Re: This nonsense in France.

As I sit here in my office – my air conditioned office, where I sit in a luxurious leather-padded swivel chair enjoying a fine cup of hot tea brewed to me by a very fine tea-brewing machine – I cannot help but be thankful to the thousands of engineers, designers, and businessmen who have made this possible. Among other things, I am very thankful to them for the fact that I am not living in Camarade Le Dragon's France, and were Le Dragon's goons to try their nonsense here, they would be shot by the Army, Navy, Air Force, Boy Scouts, the Liberty-City Police Department, and probably by some city garbage collectors for good measure.

When Camarade Le Dragon's dystopian ramblings were last discussed in the wrong press, we in the Free Kingdom took the view that while those ramblings were insane and dangerous, the people of France and Camarade Le Dragon himself could not possibly be so stupid as to implement some of their worst ideas literally. An industrial nation, festooned from shore to shore with atomic reactors, high-speed trains, and all manner of other inventions that over the years made mankind healthier, wealthier, and safer in a myriad ways, would surely not literally take upon a concerted method to destroy its own wealth. Surely they could not be this idiotic.

Yet if there is anything political history teaches us is that whenever you utter the phrase surely they cannot actually be this dumb, usually the answer is yes. Yes they can.

As we speak now, the "Dragon" movement has destroyed the Eifel Tower, and is destroying France's industrial base. Already now more damage has been done by these people to France, its economy, and its infrastructure than a foreign air force ever has. They are also attempting to fund terrorism worldwide to promote their "cause". Happily with this sort of economic policy they can scarcely hope to have much money to spend on terrorism!"

A campaign of religious murder against Catholics is also going on – on the bizarre logic that they hope to suppress Catholic resistance to their rule by murdering religious leaders, because that's totally how all previous Catholic guerrilla movements have always worked (for those of you who have slept in History class: no, they haven't).

The Free Kingdom of Allanea condemns all of this as misguided, morally decrepit, and outright stupid. I remind the Catholics of France that the Free Kingdom, as the leader-state of the Greater Prussian Empire, is committed to the principles of religious liberty, and welcomes them to our lovely country.
