The government of Sevevill has responded with disappointment to news of yet another crackpot regime trying to sow instability within the Sevevillian Empire. The troubled, landlocked province of Diyaristan has been the recipient of intense military and civilian efforts to bring about stability, and this sort of action is only detrimental to that effort.

The Imperial Armed Forces has announced that it will seize any ships or planes associated with the so-called People's National Workers Union that pass through or near Imperial waters or airspace, and force them in for questioning.

The Diyaristani Rebel Government, on the other hand, which is now operating over much of Western Diyaristan, has praised the show of support by the PNWU, and urged their new friends from across the waves to find a way to sneak their weapons and advisers into the country.

With the bombardment of Girizil having ceased and seemingly no end in sight for the Danlinian occupation, rebels around the city have begun to grow bolder. Sporadic exchanges of fire near outskirts checkpoints may not be quite of severe as the recent major suicide bombing and gun attack which killed several Danlinian soldiers, but they do indicate a disturbing shift in trends for the defenders of Girizil. It is now clear to them that the pro-Sevevill forces in Diyaristan no longer have the initiative, and rebel factions are solidly on the offensive.

The Diyaristani Rebel Government has once again reached out to the Danlinians in Girizil to demand a surrender of the city, and to express hopes that Danlina may willingly join their cause for the liberation of Diyaristan.

The government of Sevevill, on the other hand, has offered Danlina whatever they need to continue providing vital security and reconstruction in Girizil. The recent deaths of Danlinian soldiers has, they say, highlighted the need for closer cooperation.

The empire is well governed in all its province, and such statements about pirate attacks originating from Sevevill must be false. To claim that a “power vacuum exists anywhere within her borders is nothing but propaganda and slander directed at an empire which intends only to spread its light across Markion.

In the same vein, Sevevill will not acknowledge that the so-called Diyaristani Rebel Government is a legitimate actor in any way. These terrorists are not worthy of being included in negotiations among civilized nations, and so the Sevevillian Empire will be making efforts to ensure no members of the movement are able to leave these talks.

The Sevevillians, however, will be sending representatives, along with representatives from Diyaristan’s pro-Sevevill Hamara administration.

The government of the Empire of Sevevill has readily agreed to these requests from the Danlinians, who’s blood spilled in brave defense of Girizil will always be remembered. So long as the Danlinians and their municipal allies can keep airports and roads open, Sevevill will make every effort to funnel aid and troops into the besieged metropolis. Danlinian flights to anywhere in the empire will be given the utmost priority.

All the while, abortive small arms attacks on Danlinian checkpoints have become more and more common. Though nobody has been injured yet, local DRG rebels seem to finally have accepted that Danlina and the new government of Girizil will not willingly join their cause.

It is suspected that many fighters are being housed safehouses as little as a two hundred feet of Danlinian checkpoints, along with numerous weapons caches and command stations. Soldiers and police at the checkpoints have observed the area mere steps outside of their jurisdiction rapidly becoming insurgent-governed, with suspected rebels peeking at them day and night from houses down the street.

[Sevevill]

The Kamooko Defence Command has today reported a successful defence of the Durranese civilian freighter Heibai off the west coast of Albatan, allowing the freighter to deliver its cargo of rice and other goods to Altos and Stratis. The Heibai and its Persistor-Class escort were spotted by a Sevevillian SG-87 warplane off the west coast of Albatan, having taken a roundabout route from Placeoderms in an attempt to avoid confrontation. They were followed, with the Sevevillian jet eventually attempting to make an attack run.

That SG-87 was forced to abandon its hunt after the frigate Chaser fired a surface-to-air missile, chasing it off.

Since Sevevill began targeting Durranese shipping on its way to Altos and Stratis, a total of five freighters have been sunk by Sevevillian and Urilas fighters and maritime patrol aircraft. Most of these attacks were conducted with dumb, lightweight munitions, ranging from freefall bombs to 25mm cannons. It is suspected that, in order to widen their net, the Southwest Bloc powers are loading up aircraft with excessive drop tanks and skimping on armament.

The Empire of Sevevill is outraged at the Kamooko Pact for militarily backing Durradon in its misguided support of the rogue pro-UCSO states. Having the gall to fire on a Sevevillian aircraft, especially one engaged in legitimate policing duties, is an inexcusable offense.

Since it is now clear that the KP values obedience to their biggest member over doing what is right, the governments of Sevevill and its province of Diyaristan have been forced to make a tough call. They have decided that the KP mission in southern Diyaristan is no longer compatible with the interests of a free society, and are demanding all those on the KP payroll be out of the country within a week. Those who remain will be treated as traitors to the Empire and punished as such.

The Hamara Administration of Diyaristan has reassured citizens that not much will be lost by the departing of the Kamooko Pact, as their tiny effort in Diyaristan was always ineffective and probably helped rebels more than the government. This change, he says, will open the door for much more decisive action against rebel traitors.

Many observers have disagreed with President Hamara, noting that the KP-backed Mount Kula Administration Zone has probably been the most successful authority in Diyaristan.

With Danlinian elections in full swing, the Empire of Union and Liberty has sent 2 proposals 1 to the Republic of Danlina and 1 to the Empire of Sevevill.
The EUL is proposing to the Republic of Danlina to jointly guard voting stations with EUL soldiers to thwart any terror attack and possible but unlikely vote rigging of ballots
The EUL's proposal to the Empire of Sevevill is to propose a 120-hour ceasefire between Government and Diyaristani Rebel Forces as elections take place and have the Army of the Empire of Union and Liberty stationed in frontline and Rebel Occupied territory for the inclusion, representation and protection of those under Rebel control in the elections.
EUL troops will be neutral and non-combatants in the fighting but hostile actions against EUL troops by either side in the conflict will be taken as an act of war against the Empire of Liberty.

Kamooko Pact Pulling Out of Diyaristan

As tensions in Markion rise and war declared on the CSD by Sevevill, the Kamooko Pact has been given a chance to leave Diyaristan without incident. Many have expressed their displeasure as the MKAZ region of Diyaristan was the most stable and attracted nearly all of the refugees in Diyaristan to their walls. Now the MKAZ is being left to deal with the issue of restoring order. MKAZ officials have expressed their gratitude to the Kamooko Pact saying that they have been a great help in the fight against the rebels and now southern Diyaristan and the cities of Yarlaq and Alisar are truly safe.

Without support from the KP the MKAZ is now focusing on defending the territory it has gained with its KDC trained and supplied militia forces. With a small airforce and reasonably sized army, the Zone's armed forces can now deal with rebels and more.

The Diyaristani Rebel Government has reacted angrily at Danlina’s security surge, promising “fire and ruin” for this act of violence. However, they have not yet followed through with their threats and attacks on Girizil checkpoints and security officers have dropped substantially.

In the east, however, the DRG rejoices as the pro-Sevevill forces in the country continue to suffer. Despite heavy bombing against rebel-held cities and towns, the populations here have not rejected the DRG and, it seems, may even be supporting them more. With the Hamara Administration’s Imperial Defense Force still doing its best to reform, much of the heavy fighting has now fallen on Sevevillian and Connarian Imperial Armed Forces troops. Only a large influx of these quality soldiers into Diyaristan has managed to stem the tide of this rebel offensive.

All that said, as the IDF and IAF go on the defensive, the DRG is increasingly finding itself fighting a new enemy. The powerful warlords which recently sprung up in the southwest, composed of rogue DRG officers and opportunistic local officials, have continued to engage in widespread looting and other atrocities as they carve out their own fiefdoms. The Diyaristani Rebel Government, in an effort to preserve its image as a legitimate combatant, has begun diverting sizeable forces towards pushing back these other rebels.

Meanwhile, back in Danlina, PM Kross has announced that new elections will be taking place in Girizil. Danlina is signed on an international contract not to intervene in any stage of the democratic process, and Danlina will not officially endorse any of the running parties. The leading party according to recent polls is a more moderate pro-peace, yet not necessarily pro-Danlinian, party. But only a few hundred votes behind is a more radical party that does not want any Danlinian involvement in the city. Both parties are pro shariah law to some extent.

Sevevillian intelligence services today made clandestine contact with the Danlinian authorities in Girizil, raising concerns about the upcoming election. The Sevevillian authorities worry that an anti-Danlina municipal government in Girizil will throw in with the rebels and terrorists. Sevevill, of course, would not cave to any municipal requests that the Danlinians be ejected.

Such a disaster would open the floodgates to the same looting and massacres which took place in Yarlaq after it fell to rebels. The Danlinians, like the IDF and IAF in so many fallen cities, will see themselves besieged in their bases and threatened with chemical weapons. Under such circumstances, rescue will not be possible and surrender followed by a swift massacre will be inevitable.

But Sevevillian intelligence has offered a solution. The Danlinians can provide security for an intensive public relations campaign in favour of a federalist pro-Hamara “Unity Party”, ensuring the safety of those taking polls, spreading pamphlets, and engaging in other activities which will help to bolster support. At the core of this will be a push to showcase Danlina’s invaluable work in the name of peace and security.

Through this plan, the risk of a bad election outcome followed by war and death can be mitigated. And if Danlina is truly committed to protecting the peace, they can help with the preparation of some contingency plans for “liberal interpretation” of the ballot boxes should they indicate a public support for the wrong party.

The 5 rebels then charged into the building with AK-47s and held another 30 people hostage, after 12 hours of attempted negotiations, the Rebels agreed to free the hostages, but as the Rebels walked out thinking they were going to get safe passage out of EUL territory, were captured by Task Force Viper's Counter-Terrorism Unit, one Viper member said about the capture "Nobody gets away with killing innocents that easy.".

The EUL Government has handed over the Rebels to Sevevill Authorities, one of the Rebels in the team was a middle ranking Diyaristani Rebel officer wanted by Sevevill for masterminding over a dozen terrorist style attacks on Sevevill. The Empire Of Union and Liberty has labeled the Diyaristani Rebel state a "Rogue Terrorist State" and is asking the Empire of Sevevill, to allow the EUL Military to join the intervention against Diyaristani Rebels and to quote his Majesty Emperor Sebastian I "I want to see those terrorists rot in jail and be executed for what they have done to not just the EUL but Sevevill as well."

The Empire Of Union and Liberty has labeled the Diyaristani Rebel state a "Rogue Terrorist State" and is asking the Empire of Sevevill, to allow the EUL Military to join the intervention against Diyaristani Rebels and to quote his Majesty Emperor Sebastian I "I want to see those terrorists rot in jail and be executed for what they have done to not just the EUL but Sevevill as well."

There are a few continuity errors here which make it impossible to fit this with the main story. For one, only the government of Sevevill spoke on the proposed ceasefire. The Hamara Administration and rebel factions were silent. Next, we have never seen the DRG engage in acts of terrorism even in Diyaristan. This is highly out of character for them.

If you'll forgive me, I've made some minor modifications to help the story continue.

The government of Sevevill has thanked the EUL for their arrest and extradition of several known rebel recruiters and coordinators in their country. Although these people have not actually comitted any crimes on Imperial soil, Sevevillian prosecutors will nonetheless be happy to try them for association with a known terrorist group. The Empire of Sevevill has gladly accepted the EUL's request to intervene in Diyaristan, and has begun efforts to coordinate the entry of allied troops.

At the same time, sources within the Imperial Armed Forces missin in Diyaristan have stated that news will soon be forthcoming about "president" Alamardin, former leader of the DRG who fell into Sevevillian custody some time ago. Reporters have flocked to the doors of the Ministry of Defense in Seve City, hoping to finally learn about how the man was captured and what sort of punishment he will face for his crimes. Many experts are suspecting death by firing squad, though General McGregor has been known to be more creative at times.

This announcement is towards the citizens of Girizil and all entities involved in the stabilization of Girizil.

After almost a year of attempting to stabilize the city of Girizil, both international and domestic powers have achieved the goal of creating a democratic government for the city. We, the Public Authority of Girizil, are here to carry out the will of the people according to the elections that will take place on January 30th, 2036.
We are also here to protect the people of Girizil by establishing the Girizil National Guard. The GNG will compromise of Diyari citizens willing to protect our only beacon of hope in this war, who will be trained by Dalinian military personnel to one day replace the Danlinan presence in the city.

The Danlinian government, in an unusual act, sent hundreds of Danlinian soldiers home without their equipment. The Danlinian equipment was instead passed to the Girizil National Guard to quickly arm as many of the recruits as possible. Said recruits were trained by Danlinian officers in open combat and urban combat, the training sessions being filmed and leaked to the internet. This was an intentional move on Director Kinian's side to ensure the world knows about the GNG's readiness to fight any threats to the city of Girizil.

The Empire of Sevevill has thanked Union and Liberty for their military contribution and vowed to make all necessary logistical preparations for these expeditionary forces.

While Diyaristan's Hamara Administration would request these forces be deployed to help halt the rebel advance in the central and southern areas of the country, Sevevillian authorities have overturned this and specifically demanded a spearhead attack in the north to link up with Girizil. While supported by IAF elements, the main push would be performed by these newcomers.

There has been a mixed reception to this declaration in Imperial circles. Members of the Imperial government and military have, for the most part, grudgingly applauded the work of Danlina. However, many remain skeptical about whether this "National Guard" will be capable of defending the city and its surrounding area. Being trained and equipped by a power outside the Empire, they have made it clear that this government and its defense force will be dissolved the moment Imperial authorities can take over.

Representatives of the Hamara Administration, on the other hand, have mainly protested what they see as the deliberate fracturing of their nation into competing jurisdictions.

General David Ulla, new commander of the Imperial Armed Forces in Diyaristan, has given his first public address from the presidential palace in Qashmar, flanked by Diyaristani president Hamara and various members of the Imperial and Diyaristani military and police.

The speech was long, digging into the rich history of Diyaristan and her relationship with Sevevill, especially emphasising the importance of the nation's role as a "crown jewel" within the empire. He touched on the war against Oceania, who's brazen and unprovoked aggression shows just how emboldened the rest of Markion is to attack the imperial way of life.

"If the empire's enemies defeat us," he reasoned, "it will not just be the end of Sevevill, but all of us. Whether Connarian, Astianian, or Diyaristani, now is the time to put this fighting aside stand together."

He may not have ever said it outright, but the message was clear: The Sevevillian Empire wanted to return to the negotiating table.


In other news, yet another shootout has occurred in the Girizil district. Rebel fighters of the DRG were in a village some ways outside the main Girizil lines, when they seemingly accidentally came across a group of Girizil National Guard soldiers.

Accounts are hazy, but some have said that the combatants, after a brief exchange of gunfire, called out to eachother that there were no "crows" present, after which both parties withdrew uneasily without further incident.

If other reports are to be believed, this is the first time the newly formed Gririzil National Guard has seen direct combat without support from their Danlinian allies. The incident is already drawing criticism from politicians and news sources in the empire, many of which have been skeptical of the GNG's means and willingness to defend their city.

All that said, as the IDF and IAF go on the defensive, the DRG is increasingly finding itself fighting a new enemy. The powerful warlords which recently sprung up in the southwest, composed of rogue DRG officers and opportunistic local officials, have continued to engage in widespread looting and other atrocities as they carve out their own fiefdoms. The Diyaristani Rebel Government, in an effort to preserve its image as a legitimate combatant, has begun diverting sizeable forces towards pushing back these other rebels.

Violence has certainly continued in western Diyaristan as rebel forces loyal to the DRG advance ever eastward, carving out a larger territory for their independent nation. However, the once massive rush has begun slowing to a crawl.

Pro-imperial garrisons have hardened up on core territory, bolstered by the arrival of Sevevillian and Connarian contingents. Civilians in the east have been mostly friendly to the imperials, with the urban centres of Qashmar and Elevit having received the lion's share of Sevevillian reconstruction money.

Faced by this wall of opposition, the DRG has mostly turned its military back inward, fighting increasing battles with the warlord-controlled regions behind their own lines. After the collapse of Imperial dominion in the west, large swathes of land that had not been firmly taken by the Diyaristani Rebel Government's central authoriy soon fell into the hands of extremists, local powerbrokers, and even DRG splinter groups. At this point, almost the entire southwest of Diyaristan is outside the control of a stable government, be it Imperial, rebel, or otherwise.

MKAZ-operated helicopter models have been spotted in rebel territory

As a result, it comes as little surprise to many observers that the DRG is looking to network. Kamooko-supplied helicopters registered to the Mount Kula Administration Zone were recently spotted in the de-facto rebel capital near Karbek, and anonymous sources within both the DRG and MKAZ have indicated that these historically chilly factions are in talks. Both have been engaged in fighting against various warlord factions, with the MKAZ finding previous success in clawing back the city of Yarlaq.

Usually, such news as this would have illicited a tirade of anger and threats from Gen. McGregor's office, perhaps accompanied by a few days of intense carpet bombing. General Ulla, however, has thus far been silent on the matter.
