eyes open, the last thing we want is an ambush at night. They still don't know that we are here so something else might be up"
"Yes sir"

As the situation in Altis was slowly evolving day after day, the Imperial Astarian Navy had dispatched the LHD Idaho, with the LPD Grehen Bay, and two Adrean-Birleck Class destroyers.
Aboard those ships, the 35th Marine Expeditionary Unit, commanded by Colonel James Kane, while the Naval Group was commanded by Rear Admiral Elias Visconsin.
"Well Sir, it seems that Commander Borodin has finally landed and may need our help, says Kane to the Admiral.
-Indeed Colonel. Officer, please send a message to Commander Borodin and tell him we're ready to support him.
-Aye Aye, replies the Petty Officer before starting to type a message on her computer.

As Commander Borodin planned how his men would proceed through the town of Panochori he received a message on his Tactical Computer. He got a message that the Imperial Astarian Navy is ready to support Puerto Coco Organization troops. The news are very good to hear and he immediately responded.

Took you a long time Admiral. We are happy to hear from you, it's been ten days since our deployment and we could really use your help. First things first. Right now, we have a force of 19 men including me in Panochori Bay. Our current equipment is very weak to enable us to attack anything and then defend it. I am still planning how to proceed. We are surely going to need air and/or artillery support. Then after the first attack here in Altis we need to disable NATO and Altis Armed Forces bases in Stratis a little bit south from Altis and our location. As of now, i have orders to do nothing except planning, so hold fire until further notice.

The building of the naval high command was a large building situated on a cliff overlooking the Kristijanopolis Harbor. From its balconies you had unobstructed view of every ship entering the harbor as well downtown Kristijanopolis. Major Aleksandar Grigorov was drinking coffee with two of his coworkers when an aide came to him to inform him that he was needed at his post. On the way there he was briffed of the situation concerning the new Kirov class cruiser that was sold to North Desrenkov and that it was in his AO with an imperial carrier group in order to train. As he entered the situation room for the Mediterranean region he noticed the reason why he was called in. The carrier group was 500 km from the nation of Altis and Stratis but there was something strange. According to reports from satellite data and radio cater near the nation there were 2 Assault ship and 2 destroyers. He immediately sent an information bulletin to the imperial high command and a report to his commanding officers reporting to them of the situation.

A decision was made at the meeting that the strike group will be sent near the islands to discover the reason why the assault ships were there. As per the agreement the ND task force that was conducting exercises was put under the command of rear admiral Aleksandar Maksimov,the captain of the HIMS Gjorge Ivanov.

At ease lads. As most of you already know new orders have come. We are to move 500 km to the south in order to ascertain the situation near the island nation of Altis and Stratis. There are reports of an Astarian naval presence that is too close for comfort near the islands and according to reports it was not invited by their government. Now orders are that we check the situation. At the moment under no circumstances are we allowed to engage the ships present. The ND task force will be put under our direct command for this operation. Inform them of the situation and tell the Volgograd (name of the ND Kirov class) that it needs to position itself at the front of the task force in order to test out its systems while we are under way. Prepare for the worse and hope for the best guys. I want at all times at least 2 birds in the air equipped for air to air combat as well as 2 more birds ready for anti ship action. Lanch our planes for a recon flight near their task force. Lets see what we can find shall we,
