Since you still seem to be paying attention to this thread: for future reference, you can put (CLOSED) or (INVITE ONLY) in the title to keep unwanted players from trying to join a thread. You don't need to ditch the forum to have closed RPs.

Before I entered the thread, I asked if you two had this planned out. I said I was considering bringing in a fleet, but didn't want to mess up your storyline. You and Bamsagol could've just told me you wanted to keep the thread between the two of you, but the response I got was that the outcome was undetermined. I thought you intended it as an open thread, and that if my actions were interfering with your plans for the RP you'd let me know. When things blew up, I wasn't going to argue with you here, since it was then clear that you two actually wanted this to be a closed RP, and since squabbling between players rarely accomplishes anything. But since you're bringing this back up after so long, I guess I'll reply.

Bamsagol didn't declare my leaders' opinions - you did. "After hearing the claim that the Vaxinatorians were unbeatable from their leaders, the General was reported to have laughed for so long that he ruptured several blood vessels, he is fine fortunately" Was this supposed to be a lie your people were spreading? It seemed like you were attributing the claim to my characters.

1500 deaths isn't god mode; posting another player's damage without permission is, no matter the number. I tried to explain why I feel that way in my objection, and it's not just me that thinks that. The International Incidents sticky describes godmode as: "To describe what happens to another player's characters, forces, etc. without the player's consent; refusing to take losses; having absurdly powerful characters, military forces, or technology; having a state's geography (or other features) designed in such a way as to provide an undue advantage. Examples include describing how a missile hits another player's ship, describing casualties or fatalities of another player's characters, or saying another player's character dies. Doing such is a violation of community standards, but not against the rules. Players should allow for the other player to describe the "effect" of any event (such as a military engagement) unless they have their permission to describe such. May also include any activity which otherwise violates community standards, broadly speaking."

Of course, that's just a guideline, not a rule. If you and Bamsagol are happy letting each other post your damages, that's fine, but if you wanted to RP with the general II FT community, you'd probably need to get used to the convention that players post their own damage.

Now, maybe you thought my Greatship was absurdly powerful. I used it because I figured the main focus would be about the fighting on the planet. I wanted a force of soldiers big enough to be a real factor, but not big enough to casually dominate everything. I don't have hundreds of troop transports just wandering through space on their own. If you'd said "Hey, that giant ship seems like major overkill. Could you use something more reasonable instead?", I would have explained that it isn't quite as tough as it looks, because a big chunk of it is devoted to civilian purposes, and also that I was planning on keeping it well away from the planet and out of the fighting. Doing enough damage to its fleet would drive it away. I'd let you decide if that was acceptable or not. If you didn't want it around, I would have been happy to drop out.

When did I say that your commanders didn't think they could beat my forces? Bamsagol had a post with his Land and Air commanders talking, in which they didn't think they could win the war against you. I posted an OOC comment that it seemed weird to me that they would be so confrontational toward a group that was willing to help them when they were already in a war they didn't think they could win against a different group. Sure, they might be confident they could beat the vaxintorian group, but why would they want to risk taking serious casualties when your forces were already more than they thought they could handle? It just seemed odd to me. Maybe I wasn't as clear about that as I intended - I was rushed because of the power outage - but I certainly didn't mean that any of your leaders thought my forces were unbeatable.

You say that "letting me stat" would be a nightmare, but I never actually had a chance to respond to an attack. You have no idea how I would have handled it. I don't mind taking reasonable losses, or even mildly unreasonable losses. One of the reasons I picked this nation to involve in the thread is because vaxintorians don't use a lot of power armor or giant tank legions or the like, so an enemy with less advanced technology can still manage to kill them. I just object to having someone else declare my losses without permission, especially if they don't even make sense.
