OOC: Hello, sorry for double-posting, it's just I had forgotten to put the previous post on MT, and as such got attacked with large amounts of alien technology. Anyway, here we are.

King Sarkos IV steps out onto the balcony out in front of Tunchix palace, and gazes at the cheering crowd below. Television cameras point at him. Reinkalis at home watch through the TV screens. At Tosdoda harbour, the King's namesake ship, the flagship of the navy, HMS Sarkos stands proudly, with Maso Tunchix, the admiral of the fleet and heir apparent saluting from the stern. All three Royal Commanders stand before the crowd. South Reinkali flags wave, and a massive steel construction of the Tunchix coat-of-arms is held up by five men in the crowd. There is an unmistakably jubilant atmosphere, and Sarkos takes a moment to bask in it before tapping the microphone. The sound quickly causes the once roaring crowd to fall into silence. From the door, the Queen silently walks up beside the King.

'Reinkalis! Countrymen! Comrades! I stand before you today to deliver a message unto you, and to the world. For a long time, we have been preparing. Where there once stood hastily-organised militias, there is now a proud army, with proud Reinkalistani men serving in it. I would like to take this moment to congratulate each and every man in the army for making their country proud. I am humbled to have such individuals serve under me. We are not a state with an army, nor are we an army with a state. We are a people with an army! A people with a state!' Sporadic cheers erupt from the crowd. The King smiles. 'Yes. Truly, all of us owe these men a great debt, myself included. But as great as they are, congratulating them is not the sole purpose of my national address. For you see, it is time that South Reinkalistan made a move onto the national stage. It is time we began to look beyond our borders, as the great Deplukiriv Reinkal once did. We do not have a particularly large population. Our technology is not state-of-the-art. But what is a populace without spirit? Technology without willpower? Because I see both spirit and will in everyone gathered here today. Every Reinkali man and woman is imbued with the blood of warriors!' More cheers from the crowd. The King is speaking with more fervour now, gesturing wildly with his hands. 'And so, I tell you today, for I would not lie to my own subjects, that I will make sure that, ten years from now, South Reinkalistan will be twice the size it is today! The very presence of foreign nations on our borders, occupying land that is ours by birthright, is appalling. It disgusts me.' Murmurs of agreement ripple throughout the assembled Reinkalistanis. 'So I announce that from now on, that we shall no longer tolerate the presence of these nations! Through righteous Reinkali sword, fire and blood, we shall prevail. Tosdoda and Reinkal live within our hearts! These great men gave us hope! These great men gave us glory! But from now on, I will not be the sole one to deliver glory to South Reinkalistan. We Reinkalistanis will seize destiny as a collective! We are one! We are immortal! We are South Reinkalistan!' The King's fervour has now reached the crowd. They are in positive uproar, and the flags are waving and relativistic speeds. 'So I implore you all to take up arms! The road ahead shall not be easy! It will be excruciatingly difficult! But unlike our enemies, when faced with adversity, Reinkalistanis rise to the challenge! If there is an afterlife, then I have no doubt that the Great Men of old are smiling! For they know, as do I, and as do all of us, that South Reinkalistan shall not be suppressed! We shall be victorious, and we shall write history! Glory to the bold!'

The crowd has reached fever pitch. They begin to echo the nation's motto in a deafening chart. The King has a wide grin on his face. He puts his arm around his wife, and begins to walk back inside the palace. The HMS Sarkos begins to set sail, and the commanders retreat back to their stations. South Reinkalistan has openly declared their intention to subjugate the surrounding nations, and it remains to be seen what the international community will make of this. However, one thing is clear. The Reinkalistani people expect nothing less than absolute victory, something their King seems ready to deliver by any means necessary. As the sun sets over the Ontosu river, one thing is certain - South Reinkalistan shall never be the same again.

I happened to catch your speech on the even news last night and I was moved by your confidence and devotion to your nations success. Those qualities are what prompted me to write this communique and to establish communication between your nation and my company. I will not disregard the fact that your nation will indeed receive push back from declaring this type of national policy from the broader international community and you will likely incur some form of economic sanction against your nation as a means of coercing you into changing said policy.

From man to man, reversing this policy now will only weaken your position in the world both nationally, and internationally- Bend once and they will expect you to bend again. All of this, however, is why I'm contacting you now. My company is housed and based in an international economic free zone generously provided by the Kornosian people for the purpose of building a more sanction resistant economic system internationally. My company specializes in a few key industries that are sure to not only take the brunt of any economic sanction, but will even enable you and your nations armed forces to remain at full strength during these trying times.

We also offer a wide array of Military augmentation services which can produce you with additional man power and military power which you can field against your enemies. We can also, if the situation become more dire, extend financial assistance loans to your nation at market low interest rates in order to ensure public utilities and services continue in spite of any economic downturns your nation suffers as national policy is carried out.

Today was like any other day at the office, thousands of office workers buzzed about their daily routines of paperwork, coffee, and team building exercises. This included Colderons secretary as she oved out her office space just on the other side of her bosses office doors filing paperwork and answering phone calls. Everything was completely normal... that was until a lone persona walked through the elevator baring a seal letter with the crest of the South Reinkalistan royal seal upon the wax fixture.

The courier bowed slightly and placed the letter on her desk before turning and walking back to the elevator and promptly leaving the building, which would have taken almost 30 minutes from Colderon Office. The secretary knew from experience that breaking the seal of such letters was frowned upon by her boss so she quietly slipped into his office to deliver the letter. Colderon was a large man, with powerful and intense eyes. His office was exquisitely designed with black marble flooring and gold plated emblem of the Corporation embossed upon the tiles with his large, solid wood cheery wood desk stationed at the head of the room closets to a full wall of glass windows. Around the room where relics and artifacts of various ancient civilizations all locked away in vacuum sealed cases positioned in between massive pillars of obsidian with golden runes. The lighting was well hidden with no visible points of origin to be found giving a sense of awe and wonder upon entering.

Approaching his desk she saw her boss turned around looking out of the windows onto the cityscape where only two other buildings rose to match their own. She took a seat in one of the two large plush ostrich leather seats and gave a quite cough to alert him of her presence.

What news do you bring?" he asked without turning around. meekly she placed the letter on his desk and replied. A courier arrived from south Reinkalistan only moments ago and delivered a letter to you. I didn't open it since it was sealed and I brought it straight to you sir. Colderon turned around to face her and took the letter, breaking it seal and reading its contents. Colderon was impressed with the craftsmanship of the letter; while most would have sent an email, this royal knew how to respond with class.

Prep a delegation team to leave for South Reinkalistan immediately. I want constant updates of the meetings progress. I also want Azuala on the team to oversee the contract signing if they take place.

The secretary got up and left to do as he instructed...

Arriving at South Reinkalistan's Capital city international Airport

The trip was but a few hours, but the nerves of meeting a new client were always enough to jumble the brains a bit making trips feel alot longer then they actually where. On board the solid Raven aircraft was Azuala Zion, Daughter of the C.E.O. and C.F.O. of the Corporation in her own right. She was a capable and shrew business woman with an eye for people and social interaction. Accompanying her was Business Development Manager Melvin Oscar and C.S.O Aegies Ikcarus, his job was to present the possible security proposal and for protection of Azuala.

After getting landings clearance the aircraft touched down and taxied to a private hanger rented out by the Corporation for this very occasion. Awaiting their arrival was a motorcade and more security. One by one luggage was unpacked and the delegation entered the vehicles to be taken to the hotel they where to be staying at. Azuala got in the truck and closed the door behind her and made herself comfortable before looking to the driver and asking. What would you consider the best hotel in this city? Tha'ts where we will be staying. She wanted a chance to freshen up some before meeting with the South Reinkalistan's royal family and advisers for dinner- a friendly meet and greet free of talk of business.

The King's study was dark, lit by a single wax candle. Dusty tomes on seemingly endless bookshelves stretched to the wall, where a window provided the only other source of light. Sarkos IV was busy writing a speech to address the nation with, notifying them of the affairs with Ravencorps, should there be a successful deal. Having such things prepared in advance saved so much trouble later on. Suddenly, there was a rather loud knock on the door. Sarkos sighed. Only one man had the audacity to knock like that, knowing that he could not be punished no matter how brash he was - Monti Tchu, Top Killer of the Royal Elite Corps.

"Come in, Tchu." Monti obliged, pushing the door open.

"Your Highness, my informants tell us that Colderon Zion's daughter has arrived. She is residing in the hotel Tosdoda and seeks to do business." Monti spoke in a tone that showed his utter disinterest in the situation - the man would much rather be on a military operation, or training new recruits. But the news he brought was indeed fortuitous.

"I see. Well, call for my Son and the Prime Minister. Oh, and make sure they take Fiktru as well." Talking to Monti sapped the King's energy. He spoke in a fast, abrupt manner, and if any other man had spoken in such a manner to the King, they would not last much longer in the court. But this man was an asset who the Kingdom could not afford to lose.

Tchu furrowed his brow. "Who's that?"

"Fiktru Sastino? just the Minister of Economics. Nobody of your concern, by the way." The King now spoke with some steel in his voice, to remind the soldier that he was pushing his luck. Sarkos had high tolerance for the attitudes of skilled individuals, but there was also a limit.

"I see. Well, I will see you later. Glory to the Bold!" With that, Monti walked out. No bow. Come to think of it, he hadn't bowed on the way in either. Sarkos chuckled. With so much fawning in the court to earn favour, it was sort of refreshing to have a man who saw him as an equal. Come to think of it, the soldier's legendary reputation might mean that he felt the same way about the King. Either way, these were things to consider for another time. For now, it was time to talk business. He reached for his crown, before noticing it was missing. 'Ah.' He said to himself slowly. 'This is Maximillian's doing.' The King's three-year-old son had childish curiosity and a penchant for shiny things, and stole the Crown from right under the King's nose on a regular basis. 'Perhaps I should make him a tax collector when he's older.' Mused the King, and chuckled at the thought.

Now, time for business.

I, Maki Kojiro, Shogun of the Empire of Greater Nifon, am addressing this letter to honorable majesty of south Reinkalistan, with full consent of Her Augustness the Heavenly Sovereign. The Empire of Greater Nifon acknowledges the toppling of barbaric communist regime, that up until recently had dominated the Reinkalistani politics; and for that, his majesty has our most sincere congratulations. The recent words spoken by his majesty however, do rise concern in the officials of the Shogunate.

On behalf of the Empire of Greater Nifon, I officially wish to request a statement about where, and in which direction the Reinkalistani government intends to carry out this expansion. The Empire of Greater Nifon is not the world's policeman, and does not deem as it's interest to interfere with activities of Reinkalistani government at present time. However, according to the Ishikawa doctrine, the Empire of Greater Nifon is will not tolerate foreign expansion in region of Southern Furukuran Sea, especially one of gaijin colonialist power. It is reasonable thus to announce that the Empire of Greater Nifon considers Southern Furukuran sea to be it's sphere of influence.

Should Reinkalistani state acknowledge the region of Southern Furukuran sea as Nifonese sphere of influence vital to Nifonese strategic interests, the Empire of Greater Nifon will likewise not interfere with future activities of Reinkalistani government as long as they do not pose a threat to national interests of Greater Nifon. Citing the geopolitical potential of the Nifonese Empire, the sons of Admiral Yu are not a foe Reinkalistan wants to have against itself; therefore, on behalf of Nifonese government I imply that an agreement is made. Should Reinkalistani government agree, future options for partnership may be pursued; including expansion of trade relations, arms sales, and possibility of cooperation with largest anti-communist alliance in the world, of which Nifon is one of most important member.

A few days after sending the letter, a rider appears at the court of Maki Kojiro. He carries an envelope with the Royal Seal of South Reinkalistan, and requests that it be delivered to the Emperor. It reads, in the King's own handwriting:

Thank you for your words of support for our cause. In regards to your concerns regarding the Southern Furukuran sea, have no fear - we do not have much business on the seas. We consider to take back the region of 'Old Reinkalistan' - the fertile plains just south of us that were nearly taken during the Conkirasp are now within our grasp. This is where we consider to undertake our expansion - but do not worry. I doubt you have much interest in this area. In case you do, we are uploading a map of the regions we wish to take during our 'Hevangocon', the War of Righteous Fury, to our Factbook very soon. If you have any concerns, then you may negotiate. However, I do not doubt I or the Reinkalistani people will be willing to concede much here. We have bent the knee many times during our history. We will not do so again - not until the last Reinkalistani man dies, myself included.

However, on a more co-operative note, I would like to discuss further relations with your nation. I think that joint naval talks may be beneficial to us - I feel my son has much to learn from your admirals. However, I would not send you a note audaciously requesting such a thing without offering something in return. I would grant you 1,000 soldiers of the Royal Elite Corps to serve in your army. Do not be fooled by the meagre number of these men - they are of a warrior caste, trained from the age of six onwards. Each one of these men has been personally inspected and reviewed by me or a trusted court official. They will swear loyalty to you personally, and fight anyone - even us, God forbid it come to that.

And that concludes this short message. I believe that further agreements could almost certainly be made between our great nations, but for now I believe that what I have presented shall suffice as a deal for now - although His Excellency can make a counter-offer if he so chooses. Either way, it was a pleasure writing to you. I should definitely visit Greater Nifon one day - I hear they have beautiful mountains; my second son is an avid explorer and considers your scenery to be among the most striking. Glory to the bold.

I happened to watch your broadcast a week ago and was moved by your words about the unity of the Reinkalistan people. the way you were able to inspire your people and how you have been able to maintain your country's national pride is glorious. through these actions, it has moved me to offer assistance in your current endeavor.

If you accept my nations offer I will personally come to sign the agreement so as to show how invested we are in this endeavor.

[The Archipelago Territory]

2 Hours Earlier

Command Ops, New Lifewell Executive Command Center

The President rushed into the war room, and sat down in his chair. Tons of generals and others were standing, wondering why he had called them there. “We’re going to war” he he said, sitting down. It came as a surprise to all except for Vice President Cooper, the President’s wife, Sofia (who was not normally present in the war room), and his Secretary of Military Affairs, who had all been informed prior to his announcement. Even the Acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs and the Commander in Chief of the International Guard were shocked.

“Might I ask why my Agency, which is critical for a war effort, was not informed prior to today, and why we are going to war?” asked Head of the Federal Cybersecurity Agency. The President hesitated. “Today, I was informed by my Chief Advisor that a Nation about 100 miles out from here, which borders us (it is 2 miles from our waters) was going to invade its nearby territories in order to expand. This unprovoked act of war will not be tolerated.” As the top military officials discussed their options for two hours, the F.R.S. Richmond was on its way to South Reinkalistan. They had no idea what was coming. While they would be worried about an Aircraft Carrier being sent to their Nation, 10 bombers would be flying to South Reinkalistan, ready to strike Tosdoda Harbor and the HMS Sarkos, slowing down the ship for a couple hours.


At Franklin Air Force Base, members of the International Guard Air Brigade, a branch of the Department of Foreign Affairs, not a military unit, is preparing to attack South Reinkalistan, and the Media is already writing stories about the unusual activity. They seem to support the war, mostly interpreting King Sarkos’ words as threats, and are inviting military experts to figure out the situation.

Some newspapers, however, are fearing a war on Archipelago soil, and are writing things like this: “The President doesn’t want to wait until South Reinkalistan gets too powerful, and he wants war to show off his military to the international stage, although he would never admit it.” International Guard member Commander Vasquez was being deployed for the third time. He resented the current government. This new President was exploiting the International Guard. Before, the former President only deployed them during a crisis, they were sort of like a fast response unit. But now, instead of using the military to settle his problems, the new President insisted on using the International Guard. Commander Vasquez’s pilots didn’t look so happy either. Instead of allying with South Reinkalistan, the President decided to attack them, even though they had allied with the Raven Corps and several other significant powers.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Federal Cybersecurity Agency wasn’t happy either. “Can you believe it? The President didn’t tell me about a war, then sent me here to this Air Force base just because it has good government-issued VPNs? Normally when I conducted a Cyberattack I had a team with me in my computer room, assisting me. Now he sent me here with you.” He was with three of his agents, a significant downsize from his 50-person computer room. The President underestimated how many agents he would need to pull this off. The International Guard and Archipelago Military (600,000 men) are both smaller than South Reinkalistan’s and the Raven Corps’ army. They wouldn’t stand a chance without a few cyberattacks to intercept communications.

Base Commander John Mardon, who was deploying the troops, was in favor of the attack. He knew that the Archipelago Military, like most others, worked better attacking, not defending. As he looked past his family photos, he shook hands with the pilots who were risking their lives today. While he was worried about the fight, the Tornado GR4s would strike, then regroup and head back to the base before they could be shot down. If any large land forces or naval ships attempted to follow, planes would fly over them and stop them from entering the Archipelago Territory. As he was in his office, the Lieutenant Base Commander passed by. “Sir we’re good to go in 5 minutes.” As he made his way to the runway, John was surprised to see the President there. He saluted him, and the President saluted back. The planes took off, as the President waved. “I thought you were at the Command Center” John tried to say over the roaring engine noises. “I thought I should stop here,” answered the President. “It’s a nice symbolic gesture, and I thought I should pay respects to the Soldiers who are risking their lives. The planes took off, flying to South Reinkalistan.

"Can they take action? Or is it just saber rattling?" Alois asked.
Minister of Defense Kattis looked over the data.
"I think they can. They have the means and will to. This nation just came out of a state of disarray, if you will. This new king, as he calls himself is trying to consolidate and solidify power. Though I suggest keeping an eye and MRF not far from the point of interest. In the mean, while we can try to embargo the nation. Though I suspect it will be a little more than a slap on the hand."
Alois thought. His nation was itself a dictatorship, but rather kept civil. It's military, not overly large, but equipped with the best tech it could produce.
"What about a preemptive strike. Such as bombers targeting and launching missiles at staging areas." He stated.
"Its possible. We have thought of this idea, though the mission requires Intel. We currently have no idea where staging areas are. Obviously, we have intel on bases, airfields, and ports. Though striking an airbase that is mostly made of aircraft that are for training will do nothing to stem the coming blitzes. We can wait for Intel but by then it could be too late."

The Meeting would continue on for another 4 hours.

What was certain was that Gebeta would need 4 days to have a Marine QRF in place, and a week to have more elements airlifted in. Risky but necessary if there was to be a chance of stemming and turing back the tide. Till a plan was put into place, the only thing sent out was a simple message on the evening news of Alois Condemning the act as a senseless and uneasy and atrocious action.

Sarkos was heading towards the meeting place where he would begin conversing with the Ravencorps delegate. This would surely be a profitable deal. His thoughts were interrupted when a very excited Monti Tchu arrived at his side, almost silently, making the King jump.

"Your Highness, the Archipelago Territory has declared war!" Monti rarely saw much excitement when delivering messages to the King - but the Royal Elite Corps' best soldier very much enjoyed the prospect of fighting in yet another war. The King nodded.

"Set the HMS Sarkos sail, with both the aircraft carriers and the Submarine fleet, heading towards their capital. Dispatch ten Tosdoda Bombers and twenty Tunchix Fighters to intercept any attacks. Initiate anti-air defences and send the Elite Corps to the border, along with the Second Dontrek." He was prepared for such an encounter - just not so soon. A declaration of war was not what he was expecting - mediation came first, surely. These 'democracies' and their 'international law' were an enigma to the King.

"Your orders are accepted, Your High-" He abruptly cut off as the entire building shook as distant explosions were heard. The King's face was grim.

"Ah. They have arrived. Go now, execute my orders - I shall inspect the damage now."

As the King rushed outside, it relieved him to see that the damage wasn't that bad. It was a port strike, targeting the HMS Sarkos - but it should be up and running again in a matter of hours. On the deck two recruits were trying desperately to stamp out a small fire that had started, before the Crown Prince and Admiral, Maso Tunchix, walked out with a large bucket of water, dousing the flames. While there was no doubt further damage was to be fixed, civilian casualties had been kept to two unlucky individuals, who were standing and admiring the ship. The death of these two, however tragic, would have great propaganda value. Yes, the King could see it - 'the Reinkalistani martyrs, destroyed by the cruel people of the Archipelago. Stand up and avenge these deaths, by giving your life for the dream of a greater Reinkalistan!' That sounded good - the news services across the nation were being seized anyway, so that misinformation did not spread during wartime. Almost everyone would see the message.

Now, it was time to retaliate.

I write to you with full authorization from Her Majesty the Queen, Jinseong first of her name, may she reign ten thousand years. The Empire of Daejong is not a nation that seeks strife, and Her Majesty had always envisioned the international environment as stable and harmonious society of multiple nations. However, when disharmony appears, on behalf of her majesty we are forced to take action.

The current activities of Reinkalistani state pose a direct conflict with national interests of the Daejongian kingdom on the continent. The kingdom of Daejong, being a nation that only recently threw yoke of oppression and hopes to march forward towards a bright and joyous future, wishes to see peace prevail in the region, so that it could continue our economic development in peace. However, recent activities of his Majesty Serkos, the Fourth of his name, disrupt the collective security system and balance of power in the region.

Reinkalistan can be great in many other ways than having a large territory. The Righteous Kingdom is fully eager to pursue a policy of reconciliation and increase of economic ties with The Reinkalistani State; however, this can only happen should Reinkalistani state ditches the attempts at disrupting regional balance of power.

On behalf of her majesty I wish to announce my government's full readiness to conduct negotiations in hope that escalation of tensions may be averted; and I hope it's not too late.

The border guards of Daejong are approached by one of these riders, bearing a message from the King of South Reinkalistan. This note is, as protocol dictates, personally handwritten by the King.

Your Majesty, Jinseong I,

I am afraid that South Reinkalistan cannot easily bend to the will of foreign powers. While I appreciate the concerns of all sovereign nations, before such matters comes the interests of South Reinkalistan and her people. The Foreign Minister is wise when he says that Greatness does not come from having a large territory. But it is not just greatness for my nation that I seek. You see, our priorities are in righting the wrongs of old. In the ill-fated Conkirasp, so long ago now, we lost our nation in a bid to claim these territories. But that came from lack of preparation and arrogance - our actions within the next few years shall be much more precise and well-planned.

I applaud Daejong's resolve to stand up to what they believe in, just as I am doing. I believe in prosperity and repentance for the Reinkalistani people. You believe in international stability. As far as I can see, these two principles are mutually exclusive. As such, I am afraid that even though I am willing to negotiate, I cannot yield much. Backing down from my stance now will lead to humiliation and ruin for South Reinkalistan - something our people are too familiar with. It comes with great sadness to tell you this - under different circumstances, our nations could have been friends. We too have recently thrown of the yoke of oppressors. But sentiment does not make a great ruler. What makes a great ruler is to resist adversity. If you further oppose us, you will stand in the way to our destiny.

Regarding the negotiations, I will only say this. We will not yield an inch of our claimed territory. Should you feel this leads to war, then so be it. I will not waver. We will not waver.

"That's not what I expected to happen..."

When one looked at Queen Jinseong, at first glance of one's eye extraordinary beauty could be noticed. Daejongian monarch was indeed a rose of the orient - long neck, fair skin, small, oval face and a pair of emerald eyes mesmerizing around. Her lips were small and deep set, nose straight and shallow; on top of her head rested a forest of raven dark hair, tied in a ponytail. Dressed in a long robe of ceremonial navy blue, with a crown of gold decorating her head, she would have been something to behold - if she wasn't too busy destroying the opposition threatening her power.

The recent actions of the Daejongian state were deeply rooted in internal affairs of the hremit kingdom. As Daejong remained virtually closed to the outsiders, little could be known about it to those who lived abroad, except perhaps to a small clique of intelligence specialists and daelogists specializing in this type of research. More than sixty years ago, the current Queen's father created a hermit kingdom mixing confucianism with episcopalian brand of Christianity based upon strict interpretation of Biblical law. In place of a former colony rose a theocratic monarchy that was by no means enlighted; brutal and gruesome executions of people responsible for violating Biblical law became a commonplace. Yet, eternal ringing of alarm bells by international human right NGOs fell on deaf ears... at least until recently.

Daejong remained an absolute monarchy were a small group of elite could do literally everything. Like pharisees and saducees of old, they preached something else than they did. Powerful clergymen kept harems of women, while in public speaking about sanctity of family. The royal family lived in luxuries as around them millions had grasroots as their only source of food. The military became the state's number one priority, with as much as 38% of the government's money being spent on that institution. Ten year service became mandatory for each healthy man; with one per twenty five men serving in some capacity in the military, being taught that they are defending the last pure country on Earth from evil dwelling abroad.

Yet, no one lives forever and soon the tyrant became dust from which he was created. In his place was appointed his daughter - the sole legitimate heir out of over eighty of the old king's children. Though living as lavish life as her father did before for a certain period of time, the current queen's attitude changed due to meeting a general who belonged secretly to a nonconformist, heretical Christian sect. That set her on a long path of personal evolution, which resulted in a new kind of vision for Daeseong; a strong, united country where everyone is free to worship as he or she sees fit; under Jinseong's enlightened rule, that is.

To carry out reforms in such a country was, however, a daunting task. Though Daejong was an absolute monarchy, where the queen could - at least in theory - order anyone to be executed on a whim, the administrative offices in the state were filled by her father's men. A coalition of bureaucrats, government officials and members of ther father's secret police was not especially satisfied with the direction the matters were going and a massive conspiracy was formed against the new queen.

To her aid came the military. Her father, despite pushing for "military first" policy - marginalized the generals, afraid of a potential coup. His daughter on the other hand was affiliated with the army even as much as being formally an enlisted officer. Though her only task in the army was managing a hotel resort where high ranked officers spent their leaves, it was enough for the military to see her as one of their own. Some of those generals had genuinely patriotic intentions; others were simply hungry for power and detested the control the bureaucrats had over them by power of the State Military Commission. Either way, they allied with her; and the grand game had begun.

Daejong, though heavily industrialized, was a poor country; with a numerous military, albeit one that could be considered a museum of cold war equipment, of which best evidence being Sturmovniks and MiG-15s still being in reserve service (though most of them were unserviceable due to lack of parts and poor technical state). And now, a perfect occasion had portrayed itself for Queen Jinseong's faction. A nation to the south-east was starting aggressive activities against it's neigbours. A victory in such a war would be greatly beneficial to Queen and her faction; winning her more prestige and possibly, looting enough food to freely distribute to her poor and starving subjects. That way, she could ensure their support when the time to purge the government of her father's men came.

"I intend to ask again" the queen spoke in calm, but strong voice "what are we standing on?"

"As far as I am aware, from profile of King Sarkos IV delivered to us by the military intelligence, that man is mad." spoke the current minister of foreign affairs. The queen did not trust him fully, but at the same time, he was the man with most connections; and one that could be easily motivated with office and proper pay "He fully intends to carry out what he had said."

He queen closed her eyes for a second, before opening them again and turning to man standing next to her - one wearing bright green, ceremonial military uniform, with tall, square face covered in wrinkles, with two halves of grey hair emerging from under his cap. He was Gen. 3 star Gwak Tae-Hyun; the queen's most trusted man and current minister of war, formerly serving as vice-cheif of the general staff. If anyone knew how to solve this debacle - it was him.

"What are our options?" she asked in a curious voice.

"Your majesty, I do believe that in plain terms, a preemptive war may be successful" he said, full of confidence, revealing a map "A direct pre-emptive offensive will be carried out against Reinkalistan by combined forces of 7th Army and 9th Army, with 10th army remaining in reserve and ready for commitment. We will begin by a series of strikes by strategic forces delivered by our Strategic Rocket Forces against the government infrastructure, aviation bases and command & control nodes. As our air force is larger, but they have more modern aircraft, it will be hard to determine the outcome of the air battle. As border areas in Malyang and Chulpo provinces are heavily rugged and forested, defenses mounted by Reinkalistani will have a considerable advantage. We expect however to achieve a breakthrough in first two-three days of the offensive. As at least one Dontrek - which is their equivalent of a corps - is already committed against The Archipelago Territory, which leaves two they can deploy against us, and that is if they abandon other directions - which leaves roughly 135 000 men at their disposal and that's assuming that they do not want to cover other directions."

"And against that you are requesting over 600 000 our soldiers..." asked the queen, considering opinions of her general.

"As your majesty is aware, to carry out a successful attack, a 3 to 1 local advantage is usually required. If attacking cities, this requirement rises to seven to one, often going as far as eleven to one. In addition to that, Reinkalistani military possesses superior technology to ours. We are going to need this kind of advantage if we are to succeed."

The queen pondered the burden put upon her shoulders. For a second, her head hovered over her chest, before rising up with a determined look on her face.

"I therefore approve of your plan, as I have always trusted you on military matters. We will, however, maintain a profile of friendship and reconciliation, while preparing a dagger behind our smile. Park, write to them again that Daejong does not see use of armed forces as necessary in the current moment. I will authorize the attack the moment they expect it the least. Dismissed."

The moment park left the room, the general turned to his sovereign:

"You do realize" he begun "that we can't trust him fully?"

"I know" replied firmly the queen "That is why I am authorizing his assassination if he goes out of his way. Sometimes, one has to make harsh choices."

As soon as the plan was authorized by the Queen, the orders from ministry of defense were passed to the general staff, which made the appropriate plans before relaying them to general commands of each of the armed services, for them to get ready to realize their own tasks.

The first step for completion of the operation was to gather necessary intelligence. It was going to be accomplished by combining multiple means. First, and most important, were the satellites. As Daejong possessed none on it's own, the infamous Unit 888 would be responsible for hacking commercial satellites belonging to multiple companies and using them to spy on movements of Reinkalistani Ground Forces. There would be, as much as possible, surveillance of milliary sites; with analysts counting tanks, planes and other pieces of equipment, hoping to determine strength and location of enemy force on this basis. This will be coupled with reports coming from other sources to create a clear picture which Daejongian commanders would later be able to exploit.

The first orders for the units to change their locations would be relayed not through radio, but rather through motorcycle couriers. Upon receiving the orders, commanders of the forces will begin moving their units in small contingents; driving at night with their lights turned off, traveling in total radio silence. Those units would later re-gather in their designated basing areas, before merging together again, ready to repeal an eventual incursion from Reinkalistan.

Meanwhile, air force would also begin shifting their numbers to bases located closer to Reinkalistan. In the areas where planes would leave from, a carefully crafted 1;1 scale replicas would be placed on the starting pads, to confuse the SATINT about number of planes present in said base.

The preparations were going in smoothly. Time would show how this situation was going to end.

Honored Excellency;

I write to you with full authorization from Her Majesty the Queen, Jinseong first of her name, may she reign ten thousand years. The government of Righteous Kingdom of Daejong does not consider Reinkalistani government to be yielding to Daejong in any way; on the contrary, it expects it to realize the common sense and understand that there is nothing from the current state of conquest that benefits the Reinkalistani government, nor it's people as a whole.

First, the Reinkalistani state, by enacting policy of open self-admitted conquest, openly destroys it's relations with neighboring nations. Income and benefits from economic relations with those states are, at least in Her Majesty's opinion, worth far more than whatever gains could Reinkalistan gain by continuing it's policy of conquest. On the contrary, at this point, Reinkalistan merely damages it's standing in what would otherwise be perfectly credible partners.

Furthermore, according to Daejongi intelligence, Reinkalistani government does not posses forces sufficient to subjugate the regions it intends to conquer and wage war against multiple neighbours on multiple fronts at the same time - and that coalition appears to be only growing with each passing day. Even assuming that conquests are carried out, and Reinkalistan wins, it would result in Reinkalistan plagued by ethnic troubles by foreign groups living in it's borders - groups that will always seek a way to secede.

The government of Daejong does not intend to stand in the way of Reinkalistani greatness; on the contrary, it's the current policy that's standing in the way of reinkalistani greatness; a policy realized without strategic foresight that in the long turn, the so called conquests will only needlessly spend Reinkalistani resources, giving little to none benefits.

The choice of what path will be taken rests, however, on His Majesty Serkos, the Fourth of his name. Our government implores him not to take a path that will doom ins nation in the long run.

And with a quick click of the Send button the orders where dispatched. No sooner then the message being received Azuala walked out from her dressing room wearing a slim form fitting evening gown she brought specially for this meeting. She giggled a bit and walked over to Aegies who had put his phone away and began fiddling with his tie trying... and failing to make it straight. Azuala walked over and made a few adjustments to his tie before patting his chest as a sign of ' its good now' before walking back to the foyer of the suite

I heard a bombing campaign has already begun in the southern portion of the city. That would explain rumbling we heard earlier and according to the front desk the King and his delegation where already on their way to the hotel. It would seem likely that the King will want to show a calm face and be seen directly inspection the damage - it would be a good PR move on his part. mentioned Aegies as he grabbed his evening coat and checked his cigar box and wallet.

Azuala smiled before responding. This nation is going to be a valuable client. If I know you... and I do. I assume you already had a QRF taskforce mobilized after the first sign of trouble. How long till they arrive? Aegies smirked. They should be arriving within the next 10 hours or so. I also called up a full mobilization of Security personnel and equipment for a 'demonstrative purpose'. Full Compliment- heavy loadouts. As well as recalled a number of orbital assets to the battlespace to keep tabs on everything... He paused slightly before continuing. How invested are we into keeping this nation as is and this King in power?

Azuala cocked her head back and replied.

We are invested until the investment goes south. Then we diversify. Exactly the answer he expected to hear.

The pair quickly made their way to the lobby of the hotel where dozens of scared tourists and patient service personnel tried to keep the peace with numerous TV's depicted the ongoing events painting the picture of a national crisis in the making. In the midst of the chaos Azuala and Aegies where a world apart seemingly at peace in the confusion. As they walked outside the front doors police cruisers and emergency personnel where busy trying to keep order and peace in the streets. Then two black SUV's with the Raven Corporation logo pulled up and the back doors opened remotely letting each of the pair take their own vehicle to the dinner location. The trucks where driven by Corporate Security Shock Troopers with one in the dismount passenger seat.

As the motorcade left the hotel Azuala got a text message on her phone... from her father.

Azuala...

Be very careful there. If things look like its going sideways you are to leave the country at once. Aegies can handle things while your gone.

She smiled. Her father was a loving man- in his own sort of way. The trooper in the front passenger seat spoke up his voice distorted by his armored mask.

Ma'am... It would appear that the King is up ahead inspecting damage from a bombing raid. Do you want to stop here and make an appearance? Azuala nodded and the Motorcade pulled over letting her and Aegies exit and approach the king and his security detail.

Your Highness... I'm Azuala Zion and this is Aegies Ikcarus. We are terribly sorry for this devastation- but rest assured that the Raven Corporation came here in good faith to do business and we will not sit idly by while those we consider a friend is attacked unprovoked and without cause. Considering the situation we have called forth a full force of our Security Service Forces and they will be making their way here to protect you and your kingdom... and if need be show those who oppose you that you and and the Raven Corporation are not to be trifled with.

[The Archipelago Territory]

All Archipelago Territory government facilities were on high alert. The President even had to travel in secret, due to fears of South Reinkalistan retaliating. The media was excited, though, with headlines like “Archipelago missiles strike South Reinkalistan” and “Autocratic Regime suffers large damage after a strike ordered by the President.”

The President, however, wasn’t so worried about the threat of retaliation. Central Island housed the majority of military bases, and since it housed the main cities like Archipelago City and New Lifewell, the majority of Archipelago Islanders were safe. If any forces tried to attack the outer islands, he could send his troops there in minutes.

“Austin, our intelligence agencies brought us the report on our strike in South Reinkalistan. It’s not good.” Austin turned around, knowing that only one of his close friends, not political appointees, would use his first name. It was Darren Cooper, his Vice President.

“There’s been two civilian casualties, and it seems the South Reinkalistan media is using it to denounce us as enemies of the people.” Cooper answered.

Austin walked over to his desk, hesitating. “this is the hardest job in the world. Every day there’s a new problem waiting for me at my desk, and every solution leads to more problems. Now the Raven Corps is sending troops to our nation. If we lose this war, this is on me. Tell the Secretary of Military Affairs to conduct a cyberattack on South Reinkalistan. We need to stay one step ahead of the game. I’m going to take some time off tonight.”

At Franklin Air Force Base, the Director of the Federal Cybersecurity Agency had set up makeshift computer room where they were monitoring the digital side of the conflict. His Deputy Director, Chelsea Day had asked the Director of the Federal Security Agency why they couldn’t use their Agency’s headquarters to monitor the situation.

“our agency is currently occupying your headquarters due to security concerns in our main building” he had answered, giving no context to the situation.

When the Director learned of the news about the cyberattack they were going to conduct from his assistant Wyatt, he was excited to finally get to do something. The Computer Room lit up, as many cyberspace experts sat down in their chairs, ready to conduct the attack. What usually took a small group of people was going to be done by a whole agency, against a nation that didn’t have as many computers compared to most modernized nations because of tradition. The plan was simple. They would use phishing techniques and look for vulnerabilities in South Reinkalistan‘s coding. They could then obtain passwords, while brute-forcing the system. That would enable them to have access to the mainframe, where they would download as many files as possible before they were ejected from the system.

As the President’s Personal Protection Unit drove him and his wife home to the Presidential Center, he wondered what it would be like to be in the army, fearing a war on Archipelago soil. The F.R.S. Johnson (Federal Republic Ship) was on its way to rendezvous with the F.R.S. Richmond. They would, in accordance with his orders, fire four cruise missiles at the HMS Sarkos, however, they would miss on purpose, as their main goal was to stall the ship. They were only to engage if the ship fired back (which was highly likely), which would make it look like the HMS Sarkos provoked the Federal Republic Ships

On the F.R.S Johnson, Captain Harrison was watching his computer screen closely, waiting for the F.R.S. Richmond to come into view. This was the captain’s first time commanding the ship in combat, and he was already struggling to manage everything. He was excited to finally see action, but at the same time he was under immense pressure due to the fact that this was a war. He feared the H.M.S. Sarkos might be more powerful than the Board of Commanders thought. They didn’t care if his ship sunk, to them it would just be another asset lost.

All of a sudden, the ship’s alarm started blaring as the ship’s Chief of Staff came in on the intercom: stations, everyone! Sarkos is a mile away from here, and the crew from Richmond is boarding our ship now to transfer supplies.

[South Reinkalistan]

On the outside, Sarkos IV was taking the situation calmly. But on the inside he was panicking - despite the fact that the HMS Sarkos had long since been repaired and set off, he still needed to be confident. Appearances must be kept, and quite the crowd had gathered, with shocked gasps ringing around the King. It was not a pleasant experience. Straightening his robe, Sarkos spoke.

"Reinkalistanis! Thank you for your concern! This was an unwarranted attack against our people, and rest assured, the army shall make quick work of it. Our warriors are unrivalled in strength. I have no doubt that my grandmother, Tosdoda bless her soul, could beat the most seasoned veteran of these foreign fools! These people of the Archipelago may strike us. They may push is to the ground. They may think that they have turned us to dust. But this is not the case. The Hevangocon shall continue!" Cheers erupted from the crowd, but the King remembered the two corpses next to him. He rushed over, to discover that one was still alive. He crouched next to the wounded man, and observed that he would not live for long. The crowd edged closer.

"My... My King..." gasped the man. "You... You're... here?" He erupted into a coughing fit.

"Yes. Yes I am. Do not be afraid - here." Sarkos pulled his flask out, and put it to the man's lips. He sipped it gently, getting weaker by the second.

"Will... I be... okay?" There was worry as well as pain etched onto the man's face.

"Yes. Yes... you will." The man looked relieved. He was smiling as he died. With a trembling hand, he closed the corpse's eyes. The King stood up, and turned to the solemn crowd. He noted with satisfaction that there were multiple camera phones visible in the crowd, recording the whole ordeal. Perhaps this was not the time to be thinking about propaganda value, but by Reinkal was this going to look good on TV.

"There. Do you need any proof of the enemy's brutality? This man was enjoying his life - just another Reinkalistani, with dreams. With hopes. With ambitions. But this... archipelago federation? They have attacked us. They have humiliated us. This shall not stand. We will sail forward towards destiny, lest the tides of history sweep us away. I implore you to take up arms against these barbarians! As Deplukiriv Reinkal tamed the savages of Reinkalistan long ago, we shall do the same to the Archipelago Federation! Glory to the bold!" As he walked away, he personally carried one of the corpses to the ambulance that had just arrived. This injustice would not stand. He would have to make an example of the enemy. A very clear example.

Sarkos was in a grim mood when the envoy handed him a letter from Daejong. After reading it, he looked up, with a steely determination in his eyes. "Get me Tchu. If our sources can be confirmed, this letter is a ruse."

"Y- Yes, your highness!" Trembled the envoy, before running off to fetch Monti. As he approached the palace, he noticed an extravagant motorcade approach him. This must be the Ravencorps. He quickly pulled out a radio and ordered his personal snipers to stand down. They were notoriously trigger-happy, and it would not bode well for the daughter of his ally to get a bullet through her head. A well-dressed woman stepped out of the car, along with a massive security guard.

"Your Highness... I'm Azuala Zion and this is Aegies Ikcarus. We are terribly sorry for this devastation- but rest assured that the Raven Corporation came here in good faith to do business and we will not sit idly by while those we consider a friend is attacked unprovoked and without cause. Considering the situation we have called forth a full force of our Security Service Forces and they will be making their way here to protect you and your kingdom... and if need be show those who oppose you that you and and the Raven Corporation are not to be trifled with."

Ah, this seemed to be help when it was needed most. "It is a pleasure to meet you, My Lady. And you too, Aegies. It is great to see you here - as you can see, we were caught a bit off-guard. Not that this matters - we shall soon retaliate. But here is not the place to discuss business, nor strategy. Walk with me to the Royal Palace - it is but a ten minute walk from here. All of the most important people in the Kingdom shall be there - I merely need to write a letter to some fools." He was interrupted by the sight of Monti Tchu approaching. The King groaned internally - it was not a good idea to let Tchu near Colderon's daughter. The man's location could always be determined by following the trail of illegitimate births. He sent the soldier a discreet hand signal to return to the palace, which he thankfully heeded. As he headed off with the two corporate delegates, he thought of the HMS Sarkos, so far out at sea...

Tocho Ki loved the smell of the sea. But Tocho was nervous; the King's son, the admiral, had urgent business in the capital, meaning that Tocho, the vice-admiral, was now in charge. He was tasked with delivering a South Reinkalistani naval victory. His convoy was powerful - the HMS Sarkos was itself a mighty vessel, and the South Reinkalistani air force, however small and archaic, was on board the two carriers that accompanied him. All 56 of the nation's submarines were beneath him, in the depths, ready to sink any Archipelago vessels. He was called back off deck by the HMS Sarkos' captain. They had picked up something on Radar, something big. After a long period of tension, it came into view.

"'Dispatch the planes. Fire torpedoes. Engage. Launch everything we have!" While not exactly the most thought-out plan of action, Tocho knew that planning took time, and time would sacrifice the element of surprise they currently held. The Captain hesitated, before nodding, and addressing the fleet by radio.

"Enemy vessel spotted! Attack with overwhelming force!"

Tocho watched the planes take off, and although he could not see them, he knew the submarines were approaching in the deep. The Sarkos' main cannon swivelled into position. The Captain looked at Tocho, who nodded.

"Fire at will."

The lone rider approaches Daesong again. It is the same diplomat - he appears to be tired of this assignment. He hands over the letter with a huff, and rides off.

Her Majesty, Queen Jinseong,

It is amusing to me that you have the audacity to order my country and people about. Since when did I appoint you as my adviser? Since when did I ask for your opinion on the matter? I need not rebut your arguments on the matter. Your nation's past is soaked in blood - yet you preach peace. This is hypocrisy. Your moral high ground is an illusion. We live in an age where the strong lord over the weak, and any attempt to fight this norm will lead the weak to further ruin. Rest assured, we are preparing for war. I believe you may be doing the same. There are many individuals in your government who are discontent with your rule. Such individuals are easily bribed. Our source has informed us of a few... troop movements. Nothing of that scale can be covered up.

I do not take kindly to deception. Demobilise your forces, or South Reinkalistan will declare war. This is an ultimatum. Choose the best option for your nation. This is what I am doing with this letter.

If worst comes to worst, we shall meet, warrior to warrior, on the battlefield.

[The Archipelago Territory]

The FRS Richmond and FRS Johnson were no match compared to the HMS Sarkos. Before the FRS Johnson shot the first cruise missile, the HMS Sarkos detected the two ships coming. While Captain Harrison was managing the planes above him by launching cruise missiles at them, his sonar radar detected several submarines approaching them. The submarines and the HMS Sarkos fired fired torpedoes, almost sinking the FRS Johnson.

Captain Harrison didn’t want to go out this way though. Instead abandoning the ship and letting South Reinkalistan’s forces salvage the ship and its weapons, he piloted the ship straight ahead, colliding with a Kaskia Aircraft Carrier. As both ships were decimated in the collision, the Captain managed to leave a final message for the FRS Richmond: if your ship makes it, tell my country I was proud to serve. Get your ship out of here before the enemies fire their cannon! FRS Johnson out.

On the FRS Richmond, the situation wasn’t very different... until the HMS Sarkos fired its cannon. The upper deck trembled as a projectile fired by the cannon broke a bridge window. Less than a minute later, another one hit the upper deck, forcing troops to take cover. The whole attempted attack on the HMS Sarkos was a disaster. The Archipelago forces managed to destroy a Kaskia Aircraft Carrier, but it came at a high cost.

In the Presidential Center, Austin was getting ready for his speech to the citizens of the Archipelago. He needed to address the fact that his troops killed two civilians, but he planned on changing the subject early on. He could easily vilify South Reinkalistan by bringing up the fact that they sunk two of his ships, and they shot first. He could then assure them that since there were 20,000 troops protecting the Archipelago, they were safe. As he walked up to the podium, he couldn’t help but notice the fact that the entire room was clapping for him, chanting “Archipelago forever!”

“My fellow Archipelago Islanders, today I have to bring you bad news. Our port strike on South Reinkalistan unfortunately resulted in two casualties. King Sarkos IV witnessed the death of one of his own men, and for that I apologize to him. However, I do not think that this constitutes cruelty by our nation. Our forces only attacked a military complex, as we do not attack civilians. If civilians are present in a military complex, that is not of our concern. And what kind of hypocrite is King Sarkos to call us “cruel” when he sunk one of our Federal Navy ships by shooting first. He killed 500 of our troops. I am proud to say that Captain Harrison, who died in the despicable attack, managed to destroy an Aircraft Carrier that was escorting the HMS Sarkos, the very symbol of their military might. We assure you, the 750,000 men of our military will protect us in this dark hour. I urge you to join the military and risk your life for this great nation.”

The President stepped down from the podium, leaving after the roaring applause concluded. As he stepped in his SUV and left with his motorcade, he decided he would make an appearance in Fort Langdon, south of Rockhill Park. It currently housed 5,000 soldiers, ready to defend their nation. It would be symbolic if he could appear their. “take me to Langdon as fast as possible,” he instructed.

Upon hearing that over 75,000 troops were currently moving to the Archipelago’s border, Commander Gordon nearly had a heart attack. That kind of show of force could easily cripple the Archipelago’s defense systems. The Islands could easily handle the invasion, but the mainland areas of the Archipelago could not withstand such an invasion. Commander Gordon wasn’t one to follow orders. When he heard about the invasion, he sent 2,700 of his troops, who were guarding the base, to the mainland without permission. When he heard the President was coming, he knew this was not going to end well.

The President stepped out of his SUV, while waving and saluting the troops protecting the base. “Base Commander Gordon, nice to meet you.” They shook hands. “It’s an honor, mr. President.”

“Get all 5,000 troops out here, I want to meet them” instructed the President. “um... well, I can’t really...” “what do you mean you can’t, that’s an order! It’s not complicated, please, just call out the troops.” “We’re a little short staffed,” responded Commander Gordon. “I’m sorry, I deployed troops without orders to the mainland. I heard that South Reinkalistan was moving its troops their.”

“No, you did the right thing. And just so you know, I signed Executive Order 292-15 today, which designates all Raven Corps workers as military forces, not citizens. Now we can use military forces against them, both at home and abroad. Now get me a few Dyugon-Class landing crafts and a couple Zumwalt-Class destroyers to bombard the land invaders. It specializes in stopping large land invasions like this one.”

the ships take a long time to mobilize and reach their destination, I’ll work out the details in my next post.

"Your analysis matches up with what the foreign intelligence had informed us about him. King Sarkos considers strength to be the basis of the international relations. Failure to stand up to him in force will only embolden him" spoke foreign affairs minister Park with a grim voice announcing the news "At this point, I do believe that any other option other than use of force had been depleted."

The queen pondered the question slowly. Despite knowing the potential advantages that could come from a victorious armed conflict, she was always willing to consider all her options. After all, war could start when one wanted it - but it will not end on one's demand. Despite the less prized traits of her character, the queen genuinely cared for the people of her country. Yet, concluding the matters in her mind, Reinkalistan could not be permitted to dominate international affairs - but neither could be Archipelago territory. Despite representing a weaker and more moderate brand of Christian fundamentalism than most of her family, she still detested liberalism and considered it a recipe for instability. Thus, her choice was made.

"Gwak-ssi" she addressed her general "What are our proceedings with Operation: Myeongryang?"

"Of course, Jinseong-jenha!" replied the general, before unrolling a map prepared by general staff "As I have said before, Operation: Myeongryang will include elements of 7th and 9th Armies, with 10th Army waiting in reserve to counter any unexpected developments from many other actors. It's highly possible that those actors will want to come to Reinkalistan's aid, therefore we will have to ensure that Reinkalistan will be beaten within a week to prevent that from happening. Our recoanissance had confirmed to us that we are facing two corps-sized elements against us, that the locals have designated as "1st Dontrek" and "3rd Dontrek" respectively. Combined they number about 100 000 soldiers. Luckily for us, the 3rd Dontrek is almost entirely focused in one area, making it extremely vulnerable to massed artillery strikes. The operation will begin with a series of tactical strikes against the capital and airfields; hoping to disrupt the command & control network of Reinkalistani military and destroy a large piece of their air force before it's able to take off. Subsequently a major push will begin by 7th and 9th army in order to pin the two Dontreks against the river and conduct a bestement manouevere; before hand, artillery strikes will destroy the bridges on the river, leaving only some to the west, A single corps from 7th army will be given an order to bypass the defending Reinkalistanis and go on their rear, therefore cutting any attempts of relief by both Reinkalistanis and their allies. We are expecting to be able to penetrate within 35 kilometers by the end of the day, and utterly destroy the 3rd Dontrek while dealing a massive damage to the 1st. Both will eventually be encircled and destroyed."

The queen shook her head. Only now the full, terrible burden of leadership fully fell upon her shoulders. Then, with a single sentence, she condemned thousands to die so that Daejong could survive:

"Do it."

Friday night usually was a time of rest - after all, men of all statuses were returning to their houses to rest after a long week of work. No one expected that this time their rest would be interrupted by a horrid event that would shake the region for decades to come - the beginning of the conflict between Daejong and Reinkalistan. This time - Friday night - was chosen by the Daejongi exactly for the very reason of people being tired, and as the result, more relaxed than usual. It was about 23.00 that the hell broke loose.

The first opening strikes of the war were carried by three brigades of Royal Daejongi Army Strategic Rocked Forces. The mighty branch operating strategic and tactical weaponry of the Daejongi state had, in it's intended duties more than just deterrence. One of it's crucial goals was focused around power projection by means of strikes by tactical ballistic missiles. Daejong possessed multiple kinds of those terrifying weapons in it's arsenal, going from antiquated copies of Stalin-era SCUDs - which were thoroughly upgraded over the years - to copies of more modern missiles like Oka or Iskander, though the latter were fielded in far smaller quanities. Missiles were grouped in battalions of 6, which in turn were grouped in brigades of three. Four brigades were designated to begin the strike, and, upon receiving combat orders from the General Staff, their commandest imminently got to realize them.

Four brigades consisted of total 72 TELs, most of them fielding upgraded versions of SCUD using foreign commercial satellites to increase their own accuracy. Though antiquated, those old weapons could still cause tremendous damage if used correctly. At 23.00 72 tactical ballistic missiles ascended into the air among the fiery fumes, and proceeded to climb upwards near the very levels of atmosphere - where they would make a turn and fall down, aiming directly at their targets. Five of them were going to be aimed at the palace of Reinkalistani monarch - two of them with thermobaric warheads, two with tandem warheads to ensure that whatever bunker finds itself below the palace will not survive the attack. Another five were going to raze down ministry of defense, and another five - the general staff. Thee times five will be directed at the locations where Daejongi military intelligence believed the HQs of three main Dontreks to be located - hoping to kill their command & control structures before the engagement even begun. Another thirty five will be directed at different airfields, hoping to knock down as many planes as possible before they even get to lift off. Finally, remaining seven will be directed at the port where Reinkalistani navy was stationed, hoping to induce maximum amount of damage. Three of those were equipped with cluster warheads in order to destroy as large are as possible.

This was, however, only the beginning of the troubles for the Reinkalistani force, for at that moment the artillery force belonging to the two armies opened fire. Each army boasted impressive firepower of over 540 BM-21 GRADs, 270 D-20 heavy towed howitzers and 540 smaller artillery pieces grouped in artillery brigades of it's corpuses alone, that additionally backed up by 72 BM-27 Uragan heavy MRLSes and 72 M-1978 Koksan in army level heavy artillery brigades. Such an impressive artillery force was about to be brought directly on the main body of 3rd Dontrek, and on identified positions of 1st Dontrek - which, due to it's dispersal, would most likely suffer far less, albeit still considerable, causalities.

Shortly after the SRBM strikes were launched, the area nearby the mountains lit up like a Christmas tree. Thousands of rockets emerged among the sea of fumes from launch tubes of MRLSes, while gun howitzers would join in shortly after. Except the Koksan battalions, all of them were targeting the known basing points and positions of the Reinkalistani army. Especially important targets will be the tank depots, which will be shelled by HE-FRAG munitions, hoping to destroy as many tanks as possible at once. The heavy artillery brigades will be tasked with smashing the bridges, thus preventing the Reinkalistani forces from retreating and trapping them against the river, ready to be destroyed by the incoming offensive of the Daejongi Army. In order to adjust and survey the effects of artillery fire, the Daejongi military, UAVs will be used. And, as hundred of highly explosive shells will rain down on unprepared Reinkalistani positions, the final piece of the offensive will begin.

Daejongi military was a light infantry focused force - lacking in mechanization. It's infantry forces, while having high tactical mobility, were originally still limited by the speed of human legs. Recently, however, the problem was solved in a cheap and effective way; bicycles. After the artillery barrage was concluded, thousands of bicycles streamed through the rural roads, assembling the units for the coming push. Divisions from two corpses will execute their own movement to contact manouevere in order to establish contact with the Reinkalistani military. Two corpuses will be given a task of pinning the Reinkalistani dontrek against the river, while the third one will be given a task of performing a shallow envelopment around it's more vulnerable flank. If everything went correctly, the Reinkalistani dontreks will soon find themselves broken and facing against the river, encircled without any hope for them to retreat. At the spearhead would go the sniper brigade and recoanissance brigade, establishing which of the Reinkalistani positions are still intact, and providing intelligence to the commanders of individual corpuses and divisions.

At this moment, the divisional and regimental artillery pieces were going to enter the battle, supporting the advance of their own forces.

It was not the only manouevere. Shortly after the contact was established, a single corps from 7th Army would be detached and ordered to bypass the defending Dontrek, heading North. This corps - being armored in nature and thus able to move at far faster pace than the infantry brigades - would head north, bypassing the defending Dontreks before turning and crossing the river, either by surviving bridges, or constructing one via it's river crossing battalion. Subsequently, it will position itself behind the river in order to cut off last route of retreat and prevent reinforcements from coming to their compatriot's aid.

The entire assault was going to be carried out under extensive EW cover, with Daejongi military jamming the VHF communication frequencies as well as GPS, further contributing to confusion in Reinkalistani ranks.

Responsible for providing the air cover will be two fighter regiments flying MiG-23s. Each 31 aircraft will be sent over the AO of the army with a offensive counter-air mission.. Flying at 10 000 meters, the aircraft would receive their guidance on targets by long-range radars mounted on KN-02 SAMs accompanying each army.

<She pauses for another couple of seconds, making a stone-cold face>

Queen Jinseong: It's not a decision that I am forced to make easily; yet deep in my heart I feel like this is the decision the LORD wants me to take. Upon consulting with members of our clergy I have realized that this conflict does not have just political, but also spiritual dimension. Those who have studied the holy scriptures know that there exists a special kind of demons that Satan dispatches to sway the national governments to his side and further his own agenda. Having personally experienced harrasment from those demons, I can only conclude that the spiritual sovereignty behind Reinkalistan had taken full control over their monarch. This demonic being is now his pawns - those being the Reinkalistani monarchs - to carry out conquests to further it's own power and bring other nearby kingdoms deeper under Satan's control through Reinkalistani hands. As Daejong is a righteous nation that worships the Lord, this shall not be permitted!

Queen Jinseong: Should Reinkalistan be permitted to remain, it will slowly grow into deeper and deeper morass of depravity right next to our borders. Homosexuals will, with time, number in millions. Abortions will be carried openly in broad daylight. Followers of Christ will be persecuted like in the Roman times, and finally, they will launch an assault on our own righteous nation!
