OOC: I would like to point out that ultimately, the rule making decision rests with the OP. That said, I don't think that this is much of a problem - only the countries that are claimed by participants in this RP are relevant to the story. Thus, until someone starts RPing Russia, it's not relevant.

And international relations are, by definition, complicated. And I would kindly request the OP to make an OOC thread.

Official Statement by Grand Ambassador Peter Nizhinsky, Speaker-to-Slavers

Greetings, fellow allies and friends!

(And George Fenwick, neither ally nor friend).

It has reached my knowledge that George Fenwick, the pretender 'monarch' of Munkchester, has gotten his panties in a bunch because His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor of Fuso has seen fit to announce His belief that the leadership of the so-called People's Republic of China, and slavers in general, should meet a fate where they are executed by their own victims. This statement has been viewed by this pretender as such an 'insult' that they have seen fit to issue a 'royal' statement requesting that His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor of Fuso (long may he reign) should not be so rude, and perhaps should stop insulting slavers.

Now I, as the Free Kingdom's Speaker-to-Slavers, have some substantial knowledge about the matter of communicating with slaverkind. I am flabbergasted by this reply, because frankly, stating that genocidal slaver Maoists should be hanged by their own victims is not an insult, it is in fact extremely mild. Moreover I am quite amused by the fact that Fenwick has decided the matter to be so offensive to themselves so – I believe, the term that is often misused in this context is triggered – as to view this as a matter for his own person (remember, he perceives himself as a true, and rightful, King of his so-called country).

Truly, slavers are the biggest cowards out there. Because their entire livelihood, their very culture revolves around violence and intimidation of others (either literal, explicit violence, or the implicit threat of violence against those victims who refuse to follow the orders of their so-called masters), they are constantly in terror of it. They plot elaborate systems of punishment and surveillance to prevent their victims from rising up against them (even though, sadly, their victims rarely rise up). There are historic examples of slaver societies becoming offended by the existence of pumpkin pie, because pumpkin pie reminded them of abolitionist ideas, and therefore they removed it from their tables as a symbol of liberty.

And so we have Fenwick – who has become offended on behalf of Maoist tyrants, whose brand of tyranny is about as removed from his own as a cockroach is from a maggot, and who would doubtless kill him, or he them, if they had the opportunity. The slaver has an opinion! Moreover, the slaver expects the Emperor of Fuso to listen to the mouth-noises he emits! By the Gods, the slaver has a high opinion of himself!

How can one man be so weak, so cowardly, as to react in this way? I do not know the mind of His Royal Majesty, the Emperor of Fuso. Perhaps, it is possible, he will choose to pity Fenwick, to perhaps withdraw the lash of his sharp words. For all we know, the image of Fenwick, no doubt crying at his desk, his chin wiggling as the tears stream down his cheeks and he types this message, will arouse the Emperor's mercy on this matter, and he will choose to send Fenwick a message of reconciliation. Perhaps even, a toy, or a puppy?

I, however, am not as merciful and kind, nor am I interested in the feelings of a slaver such as Fenwick. If Fenwick wants the respect of his fellow man, then perhaps the first stop should be to stop mistreating his fellow human beings and holding them in chains. Until such a time, the round mockery of Fenwick and his so-called country shall remain my duty, for which I collect from the Crown and People of Allanea a very sizable salary, as well as quite excellent benefits.

So, in this light, let us move on to the meat of this letter – to the actual insults.

Dear Mr. George Fenwick.

You are a form of life far below a cockroach. A cockroach – vile and disgusting though they may be – does not have slaves, for it does not have the capacity to consider such an act of malevolence. A cockroach, being a creature with no opposable thumbs, does not wield a whip to drive other cockroaches. There is no record of a peripateta americana having ever operated a labor camp or a slave plantation.

The fact that slavers like yourself continue to pretend that they are representatives of civilization – of culture – would be laughable if it were not an offense to any actual culture. Culture, in its strictest term, is humanity's gradual progress away from unjustified compulsion and violence. Those who believe that compulsion and violence are the very definition of culture are essentially like a serial killer who wears their victims as masks. They wear the mask of culture, but though they may know great wealth, and watch the classic plays, their claims of culture and civilization remain hollow. The slavers can at best be compared to the sort of 'culture' that grows on the edge of a toilet bowl when it's left uncleaned for too long.

Now admittedly there are different sorts and forms of slavery, and it is perhaps arguable that it would be preferable, in some sense, to be a victim of Munkchesterians than the Maoists. But this is a meaningless argument for all but narrow professionals, much like the discussion of different subtypes of human stool is only of interest to physicians who specialize in that sort of thing. I, on the other hand, am not an expert in feces, and therefore will not compare different types of slave-drivers to each other. I'm told that there are sites for people who are fans of that sort of thing.

At this point a lesser individual would wish upon you a terrible cancer. I will not do this, mainly as I know that a cancerous tumor growing on a different kind of cancerous tumor is a highly unlikely event and only rarely happens in medical systems. (If one of Fenwick's aides is reading this – please explain to your boss I compared him to a cancer tumor in case he doesn't get it. If he gets upset by this message, tell him that he probably should avoid crying in public).

Moreover, I wish to express an endorsement of the idea stated by the Emperor of Fuso, that slavers should be hanged by their own victims as often as possible (although I am not totally particular on who should be doing the hanging – if they hang themselves in their prison cell awaiting trial, or are hanged b a foreign liberating force, I'm willing to celebrate that too).

That is all.

May the Gods Continue to Bless Allanea.

To all Americans whom it concerns,

The Free Land of Antityranicals would like to officially endorse your efforts to liberate Hong Kong from the evil clutches of the Communist forces, which have for the past seventy years occupied Beijing, which rightfully belongs to the government currently in Taiwan. Additionally, we would like to offer the aid of the Antityranical Navy in securing the island against Chinese forces in exchange for the Free Land now and henceforth having bilateral free trade with the island of Hong Kong. The Free Land of Antityranicals, being located on the Island of Treangua, two hundred miles north of Midway Island, values Hong Kong as a trade parter, and looks forward to the loosening of draconian trade restrictions and tariffs, so that The Free Land, Hong Kong, and the Royal States may all benefit.

A Communique From The Desk of HM The King

We truly thank the nations of Rupuduska, Fuso, and Antityrannicals for their recognition of America's sovereignty over the new State of Hong Kong. The Aegis of Freedom requires the endurance and commitment of the world's greatest nations, and we are proud to include you both among its members. All this being said, we are now in a tenuous time in world events. We've formally and legally laid claim to a territory still under the de jure control of power that's ever more hostile to our interests, and the more aggressively we all respond the more the door will close to peaceful resolution. We must request, now that Hong Kong is a state of this kingdom, that all foreign forces vacate the island of Hong Kong effective immediately. Our son is currently within the bounds of China to negotiate the end to this crisis. Foreign guns on their doorstop will all but ensure a breakdown of order and peace.

Thank you.

From,
His Majesty, Alexander IV of House Hamilton, By The Grace of Providence and The Consent of The American People, King of These States, Supreme Protector of The Pacific Islands and The Caribbean, Lord of The Dominion of Canada and Archduke of Mexico, Honorary Prince-Elector of Orange-Nassau, Master of The Seas, Safeguard of Liberty, Destiny Manifest on Earth, Sovereign of the People and Defender of the Americas.

SECURITY LEVEL: PUBLIC
SUBJECT:OCCUPATION OF HONG KONG

We understand that a war between two nuclear powers like the HRH and China could be devastating and plunge the world into a seminal catastrophe on par with the third world war.We do however RECOGNIZE Hong Kong Island as an offical terrority of the HRH, which is why it is so disconcerting to hear that Stokolomovi is occupying an offical HRH terrority. The stokolomovi occupation of Hong Kong has escalated the crisis to a terrifying boiling point. The people of Hong Kong plead for annexation and this occupation serves as a medium for Stokolomovi to silence their cries. We declare this warning to the stokolomovi government:

•Withdrawal of the security detail from Hong Kong Island
•Release of prisoners detained by the security detail
•A 50km exclusion zone around Hong Kong Penisula's land and sea area to take effect after the withdrawal of the security detail
•Any violation of the warning will prompt Tyrannyicalist intervention

In an effort to coerce Stokolomovi, we have placed high tarriffs on any Stokolomovi products as well as passed a bill forcing all Stokolomovi products to display "Made in Stokolomovi" in legible noticeable text in order to ease the current government endorsed boycott on Stokolomovi goods

PRC Response to Negotiations

Postby Stoklomolvi » Fri Dec 13, 2019 5:15 am

Unknown conference room, Hong Kong Special Autonomous Region
Daytime

The Prince of Columbia was escorted under clandestine security detail to a nondescript conference room that overlooked Victoria Harbour. Inside the room was the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, three assistants, and three Stoklomolvi observers. One of the Chinese assistants was a translator, who proceeded translate some opening statements to some basic pleasantries had been exchanged.

"Mr Frederick, it is with great distress that I note your declaration of intent to annex the city of Hong Kong in an action that reminds the Chinese nation of the Treaty of Nanking in 1842. As you may or may not realise, this places the People's Republic of China in a position where it can never cede its core territory to a foreign state, especially not one that was only recently returned to Chinese control from hands of the United Kingdom. To say that the issue of territorial sovereignty is a sore spot for the Chinese nation is an understatement at best. Even had the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation not intervened, the People's Republic of China would not willingly sign any document that would hand over control of Hong Kong. It is an insult that the Royal States of America believes it may coerce the People's Republic of China into doing so.

"Is there another purpose for your visit? The People's Republic of China will not tolerate incursions into Chinese territory. Hostile actions taken against the People's Republic of China will be taken as acts of war and we will be forced to respond accordingly. It is natural that the people of China would like to see a peaceful resolution to the situation in Hong Kong, but it must be stated that the actions taken by the Royal States of America will have profound impacts on both the foreign policy of China and the trade policy of China."

REFERENCE:
13 DECEMBER 2019

Security: Public
[OPEN COMMUNIQUÉ]
Subject: Request to Withdraw from Hong Kong

The Stoklomolvi Foreign Affairs Commissariat, noting that the words delivered by the foreign affairs representative on behalf of the Empire of Fusou are words that are generally beyond not made by those with even an iota of diplomatic skill, will excuse the Empire of Fusou for the time being. The Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation neither acknowledges nor respects the protest made by the Empire of Fusou, which is an ironic protest considering that the imperialism of Fusou is evident within their own national title.

It is uncharacteristic of the Stoklomolvi Foreign Affairs Commissariat to reference the actions of other states that criticise certain aspects of foreign policy, but in this case, the Foreign Affairs Commissariat finds it prudent to note the hypocrisy of the self-christened Holy Romagnan Empire of Karlsland, also proudly admitting imperialism in the full title of its own country. It is unsurprising, then, that the projection of the government of Karlsland would attempt to paint preservation of territorial sovereignty as imperialism. The failure of Karlsland to distinguish between preservation of territorial sovereignty of soil that had been seized by a foreign power previously and the attempt to seize foreign land would advise the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation to discount the protests of Karlsland as misinformed. The Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation strongly urges Karlsland to reconsider its stance on the matter, the Foreign Affairs Commissariat does express its desire for a peaceful resolution to the situation.

In fact, the reality that the only governments so far that have voiced support for the illegal annexation of territory by the Royal States of America have either been other monarchies, i.e. the United Lisamian Sovereignty aka the Kingdom of the United Nations, the Empire of Fusou, the Kingdom of Allanea, the Holy Romagnan Empire, the Free Land of Antityranicals (which has an inherited and unified head of state and head of government with the title of Archduke), or republics that follow irrational philosophies, such as slavery in the Munkcestrian Republic and forced labour in Tyrannyicalist, is disconcerting to the State Council of the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation. It is hoped that this worrying trend is not indicative of a general policy standpoint from an international perspective but rather misguided attempts to support another monarchy. The Royal States of America is itself an empire, having conducted imperialism to occupy the lands that it currently owns. There are many alternatives to securing peace and freedom for a people; forcible transfer of land with no guarantees of either freedom or liberty is a shallow attempt at masking imperialist expansion.

The Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation declines to vacate the city of Hong Kong, as its presence within the city was requested and agreed upon by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Foreign Affairs Commissariat of the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation. It is the impression of the government of Stoklomolvi that the People's Republic of China, as would be the case of any other government that possesses internationally recognised sovereignty, that China will not relinquish control over its sovereign soil to a foreign power. The government of Stoklomolvi will reiterate its position on the situation in Hong Kong; in light of the hostile stance of the Royal States of America and noting the vulnerable position of the People's Republic of China, any attempts by the Royal States of America to expand its national borders and any attempts to violate the territorial integrity of the People's Republic of China will be met by force.

It is regretful that the government of Tyrannyicalist would harm its own people and economy to achieve only damage to its own nation, but the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation has no ability to dictate the internal policy of Tyrannyicalist. If the government of Tyrannyicalist seeks to punish its people with tariffs, then the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation is currently powerless to stop it. In addition, Stoklomolvi products on sale in the country of Tyrannyicalist are believed to already be marked with the label "Made in Stoklomolvi" to some degree as such a mark is a mark of quality. Seeing that the government of Tyrannyicalist wishes to start a government-sponsored boycott, the Stoklomolvi Commerce Commissariat has approved of measures intended to assist the government of Tyrannyicalist in this matter, and will place an embargo on the country of Tyrannyicalist effective immediately. As it may not be clear at the moment what position the Stoklomolvi Commerce Commissariat has taken with regards to the economic attack by the government of Tyrannyicalist, please allow the Commerce Commissariat remind the government of Tyrannyicalist that based on current records, there do not appear to be any extensive economic ties between the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation and Tyrannyicalist.

Tyrannyicalist intervention, or any action, taken against Stoklomolvi assets in the region will be regarded as an act of war. The Stoklomolvi Foreign Affairs Commissariat urges the government of Tyrannyicalist to take caution and withdraw from the region in the interest of preservation of peace and the territorial sovereignty of the government of China. The exclusion zone around Hong Kong will be maintained by the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation only. Should the State Council deem it necessary, the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation will be forced to escalate its deployments into China to maintain order.

Hong Kong

The Royal Concorde pushed down in the early morning, and Prince Frederick was utterly exhausted from the flight. This was a Concorde. They could've just made a straight flight and a few refueling stops, but no, for their 'protection' they'd been island hopping for the last few days. As the crew readied their entrance into the city, getting organized and scouting for security reasons, Frederick and Andrea dressed in their finest. She in a long satin gown, and he in his officer's uniform, though he always substituted the ridiculous tricorn with a top hat. Prince Frederick had been Prince of Columbia for four years, and this today was the greatest challenge he'd faced. He'd have to look his best to make an impression, a lesson he'd learned from his father's near four decades as Crown Prince. He made one final adjustment to his hat, realigned his various medals, and made for the exit of the plane.

The sound they met was enormous in its intensity. Thousands of people were surrounding the international airport of Hong Kong, yelling and cheering for the arrival of the Prince of Columbia. Someone leaked my arrival time. The Prince thought as he descended the stairs, with Andrea on his arm. Whoever did it, thank you. He knew very little Mandarin, but a few words from old media he'd read and watched bled through. He heard words like "Taizi" and "Wansui" as stepped off the plane stairs. Signalling one of his guards, he told them to disregard the car and bring Buchephalus and Penelope, his and Andrea's horses. Having the men form into a regimented square, they began to make their way into the city. As his guards were also in traditional uniforms, it looked like something out of an old reenactment. Andrea and Frederick waved to the crowds as they made their way to the Chinese delegation. The crowds laughed, yelled, and cheered along the whole of the progress. American flags were flown, as were some British ones, but that was a small matter. The cry of freedom was apparent. Leaning off her horse, Andrea whispered something into a guardsmens ear and he moved forward to speak to the men. Within seconds the drum and fife began to play "Yankee Doodle" and after that, John Brown's Body (to which the Prince himself sang along with all the men), and Johnny Comes Marching Home, and a return to Yankee Doodle as the prince dismounted his horse before the Chinese envoys. They ushered him (and his translator) into a building, only to be handed off to a clandestine security detail and taken to a nondescript conference room that overlooked Victoria Harbor.

Glory, Glory! Hallelujah! The Prince hummed to himself as he listened to Wang Yi make his opening remarks. He bowed to the foreign minister in a traditional Chinese fashion (or at least the ways he'd seen in Taiwanese historical fiction films). Taking a seat, Frederick pulled a feather from his hat, tested it on a piece of paper. It was a pen. Looking back at the minister he made is response.

"Please take a seat, Mr. Wang. We're here to negotiate a settlement, not pontificate and puff our feathers at each other. If my father wanted that, he'd have sent Secretary of State Gabbard. I also understand why this is a sore spot for China, Mr. Wang. You were humbled before the British and made to give your rights to them as a sovereign power. My country was born in the fires of revolution to break away from that same empire. We fought and bled for that sovereignty. Yet here we are regardless.

This is not my declaration, nor my father's. This is the express wish of the people of this city, and the accepted decision of the people of The American Royal States. Their will has been made apparent. Loudly. Quantitatively. For the last half a year they've demanded their freedoms and your government has put their boot down instead, so they petitioned someone else to do so, and we accepted with the utmost reluctance. The PRC closed their fists too tightly around Hong Kong and it has slipped through your fingers.

My sole intention in coming here is to bring peaceful resolution and the transition of American sovereignty over this city. No one here wants to shed blood, and no one here certainly wants to plunge the world into nuclear hellfire. Shall we begin?"

"Unfortunately, a unilateral declaration on sovereignty transfer is not acceptable. There will be no transition of American sovereignty, though a peaceful resolution to this situation is desirable."

Wang Yi shook his head at Prince Frederick. "Regardless of what the Americans believe, or what the people of Hong Kong seem to express, the will of the Chinese people is clear. Those who are clamouring for Hong Kong to become independent are traitors to their nation. The people of this city merely require adjustments to their thinking. However, it is not my position to determine what the best course of action is at this point in time." He gestured out the window. "I am not a leader in internal policy. I am the leader of our foreign policy. And our foreign policy, my dear American colleague, is that we will not cede this territory for any reason. If you mean to threaten the People's Republic of China with 'nuclear hellfire', as you say, then I do not think there is anything else to discuss. There is and will be no 'slipping through fingers' as you so insultingly put it."

He glanced at one of the Stoklomolvi observers, who stood in the corner of the room with an expressionless face. The observer nodded. Wang Yi then turned his head back to Prince Frederick. "I would have preferred that your government sent a diplomat. However, being that your government sent you instead, I can only assume that this gesture appears symbolic, and you are already prepared to seize the city of Hong Kong by force. Is that correct?"

The three "observers" then proceeded to also sit at the table, saying nothing but placing their clasped hands on the tabletop.

"Mr. Wang the annexation of Hong Kong isn't up for debate. It's happening, regardless of the wants and desires of the ARS or PRC. We're here negotiating to keep the consequences of this incident from amplifying into scenarios neither of our nations wish to occur. The Hong Kongers are indeed traitors in your eyes. So were we Americans when we separated from Britain, so was the Southern states when they attempted to secede in the 1840s, and so was your communist party when you rose against the Nationalists. Every people has an inalienable right to self-determination. Hong Kong voiced its decision, and it must be respected. {He puts a long list of paper on the table} This petition, signed by millions of Hong Kongers says as much.

And no, my role here is hardly symbolic. If we wanted that, Gabbard would be here threatening you from here to Ulaanbaatar. I've been involved with my government my entire life, such is the nature of a Prince. I am much more experienced with politics than you think. I will not make threats. We're not so weak as a country that has to do so. No. I will simply ask the question that needs to be asked. What does China want in return for Hong Kong? Let's work from there."

"There is nothing China wants in return for Hong Kong." Wang Yi looked at the petition, and dismissively waved at it. "This meaningless piece of paper changes nothing. However, you are correct on one thing, Mr Frederick. The annexation of Hong Kong is not up for debate. It will not happen. History will not be repeated in China. I will not sign an unequal treaty in the twenty-first century, and no official in China will ever do so, nor will the will of the people allow them to do so. You have offered us no alternatives here, as these are not negotiations. What you have presented is nothing more than an ultimatum."

"Allow us to take over this farce of a negotiation, Mr Wang," said one of the Stoklomolvi observers to the Chinese Foreign Minister in Chinese. He also waved off the translator. "We do not require translators."

He stood in front of the prince and spoke in English.

"Let us make this situation very clear. You will leave this issue tabled in perpetuity, and you will be allowed to leave this room. If you do not table this issue, then you may return to your home country with the announcement that negotiations have failed, and that you have declared war on the People's Republic of China. By extension, the moment you make that declaration, you will have also dragged the Royal States of America into a war with the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation. You say you have not threatened China, but neither the People's Republic of China nor the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation sees it that way. You threaten China, and you will have threatened Stoklomolvi. I am an authorised plenipotentiary operating on behalf of the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation. We will hereby be speaking on behalf of the People's Republic of China as well.

"You will table this issue, Mr Frederick, or we will have a big problem on our hands. One that none of us, not China, not Stoklomolvi, not America, wishes to involve ourselves in. I am offering you a way to gracefully exit from this problem. You can say that the status quo will be maintained, or spin the situation however your government desires."

The Stoklomolvi observer then took the petitions from the table. He pulled out a lighter and ignited it, tossing the burning heap of fibres into the empty rubbish bin in a corner of the room.

"Now, I am offering you an opportunity to peacefully resolve this scenario with haste. It is now our turn to ask you a question that must be asked: what is America willing to sacrifice in the name of imperialist expansionism?"

"There is nothing China wants in return for Hong Kong." Wang Yi looked at the petition, and dismissively waved at it. "This meaningless piece of paper changes nothing. The Prince stood, and his placid face suddenly darkened. Frightful in its nature, he stepped close...very close...to the Stoklomolvi diplomat. His retinue stepped forward in response but the Prince of Columbia waved them back.

"Sit. Down. Now."

Walking past the diplomat, Frederik poured some drinks and handed it to Wang Yi. He took his seat next the foriegn minister and smiled.

"Mr. Wang, I am here to negotiate with you, not Stoklomolvi nor its envoys. Keep your dogs muzzled and send the extraneous ones out of the room."

As the extra people left, Frederik sipped on his drink.

"This is not an unequal treaty, Mr. Wang. I want an equal one. You say China wants nothing in return for Hong Kong. That's a lie. Everyone has a price, and I'm quite good at finding it. That's why I'm here. If we'd issued an ultimatum it'd have been done with the pacific fleet, not the heir to the throne. We want a deal, and so do you. We are superpower and great power, and we need to negotiate. Our economies are far too intermingled for a war, and we both understand that. I ask again, what do you want? What does the PRC want? I'm willing to be you'd trade an island for an island, for one thing. America is willing to do what needs to be done to prevent the deaths of millions. Are you?"

Daytime

The observer remained stone-faced at the Prince's gesture. He did not sit, nor did he move. He most certainly did not leave the room, and neither did the other two observers.

Wang Yi looked at the Stoklomolvi observer. The observer nodded, and Wang Yi remained silent.

The observer addressed the Prince. "You do not refer to the primary negotiating party as 'dogs', nor are we extraneous. You are to negotiate with the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation, not China. If the Royal States of America is prepared to sacrifice millions of its young sons in an imperialist venture, then it is too late for us to convince you otherwise. You are already prepared for war; this negotiation is nothing more than a farce designed to reduce American casualties in hopes that China will back down.

"It should not be a surprise to you, Mr Frederick, that China will not deign to respond to your demands. What he wants has been made explicitly clear: for you and your so-called diplomatic envoys to leave here and rescind your annexation declaration. You seem to place a very strong emphasis on your status as heir to the throne. The Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation cares not for royalty and there will be no deals made here today. You will leave, and there will be peace. Or, you can come back, and you will have war. Do I make myself clear?"

"You will leave, 'observer'. Either through that door or from me throwing you out that window into Victoria Harbor. This is the only threat I'm willing to issue. We are here to negotiate, and it seems you are the only one preventing it from happening. We will have peace. We will negotiate. Hong Kong will be free. These are facts. The damage from this is what needs to be mitigated. My duty is to negotiate with Mr. Wang, not you. The Word is god's law, and I follow it, sir. Do I make myself clear?"

Turning back to Mr. Wang, The Prince of Columbia sighed.

"I'll cut to the chase, Mr. Wang. Taiwan will be yours, formally and perpetually, if you are willing to cede Hong Kong to American statehood. Yes, yes, I know your government's position has been that Taiwan has always been yours and that my offer is 'meaningless'. Let's speak practically and frankly. Taiwan operates as an independent power, and one that the ARS has been protecting since the end of your civil war. We'll withdraw from that island allow your country to officially and truly reabsorb it. This comes from the desk of my father himself. My duty is to sweeten the deal and negotiate a settlement. Your country would be getting a 300 Billion profit in trading these islands. If they somehow get the balls to try to do the same as Hong Kong, we'll refuse them. I ask again. What do you want?"

Communique of France

To The Government of The Peoples' Republic of China,

We are here to write to the great nations of the world to announce that the Kingdom of France, the oldest ally of America, will immediately recognize and join the coalition of nations in calling upon the PRC to peacefully cede Hong Kong to America. War between two great powers will only end in a torrent of blood. While we do not care about the rights of the people, we know that global conflict is to be avoided at all costs. We will join in imposing sanctions until this is resolved.

The Chinese Foreign Minister again looked to the Stoklomolvi observer, who shrugged and nodded.

"Mr Frederick, Chinese territory is not your soil to use as bargaining chips at a so-called negotiating table," said Wang Yi. "You repeatedly insult us and insult our intelligence by assuming we would respond to your attempts at coercion as if we were on equal footing. The fact is, the only reason we are able to be at this negotiating table at all is because you forcibly landed yourself in Hong Kong before we had a chance to react and decline your overtures. Taiwan is rightfully Chinese soil, as is Hong Kong, as is South Tibet, as is Akesai Qin. These are not negotiable terms for China, as you are currently declaring to me that the Royal States of America does not officially maintain that Taiwan is Chinese territory. If that is the case, then we do not have diplomatic relations at all, and you should opt to negotiate with the government you feel more properly represents China.

"You have repeatedly insulted me and my nation with your negotiations. I certainly appreciate the sentiment, but there is no substance here. You cannot exchange Chinese territory for Chinese territory. They are all Chinese territory. Would you give Hawai'i to China in exchange for Alaska? That makes no sense, just as what you are saying makes no sense here. You cannot place a price tag on national core territory. There are millions of Chinese citizens living in Hong Kong and Taiwan. You are also holding hostage millions of Chinese civilians, if what you say is true. Please, send an actual diplomat to negotiate."

The Stoklomolvi observer said, "Mr Frederick, do note that making threats against a Stoklomolvi plenipotentiary is a diplomatic faux pas enough to cause war in itself. Please tread carefully with your words. Do not insult me with empty threats. It is not enough to discuss what you want on your terms. Frankly, you are speaking as if you have power and authority, where you do not."

"I do not make empty threats."

Prince Frederik rose from his seat again, and slipping past the main observer, grabbed one of the as of yet silent ones by the scruff of his neck and dragged him across the room. In stunned silence, Prince Frederik opened one of the windows and threw the man from it. The silence was finally broken by the echo of him splashing into Victoria harbor below. Returning to the table, Frederik took his seat.

"Now then, Mr. Wang. That there was an American agent who was part of my detail. We'll compensate his family for his loss. I do not make idle threats. Now, let us negotiate. De jure, Taiwan is yours, de facto its an independent state. Let's not pretend its anything else. Everything can be bought, sir, and you know it as well as I. We would trade Alaska for Hawaii, had one them been an annoying state out of our control and protected by an enemy power. I ask again. Name your price."

Before Prince Frederick was finished talking, Minister Wang had jumped to his seat and flung upon the door. "SECURITY!" he cried out, fearing for his life. The heavy thudding of boots reverberated through the room as over a dozen PLA personnel, armed with assault rifles, stormed into the room. "This man," said Wang, pointing at Frederick, "just threw a man out the window. Gather a rescue team and retrieve that man at once!"

"Yes, sir!" came the reply. Two of the men ran out of the room. Moments later, sirens could be heard outside, as the Stoklomolvi observers opened the window to peer down. Indeed, the man was floating in the water, rather still, and curious onlookers were starting to gather on the shore. A fishing boat and a police patrol boat also headed for the man, as they both had seen a body fall out of the tall building. Meanwhile, inside the building, Minister Wang was absolutely furious.

"Mr Frederick, you have violated this country's laws and customs innumerable times since you have been here. This entire negotiation has been a sham, and now you may have killed a man." He pointed at Frederick. "Security, escort this man back to the airport and deport him from China. You may have diplomatic immunity, but wanton murder, attempted or otherwise, on Chinese soil is not smiled upon. I hope you realise that actions have consequences."

The Stoklomolvi observers excused themselves to the Foreign Minister and left the room. Foreign Minister Wang and his assistants also left the room, leaving Frederick in the handcuffs of PLA soldiers to be escorted back to his aircraft.

Shortly after, the Ministry of State Security released video and audio footage of the incident to Stoklomolvi officials, who then opted to leak the information to foreign press. There was concern amongst the Stoklomolvi Foreign Affairs Commissariat that their own Stoklomolvi Central News Agency would not be trusted as accurate, so instead, BBC, CNN, Fox, Al Jazeera, and other agencies were contacted to review the footage. With multiple feeds all depicting the same event, in addition to external security cameras that showed the same event from varying angles, there was no doubt that Prince Frederick had defenestrated a diplomatic official into the harbour.

Inside of the parliament building
Dublin,Tyrannyicalist

"HAN KONG NOT HONG KONG" is heard being yelled by protesters in the streets of Dublin. The citizens were horrified by the ARS king throwing a Stokolomovi diplomat out of a window and Dublin's public opinion was turning against the ARS. Police stood in intersection entrances guarded by roadblocks arms linked to prevent the protest from escalating.

Robert Wertling was inside the parliament building having a debate on what to do about the Hong Kong crisis. The normally orderly atmosphere of the house of representatives seems to have broken down. The parliament started out calmly. "The reason for this parliamentary gathering today is to discuss the Hong Kong crisis, the changing will of the people and the misconduct of the ARS".The president starts saying "Whilst I agree that the ARS committed both an international crime and is seriously escalating the situation, it would be preposterous to allow China to continue suppressing the people of Hong Kong". The parliament building swiftly erupts into chaos.

After an hour of yelling and argument the speaker of the court finally manages to restore order within the building and organize a more civilized debate into parliament. A pro-ARS speaker announces "The misdemeanour of the ARS king should be ignored in reach of the greater good, allowing the chinese to stifle the will of the people in the region and allowing the nation to spread it's communist influence would be akin to appeasement. Neutrality can not be accepted either, in this context neutrality means indirectly aiding the chinese.". A pro-China speaker announces "Hong Kong belongs to the chinese, it is their terrority and it settled by the han chinese. The misconduct of the ARS king is also a clear disrespect of diplomatic ettiquette and leaves a dangerous precedent of future diplomatic meetings. Hong Kong is also a matter of pride for the chinese due to the previous wars with the british. China is also a superpower and with Stokolomovi also backing it China is unlikely to cede the terrority."

A vote is held within the building, 51% pro-China and 49% pro-ARS. The odds are unsatisfying to parliament and another vote is held to have a referendum. The referendum is passed and the results are 65% pro-china and 35% pro-ARS.
Keep in mind that my nation has nothing to do with my real life political views, it's just funner to play as a crackpot slavedriver then a goody two shoes

Hong Kong

The crowds surged with anger and resentment as their Prince was led from the building in handcuffs. It seems that the communist state news medias ideas of a defenestration had fallen deaf ears, being disregarded as fake news and propaganda to all those who supported annexation. American media outlets outright refused to consider it, given pressure from The Crown. Those same hundreds of thousands who had rejoiced on the Prince's arrival now shouted for his immediate release, in a cacophony that never seemed to end. Bottles, garbage and your assorted variety of vegetables were thrown at the escorts holding him prisoner.

Just outside the airport, the royal guards and Princess Andrea awaited her husband. Stifling their laugh at the approach, Andrea bowed and had the guards take Prince Frederik off their hands...and quietly seized them. The men handed to the crowds for whatever the crowds felt like doing to them for molesting the person of their prince. Brushing off his uniform, he put his pen back into his hat. He turned to his wife and laughed again.

"It seems my negotiations went a lot better than yours." Andrea said. "They're here and await your move."

"There are no windows nearby, so they don't need to hide." Frederik replied with a smile. "Bring them out."

The guards brought forward two who had been enemies up to this point in time. After Frederik had broken off for his negotiation, Andrea had slipped off into the revolutionary crowds to speak with its members, and ascertain what could be done after the transition of power to help this city rebuild its unity. She did what Americans were great at, even in a monarchy like theirs. She campaigned, convinced, and obviously kissed every infant handed to her. Her time in Hong Kong so far has been what's been playing in American media over the fake window story for the last two days. In these two days she'd met with two very important people in this crisis, and working through them she'd brought them to an agreement...an interim one, but one that'd aid in forcing a peaceful transition of power.

"Madam Lam, Mr. Wong. It truly is a pleasure to meet you both." Prince Frederik said, bowing in a manner of respect for both. "Are you ready to free your city from the grip of tyranny?"

"Of course." Wong said. "We are ready, but is she?"

"If I must." Lam said with disdain. "I agreed with the proposal of your wife...but did you really throw an innocent man from a window!?"

"I did. He was far from innocent though."

"Why?"

"To prove I don't make empty threats. Plus, he'd been having an affair with my son, and my son needs to wed. He's thirty-five."

"What? How can-"

"Back to the matter at hand, Lam." Wong said. "Your wife made assurances. Can you confirm them?"

"Of course. Lam will continue as executive during the transition, and will 'adopt' you as heir to the Duchy." Frederik replied. "You will name her family into the nobility along with the four great families. Hong Kong will get a large chunk of change from the government, and we will take residence in this city ourselves for a few years to personally oversee its peace. We planned this deal out well on the trip here, along with my father. Shall we announce, then?"

"What of Wang Yi?"

"He will attend." Frederik replied with a smile. "My seizure has put this city into a furor. It's not safe for him to leave anyway."

Remounting their horses, the guards, the prince, as well as Lam and Wong reentered Hong Kong. Confusion at seeing Lam next to Wong gave way to cheers once again seeing the Prince broken from his handcuffs, him waving them about and waving at the crowds. He too now had suffered at the hands of Communist tyranny. This was the message being broadcast around the world. The crowds still jeered at Lam as she approached, but this was to be expected. At Frederik's signal the band played up again, and The Battle Hymn of The Republic brought rejoicing from all. "Glory, Glory, Halleujah!" and "The Stars Up in Heaven Are Looking Kindly Down!" could be heard being sung by the crowds. An announcement went to American media outlets that a press conference would be held at Victoria Harbor (in front of the same building) in due time.

Corrupt Dictatorship

Postby Svadyetsk » Sat Dec 14, 2019 9:32 am

In the United Soviet States of Svadyetsk, the reaction to the news footage of Prince Frederik throwing a man out of a window is one of outrage. To avoid the footage being seen as government propaganda, the state news outlets wait until the story has been aired on foreign networks, accessible via pirate radio and the Internet, before it broadcasts its own coverage. This blatant act of murder is seen by the normally cynical populace as a vindication of the government's anti-Western stance. Mobs gather outside the RSA embassy, held off only by the fixed bayonets of units of the People's Revolutionary Guards Corps. The government calls an emergency meeting of the People's Chamber of Deputies to discuss the matter.

'Justice! Justice! Justice!'

The crowds swell in Duovograd, demanding a response from the RSA embassy. Stones fly over the heads of the PRGC guardsmen, now backed up by squads of riot police, to clatter against the windows and walls of the embassy.

In the People's Chamber of Deputies, numerous members rise to denounce the actions of the Prince of Columbia.

'This heinous act is a sign of the corruption of power that exists within the capitalist Royal States of America! We must demand that the so-called Prince be brought to account for his actions! I call upon the General Secretary and President to lead our nation in support of the People's Republic of China!'

As the session adjourns, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs begins churning out statements to be delivered to various governments.

To:The Governments of the World
From:Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Soviet States

To the leaders of the world,

The United Soviet States of Svadyetsk hereby condemns the actions of the Royal States of America. The actions of the Prince of Columbia must be held to account by the nations of the world. In addition, the United Soviet States opposes the illegal annexation of Hong Kong by the Royal States and supports the People's Republic of China in the defense of its sovereignty.

The United Soviet States has no desire to see the South China Sea dragged into war and urges all parties involved to strive to solve this crisis in a fair and peaceful manner.

In the interests of preserving the lives of the people of Hong Kong, the United Soviet States announces its intention to dispatch medical personnel of the People's Army to Hong Kong and seeks permission to do so from the government of the People's Republic of China.

From,
Viktor Yegorev
Minister of Foreign Affairs

To:The Government of the Royal States of America
From:Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Soviet States

The United Soviet States of Svadyetsk greets the government of the Royal States of America.

The United Soviet States urges the government of the Royal States of America to strive to ease tensions in this contentious issue. With this in mind, the United Soviet States recommends that the American envoy in Hong Kong, the so-called Prince Frederik, be stripped of his diplomatic immunity and prosecuted in a court of law for the unprovoked murder of a diplomat of the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation. The United Soviet States feels that this action would help to ease the outrage felt by both the People's Republic of China and the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation. It is the opinion of the United Soviet States that it is justified in recommending this course of action. If a diplomat of the United Soviet States had committed such actions as those perpetrated by the so-called Prince of Columbia, the United Soviet States feels that the government of the Royal States of America would not be delayed in its demands for the operation of justice.

In order to expedite the resolution of this conflict, the United Soviet States urges the Royal States of America to continue negotiations with the People's Republic of China and the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation and to do so in a calm and respectful manner.

Viktor Yegorev
Minister for Foreign Affairs

From: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Soviet States

The United Soviet States of Svadyetsk wishes to express its support for the People's Republic of China in its hour of crisis and acknowledges the support already given to the People's Republic by the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation.

In order to provide material assistance to the People's Republic of China, the United Soviet States offers the use of the People's Revolutionary Guards Corps for use in the maintenance of public order. Should the Royal States of America violate Chinese sovereignty through the use of military action, the United Soviet States will support the People's Republic of China and her allies.

In addition, the United Soviet States seeks permission for medical personnel of the People's Army to provide aid to the civilians of Hong Kong.

The United Soviet States would also like to offer assistance in negotiations and the resolution of the current crisis in any way that it can.

From,
Viktor Yegorev
Minister of Foreign Affairs

MON OF MAKI KOJIRO, SHOGUN OF THE EMPIRE OF GREATER NIFON

To the honorable secretary of the state of the Royal States of America;,

I am writing with mutual declaration of Kojiro-sama and opinion expressed by Her Augustness herself. The Empire of Greater Nifon considers the recent criminal act comitted by Fredrick-denka to be in violation of all international norms and standards of diplomatic behaviour. Not only that, a crime of murder was committed in broad daylight, casting an obvious shadow on Fredrick-denka's ability to lead.

As such, the Empire of Greater Nifon will be withdrawing from any and all trade negotiations recently proposed by the Shogunate. It is in view of Kojiro-sama that those negotiations no longer lie in the spectrum of national interests of the Empire of Greater Nifon.

The Empire of Greater shall monitor the situation, but abstain from direct involvement unless strategic Nifonese interests are threatened.

Honor guide you,

- TOKUGAWA ASUKA, MINISTER OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS OF THE EMPIRE OF GREATER NIFON

The recent behaviour of Fredrick-Denka is disgusting and abhorrent. It violates all rules of international diplomacy, and as such, I wish to publicly confirm the fact that the Empire of Greater Nifon will be withdrawing from all negotiations with RSA, including the trade negotiations that I have proposed.

George Fenwick announces that, due to Prince Frederick's "frankly absolutely fucking insane" behaviour, the Munkcestrian Republic's offer of a slave army to assist in the liberation of Hong Kong no longer stands.

[OOC: I think he tossed one of his own diplomats out of the window, but either way, it's still a foreign dignitary committing attempted or successful murder. Also, I think you missed the parts where I explicitly said that I did not have the Stoklomolvi state media broadcast it, rather I had sent the footage to independent news media. Also, Stoklomolvi is not communist.]

Throughout China

The Chinese authorities took note of the increasing external pressure in Hong Kong from the Royal States of America, and were forced to place the city into martial law and lockdown. Thousands of People's Armed Police were rapidly deployed to the outskirts of Hong Kong, preparing for riot control as the People's Liberation Army began mobilising its forward units to enter the city. Hong Kong would be the frontline for a defensive war, and as such, the Ministry of National Defence also began to mobilise reserve units in the rural regions. Factories normally producing consumer goods were starting to shift to produce ammunition and weapons instead. Highways and rail lines into Hong Kong were closed and used exclusively for military transport. On CCTV, the footage of Prince Frederick throwing a diplomat out of a window was played constantly throughout the country, inciting nationalistic fervour as cities across China raged at the audacity of the Royal States of America. Police units already in Hong Kong began a manhunt for any people from the Royal States of America with the intent to arrest and deport.

Chinese coast guard units all along the southern and eastern coasts were placed on high alerts. Submarine patrols were increased in frequency to monitor sea traffic incoming from the east and south. Emergency defences were dug along the coast in the form of concrete bunkers, trenches, sandbag positions, concealed ambush positions, and security checkpoints. At Shenzhen, AA batteries were deployed from the city into the surrounding hills. Artillery batteries were deployed inland and observers sighted in the guns on vulnerable coastal positions, such as beaches and flat shorelines.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi was immediately recalled to Beijing to deal with international repercussions of having had a diplomat assaulted on their soil. Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Defence, fearing that the Royal States of America would commit to a full-scale invasion of China to secure Hong Kong, communicated with the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation for assistance. Having already dedicated a number of fleets in the region for peacemaking purposes, the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation deployed two fleets into the South China Sea, where they would be used to ward off any probing attempts by the Royal States of America.

South China Sea

With authority given by the Ministry of National Defence of the People's Republic of China, the Stoklomolvi naval units made their move. Tens of thousands of sailors aboard hundreds of ships started rounding the Singaporean peninsula with the intent to enter the South China Sea from the south. While the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation recognised the nine dash line claimed by the People's Republic of China, the naval units stayed out of any established Exclusive Economic Zones and within strictly recognised international waters so as to avoid interim conflict on the way to Hong Kong. Escorted by the naval assets were tens of thousands of marines, also preparing to enter the city in anticipation of a naval invasion. The city of Hong Kong was focal point of defence, despite the city itself now starting to become torn apart by internal rioting. Hundreds of thousands of civilians on both sides were engaging in constant violence against each other, turning the city into a fiery hellscape. Water and electricity were cut from Hong Kong, and the People's Armed Police started to evacuate as many civilians as humanly possible from the city into neighbouring cities, such as Guangzhou.

Subject: Assistance in the Hong Kong Defence

The Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation is dismayed by the conduct of the Royal States of America and has began deploying forward assets into the region to assist in the defence of Hong Kong. Should the United Soviet States wish to provide support in the form of medical equipment and personnel in Hong Kong, the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation would be most grateful. The Foreign Affairs Commissariat would suggest refraining use of military assets at this time to avoid escalation; it is uncertain what the Royal States of America may attempt to do, should it be cornered and feel it has no other course of action. The intent of the current operations should be to intimidate the Royal States of America into withdrawing and standing down, and from there determine what the best course of action for the region should be.

[OPEN COMMUNIQUÉ]
Subject: Conduct of Prince Frederick and the Royal States of America

Recently, Stoklomolvi observers were watching the negotiations between Prince Frederick from the Royal States of America and Foreign Minister Wang Yi from the People's Republic of China. As is now evident, the mafia-like tactics used by Prince Frederick, wherein he assaulted a diplomat by throwing him out of a window, failed to work on Foreign Minister Wang, and the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation now urges the world to reevaluate their positions on the Royal States of America like many have already done. The Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation expresses its concern for the longevity of peace in Hong Kong, and, fearing that the Royal States of America may decide to take real action against China proper, has deployed its forward units into the South China Sea. These units will serve a defensive purpose only and will exist to blunt any attempts at a naval invasion of the Chinese coast. While the State Council of Stoklomolvi hopes that a peaceful resolution to the illegal annexation attempt is still possible, the Royal States of America has successfully communicated that it never desired peace at all; rather, the imperialist ambitions of the American government are plainly obvious for all to see.

The Commissar of Stoklomolvi expresses his regrets that the situation has developed this far, but the Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation stands firm in its two stances: the Royal States of America must not be allowed to successfully expand its territory, and the sovereignty of the People's Republic of China must remain intact.
