So...is the native language actually a language or is it just babble?

The reason I ask is because the demons speak two languages that I developed for them: Royal Demon and Doch. And they ARE legitimate, with full grammar that includes tenses, which not every language has (Hebrew doesn't have tenses, for example) and parts of speech.

It's Norwegian, which I'm pretty sure is a language. Bu it might just be babble.

It's Norwegian, which I'm pretty sure is a language. Bu it might just be babble.

Doch is a very standard amero-european style language. It is my answer to esperonto. Esperonto angered feminists by having multiple words for "the" and havning the word for "the" that they call the "masculine" version take precidence over the one that they call "feminine," even though the categories are just made up. In Doch, the article of the noun follows the person of the verb. No more argument.

I wanted to make Royal Demon difficult for an English speaker and also to sound--well--demonic. So I borrowed the characteristic from Latin that, instead of using word order to determine the part of speech as we do with English, Royal Demon uses syntactic marker syllables. It uses a very different set of markers than Latin does, and thus it sounds like something you would expect a demon to use for a language. For example, "ge" is the root form of the first person pronoun. "Ge-ac" ("ac" indicating subject) is "I" and ge-ach ("ach" indicating object or compelement of a verb) is "me."

Like Latin, a sentence in Royal Demon can be spoken in any order, with word order used to indicate emphasis.

Shak-et-ec es-ach ge-ach! GIVE me that!
Es-ach ge-ach shak-et-ec! Give me THAT!
Ge-ach es-ach shak-et-ec! Give ME that!


Like the language used in the earlier posts (the author wrote that it was Norweigian), these ones, which you may find Damnage speaking from time to time, have actual grammar rules.

Well, if you want Damnage to interact with the city guard, then maybe they could "catch" him near the scene of the crime, or you could just continue with what you had planned if you want to.

Name of House: The Seidoryu Clan

Holdings: (Max four): As in the old days, Seidoryu clan holds their ancestral province of Hara, at the further top of the Empire of Greater Nifon.

Holding Descriptions: Hara province is an area in the northernmost edge of the Empire of Greater Nifon. Hara faces the ocean, with it's coastline dominated with rocky cliffs, with a limited number of cand-covered beaches in between. Deeper inland, the area is mountainous, with a number of active volcanoes; the mountains tower over the landscape, going as far as two thousand meters in their tall. The area between two mountain ranges is split by a river and accompanying it valley, where most of the population concentrates. Climate here is harsh, winters long and cold, while summers short, but extremely warm.

The area is extremely rich in natural resources, with a considerable abundance of mines. In one such area is the city of Okayama - an urban zone that grew around the famed Okayama castle, from which Kenshin Murakami once governed the area, before becoming the taiko.

The newly risen daimyo had, at that time a plethora of problems - namely, his nominal vassals in a province next door not necessarily willing to pay the tribute required from them. Harumune thus concluded that a military campaign to subdue them is necessary. The original founders of Seidoryu clan were among many conscripted into his forces.

During a march through a mountainous road, an adder was about to bite the Aizu daimyo. One of the two Seidoru brothers, using nothing else but the stick, struck the adder just as it was about to bite, earning himself recognition in his master's eyes. The more Sanada lord got to know the two brothers, the more he understood their courage and cunningness; and thus, started promoting them and giving them various responsible tasks, such as organizing the construction of military camps. Due to efficiency with which the tasks were performed, Sanda nobilitated them and included into the samurai caste. Finally, after the two brothers managed to enact a ruse that resulted in fall of a castle declared impossible to capture, they were appointed governors of Hara, while Harumune himself went to campaign elsewhere.

While Harumune was away, and his attention diverted, conflicts begun to start between the brothers, which later turned into a civil war. Forces of Masakatsu's brother won, but their commander was killed in battle, leaving two children; Lady Hikari and her brother. The two children fought against their uncle, and - at the cost of Hikari's brother's life - managed to push him back.

Hikarihime was a woman not shying away from donning armor and fighting alongside her vassals, but the pressure of those arround her finally forced her to seek a candidate for a husband. That candidate was Murakami no Kenshin Ryusuke, who - after marrying her - defeated Seidoryu Masakatsu, who became his vassal from that time on. Subsequently, Kenshin launched a massive set of military campaigns south, in order to restore the Emperor to power usurped by the Suda family. After seven years of fighting, Kenshin entered Kiyosu with intention of restoring the Emperor; but the Emperor did not want to be restored, leaving Kenshin to assume the title of taiko and rule the country in his stead.

Following his victory in Sonjo war, Kenshin moved his power base south, to the vicinity of capital; while Hara was left to Masakatsu's offspring.

However, not everything was perfect in Hara, as certain segments of the population attempted to manipulate the young daimyo to their own gain. Others outright sought to undermine him, and a considerable part of local samurai were not eagerly swayed to the new Daimyo, which prompted him to seek a chance to prove himself. That chance arrived when he learned of events in faraway Empire. Perhaps a victorious military campaign overseas is exactly what he needs...

The Southern Cities will always hire mercenaries, so you could post about your people walking up to Roberhold and asking for an audience with King Eilmund to, like Twelve Isles is doing in the North, or you could send a messenger to herald your arrival. Alternatively you could work with the Imperials, who'll also hire mercenaries, however you'd put your characters in harms way simply by being near the Emperor.

Holding Descriptions: A settlement that has residental buildings that look stereotypically tribal but made with stone beyond the buildings it is clear that the entire city is made for one purpose, to make the enemy bleed and to make the enemy burn. The city has tall and opposing exterior and interior walls. Each building is known to hold atleast a months worth food per law, with each building interior clearly designed to make it difficult for an invader to navigate and make it easy for a defender to defend.

History: Though the exact origins of The Sentinelese People are hard to pin down, what is known that the first reports of what is believed to The Sentinelese appeared around 500 years ago. Early reports stated they came from strange but clearly battered boats thay have been clearly traveling for some time. Known for their strange dark complexion they found homes on the southern coastline. Eventually the population concentrated itself in a settlement near Roberhold known as Constantnipple were there leader, Ofrikom established a system of Isolationism with The Sentinelese paying tribute to whoever rules the general area they were in exchange for being left alone. But with civil brewing, can Constantnipple maintain this system of isolation for much longer? With Ogabon set to die any day now it will be up to The Elder Council to choose Ogadon's successor from his three children, Asuwi, Selaket, and Waserik, and each have very different ideas about what direction The Sentinelese should go towards next.

Ogadon is known by many as possibly the most ruler in existence. He was so boring because it was his goal to be boring. He striped to be boring because he believed that the heart was weakened by stress. He also believed that both stress almond excitement were the same thing, and that the only difference was the temperature. Don't question how temperature can even be applied to things such a stress and excitement. He wore plain cloths, even though he owned his father's epic robes. He ate bland food and talked in about monotone voice all the time. Even when his 2nd cousin/wife died he was like "oh, that's unfortunate".
