This is an In-Character Role-Play scenario with Post-Modern-Technology (before FTL travel) and based on invitation or asking the permission of OP for participation.
Romania in Latin means "the land / rule of Romans" or "belonging to Romans", similarly to "Imperium Romanum" as an Empire or Rule of Rome, this later being known as "Basileia ton Romaion" in Greek, mainly representing an European and Mediterranean civilization.
In this RP scenario we imagine that into an alternate world (parallel universe) the Roman civilization had survived after passing through various reforms and changes. The most world history is almost same excepting Romans. Europe and Americas had similar significant wars as in the rest of the world but their civilizations, goals and leaders were completely different.
This is based on the lore, story, guidelines, map and nations from >HERE< (Nova Mundia).
United States of Rome is a mixture of European and American societies.
This had a different history starting with the Constantinian dinasty where Crispus, the first son of Constantinus I the Great, had became co-emperor (along with his other brothers) in 337 AD, and where his nephew Marcus continued the (re)conquest of Dacia (as intented by Constantinus I) and building strong and big walls at the Eastern borders, therefore stopping potential invasions and securing the frontier, despite that these walls were a monumental work.
The Western side of the Roman Empire was almost in crisis and in collapse due to the conflicts with its nobility. Even if the West chosen its own emperor, after an unsuccessful plot organized by a group of nobles against the East, it fell to Goths, ending with the same Romulus Augustulus as emperor. In a century the most of Roman lands were reconquered with the exception of Galia and Britannia, however in the next centuries Galia and Germania were twice (re)conquered with considerable effort.
During the Colonial Age, Romans encountered distant cultures and built new colonies while rivaling with other Great Powers.
In the Modern Age, the Roman state had passed deep reforms changing its shape and its functioning structure in a Republican sense.
The Rules are the basic RP rules of good behavior as in every RP scenario.
Using "puppet-nations" to play, each for a character, is allowed (as long as this doesn't cross the limits of common sense).
How to play?
- Every player plays as a character being a member of a nation and shall "fight" for his nation and/or for his place in the world.
- Every nation may be complex and it pursues its own interests in all his politics inside and abroad but its power is limited by its size.
- This is turn-based RP, however 1 week per page. Many could happen in a week.
- Only 17 states/nations are predefined, the rest are up to players.
- Fascism, Islam, Communism or other such does not exist here. For example, China may be similar (to that of the real world) but didn't experience communism, however this does not exclude socialist values.
- The "United Nations Council" (UNC) is the global, supranational and intergovernmental organization with all nations/states as its members (somehow similar to the "United Nations" from our reality). This could impose sanctions or restrictions (such as trade embargo, debt warnings etc.) to certain states and it could grant benefits to others.
- Major RP goals are: preserving peace, finding objects (stolen paintings, artifacts) or people (rogue characters - to bring them to the justice), competing with your own company or even leading people (as general, governor, king or president). There's everything you can do here.
- Starting date is at January 2000 after the New Year.
- Mars planet is claimed for colonization by each Super-Power and space exploration in Sol System is advancing along with small space vessels capable of primitive space travel in Earth's proximity and which could reach Saturn's moons in a matter of months, but mining on the Moon is prohibited by UNC standards.
- Military ships and aircrafts shall have these general standards:
a) Small class (Corvette): Hull 100, Shield 15, Weapon 15, Cargo 40;
b) Medium class (Cruiser): Hull 250, Shield 40, Weapon 40, Cargo 80;
c) Large class (Battleship): Hull 600, Shield 150, Weapon 100, Cargo 150;
d) High class (Destroyer): Hull 850, Shield 300, Weapon 120, Cargo 150;
e) Espionage Probe: Hull 10, Shield 1, Weapon 1, Cargo 5;
f) MS-Satellite: Hull 100, Shield 10, Weapon 10;
g) Anti-Ballistic Missiles: Hull 80, Shield 1, Weapon 10. - OP may give top events similar to NS issues to shape your character ethics and/or even your nation.
- Conquest Rules:
a) Players with permission from the State Ruler can attack areas that have not yet been conquered;
b) To gain a territory you Must have 2 claims in order to gain control over that territory.
c) You shall consult the current leader to lead operations in enemy territory.
d) Only Ruler type player can make political decisions but players can choose to overturn their decision. Players will have to make important decisions in order to win.
e) The standard size of an army shall consist of this: 100 units x 1 county, or 2100 units x 1 province; 2500 units x 1 city; 10500 units x 1 capital; 25% of the total size as units in reserve; 25% units of the total size as civilian militias only within self nations; and 10% units for outer space.
