Two year devastation ended
and a nation at it's breaking point
The destructive Second Imperial War has ended. After two years of combat, the People's Democratic Union was forced to accept the Mesder Sea Treaty Organization's demands of surrender, disarmament of all biological and chemical weapons and reparations to the MSTO combatants, deeply de-legitimizing President Alešándr Nijarán’s ultranationalist and conservative policies. The President, formerly publically applauded and praised for his policies within the Aprosian People’s Front, was now being openly challenged by both his former conservative allies and the liberal opposition within the People’s Front. With the embarrassment of the war, combined with a stagnant economy suffering from years of economic sanctions, the Nijarán administration was facing its hardest times.
The liberal opposition against the conservatives formerly represented by the Nijarán was now gathering all of their strength against the conservatives and the Nijarán administration. The battleground had opened for the future of the Union and who would lead it for years to come.
Welcome to the Out-of-Character planning thread for an RP about the internal events of Aprosia after the Second Imperial War. This RP will take place during 2018 and will focus at the political system and its inner workings during politically and economically challenging times that followed the war in Aprosia. Decades of conservative Aprosian socialist rule had left Aprosia relatively isolated of the outside world and at odds with many of the regional powers, culminating in the war against the MSTO and leading to further pressure on the national economy.
Alongside the focuses previously mentioned, this RP is also designed to better explain what happened during 2018, part of my 1.5 year absence and to explain the political changes that occured during my absence.
The original idea was for me to RP this by myself, but thanks to both Miklania’s and Ainslie’s recommendations, I have planned to open this for other people to RP alongside me, through ambassadors stationed in Aprosia, intelligence reporting the changing situation and news following the events.
