The Official National Paper
This afternoon (May 26th) a medium-sized meteor that seemed to be ignored by scientists has hit the water a few tens of kilometers away of Danlina's coastline and right near an oil well. The water splash that ensued has hit the well in such a force that a leakage has occurred, spilling six million liters of oil into the sea.
The oil well, as seen from an above view.
Dead fish that have been washed to shore as a result of the leak.
After information about the leakage was leaked (no pun intended), there has been public backlash condemning the wide use of petroleum in Danlina, and calling for the Danlinian National Power Company to start switching to natural gas reserves and solar energy.
There has also been a voice blaming meteoriticists, claiming that because the meteor wasn't noticed, no one knew what its trajectory would be and thus the National Power Company couldn't plan ahead and be ready for the possibility of impact.
Either way, no matter whoever is to blame, there is now a national crisis in Danlina: the Danlinian people can't spend their summer days on the northern part of the coastline, and literal tons of dead fish get washed up on the shores, creating an environmental crisis and decimating the Danlinian fishing community.
