In the small Western African of Togolo, the two year civil war to topple corrupt president and dictator Ekon Jafari has concluded today with Rebel troops marching on the capital city Yamoussoukro and after a fierce firefight with the presidential guard, Jafari was arrested and placed in temporarily confinement with him facing to expect trial and the death penalty. In 2012 Jafari took over the country in a coup that placed his justice and development party in power, with the help of the military and foreign backers he placed the country into chaos, mass privatisation along with authoritarianism caused thousands of people imprisoned, tortured and killed and also millions were placed under the poverty line. His reforms also included banning other political parties, cutting public services such as the free healthcare system which increased the infant mortality rate by a staggering 25%. Of course this was ignored by other countries especially that of the west as Jafari bribed them into promising Togolo's vast mineral wealth if they backed his regime.
In 2017 the Northern and Southern regions rose up against the government and the Togoloan civil war began, the country would become incredibly unstable and develop into anarchy as 50,000 would be killed in the conflict and 600,000 more be displayed, many of which would become refugees in neighbouring nations as the war became more and more violent over the weeks as it dragged on. Togolo's thick jungles would provide excellent cover for the rebels using guerrilla tactics and attacked supply lines severally weakening the military until they finally marched into villages, towns and cites on august 2018.
The two main rebel groups, the northern National Democratic Front (NDF) and the southern Togolo People's Liberation Army (TPLA) are expected to form a coalition government until fully democratic elections begin, however, the two groups are fiercely opposed to each other and have different visions for the nation and fears of a second civil war soon after the first one are arising. But now both organisations along with the civilian population are now celebrating their victory over the Ekon regime and the end to the civil war.
For now the revolutionary transitional council is now in power until the coalition has formed and would handle foreign affairs, now that the war is over, how would the world react?
