2 km behind the Raj Fleet
————————

“Missiles away!” Commodore Alexander Werner, and his command was relayed in an instant, and the bridge went dark, as the missiles in front of them lit up, and took off towards their intended targets. The bridge was filled with life once again. Many of these men and women were relatively new, most never even being near the Crisis of Israelistine Not wanting to fire over the Brit’s heads, they plot a course just north, where they still fire at the ravens, but not possible hit allies.

“Fire!” Alexander said again, once in position. “Jesus, we’re out here kicking butt, and all the spokanites do is shoot pew pew missiles, speaking of which...” he cleared his throat, “all Amit Missile PDS and laser, power up to standby, and target any enemy missiles in sight.” The rounds started pouring out of the frigates and destroyers, while aircraft carriers were preparing to launch their ASFs.

Aboard the PCS Solidarity

"Are you sure?" his first officer asked. Kozel bared his teeth in what was supposed to be a smile, but looked more like how a shark stares at an injured seal. The hairs on the back of the first officer's neck stood on end.

"Considering everything going on up there," he said. "It'd take a miracle to even notice us before it was too late. Fire at will, and tell the other Todaros to do the same. The Gajsek will hang back on this one."

The first officer nodded, and gave the appropriate orders. As the torpedoes were being loaded and the doors opened, Kozel couldn't help but give a little smile. Ever sinceWithin minutes, six torpedoes streaked away from theSolidarity, followed by similar launches from the other three attack subs. They launched a full spread, trying to hit as many targets as possible.

Kozel chewed his lip as he watched the bridge crew track their progress, on alert for any return fire. So far, there was none. After a minute, he turned to his sonar officer.

"Did we hit anything?" Kozel asked. The sonar officer placed a hand on his headset, then nodded a little.

"I'm reading multiple impacts on the nearest ship in the Raven fleet. It's tough to hear through all the noise, but I believe we hit a few other ships as well."

I'm assuming that since the Raven fleet is being attacked by like 3 navies at once, that they'd have a hard time evading the torpedoes. Correct me if this is in error.

THE BALLAS ARE COMING, RED REBELS!

ARRIVING AT SPOKANE, 2019

From an amphibious transport hovercraft landed Kane's army of 4,000 Purple Shirts armed with alien-technology laser railguns smugguled from the future. Behind them rolled a Rhino tank, stolen from the United States Army, now piloted by expert drivers from among the members of the Vagos and Loco Syndicate sets who know well about driving a tank from Kane.

However, the first wave of Purple Shirts are chasing after the running scouts retreated into the enemy lines when some of them are met with gunshot, falling on the sand. The others fall back while Kane himself ducked, rolled, and started shooting his wat.

Crouching, Kane and his followers with him survived the gunshots, making their way to the bunker where they fought some of the Fallen Angels stationed there. The Rhinos and the other Ballas go the other way, while Kane chose to go forward and meet the rebels with his rapid-fire railgun. The other Ballas were joined by a detachment of 2,000 Ballas boring their way into the upper fringes of the country, also armed with railguns. They have a few Vagos as units under the command of a Gothic commissar-general who was a veteran in the Great Meme War of 2015-16 (and a suppliant of quantum-energy-powered railguns) assisted by a female Vice-Commissar.

The combined forces are told to station at the place where they are and await future orders when the battle for a change in government continues. Meanwhile, Kane spent his hours raking rebels when another unit of the Rebels successfully captured him without his army knowing of it.

Over the wide dark blue sheet of the ocean, faint shadows lightly shaded the vast plain as clouds were sluggishly transported to parts unknown. The patterns constantly dissipating and reforming, decaying and rebuilding, and so on...
All of it perfectly natural.
What wasn't natural was a large, vaguely rectangular shadow moving in a rather unorthodox pattern, or at the very least rather unorthodox by the standards of its company. Rather than moving in an unpredictable pattern, the object traversed the sea above the sea with a simple, smooth gliding motion. While they were only just noticeable, this "alien" entity stood out like a bright crimson, bulging, pulsating sore thumb. It was like whatever liquid crossed its path was momentarily swapped out for some otherworldly, dark reflection which was ironically quite opaque.
Even by the standards of the other craft laying in wait at it's destination, it looked "off".
However, the object was anything but alien...at least in terms of it's creators.
New Yugoslavia would bring an end to this conflict, no matter what trials and tribulations they would face. If the people could bring peace to their own nation in the past, then they could surely sort out others, espcially ones in much less turmoil.

Spokane was one of these nations...
Yugoslavia's back baby...

How the hell did this happen?
Well...we don't actually know. Just sort of happened one day.
Is it a reunited Yugoslavia in the 21st century? Is a rebel colony world in the far future? Is it a race of cyborg neo-life at war with any assimilating organisms they come across in the far far future? Who knows, who cares?
New Yugoslavia just is.

As the battle raged it was evident that the Corporation was not gaining any victories this day. As volley after volley of torpedos struck the defenses more and more wholes developed and soon enough a few made it through sending water spray into the night sky coupled with twisted steel and flames as the torpedoes also detonated the fuel reserves for the missiles in the lower decks. Troopers unable to combat the flames and with no prospect of recovery liquidated themselves as was their training, by setting a timed explosive to detonated shortly after discharging their weapons against their own heads. The last trooper on the listing vessel set all the missiles in reserve to detonate as well obliterating the vessels remains protecting the Corporations technology.

Massive detonation after detonation the Raven vessels committed themselves to the deep below. The ships still operable started to pull for a withdraw letting those least damaged take point away from hostile fire while those with the most stayed back to provide cover fire for their retreat.

The dark Bridge suddenly lit up, as close in front, explosions went off, making the bridge go silent. The guns stopped firing, and all was peaceful in the Fleet, watching, as the Ravens blew themselves up, one by one.
“Hmm,” the Commodore said, “I see. Do we know if any Ausinians were on those ships?” He asked
“No, sir.”
“Well then, I want that wreckage inspected for survivors, send a couple of RHIBs out their, make sure they’re armed, and cautious.”

But as they arrived they quickly could tell that they couldn’t. The oil was burning a good few hundred metres away from the wreckage.

Admiral Starshenko frowned. The Raven ships had simply exploded, one by one, until only a few were left afloat.

"Dammit, they're scuttling themselves! We barely got any useful data out of that - maximize capacitor charge time, and focus all fire on the fleeing ships! I want at least partial targeting models to have been assembled by the end of this session. Have the Triglavs cease fire - we need direct hits here, not artillery."

Kinetic batteries aboard the Nesokrushimiy fired, again and again, their dull whumps masked by the deafening sonic booms left by their projectiles.

Great Argentine Confederation
Gran confederación Argentina

Foreign policy / Política exterior

May 17, 2055
El Portavoz post.

Lodensy Fürst against Spokane and his allies.

The president and head of the armed forces of the great confederation of Argentina convened a press conference on May 17 where previously she had announced that she will announce the Argentine government's vision of the "North American plague". Important figures of the Argentine confederation met to be able to witness the words of the totalitarian leader whose military government has given good economic results and seems to keep the civil population in agreement. Newspapers and international media were invited to televise the confederation, invited by the presidency of the nation and strongly attracted by the "journalistic dynamite" that represented this event, several media agreed. As expected, the head of the government presented the northern civil war as an act of inflection of the powers of the North and West, also argued that the cause of the civil war was attributed to the disinterest of Spokane for the welfare of its population.

Image
Photograph of Lodensy Fürst

"Spokane's civil war was provoked by the government's lack of interest in uniting the different social groups of its community and that same disinterest of the government caused a group of young people to decide to foment armed struggle, a government can not forget its people, a government without a people is not a government, it is a recognized and respected authority on its own. The misnamed northern powers impose their economic interests over the welfare of the people and forget the main bases of the state and the economy, the state must guarantee the security and rights of its citizens and the economy must be at the service of the man and not the man at the service of the economy "

After this statement, one of the journalists who was present asked the leader what he thought about the alliance between the countries that had participated in the civil war in favor of Spokane. The leader responded in a calm and at the same time offensive against the countries like the Imperial American Pere Housh, the dominions of British St Helena and the federation of Madossa. Lodensy accused from incompetents to Isabella Jones and British Raj and predicted that their countries are condemned to suffer a crisis in the near future, attacked especially the British Raj and parodied his intervention as an outdated decision that would have served for the last centuries.

"Intervening in a foreign country because it needs help ignoring that your country has similar problems showed me that the intervention of these countries is only an excuse to obtain diplomatic benefits and demonstrate their warlike arsenal in order to increase the production of their industries of war. The defamation is not my job, nor is it something I like even though it's something I do very often, but frankly I doubt much of the leadership and intelligence capabilities of Isabella Jones, the British Raj and all of their ministers of economy who surely they have not been insistent enough to convince their leaders not to interfere in other contries conflicts. I have no doubt that the expenses that this war can cause could generate a future crisis in their countries and surely seek to invade another country or make some kind of radical change in their economic policies in order to compensate for the costs of their belics industries. I doubt, I doubt like an intelligent being, I doubt that the British Raj know what he does and I have to admit what the English did would have been a good strategy in the seventeenth or eighteenth century. This conflict is like a plague, an authentic North American plague that if not treated with care could infect you, so it happened with Madossa"

The Argentine leader ended the press conference by announcing her final position on the Spokane conflict in a direct and simple way.

"The Fallen Angels count on my support in the name of social justice in order to eradicate the corruption of the Spokane Federation"

With this testimony, the leader made clear the position her government will take in the conflict. Lodensy has a whole legal framework that gives him the power to mobilize military troops of the confederation, also has the support of the military government that has long been anti-American. Now we just have to wait for the response of the other powers before these statements.

Sarpedos, Rhyssua

"Not in the mood, Lukan," Gajsek called, sifting through an endless pile of reports. The Raven fleet seemed to be in full retreat, which was good, but now Rhyssua had the problem of trying to supply them, and whether to acknowledge their role in the defense. Gajsek was leaning for ignoring their involvement, and not pursuing the retreating Raven ships.

"It's about Spokane," Lukan said, rushing into his inner office with a fresh stack of papers. Gajsek groaned.

"When is it not about Spokane?" he said. However, he still took the papers and glanced over them. Once he finished reading, he looked up and shook his head. He knew where this was going, and simply didn't have the time for it.

"They're not alone anymore," Lukan said.

"It's Argentina," Gajsek retorted. "A nation that we have virtually no relations with. I'm honestly not sure if we even have an embassy with them. American Pere Housh, Madossa, the Raj, all of them support the legitimate Spokanian government."

"We weren't targeted in the speech," Lukan pointed out. "And they seem to be directing a lot of their resentment towards the Raj. We could work with that."

"They also attacked the Triple Alliance," Gajsek fired back. "We can't abandon our allies to chase some risky gamble with Argentina! Besides, in case you haven't noticed, Rhyssua is still dealing with the aftereffects of communism!"

Gajsek realized that he was almost shouting, and readjusted his voice to a conversational tone. Lukan, to her credit, didn't seem angry. Maybe it was her experience with lying, or maybe she'd just learned to be patient with him. Gajsek preferred the first one

"With a nuclear disaster on its hands and the armies of a dozen nations within its borders, Spokane needs legitimacy and security. The Fallen Angels just can't provide that. The Federation, and King Harrison, can provide it. Are they corrupt? Probably. But they're the best chance for Spokane to survive as a nation, and I can't let Rhyssua jeopardize that."

Gajsek took a deep breath.

"If you really want to, you can send an agent or two into Fallen Angels territory, to see how stable the region is. But that's it," he warned, jabbing an accusing finger at Lukan. "No advice, no supplies, nothing. Just observe and report back. In the meantime, I'm going to reiterate our mission statement, and send part of that armored division we've mobilized to take out the Black Flag."

Lukan nodded, turned on her heel, and left without another word. Gajsek shook his head and returned to his paperwork. She was going to be trouble someday; but he couldn't fire her. She was too smart to let that stop her.

Official Statement of the People's Confederation of Rhyssua

The People's Confederation reiterates its goals within Spokane. The People's Confederation hopes to provide stability to the troubled nation with humanitarian and extremely limited military aid, to help give the people of Spokane security. The People's Confederation resents everything the Black Flag anarchist group stands for, and promises the people of Spokane that Rhyssua will do everything in its power to stop it and any other anarchist groups within the country. The People's Confederation is trying its best to avoid heavy military intervention, since large numbers of foreign troops within Spokane would infringe on its national sovereignty.

Madossan Government Square, Madossa

The Prime Minister, Vaern Lisce, frowned at the reports atop his recently-reclaimed mahogany desk. He'd spent about 3 days simply cleaning out all the coup's decorations, adorning the room in the same way a coffee stain on a white rug would. He realized he had taken his lush office for granted. However, all these days of making the room his own again would almost be thrown out the window due to the stacks of paperwork, piled on his desk.

Vaern Lisce was a popular and experienced politician, having been a part of the parliaments for years, although he was fairly young compared to his comrades in the government. He'd always had a short temper, though, and was keenly aware of it. He was accustomed to having heaps of disorganized paperwork, however, he hadn't had so much ever before, as the coup had brought the government in disarray for over 2 weeks after it ended.

His foreign minister came in, carrying a- compared to the legislation overflowing his inbox -relativity small amount of even more papers. His name was Máté Valentin. His parents had immigrated from Hungary a few decades ago, and he'd always been rather laissez-faire about politics, until a few years ago.

"What's it now, Máté?" Máté uncomfortably looked down at his shoes, as if he was avoiding the topic. The Minister sighed, before replying, "Argentina. They're against Spokane and their allies."

The PM groaned, and messaged his temples. He simply and quietly said, "Mobilize the armed forces. Announce our position with Argentina. Tell my cabinet and the high command that I will organize a conference at..." He glanced at the time. "6 o'clock sharp."

Official Statement from the Federation of Madossa
Encryption: N/A | Subject: The Argentine Confederation | Issued from: The Foreign Ministry

The Federation refutes the claims made by the Argentine Confederation as false. The leader of the Confederation is quite clearly totalitarian, and has shown to been rather hypocritical in its statements about the disinterest of Spokane for the welfare of its population. As such, the civil war in Spokane can hardly be considered as a plague, and as such Madossa did not "become infected" by this "plague."

The Federation sees that the support of the rebel groups by Argentina is clearly just an attempt for Argentina to expand their influence. As such, Madossa orders that the Confederation ceases and desists their support of the rebels, or else there will be consequences.

Isabella is looking out the window to her office thinking about the Spokane Civil War when her best friend and Foreign Minister Sophia Potter walks in with a unhappy look on her face so Bella asks her friend, "Is this have to do with Spokane?"

Sophia responds to the question, " Yes ma'am, it does. Argentina has officially sided with the Fallen Angels and they think you're an incompetent leader. What should we do about them? "

Bella laughs before answering, "They must be idiots if they can stand up against the Triple Alliance plus Semparia and the British Raj. I want you to send out a statement telling Argentina that any attack on the Triple Alliance is an act of war on all three nations of the alliance.

Official Statement of American Pere Housh

The Empire rejects the claim that the Spokane Civil War is a plague and rejects the claim that the Empress is incompetent. Any attack by Argentinean military forces on any Triple Alliance military units will be considered an act of war by the nations of Rhyssua, Madossa, and American Pere Housh. The Empire sees Argentina's support of the rebels as a national security threat. The Imperial government in Richmond orders that Argentina cease and desist all support of the Fallen Angels in Spokane immediately or their will be serious consequences.

Chernograd Governmental Complex

Rasputin glanced at his screen and sighed. Of course the damn Argentinians, with all their haughtiness and comical approach to nationalism, had complicated things once more. Never mind rogue corporations - now the Angels had a major power on their side. It had been a predictable move, but he hadn't expected for it to happen so soon...

The balance of power was a delicate thing, and such upsets merely made it more difficult for the Yeglan detachment to carry out its operations. Well, not much could be done about it now - although the Raj's fleet was now no longer impeding deployment progress. That, at least, was a positive. He held down the intercom button.

"Polina? Contact the Commissar attached to the Spokane operation, and forward this infopacket to him."

He tapped the screen a few times.

"Oh, and call together an emergency Council meeting, please. This conflict needs direction."

Standing up from his chair, Rasputin stretched. It had been a while since he'd last had to call the Ministers together like this. Humming softly to himself, he entered the maze-like mass of corridors and made his way to the Council hall.

Laboratorios LAIMCO, Buenos Aires, great Argentine confederation.
May 20, 2055, 23:30.

LAIMCO is a semi-private and semi-state company that was founded with the objective of generating important scientific advances in the fields of agricultural technology, agrochemicals and pesticides to improve the crops of the Argentine countryside. However, its headquarters in Buenos Aires was a facade of the government that was the victim of several projects dedicated to the development of noble objectives and totally evil objectives. LAIMCO, under the orders and total support of the government of the great Argentine confederation, had been developing several synthetic biological weapons with various military purposes. These ambitious projects were designated from the past by all the military governments of Argentina since LAIMCO was founded and until today, LAIMCO had accumulated a total of 37 viruses and bacteria altered genetically in 27 years of research.

Through the halls of the LAIMCO facilities an Argentine military was walking along with two escorting officers, all dressed in the black clothes that characterized the army of the confederation. The doors opened in different ways, opened from top to bottom, from side to side, from end to end while men could appreciate through the corridors to some stained glass windows that allowed to see the interior of research rooms, experimentation and storage of states projects. They could see test subjects with terrifying appearances belonging to science fiction, but this was not science fiction, these were LAIMCO laboratories. The echo of the military boots stopped when they arrived at the target door, this required that the military man leading the way use a special digital card in the electronic panel that was located next to the door, had to also submit to a retinal check and a fingerprint test by the device before the doors open, exposing a giant room. A spacious and metal centerpiece with dozens of chairs around it locked inside a metal enclosure, outside this enclosure there was a corridor that surrounded the center of the room and was full of computers, televisions and surveillance cameras.
A woman in scientific clothes was inside the metal enclosure and signaled to the military man, telling him to sit on the metal table. They both chose a place at the table, took their chair and sat down. This woman had been in charge of the last ambitious project of Lodensy Fürst for creating a new biological weapon with the ability to spread through the air.

Image
Image of Commander Kurnas

"Good evening, Commander Kurnas, how have you been?" - the scientist began - "Lodensy called me personally to warn me that she was considering using some of our projects, I do not doubt about Lodensy, you know, I know her very well but I would like to know, is it true what she told me?"

"It's true and it's more real than you think, we're considering using the Viedma project in the north america Before you remind me about possible consequences I'll ask you to save that explanation, Lodensy is fully aware of the consequences of using a biological weapon and we are not debating about using it or not, I just need you to order the elaboration of more copies the project viedma and save that on the warehouses "

The scientist crouched under the table and opened a compartment, removed two glasses of glass and a wine of Argentine brand, served both glasses and handed one to Commander Kurnas.

"The wishes of Lodensy are orders, when this conversation ends I will order several of my scientists to replicate the Viedma project ... It is a very nasty virus, you know, Commander Kurnas ?, it attacks directly to the lungs and rots the skin, it darkens it, degrades it and finally causes it to fall ... the pain it causes is truly agonizing, in fact the pain was so immense that several of our test animals died before by a nervous shock that by the virus "

They both took a sip of their wine glasses.

"I have no doubt about its effectiveness, doctor, I thank God and Lodensy for i have been born in Argentina and not in Spokane at this precise moment, all those northamericans are immersed in their diplomatic lies, unaware of everything that is coming ... They are fortunate, I would panic if I were from a foreign town and knew that Lodensy intends to destroy my country with a synthetic virus ... I would enter into total chaos, just by mentioning the word biological weapon, Lodensy could shake North America"

"So the victim would be Spokane, is not it? Or not, they are not yet decided ... well, I think it's better to get down to work, please send greetings to Lodensy from me, as always, It was a pleasure"- The scientist finished with the meeting.

Commander Kurnas withdrew from the LAIMCO facilities along with his military escorts with a frightening step while Dr. Carlson waited for the commander to leave the premises to give new orders to the personnel. She left the metal enclosure and walked to one of the computers in the room where the meeting had taken place, took a microphone and pressed a red button "ATTENTION TO ALL STAFF, THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE WILL BE DIRECTED TO SCRAPER H1 AND P7, PLEASE, GET PRESENTED IN THE RESEARCH ROOM A AT THE LEVEL G2 ". King Harrison slicked his hair back and leaned into the microphone and said “Check,Check. Is everyone ready for my speech?” The staff cheered and he began to speak. “The Argentines are our worst enemy, currently. They’re a technological superpower, who has technology on par with our nation, but their army, from my analysis could be their Achilles heel. I will like to send Agent Emerald King to portray himself as a Argentine who was born in Argentina and then went on to do a year’s studying in Spokane. Team Delta, report on status of cleaning Seattle Exclusion Zone up.”
Agent Timeout spoke “We’ve got it about halfway done with the formula that could counter-Act the nuclear effects. We’re going to start cleaning up the debris in a few weeks.”
King Harrison responded “That’s good to hear. Minster of War, report on the Fallen Angels.”
The aged Minster stood up and began to lecture “We think we’ve tracked down their funding sources, which then we will be carpet bombing later on. For our little Sardini problem, a fusion bomb should do the trick.”

The Great Argentine Confederation wrote:Laboratorios LAIMCO, Buenos Aires, great Argentine confederation.

After giving this message, Dr. Carlson began working on producing new copies of the Viedma project.

At CIA HQ, Langley, Virginia

CIA Director Thomas Lowell walks into the conference room where his department heads are waiting for him. He sits in his chair and begins the meeting, " We may have a serious problem here. Argentina is planning something big but what it is, I do not know. John, what HUMINT assets do we have in Argentina that we can use?"
John Clark, the director of operations, answers, "Sir, we have a few agents high up in their Defense Ministry and Foreign Ministry. We also have an agent in LAIMCO which is an agricultural company partially owned by the Argentinean government. We have confirmed that this company has been illegally making biological weapons for years under the guise of research. The agent goes by the codename 'Cardinal' in all his reports."
Thomas speaks again after John finishes talking, " Thank you John. I will get in contact with President Jones and show her this evidence.

2 hour later, White House,Richmond

President Jones' secretary walks into the Oval Office and says, " Madam President, CIA Director Thomas Lowell would like to see you. He says its urgent."
Isabella says to the secretary, "Very well tell him come in." The secretary walks out and a minute later, Director Lowell walks in and says, "Good evening Madam President, thank for meeting with me on such short notice."

The President begins the meeting by asking the director a question, So Tom, what is it that you needed that is so urgent?"

The Director answers the question, "We have just received confirmation that Argentina is illegally creating biological weapons under the guise of agricultural research. I was asking if we can send in one of our Reaper 2 stealth UAVs to take the facility out."

President Jones answers, "No, we don't know what their air defense systems are like. Have NRO position our reconnaisance satellites over Argentina's military bases so that we will know if their military makes a move.

Chernograd Governmental Complex, Wing B, Council Hall

Rasputin strode into the room, even as the massive blackwood doors swung silently shut behind him. The architects had paid little heed to subtlety when designing this wing of the complex - great expanses of white pseudomarble, interspaced with inlays of gold and glass, dominated the opulent halls. And yet, there was a hidden practicality to it - for one thing, the glass was reinforced. The "marble", too, had strength far greater than any mundane stone, and gold invariably served as a thin covering for vehicle plating-grade alloys.

The ministers were already seated, though not all were present. Some lacked bearing on the issue at hand - despite this, video logs of the meeting would later become available to them on demand, recorded even now by unseen cameras. Rasputin seated himself at the head of the table, and glanced around the room before speaking.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I will not bore you with formalities. This is a short-hand meeting, and one contrived on short notice, but the conflict is progressing somewhat more quickly than anticipated. The raven fleet is no longer a threat, though I suspect that the corporation behind it will resurface sooner or later. Their kind often do. What concerns me now is the involvement of the Argentine Confederation - they've pledged their allegiance to the rebels. This may seem like an incentive to follow suit - after all, we would have a rather impressive power backing us in our operations. At the same time, the Argentinians do not sit well with us ideologically - ultranationalism isn't exactly appealing. I would like to hear your thoughts on the matter."

Albrecht von Liebowitz, Minister of War, cleared his throat.

"My Vozhd, I suggest military intervention nonetheless. Installing a friendly ideology in a monarchist state is worth striking a deal with potentially... distasteful parties. Besides, the Raj and their ilk are far more distant from us when one considers such a standpoint - soulless imperialists, the lot of them."

His sister was quick to reply.

"With all due respect, attacking as of this moment is would be viewed as an irrevocable act of support for those we know nothing about! These rebels could be genocidal maniacs - we simply haven't looked into it enough. I suggest waiting for the reconnaisance operation to proceed before acting, if we are to act at all."

There was a shuffling sound as the Minister of Science righted himself - he had been slouched over the table, as usual. His eyes, though dark-rimmed, were nevertheless piercingly observant.

"I second that. We have no idea what either side is capable of as of yet, aside from intelligence reports. If they deploy something troublesome, we will have time to think of countermeasures before engaging..."

He yawned, and slowly sank back down onto the table. The Minister of Industry saw it fit to chime in, busily tapping away at a tablet.

"A delay would give us time to shift production towards equipment that is better-suited to whatever opponent we're facing. Plus, we could produce surplus arms for the rebels if need be."

The Minister of Finance set down his wineglass thoughtfully.

"As a matter of fact, I would advise striking now, while the iron is hot, so to speak. I foresee unnecessary expenditures should this drag on for longer than it has to. It doesn't matter which side we're on, but if we want to lend our support, we should probably work towards ending this quickly. I stand with Albrecht, then."

Rasputin turned towards the only Minister who had not yet spoken.

"What about you, Eduard? What's your take on this?"

The Minister of the Interior took a few moments to respond.

"Delay it. Spokane may be monarchist, but installing a party on whom so little intel is available is a foolish move. Far too many so-called "revolutionaries" are nothing more than directionless killers."

He smiled faintly, but there was little humour in it. It was more akin to the grin of a shark, edging ever closer to a careless swimmer.

"Believe me, I would know."

Rasputin nodded. He then turned to the rest of the chamber, and steepled his fingers. After a moment or two, he spoke.

"Having considered everyone's stance, I hereby approve of delaying operations. Nevertheless, I want our forces to be fully combat-ready - Albrecht, I trust you will not disappoint in that regard."

The Minister of War bowed his head slightly.

"For the rest of you, I highly suggest making preparations for the upcoming hostilities. The nation should not be taken by surprise, even if by some miracle they decide to attack us directly. This also applies to those Ministers who are not here with us today - consider it an official missive. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your time. The meeting is hereby adjourned."

There was a shuffling of seats as everyone got up from the table, and headed their separate ways. Rasputin took the doors he had entered through, and made his way back to his office. Downtime could wait - he still had a nation to attend to.

Approximately 3km off the coast of Spokane

There six transports surfaced, and wasted no time in unsealing their holds. Each released a single armored vehicle into the frigid waters, then closed once again, before retreating back into the depths. Now the six Granite APCs engaged their amphibious propulsion systems, and began the trek to shore, their occupants already readying themselves for deployment.

Over the horizon of the Atlantic Ocean the craft glided. A ship of the sky, it truly was a spectacle to behold, a perfect example of what humanity could achieve by working in tandem.
Directly ahead was the swarm of ships belonging to Spokane and its allies navies. The next move would be a risky one, but if there is was a chance of an action bearing fruit, then it must be followed out. Besides, it was all too likely that the fleet had already detected the craft, despite IR masking.
Perhaps annoucning their intentions would of been the best course of action. Perhaps the risk that decision would carry of making New Yugoslavia a potential target for various nations and groups was not worth the risk. Either way, this was their mission and it had been carried through, even if they were not content.

"Why does it need to be done in this way? I'm risking mine and my crews lives to fulfill a stealth operation. Are they really that afraid of those krauts up no-"

"Please captain, don't use that sort of language. The government is considering to engage in talks with Rhyussa. The homeland could once again be whole."

Turning back to his youthful acquaintance, he considered those words. As he stroked his dark, barber chin, thoughts crossed his minds concerning that possible future. Would it be worth it, what challenges would lay ahead in bringing these altered states back into the homeland. He hadn't even been alive when it was a people's republic. Mind you, if he had been then he wouldn't be all the way here, not be a long shot.

"Very well then, we'll go through with this operation. I just hope it pays of. A substantial amount of lives are at stake here...

Around this time, the craft was nearing its destination. In a short time span, it was hovering high above the fleet. It had gone well this far, just one last action remained...
After a long silence, sounds started emitting from the ship which formed themselves into a message...

"This is President Pavlik of the United federal republic of New Yugoslavia. We have come to return peace and order to the nation of Spokane. Any help would be appreciated. Talks would be a welcomed addition. As of now, our focus is on bringing an end to the conflict. Once that is done, we shall try and figure out a solution that benefits us all.
By the way. Sorry for not translating this. We were short on time. We'll try and provide proper translations in the future. Apologies for the inconvenience. Over and out."

After the message was delivered, the silence resumed...

Aboard the PCS Solidarity

"Cap'n, we have... something incoming off our port bow."

Kozel tilted his head to one side. His sonar officer was one of the most experienced in his field, having served in various positions within the submarine fleet since its inception. If he didn't know what he was seeing, than Kozel probably wouldn't either.

"Get us to periscope depth," he said. "Let's have a look around."

As they were surfacing, they heard New Yugoslavia's message.

"What're the slavs doing all the way out here?" Kozel muttered to himself. Last time he'd checked, New Yugoslavia was little more than a dream, a memory of a bygone age for the poorer Balkan nations to the south. Now they were across the world, with tech he'd never seen before. May wonders never cease.

"Sir, periscope is up," a petty officer said. Kozel nodded, then looked into it. When he was done, he turned to the rest of the bridge.

"Get me Sarpedos, ASAP," he said. "They're gonna want to hear this from us first."

Sarpedos, Rhyssua

"This... certainly does change things," Gajsek said after awhile. He kept turning over the footage in his mind, still confused as to what the object was, how it worked, and how New Yugoslavia of all nations had gotten their hands on it. Hell, old Yugoslavia was a backwards country to begin with, and that was with the industrialized Slovenia and Croatia, which now both belonged to Rhyssua.

"Indeed," Jonatan Strauss, his Secretary of State. "Things are looking a lot more even. The rebels now have legitimate support, and there are two wild cards in play. We need to tread carefully."

"Should I send agents to find out more about the airship?" Lukan asked. She still hadn't completely gotten over their last argument, Gajsek could tell. He couldn't pick out anything in particular, but she seemed a little stiffer around him than she usually did.

Gajsek waved his hand in dismissal.

"Not yet," he said. "We're scheduling talks in Trieste, remember? If we can't find out about it at the conference, then you have the go ahead. But you'll do it discreetly; we don't want an enemy this close to home."

Lukan nodded her understanding. It was one thing to spar with the Raj, located thousands of miles away. It was quite another to have a hostile neighbor right next to them.

"At any rate," Gajsek said. "I want to send a few more subs out to Spokane. Recall our missile sub, and... throw in an extra fighter group."

"Should we be stepping up our involvement with all these unknowns in play?" Strauss asked. Gajsek shrugged.

"Raven doesn't worry me at the moment, since there's already a dozen other navies in the area," he said. "Argentina isn't a concern; for all their statements they won't be able to provide much direct support. My main concern is New Yugoslavia, and what the hell they're planning to do with their airship."

Official Statement of the People's Confederation of Rhyssua

The People's Confederation asks the United Federal Republic of New Yugoslavia if they would like Rhyssua to host their upcoming conference in Trieste, or if they would like to host it themselves. The People's Confederation would also like to know whether New Yugoslavia supports the Royalists, Fallen Angels, or whether they'd like to mediate. If New Yugoslavia is looking to mediate, the People's Confederation wonders to hat extent their airship will be used.

The CSS John Paul Jones, a Arleigh Burke class DDG, is cruising along at 15 knots on ASW patrol when one of her spotters spots something large flying in the distance. He calls Captain Raúl Sanchez over and says, "Sir, you wanna have a look at this." The Captain looks through the telescope at what appears to be a large airship with the New Yugoslav flag on the side. The Captain say out loud, "What the hell, what are the Yugoslavs doing in this part of the world." A message is heard over the radio being broadcast to every ship in the area. " XO, radio that airship and tell them that any attack against the Confederate Republic or the Triple Alliance will will be considered an act of war otherwise we can any assistance possible." The XO send out the Captain's message to the airship.

An unnamed coastal village in Spokane

The village had been an early victim of the rebellion. Which side had conducted the raid? What happened to the villagers? Only the stone walls knew. Here and there, one could still see bullet-holes. Faded bloodstains too. The houses were now deserted and forlorn, their windows smashed, doors gaping... except one.

This house was, admittedly, as decrepit and run-down as the rest. But its doors and windows seemed to be boarded up quite securely, and a truly paranoid observer might have discerned the faint shimmer of a tripwire, here and there. Someone was apprehensive of visitors.

Within the house, Commissar Yakovlev sat. He was, at the moment, reading through his dossier on the rebels - their known positions and whereabouts, how they could potentially be reached. Suddenly, he was alerted by a flash of red in the corner of his vision. The tiny laptop on the living-room table had lit up, and the cable that trailed from it into the attic hatch seemed to be positivel buzzing. He got up and walked over... and stopped. He restarted the software once or twice, checked the connection to the cable. Climbed up the ladder, out of the attic door and onto the roof, and verified that the antenna was securely bolted on. And that's when he heard it - the Yugoslavian message. He listened for a while, and held up a tiny recorder in the air. When it was done, he glanced at the distant silhouette in the sky, and sighed.

Descending back into the living room, he tapped a few keys on the laptop. The operator's voice was surprisingly clear through the tiny speakers.

"Commissar 2N441, you have been connected. State the routing for your call."

"Get me the Minister of the Interior. Actually, make it a group call, with at least 3 other senior Commissars stationed in Chernograd right now."

"Understood. Please stand by..."

In the darkened room, he waited. Outside, the wind howled through the village of ghosts.

Military barracks of Campo de Mayo, Buenos Aires, Argentine confederation.
May 25, 2055, 13:00 pm.

The military base "Special Military Operations Field May 25" (or popularly called "Campo de Mayo") is a specialized military base and popular recognition within the Argentine population, there are trained several elite bodies, including squadrons commands and special operations units. Its facilities are heavily fortified and have a large staff. The base is property of the Argentine army, therefore this is in charge of managing the base. This base has been iconic due to its functions for the Argentine army and the publicity to which it has been subjected, as well as being the protagonist of episodes and important encounters with personalities from the outside world, since visiting the field of May is considered an honor in the confederation.

A metal barracks was guarded by two military guards wearing metal-clad bulletproof helmets and heavy infantry vests from the army, both guards held nationally-manufactured assault rifles, their gazes fixedly focused on the straight vista in front of them. In front of him passed a woman with long blonde hair appeared, her skin had a pale white color and no wrinkles, her face was marked and well cared for, her height helped the guards could assume that she was very young, she observed with some shyness the guards, while they observed him in a rigid way. When the guards managed to identify who the young woman was, they stepped aside and opened the metal gate of the barracks. The girl advanced into the barracks, her legs made her move quickly so as not to waste any time. The barracks was composed of gray and metal walls accompanied by shelves and furniture with military documentation and maps, in the center of the room there was a metal table, around this metal table there were several chairs located and empty because there were mens with military suits supporting their hands on the table and observing in detail a map of Spokane, the men listened attentively to the words of President Lodensy Fürst until they realized that the young woman had entered the barracks.

The talk of the generals was interrupted by the expected arrival of this particular young woman, so Lodensy formalized the arrival of her. "Welcome Agustina, please take a seat."

The young woman sat in a chair at the end of the table, separated from the other generals.

"I am going to offer you the best opportunity of your life to prove that what you have done in Asia has been a merit of yours and not a stroke of luck ... temporarily you will be promoted to Commander General and will be in charge of leading some infantry divisions in California" - The other military leaders kept their faces indifferent even though many of them were terribly disapproving of the decision of the leader due to the inexperience of the young woman - "It will not be a big division and your mission will be to secure the roads of land transport in order to control them, then I'll explain the details of the mission. "

Agustina looked stunned at her older sister, mentally she coincided in the thoughts of the other military leaders of the confederation, she was very small and at age 21 her experiences were not as great as those of many generals of the confederation or of possible generals enemies, this made her doubt. However, it was also an opportunity to nurture his personal pride. On the other hand, Lodensy knew how inexperienced Agustina was but there were also many advantages in naming her Commander General and designating her to fight in Spokane, one of these advantages was the thirst for leadership and the quick decisions that Agustina made and that allowed the Confederacy to have unexpected triumphs in Asia, the second reason was that Agustina was very young and as she was inexperienced, she was also very attractive and photogenic, it would be a very good image to incite several young people to enter the armed forces of the confederation, for Lodensy, Agustina was to be the popular figure of the Argentine army.

"Yes, ma'am" - The army chiefs gave the military salute to Agustina, while Lodensy took a gala cap from the Argentine army and threw it at her - "Welcome to the team, now pay attention, if the first blow against Spokane is a success, you will be in charge of the mobilization of troops. "

Agustina "Chipi" Fürst, General Commander with 21 years

The famous Argentine who achieved an unthought victory in Asia was designated today as General Commander of the army of the Argentine confederation, being named by her older sister, President Lodensy Fürst. This is a very unusual case due to the rarity with which these events happen on a world scale and it is no surprise that it caused a great confusion among the Argentines. Certainly Agustina Fürst had achieved a heroic victory in Asia after being appointed as temporary commander of the 10th Mountain Infantry Division and having managed to get the Argentine infantry to repel the attacks of extremist rebel groups. The girl was nicknamed affectionately as "Chipi" by the soldiers, this young girl was sent as a volunteer soldier and returned to the confederacion being a very young Capitan de division. From one day to the next, he managed to move from Capitan to Commander General and at only 21 years old, for what reasons was he chosen among so many Argentine military men who have dedicated their lives to serving the country and yet have never reached such a high rank High ?, Lodensy Fürst answered this question without the need for anyone to do it in the official promotion of Agustina, where he promulgated the following words:

"Agustina Fürst will be appointed temporarily as Commander General for her effective strategic visions, her courage and her unwavering loyalty to the confederation. This reckless bet can be criticized by many but it is true that whoever does not risk does not win. I know that many have faith in Agustina Fürst and have their just reasons to do so, this young woman has shown sufficient leadership capacity to possess this military rank, on behalf of the high military of the armed forces we hope that she fulfills her duty in a way satisfactory "

President Lodensy's reasons are not clear yet, but it is impossible to deny that Agustina Fürst is a very incredible military and many members of the armed forces have faith in her despite her young age. But, the most important question is perhaps; Why was Agustina Fürst appointed at this time? Will she participate to free the people of Spokane from her government?

I do not use NS statistics.

Fallen Angels Territory, Spokane

Agron Dornik didn't like what he saw. The only thing that'd look worse was Lukan's face when he reported back to her. But that could wait. Now, he had more pressing matters to deal with.

Agron gave a half smile at the guards around him. They didn't smile back, and instead gripped their weapons more tightly. They looked like your average terrorists; no real uniforms outside of a general color scheme (forest green), with ak-47s and a mix of hunting rifles and handguns. However, it was nothing to scoff at when your hands were tied and in a truck with ten of them.

Agron tested the ropes binding his hands. He was able to move his hands around a little bit, but not nearly enough to untie the ropes, or make any attempt at escaping. Besides, he was here as an observer. Lukan had told him to be discreet; what she didn't tell him was that everyone in Fallen Angels territory carried ID of some kind, to prevent them from being accused as a spy and dragged off.

"English?" he asked. One of the guards nodded warily. Noticing them grip the backs of their seats, Agron braced himself as the truck jolted over a pothole. As a parting gift, the pothole gave him a new bruise on the back of his head.

"What is it?" the guard asked, narrowing his eyes. Agron licked his lips as he tried to think of something to say, and how to say it in English. Russian, Farsi, Chinese, all seven founding languages of Rhyssu? Definitely. English and Spanish? He knew how to ask for the bathroom and say "Hi, I don't speak your language. Do you speak Rhyssu?". Not exactly helpful in this scenario.

"Bathroom?" he asked, crossing his legs to help get his point across. The guard speaking to him rolled his eyes, while everyone else in the truck had a good laugh at his expense. Agron gave a strained smile and laughed a little. He was rewarded by a slap across the face.

"Next time it's a punch," a different guard warned. Agron noticed a red stripe on the man's uniform and assumed he was the commanding officer. Agron nodded once, then closed his eyes and tried to get some sleep.
Yooooo!

Think of me as a mix of Austria-Hungary and Yugoslavia (democratic, of course). How you get the name "Rhyssua" out of that, you ask? Shhhh....

NS stats are wack, so I use NS Tracker: http://nstracker.epizy.com/nation.php?nation=rhyssua
