Clarence Flight
The flight erupted into wheezes and cheers as the decoys went down.
"Those fools!" Clarence-1 cackled. "Those damned fools!"
"How retarded do you have to be to think we still use Flankers?" added Clarence-2, wheezing. "God damn, Oseans are stupid."
"Cut the shit." barked Trevor, the AWACs operator. "Right, it's time. Good luck, lads. Go get 'em."
With that, Clarence Flight screamed out of the sky, line-abrest. The long range of the AWACs ensured that the Eruseans had a radar lock on their Osean counterparts long before their own Gripens had sighted them.
This was vital. For the Gripen is capable of carrying a very, very, special missile. This missile is known as the Meteor-the world's first true hypersonic missile.
Erusea had, in the 30 years since the Lighthouse war, after Rosa D'Elise's disappearance(and presumed death), done more than continuing to be a destination for rich Osean tourists, canonizing Rosa as a Saint, and then undergoing a brief but bloody civil war. Military reforms had been made, doctrines revised, alliances made, equipment changed. The focus was shifted away from war-winning superweapons, and towards a mixture of logistical superiority and asymmetric warfare.
Erusea could not win air superiority, but she could deny it to Osea.
As the Meteors were launched, smashing through the air at hypersonic speeds...the old Osean-lead world order of Strangereal ended, and a new one began it's birth-struggle.
Oured Bay
A single Erusean EA-6 Prowler, unnoticed and unseen by Osean Air Defenses, sped across the bay, and into Oured.
It's pilot reconsidered his life choices as the operation began.
A spoofed news broadcast was transmitted to all televisions in Oured.
The ticker below it read as follows;
The pilot would bail out later and would likely be captured by Osean troops. If asked for his motivations, he would only shrug and reply with a "Hell if I know."
