Private Mitchell Whelan was not having a good day. At all. While escorting a Madossan convoy, a group of militants had ambushed them with RPGs and machine gun fire. Worst of all, his radio had been broken, and he could not contact the rest of his platoon.
All of a sudden, 6 large helicopters appeared out of what he thought was thin air, coming straight towards him
Struth! Why? Why? He through to himself as he laid down suppressing fire against the militants.
The 6 (what he finally identified as Apaches) Apaches started firing upon the enemy position, and the roar of the choppers, the firing of machine guns, and the deafening blast was so loud, he reckoned he could hear it from Perth.
A helicopter swung around, and he identified their logo as Pere House helicopters.
Friendlies.
Realizing this, he desperately flashed the side view mirror on the left of his truck, attempting to speak in morse code, hoping they'd recognize it.
Captain Logan Rogers spots the flashes coming from one of the trucks sees that it is morse code. He uses the lights on the helicopters to send a message back,'Your company is on its way here, hold out as long as possible. We will keep the enemy pinned down until we have to refuel and rearm.
The Madossan Company arrived, at drove back the militants.
"Okay, we've received contact with our first squad, and they've driven back the enemy with the help of.. uh.. 6? 6 American Pere Housh Apaches."
"Okay, good, now, what was the casualties?"
Casualty Report
Madossa:
9 dead
2 injured
1 missing
"Okay then, I'll send it to base," replied Lieutenant Jedaiah Marks.
Jedaiah's platoon had been ambushed in the middle of last night, when his convoy was almost completely destroyed. He was amazed that his 1st squad wasn't entirely dead.
Whew.
"Captain Jesse Lefebvre?"
"Yes, Lieutenant Jedaiah?"
"We've received contact from the 1st and 2nd squads. They were ambushed, and received help from some Pere Housh Apaches. At least 9 dead, 1 missing."
"Okay, I've got it. Over."
Bzzt.
