Behind the Tiger's Curtain [CLOSED]

Behind the Tiger's Curtain
A continuation of A Cold War in March.

Behind the Tiger's Curtain, agents against the Federation's interests have been planted. Exactly one month after a slandering attack of denunciation was carried out by the ethnostatist Anglomir and their reactionary allies, a terrible and great uprising was conducted in the Unitary State of Melanesia, a State of the Pan-Asiatic States. The attack was, officially, carried-out by local fanatics. In truth, this was but a taste of a series of Cold War-esque attacks being carried-out by secret agents to disturb elections and the political climate in the Pan-Asiatic States.

The Federal government of the States is clueless, but suspicion is a powder keg hidden within the reach of retributive officials and patriotic loyalists. The solidarity of a Superpower Federation less than 30 years old is then hurled into the limelight. The Asians have their backs against the wall, but they don't even know it yet.

Can the finesse of a worldwide conspiracy against a once strong Federation triumph to build an influence that will suit Western interest and bring the worst nightmares of the Revolution to life? Or will the allies of the Pan-Asiatic States come to aid in the struggle before the lasting political impacts begin to solidify?

A saga of nations is to be sealed with blood. The time for conflict is finally upon us. Asia, long united, stands on the brink of divide.

CRISIS: Armed Protests In East Timor, State-President Nearly Killed In Mob-Attack!
Neo-Manila Post
March 25th, 2019

DILI, EAST TIMOR—Rallying deterrence activists who have been on-strike in Melanesia for nearly a month now have taken to armed protestation! At roughly 6:41 in the evening today, heavily armed personnel stormed protest-barricades and nearly shot the State-President of Melanesia, Kerika-Rebia Kasi.

Parallel to the events in the capital, insurrectionists across the East Timor region attempted to storm key ports following the rallying call of the uprising that had occured in Vladivostok, where it had been conducted by the Russian National Bolshevik Party. The attack in Dili was timed during a military parade being conducted in honor of the militarization, which leads many to believe the attack was targeted as an act of terrorism against the Pan-Asiatic States.

The plan, based on recovered documents, was to do what had been done in Vladivostok but through armed means, with masses holding the ports hostage until the government gave into the demands of demilitarization.

The mastermind of the uprising remains unknown despite many rather believing the idea of the lack of one (and that the attack was a skirmish more than a premonition with loose coordination), yet officially, an investigation is already underway under the authority of the Ministry of State and Public Security.

No official claims to the attack have been made, and the official government statement on the issue remains that the attack was in no way, a coordinated assault, but rather, a minor skirmish conducted between a few distraught citizens carrying personal firearms. Following the uprising, well-known abolitionist terror-cell, the Neo-Kuomintang Army, paid 'tribute' and took advantage of the anarchy in the region by releasing a propaganda video on social media stating that such an uprising demonstrates the sheer fallibility of the Pan-Asiatic States to terrorism, and the government's incapability to address the major concerns of the people.

While officially, both uprisings have been quelled at this time, and the propaganda video suppressed, the entire nation has turned its eyes on the Southeast Asian state, questioning how the flames of rebellion had been fanned into a violent pyre in the first place.

March has been shrouded with much controversy surmounting the issue of the rearmament of Melanesian lands, as for most, it had been an issue of protecting the State's autonomy within the Federation, and the presence of Federal military units, having bypassed Congressional limits through an executive decree, on the soil of an autonomous state, had long been seen as an act of violation against the 'national characteristic' of Melanesia. Despite this, vocal activists were more avid of the termination of the militarization through more legal manners, such as congressional aspirant Kumi-Kispe Maru, who had also nearly been killed by the hostilities this evening.

Thus, residents were taken by surprise when at 6:41, the furious mob begun its sporadic attack towards an official Pan-Asiatic States Armed Forces convoy conducting a parade-march on Americo Tomas Avenue, near the Office of the State-President, in Dili. An esoteric order was passed-on to the officers of the military through their radios. Minimal casualties were permitted on the civilian side. The tanks began to vacate at this time. Insurrectionists opening-fire downed multiple casualties on the Army's side, who desperately took cover, awaiting the gendarmerie.

In the chaos of the moment, protestors nearly killed the State-President of Melanesia, as a small group was able to flank the gendarmerie from behind and nearly storm the office. According to post-action accounts by the gendarmerie, the mobsters' approach through the lobby's back entrance was halted when a few agents were alerted by their footsteps. A short firefight was conducted when two members of the group attempted to open-fire on the gendarmerie agents using surprisingly military-grade LMGs. The State-President was soon after, escorted to the helipad and airlifted to the capital, where he remained for the rest of the encounter.

On the avenue, reports indicate that the protestors ripped the guns off the slurred evacuation of armed men quickly. This hour-long affair would take place until riot police could quell the resistance to a stalemate. At 7:41, pushing on both sides of the spectrum took place, each side charging like batteries. Leaders of the rebellion began hauling vodka cocktails to subvert the advancing shields of the gendarmerie. The initial attack saw 5 dead on both sides and 18 arrested.

At 7:30, in the Estádio Municipal de Díli, Kumi-Kispe's initially pacifist rally was brought ablaze by a planted bomb, an explosion shattered an entire wing of the gendarmerie, setting fire to a few others. Gunshots succeeded the bomb, and the fighting had begun here as well. Whilst the Congressman barely escaped with his life, 3 Brukean journalists (including popular reporter Kidan Zalelew of the Dubian), and a cameraman were caught in the blast radius. 6 well-trained and well-equipped insurgents carrying modernized submachine guns fought with fervor but were met with echoing LMG suppression. After an hour of intense gunfire, and 2 of their comrades badly injured, the hostiles surrendered with their arms raised and their weapons on the ground.

The third insurgent choke-point in Dili alone was a Catholic prayer-rally in the Capela Sagrada Família. At this church, the perimeter was quickly secured, and the rallyists quickly surrendered. Each were inspected, and the gendarmerie faced no resistance. An order was placed: suspected whereabouts of the insurrectionists were raided based on eyewitness accounts. Several interrogated witnesses guide them underneath the sewers. The gendarmerie disperse around the area and discover plans to bomb 4 more ports around the area of East Timor. The plans are terminated and many more conspirators are arrested.

At 11:00 PM of the 25th, the situation was declared to have been quelled, and cleanup of the carnage commenced. Throughout East Timor, including attacks from both the ports and in the capital, it has been recorded that 34 have been killed and over 200 arrested await trial for the crime of conspiracy against the local government. In the ports of East Timor, many of the insurgents simply gave-up when they had run out of ammunition.

Many question whether the situation has truly been extirpated. Head of State Yoon-Sook has stated in an interview, that the Neo-Kuomintang "may have been right" to call-out the Pan-Asiatic States' mistakes. Many questions regarding the seemingly precise coordination of the attack remain unsolved, but many are more concerned that this may be a sign of weakness for the solidarity of the Federal governance capabilities which have long been prided upon by the Pan-Asiatic States.

Pan-Asiatic States Rejects Deterrence Talks Proposed By West American Union
Neo-Manila Post
March 21st, 2019

The Jules Sevier Long-Range Missile Detachment Base

Pictured above is the Jules Sevier Long-Range Missile Detachment Base, and the Fort Frontier complex as a whole, is the crown jewel of the West American Treaty Organization (ራብ አሜሪካን ህብረት), which the Royal Republic of Bruke has ceded membership to. Only a few years before, West American Treaty Organization member states had debated amongst themselves whether the Long-Range Missile Detachment should be scrapped, along with the International Satellite and Missile Defense, as relics of a more perilous age.

This afternoon, their Treaty Organization, with Tamru Negasi, Bruke's newly-elected Prime Minister leading them, issued a declaration aiming for an agenda to deter Pan-Asiatic military build-up: to have missiles of their own pointed towards the East (which had been the original plan when Jules Sevier and the other bases were first built, and standing WATO policy up to today) would not be conductive to easing tensions. According to Brukean articles, the decision was made as such: the L-RMD was to be stood down, and an offer of hosting a summit was be made, in the hopes of spurring some kind of detente between East and West, citing:

We are deeply concerned at the prospect of Pan-Asiatic deployment of long-range ballistic missiles pointed at the United States- doing so would inevitably put the whole of the Americas at risk, the West American Union included.

We have, at this critical juncture, chosen not to have our forces in a state of prolonged readiness- as a sign of good faith and good will.

The security element of the West American Union, the West American Treaty Organization, at our request, will make sure that the Long-Range Missile Detachment stands down- the first time this has occurred since the program was created nearly 50 years ago.

With the goal of facilitating a lasting peace for the world at large, we will make our governments available to host a summit between the Pan-Asiatic States and the United States of America.

However, the Pan-Asiatic Sixth Administration, with the support of the Federal constituent executives, have issued their own proclamation rejecting any concession of nuclear armaments, especially of ballistic missile silos in Melanesia. This counter-declaration made shortly after the preceding order has been reprinted by the Neo-Manila Post:

SONGUN—an ideological crusade that is derived from the Four Military Lines policy implemented 1991, first in Korea, then throughout a nation learned of the unprepared-for catastrophes dealt by the Third Pacific War. The doctrine's aim was to arm the entire population, fortify the entire Federation, train every soldier to become a cadre and modernize the entire military sector. It is the idea that national independence, sovereignty and prosperity is dependent on being organized and well-armed. It is a tradition of this Federated People's Republic.

Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary! That is the dictate of Karl Marx. The Kautskyite advocacy of “disarmament”, which is addressed to the present governments of the imperialist Great Powers, is the most vulgar opportunism, it is bourgeois pacifism, which actually—in spite of the “good intentions” of the sentimental Kautskyites—serves to distract the workers from the revolutionary struggle. For this advocacy seeks to instil in the workers the idea that the present bourgeois governments of the imperialist powers are not bound to each other by thousands of threads of finance capital and by scores or hundreds of corresponding secret treaties (i.e., predatory, plundering treaties, preparing the way for imperialist war).

We reject any attempt to disarm revolutionary, Pan-Asiatic society. The Sixth Administration hereby inform the general public that a General Deliberation to concede or not was initiated at exactly 5:00 this afternoon, 21st March, in the People's Year 2019. The West American Treaty Organization's good intentions disregard the diplomatic, class-based disposition of the Pan-Asiatic States. An overwhelming 7 out 9 State-Presidents have voted non-concession, and to continue, instead, the militarization, training, drills, and experimentation of military assets in the Melanesian islands.

Ms. Maria Leonor "Leni" Gerona Robredo, TSSR: Nay
    Mr. Kerika-Rebia Kasi, USM: Nay
    Mr. Joko Widodo, FNN: Yea
    Ms. Mani Rojumanong, TIPRI: Nay
    Ms. Cho Nandar, BSSR: Nay
Mr. Nguyễn Phú Trọng, TSSR: Yea
    Mr. Xi Jinping, China: Nay
    Mr. Kim Jong-Un, DPRK: Nay
    Mr. Kazuo Shii, JSSR: Nay

Special notice must be given to the negative stance taken by the State-President of the Unitary State of Melanesia, Kerika-Rebia Kasi, who, under the powers bestowed upon her by the People, has initiated this special deliberation in the first place, leading the opposition to the propounded antithesis. Any concession or compromise of the Pan-Asiatic States towards its WMD programs, any foreign-influenced demilitarization, nor any quasijudicial action taken towards the disarmament of the Federal military will not be tolerated by the constituents of this democratic government.

With the goal of securing the sovereign interests for the people of Asia at large, we strongly oppose any summit short of the United States' admission and consequent apology of their plots to sabotage Pan-Asiatic trade in the Atlantic. We will continue to arm the proletariat for the sake of independent self-realization. We will continue to host Naval and Aerial exercises in the regions deemed strategically compromisable by the Ministry of Defense.

Finally, we demand that all nations concerned respect the democratic process of the Pan-Asiatic States. We stand resolute.

Wèi Rénmín Fúwù!

While it remains unclear whether tensions between WATO and the Pan-Asiatic States will bear any escalation, Asians remain cautious of the situation.

His Majesty's Journal of Parliamentary Record: Minister's Questions, in the House of Deputies, on the 28th of March, 2019 (አንዲቱ ዔዴዴ አሥራ ስምንት; ሁሇት አንዴ ሺህ አሥራ አንዴ; the 18th of Mägabit, 2011)

The Speaker of the House of Deputies (Simon Mengesha, MHD for the 76th District- Metropolitan Province): "The Minister of Foreign Affairs."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs (Beryihun Gezaee): "I am ready to answer whatever questions Members of this House wish to ask."

The Speaker of the House of Deputies: "Minister's Questions has now begun. The Opposition Leaders may choose to exercise their right to ask a question on behalf of their parties, or allow other Members to do so in their stead."

The Primary Leader of the Opposition (Sefanit Fasika, MHD for the 51st District- Central Province): "Will the Foreign Ministry seek to follow up on the President's offer of a summit between the Pan-Asiatic States and the United States of America, and should Deputies expect that the Prime Minister will take a leading role in foreign policy going forward?"

The Minister of Foreign Affairs: "The offer of a summit has been made and rejected- and though we would welcome a more positive response from Neo-Manila, our focus is on responding to the terrorist attack that occurred just a few days ago in East Timor. We want to make sure that the families of those who have died are able to hold proper burials, and that the perpetrators are brought to justice. As for the second question, I would remind the Deputy that the Constitution allows the Prime Minister to advise the President on matters where foreign and domestic affairs intersect."

The Primary Leader of the Opposition: "Is the Government willing to work with Pan-Asiatic authorities to make sure that, as has been said, 'the perpetrators are brought to justice'?"

The Minister of Foreign Affairs: "Of course. The Royal Republic has a long history of working with other countries in the fight against terrorism, whether working with the United States to fight Al-Qaeda or working with Ethiopia and Somalia to fight Al-Shabaab."

The Primary Leader of the Opposition: "Does this mean that...."
The Speaker of the House of Deputies: "I will remind the Deputy from Central Province that she is allowed only one Supplementary Question. The Secondary Leader of the Opposition may now ask his question, if he so chooses."

The Secondary Leader of the Opposition (Benyam Mekonen, MHD for the 34th District- Central Province): "Thank you Mister Speaker. I could not help but notice that the Foreign Minister failed to mention previous operations during the decolonization conflicts against the People's Revolutionary Front, or the operation in Diyaristan, which has just recently ended, against the Diyaristani Communist Party and other armed groups- one of which was the PRF."
The Speaker of the House of Deputies: "Does the Deputy from Central Province have a question for the Minister?"

The Secondary Leader of the Opposition: "I am merely giving context, Mister Speaker."
The Speaker of the House of Deputies: "You may continue, but make haste."

The Secondary Leader of the Opposition: "With the Pan-Asiatic tendency of sponsoring terrorism, such as in Diyaristan, is it not possible that the attack in East Timor was a false flag operation by hardliners intended to stir up support for further interventionism against perceived enemies- including the Royal Republic?"

The Minister of Foreign Affairs: "We are highly certain that due to the circumstances leading up to the attack, and how the attack itself unfolded, this was not a false flag operation, but instead a planned effort by anti-regime forces to spark an uprising. In other words- this was an internal incident with internal causes- the reporters from the Dubian were tragically at the wrong place during the wrong time."

The Secondary Leader of the Opposition: "Should we not look upon this failed uprising as a sign that the dictatorship is giving way to democracy- that now is the time to seek out potential allies on the ground to create a free and prosperous Asia?"

The Minister of Foreign Affairs: "I think that at this time we should remember what is within the reason of state, and what is not. Brukeans have died on foreign soil. All of our efforts should be focused on bringing their remains back home and bringing their killers to justice."

The Tertiary Leader of the Opposition (Rahel Masresha, MHD for the 99th District- Metropolitan Province): "I have had the chance to speak with Kidan Zalelew's family and friends, and they are devastated by her passing. What exactly does the Government intend to do to make sure that her loved ones find closure?"

The Minister of Foreign Affairs: "First, I would like to once again extend my condolences to all those from the Dubian who have died- they represented the best of our country and what it stands for."

[Several people sitting in the Visitor's Gallery interrupted the Foreign Minister's answer by applauding, but were not removed from the chamber given the sensitivity of the discussion. The day's proceedings were not interrupted again.]

The Minister of Foreign Affairs: "Our Embassy in the Pan-Asiatic States is in the process of reaching out to authorities there for more information on the attack. That would be the first step. Once that process is complete, there can be further steps."

The Tertiary Leader of the Opposition: "Mister Speaker, I have no further questions for the Foreign Minister."

The Quadrary Leader of the Opposition (Mekdes Gebreselassie, MHD for the 89th District- Metropolitan Province): "Has there been a travel advisory issued for Brukeans who wish to travel to the Pan-Asiatic States?"

The Minister of Foreign Affairs: "Yes, a travel advisory has been issued in light of the attack. The Transportation Ministry has asked airlines to have flights to Neo-Manila suspended until further notice. An extraordinary step to be sure, but given the lack of regular travel between our country and theirs [PAS], there is little communication between our tourism and trade organizations and their Pan-Asian counterparts. The risk of further attacks is far too high to allow for regular travel, as was planned previously."

The Quadrary Leader of the Opposition: "Mister Speaker, I have no further questions for the Foreign Minister."

The Speaker of the House of Deputies: "As all Opposition Leaders have asked their questions, the House will adjourn for exactly ten minutes- upon the resumption of proceedings, Deputies from the governing party and any of the opposition parties may ask questions in accordance with the results of the lottery conducted this past Thursday. This House is now adjourned."

His Majesty's Journal of Parliamentary Record: Prime Minister's Questions, in the Senate, on the 28th of March, 2019 (አንዲቱ ዔዴዴ አሥራ ስምንት; ሁሇት አንዴ ሺህ አሥራ አንዴ; the 18th of Mägabit, 2011)

The Speaker of the Senate (Essayas Asmerom, Senator for Prince Bruce Province): "The Prime Minister."

The Prime Minister (Tamru Negasi, Tihuti Sewi Hoy [Great Gentleman] of the House of Nobles- the City and County of Brukeville): "I am ready to answer whatever questions Senators wish to ask."

The Speaker of the Senate: "Prime Minister's Questions has now begun. If no one from the governing party wishes to ask a question, I will do so on my own initiative."

The Speaker of the Senate: "As no one has spoken up, I will now ask a question of my own. Does the Government believe that the group behind the attack in East Timor poses a security threat to the Royal Republic, and if so, what is its response?"

The Prime Minister: "At my request, the Parliamentary Commission on Terrorism is investigating the Neo-Kuomintang to determine whether or not to designate the group as a terrorist organization subject to the provisions of the Act for the Control and Suppression of Criminal, Terrorist, and Cultic Organizations. When the Commission releases its initial report, the Government will act accordingly."

The Speaker of the Senate: "Thank you. Does any Senator from the Opposition wish to ask a question?"

Senator Nigist Benyam, of Central Province: "I would like to ask the Prime Minister about attribution for the attack."
The Speaker of the Senate: "Go ahead."

Senator Nigist Benyam, of Central Province: "Does the Prime Minister believe that the Pan-Asiatic government is completely innocent in this violent attack in East Timor?"

The Prime Minister: "If the Senator means to ask whether I believe that the Pan-Asiatic government is innocent in terms of committing the attack- yes. If the Senator means to ask whether I believe that the Pan-Asiatic government has exasperated an already tense political climate during election season by risking nuclear war, my answer is also yes. The two conclusions are not mutually exclusive."

Senator Nigist Benyam, of Central Province: "Mister Speaker, I have no further questions for the Prime Minister."

The Speaker of the Senate: "Are there any other questions?"

The Speaker of the Senate: "In that case, seeing as there are no more questions, the Senate is now adjourned until 7 'o clock this evening."

Note from the Journal: Due to the Senate's small size, the Speaker of the Senate is allowed to participate in votes, debates, PMQs and MQs- unlike the Speaker of the House of Deputies.

Note from the Journal: Text in brackets, like so: [text], signify that the information has been added in by our editors for clarity.

Federated People's Republic of Pan-Asiatic States

Life in the capital had not normalized since the events of March 25. Many remain very gripped with fear and disenchantment of the state-authorities' capabilities to defend her own people, and even more, like the Brukean government officials, were skeptical of details surmounting the attack in Melanesia. The nation was in mourning of the many lives lost during the bombing and shooting that had occured in East Timor. From the hot deserts of Outer Mongolia, to here, the Pearl of the Orient, news cycle coverage centered around recovery and thirst for vengeance.

The bodies of the Brukean nationals that had perished were swiftly returned to the Royal Republic as per request, and as a goodwill olive. The Congress of Soviets feared too, that, considering the history of Bruke and the Pan-Asiatic States, this would be seen as a slanderous occurrence. Every effort was made to broadcast the legitimacy of the damage that had been done. There was much rebuilding to be done, for beyond the physical and immediate, there was the diplomatic and collateral.

In Malacañang Palace, the Secretary-General sent for a summon. A summon that was long-awaited. He had sent the Miao Coven idle in state-funded accommodations a few blocks away from the Palace, almost disrespectfully. But, for the past few weeks, he had no choice, even if he was dying to discover what those distant Asiatic allies had in store for him. He had spent the past few weeks meeting key local leaders, reorganizing a frightened local government in Melanesia, and appointing new bureaucratic managers; even going so far as creating new commissary roles within the Melanesian government to bypass restrictions which made repairation procedures take awfully longer than it should take to be approved and to be carried out.

No longer, thought he. A messenger of tan skin and East Asian complexion, no less than 20 years of age, was sent to fetch the Mian Coven. It was time to fulfill the appointment.

The messenger made his way through a typhoon of journalists and activists. The Office of the Secretary-General had been hounded by both foreign and local media for days, as reporters beggingly request more disclosure on the event's details, as well as the progress of the investigation. The Secretary-General, Guanyu, on the other hand, time and time again, made it clear time and time again that all of the best efforts were being exerted by the executive bodies. And this was no lie.

Released through the Government Information Service on April 8th, 2019. Drafted and sent out on the same day:

Statement from the Office of the President on the Return of the Remains of the Journalists Killed in East Timor, and Further Matters:

At this time, the President wishes to pass along the sincere thanks of several of the families and friends of the deceased to those in the Pan-Asiatic government who ensured the swift return of the remains of their loved ones. In turn, the President wishes to extend his condolences to the families and friends of those Pan-Asian citizens who died in the attack.

The Prime Minister has released the initial report of the Parliamentary Commission on Terrorism on the Neo-Kuomintang- it has been listed as a terrorist group by the federal government. Affiliated persons, whether formal members or not, are now subject to the Act for the Control and Suppression of Criminal, Terrorist, and Cultic Organizations, which provide for the harshest penalties under the law -the maximum prison term allowed, imprisonment with special conditions, or the death penalty- for those who are convicted of a felonious financial crime or a violent felony.

Beyond applying anti-terrorism legislation to the Neo-Kuomintang, the Royal Republic stands ready to offer any other assistance that may be required to bring the perpetrators of the attack to justice.

RE: Anti-Terrorist Action From the Nation of Bruke

Image

    Honorable President,

I, and my Sixth Administration, as well as on behalf of the entirety of the Federal Congress of Soviets, return the most sincere gratitude and kindness you have shown my people over the course and beyond the events of this heartbreaking tragedy, as well as the condolences you have extended for the unprecedented number of innocent lives lost conducted in the name of treacherous zealotry.

We appreciate the actions you have taken to condemn the Neo-Kuomintang and their aims against the stability of our peaceful Federation. I am glad that both the executive and legislative body of Bruke have joined many great states of the world in acknowledging the aforementioned group's violent nuisances, further am I honored to be learned that you extend your hand with open arms in aiding our struggle to protect the best interests and safety of the victims of terrorism.

You may be aware that our own commitments to national security and justice against the perpetrators of the events of March 25 have led us to the development of the Special Police Force, under the wing of the Ministry of State and Public Security. This new organization is rising under the newfound authorities bestowed by the Federal Congress upon the merging state-power of both the late Ministry of State Security, the nation's special intelligence agency, and the Ministry of Public Security, the nation's gendarmerie organization. Heightened advances in both this political field, as well as in scientific and digital fields, have empowered us to operate under the guise of both local and international security.

We therefore freely disclose upon the Premier authority of the Royal Republic, under a presupposition of confidentiality, facets of information that have led us to creating this new government faction. Attached to this communication is private, unreleased data concerning the particularities of the rifles used in the attack. The Ministry of State and Public Security, simply put, in the course of its investigation, has theorized that the terrorist perpetrators of this attack may not be mere rouge mobocratic elements with interests against the political actions of the Pan-Asiatic States. The calibre of the weaponry, information left behind by the perpetrators, and strategic fortitude of this assuage are alien to the known terror cells operating in the States. We believe that a much grander scale of cohibition to make it look as such may be in play. We believe a far greater actor has been planted within the ranks of the Pan-Asiatic administration.

Thus, it is imperative that, taking on the Royal Republic's offer of support, a confidential delegation be conducted between our two nations to determine the next course of action. Humbly, we ask for the clandestine intervention of the Royal Republic, possibly through an incorporation of Brukean intelligence agency advisors and Brukean special operation units into the Pan-Asiatic Special Police Force.

Further details can be discussed if you could take us up on our accord. By the grace of God almighty who blesses our decisions, we thank you once again for your continued support in the fight for justice and against Fascism.

    Yours Truly,

The representatives of the Miao Coven were somewhat disappointed they couldn't start the meeting when they came. It was understandable, however, with all the chaos happening and the two Asias uneasy, love-hate relationship in the past. Rigid as they seem to be, the Miao was still a subsidiary of the Ramadhan family, and know better than to let formalities affect work.

The Coveners, who had been waiting at a nice hotel for the opportunity to start diplomacy, were glad to see messenger come and take them back to the Secretary-General's office. At first, they seemed to have difficulty crossing the sea of people. Once the Amenrian delegate caught the eyes of the crowd, though, passing through got easier. They followed the messenger, trusting him to take them to the leader of the Pan-Asian States.

Malacañang Palace
Metropolitan Neo-Manila
Federated People's Republic of Pan-Asiatic States

The members of the Amenrian delegation was escorted by a black State-funded limousine entitled to international representatives with business in the Federation. At the entrance of the Palace, members of the Cadre for Party Security cleared the way for the Miao Coven through the main entrance, beyond a narrow driveway swarmed by reporters, to gain access into the Palace and meet the Secretary-General.

Malacañang Palace sat by a river at the heart of the metropolitan. Once a vacation home for elitist collaborators to the Spanish occupation of the Philippines, then a political refuge on-and-off between Communist revolutionaries and Japanese imperialists, destroyed by a nuclear knockout-blow by the Soviet Union, and rebuilt late into the 20th Century; the very establishment was a symbol of the Federation's long and painful struggle. This was the kind of splendor it represented.

The messenger led the Miao Coven through the humble halls of the Palace then through a flight of stairs. Beyond an acacia-wood door, the executive leader lay still and patient, in a somewhat slightly dusty office with ancient architecture. Bookshelves lined the walls of the office, with everything from Karl Marx to Albert Camus. The messenger entered first.

"Comrade Abra, representatives of the Ramadhan Family of Amenria.", announced the boy. He made a short bow, and left the room.

The Secretary-General rose from his seat in respect. He waved his hand toward two low-lying couches, between which lay a coffee table, in front of his desk.

"Please, friends, take a seat. I am pleased to make your acquaintances, most esteemed delegates. I apologize for the delay of this meeting. It is not in our culture to express such tardiness, so I pray you show mercy unto me for this occasion."

The Secretary-General let-out a short, elderly-voiced laugh. He himself took a seat.

"Would you gentlemen care for some tea?"

Administration Building, Brukeville

The President furrowed his brow the more he read the email from the East.

Incorporating Brukean soldiers and intelligence officers into a larger force of a country of as-yet-unknown intentions? Preposterous!

There would be controversy either way, of course, but the Foreign Minister had told the House of Deputies that the Government was prepared to do whatever it took to bring those who had shed Brukean blood to justice.

Of course, the difference between previous situations and this one was that the United States and Ethiopia were close allies, while the Pan-Asiatic States was... not.

Stressing that this was a counter-terrorism operation would be key for the support of MPs and the public alike- and beyond the Nationalists, who were extremely skeptical at best, the rest of Parliament was generally on-board- reluctantly among their own party, and somewhat less reluctantly among the Social Democrats and Progressives. The Comrade from Commodore was all for this, of course.

Abera scoffed as he thought of how readily she accepted the idea of some sort of joint operation as he typed up his response before sending it off.

CC: Tamru Negasi, Prime Minister of the Royal Republic of Bruke; Nebiyou Gizaw, Minister of Security; General Zemichael Demeke, Chairman of the General Staff of the Royal Brukean Armed Forces; Retta Mirtus, Director of the Royal and National Intelligence Service; Masresha Natnael, Chief of the Federal Police
Subject: Proposed Operations Abroad

Brukean operations abroad, of this kind, are governed by existing legislation- the Act on Foreign Internal Defense. The Act clearly specifies that military forces, or security forces (which in the case, would include intelligence agents) are to be incorporated only into the forces of West American Treaty Organization member states or North Atlantic Treaty Organization member states.

Given the relatively recent tensions between our countries, Parliament -or rather, the relevant committees of the House of Deputies- would not look kindly on the operation as-proposed. However, we do have a counter-proposal.

The proposal is as follows:

The Royal Expeditionary Corps, or X-Corps for short, would send the 1st Special Forces Brigade, one of several Abyssinian Brigades in X-Corps- so-called because of their operations in Ethiopia and subsequent experience with jungle, mountain, desert, and riverine warfare.

The 1st Special Forces Brigade is composed four battalions, along with their integrated command and supporting units.

If there is a need -and I stress, a need- for other Abyssinian Brigades, we are willing to send the 2nd Special Forces Brigade as well.

In either case, said brigade(s) would form a Joint Task Force with the Special Police Force.

The Royal and National Intelligence Service would send agents from the Peregrine Division, which conducts overseas overseas operations of various kinds and has personnel which are fluent in a variety of languages.

Likely, the agents most useful here would be those that are fluent in Mandarin, though the Division also has agents which speak Tagalog, Russian, and Japanese.

The Peregrines would join the Joint Task Force mentioned above.

Our proposal can be elaborated upon further by the Secretary for Strategic Relations, who would lead such a delegation on our side.

If the proposal is acceptable to you, or if you would like further details, a meeting can be arranged at our embassy in Neo-Manila.

Sincerely,

Bereket Abera
President of the Royal Republic of Bruke

Straight expressions and sunglasses remained on the Miao's faces as they crossed the crowded halls, with security clearing the path like Moses in the red sea. The interior of the venue reflected its age, probably old enough to have been through the Second World War.

The suited men were introduced as representatives of the Ramadhan family, even though they were only members of a subsidiary family under it. It didn't matter though, the young male who introduced them wasn't exactly wrong. Their expressions changed with the Secretary-General's laugh. They smiled.

Apologies and offer for tea accepted, the lead representative looked at his own reflection on the cup he held, then shifted his gaze at the leader of the Pan-Asian States. "Before we begin, allow me to ask this: do you speak Chinese?"

The Secretary-General eyed them curiously. There was a certain mystery to them as they spoke. The Secretary-General seemed rather in awe with their complexion, a complexion which seemed unnaturally flawless.

He was quick to cover-up his staring look as not to communicate any disrespect, and he meant none.

"Ah, I believe my father-- or perhaps his father, once spoke Chinese. I know only a little, friends. I'm sure, as you've been held-up in this city for a few days already, you know that it many around here know a little or speak it much more fluently than I do. I confess, I am not those people."

The Secretary-General let the same young official in once more, serving the gentlemen some lukewarm Sri Lanka tea, peppermint-infused.

    RE: Re: Proposed Operations Abroad

    Honorable President,

It appears as though I may have expected too much of our conversations. I respect such a decision with great honor still for your side's counter-proposal. It is with this same great pride and honor that I graciously accept your offer to send these Peregrine Divisions.

I am therefore willing to concede to the creation of the Special Police Force, Task Force 1; which will function autonomous from the directions of the Ministry of State and Public Security. Other Task Forces, either under Pan-Asiatic control or foreign and otherwise may be constituted either anonymously or with our same agreements depending on circumstance. However, make no mistake that this Task Force, albeit under the name of the Special Police Force, will be granted total autonomy.

The Task Force will comprise of your 1st Special Forces Brigade, and any additional forces you may extend to this endeavor at your will, in the near future, if required. While I hope extra forces are not necessary as much as your own people do, I believe we must be open to the possibilities and circumstances presented to us.

The language-barrier will not be a problem, I hope, as we intend to grant your Task Force with translators and integrated Babaylan personnel from our own army to yours (during the timebeing of the existence of Task Force 1). The Babaylan, technological experts, may also bridge any military-technological gaps or any other schisms between our gendarme, if any.

The Ministry of Defense is also cooperating with the Ministry of State and Public Security at this hour, integrated into their talks of sharing military-grade ammunition and supply caches with the Special Police Force, the permittance of the Brukean troops aforementioned to train alongside Pan-Asiatic ones in capital facilities. We hope your people are also open to such an endeavor, as it would not be ideal for our two centers of command to charge into engagements without prior practice.

We will continue to share our facets of information with your advisers, that you have sent here, and it would be courteous of you to do so as well in the coming endeavor.

We are open to the possibility of expanding these talks through utilizing the Brukean embassy in Neo-Manila, and would humbly accept any gracious delegation to our capital. However, it must be noted that the Brukean delegation may have to wait a few more days for the presence of the Secretary-General himself, as he is currently engaged in diplomatic talks with both the Amenrian government and the Sampornese government overseas. If urgency is of the matter, the Secretary-General may send a representative rather than himself, such as the undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zhan Yahui-Molotov Sr.

Once more, we humbly thank your consideration and efforts to preserve peace. It is in our best interests to safeguard Bruke's own honorable upholding of their own sovereign ideals above all else. We hope previous transmissions neither offended nor displeased.

Subject: Proposed Task Force

Thank you for your prompt reply, and the acceptance of our proposal.

We will go ahead and send our delegation to our embassy in Neo-Manila, awaiting the Secretary-General’s return. They will not be idle though- they will be coordinating with RNIS and the Armed Forces in regards to logistical and other needs of each organization’s personnel. A portion of the delegation will include one senior military officer and one senior intelligence officer, to serve as military and intelligence attachés at our embassy going forward.

For ease of in-person communication in the future, we would strongly encourage you to apply to open an embassy in our country- given the present circumstances, I will work with the Prime Minister to fast-track the application and ensure it gets approved.

Task Force 1 will most likely be headed by a senior RNIS agent, who will serve as the overall liaison between itself and the Ministry of State and Public Security. Given that the task of RNIS encompasses civilian and military intelligence, we believe a senior agent from the intelligence service is best suited to bridge the internal gap between it and the Armed Forces.

As for extra forces beyond the 1st and 2nd Special Forces Brigades, reinforcements will take time to arrive as there are still a significant number of SF personnel in Diyaristan. While a withdrawal has been and is ongoing following the completion of major objectives, completing the process could take anywhere from two to four months.

With all that being said, we are fully supportive of joint training in any facilities that you would deem fit for that purpose and look forward to future cooperation during the length of this operation.

Sincerely,

Bereket Abera

Camp Cao Kun
Harbin Outskirts
Chinese Confederation
Federated People's Republic of Pan-Asiatic States

Carefully-selected recruits of the Pan-Asiatic States Armed Forces were already busy with the training operations. Along with the Brukean 'Task Force 1', four other Brigade-sized task forces had already been instituted by the Army for use in the Special Police Force. Those hand-picked for the operation were not conscripts, but hardened lieutenants of the army at lowest rank. Most were select participants of the Pan-Asiatic interventions in Israel a year before.

The commanders of the task forces were Datu-ranked veterans as well. They had been borrowed from the Special Forces Regiment of the Army, and were highly-trained as well. Two of them, Shao Bai and Hou Fu, were experts in jungle reconnaissance. For years, Datu Shao, now of Task Force 2, and Datu Hou, now of Task Force 3, were among the few who ardently sought out encampments by the Neo-Kuomintang, which were often scattered throughout the continent. Slim olive-wearing and beard-wielding senile men who often dominated the practices. Their loud bombastic voices often made obedience, even by fellow officers of the same rank, never least of imperative.

The other two Datu were younger but more carefree and energetic commanders. Pom Eun-Song, assigned to Task Force 4, was a junior graduate of a military university in Pyongyang, and this was her first opportunity serving as a Datu; as she'd only earned a promotion after taking charge of border tensions between HAMAS and the Palestinian government a few months prior. The other, Otake Shigeki of Task Force 5, had a well-known and well-respected father from the Admiralty. Shigeki replaced an older commander who had taken a bullet to the neck fighting the Neo-Kuomintang in Manchuria seven years ago, and has been serving as a Datu ever since.

Image

Tonight, Task Force 4 and Task Force 2 conducted a mock 'night raid' along a section of the Songhua River. The operation consisted of establishing battle supremacy along a wide bridge by flanking enemy forces through military rafts. Task Force 3 acted as the 'terrorist force'. The forces used rubber pellets to act as mock gunfire.

Within the first hour of the session, Task Force 4 had already taken heavy 'casualties'. While Task Force 2 stormed the bridge by creating a mock frontal assault, Task Force 4 mounted an actual strike in large numbers from below the bridge.

Spotters of the 'enemy' force had a hard time determining the whole attacking force's real size. The darkness shrouded the landing, as Datu Shao had anticipated it would, but Datu Hou acted on instinct and 'slaughtered' the under-bridge assault force.

In the end, 4 and 2 were outwitted by cunning defenses set-up by Datu Hou's Task Force 3. Hou had used defense-in-depth tactics designed to lure attackers into a much larger trap due West, where the remainder of the attacking force were eliminated by an important road junction. When the rain began to pour, rifles of the attackers jammed, and the soldiers were left to be picked-off by machine-guns in the mud.

Post-battle, the Datu of the Task Forces were in dire need of new minds. Their combined contingent would be facing similar situations if the Neo-Kuomintang or any other operating enemy decided to stage another March 25. City defenses were bare, and another attack could be imminent. Explosives were highly discouraged to reduce collateral damage. The final assessment concluded that either better weapons and technology or better tactics needed employment.

The Force had already been given word of the MSPS' latest reconnaissance reports, which indicated a lot of underground chatter about stockpiling more weapons in a Blacksite somewhere in Muang Xai, in the Laos region of Indochina. They were soon to be tasked with investigating these claims.

The offer has been made. On behalf of the Heavenly Emperor, the emissaries offered to send soldiers from the Imperial Ground Force's law enforcement divisions or commandos. All they asked in return was altruism. Kindness. Benevolence. The Imperial Government wants to spread Islam and give hope and comfort to the scared and lost souls of the Pan-Asian States, maybe even make it influential among the populace. Fighting the pawns of the western powers would only cure the symptoms, not the disease. It was clear the Amenrians only wanted peace and prosperity from their Asian brothers from this world.

A single crane came from the sky, slowly and carefully landing in the freezing cold area. Four commandos came out, shield in one hand, shotgun in the other. They were followed by two of their comrades, these ones wielding laser rifles and no shields. The last one to emerge from the transport was a familiar face to the Pan-Asian military. She had a black, tight, catsuit, padded here and there for extra protection. She was slim and tall, with long, black, princess-cut hair. Her makeup adorned her already beautiful face, and her sharp gaze was both intimidating and attractive. She bowed to whoever was in charge at the time. "My apologies for our lateness. We got held back by something. My name is Yoo Junghwa, and me and my men here were sent to deal with your security problem."

After the riots, the Anglos in Dilli had been laying low. They'd managed to keep brief contact with the fatherland - a simple, congratulatory 'well done' was received. However, their work was not over. There was more trouble to be stirred. Whilst the rioting had successfully instigated a momentum for change far greater than they could have imagined, especially with the introduction of this new terrorist group into the mix, the team knew that there was still more boundaries to be pushed. They had heard rumours, promising rumours - the Head of Government was scheduled to be visiting Melanesia. Presently, they sat around a clandestine little table, a small, flickering, harsh-white light casting ghastly shadows on the walls behind them. The head of the table, a tanned, muscular, aryan specimen, nodded in solemn confirmation.

"It is settled then. One last push before we go. Pax angloris te death dö us sjeylk."

And with that, the fate of the visiting politician was grimly sealed.

Hunter Ungvarj paced back and forth in front of the large window, overlooking the red-sanded grassy steppe. He read over the mission briefing once more, and then again. Shaking his head, he resolved he was right - things were moving too slowly in the PAS. The crack-team in Melanesia had certainly done a good job, but it was time to keep moving. Suddenly, a beeping on the bulky machine in the corner caught his attention. His trance-like state broken, he blinked a couple of times. Walking slowly over there, he saw the coded designation for an encrypted pager message appear on the tiny blue-lit screen. He quickly scanned his thumbprint. A series of glyphs decoded into Runic Anglisch. He followed the text with his finger as it scrolled across the screen.

HEAD OF GOV. VISITING SOON. WILL REMOVE. FURTHER ORDERS?

He smiled briefly. At least the YKB still produced agents with initiative. Hesitating a moment, he began to type.

P-O-I 'UNCLE BO' LOCATED IN INDOCHINA. LOCATE AND CONTACT. ESTABLISH REPERTOIRE, INQUIRE GOALS; CONTRAST WITH MARU.
SPLIT TEAM - MARU RIVALS STILL NEED TO BE REMOVED.

His finger hovered briefly over the SEND button, before tapping down. It was done.

Leaning back slightly, he felt relief. Things were back on track. However, there was still one loose end unaccounted for. Reaching for the phone, he pondered how he'd start the call. After a couple of rings, the other end of the line picked up.

"Pax Anglo, comrade. This is Minister Ungvarj. I'm going to need a favour... What files do we have on Neo-Kuomintang?"

Dili, Melanesia

Kumi-Kispe Maru had been capitalizing on the events of March 25. While the rallies themselves had ceased, as expected, public outcry for the brutality spiked. In light of the creation of the Special Police Force, it became evident to the Melanesian people that their cries for more political autonomy were only going to become more and more suppressed.

Maru walked the streets a public hero. The gendarme snickered, but the common voter stared him in the eye with a gleam of hope. Under the scorching luminescence of the hot April days, the bloodstained standard of these Timorese islands continued to glimmer, and whispers of new revolutions were carried out in beer cellars, abandoned buildings, and shabby residences.

What had most definitely become evident was Maru's unprecedented rise to the top. While he had already been cleared of all suspicion of involvement with the violence hitherto, rumors spread about that he had actually arranged for all the high-powered weaponry, elevating his status to some from a reformer to an abolitionist.

As weeks passed, small-scale politically-motivated crimes hearkened, but were nothing of particular alarm. Seemingly disorganized, such actions included two 'pro-centralism' Assembly candidates having their cars wired to explode. Neither were hurt, as both bombs failed to go off. A mob of university students drove some regional candidates out of debate halls in some areas of East Timor. But again, still no evidence of major intervention by the Neo-Kuomintang.

Altogether, the government in Melanesia was still in ruin, however; many key officials continued to lay afraid for their lives. Especially those who had worked close in contact with Federal officials. Again, by word of mouth, many rumors had circulated that the Neo-Kuomintang came after corrupt officials and 'Federal cronies'. Partly, this had some evidence to it in the past, but in truth, no such campaign was being carried out as of the moment. At least, not a continuous one, and not an intentful one. A raid on a munitions cache near one of the islands of Nusantara made headlines when a district secretary went missing. Incidental, at best.

The primary source for the original perpetrators was a hunt that had set and never yet concluded with. The Neo-Kuomintang, divided into regional sects, were hardened and loyal devotees to their 'nationalistic' cause, and their fervor made interrogations vague.

To 'restore order', the Head of Government, Fernando Lawrencio III, was to represent the Federal government through a Federal-to-State visit. But Fernando had proven to be a shrewd leader, and an even worse diplomat. Many did not favor his rudeness and atheism. Progressives hated his backward economic agendas, which collectivized regional agricultural lands in favor of control by capital administrators. Rubber-stamp offices had been set up to consolidate Fernando's power; as he had essentially made himself a directly intervening Minister in almost every major government agency. While he was the Prime Minister in definition, he had a tendency to requisition state resources to fuel his own macroeconomic agenda. A bold move, which others had tried, but his plans were simply ineffective as a whole.

In short, he was the very enemy of the anti-centralists in Melanesia. His visitation, many thought, would only bring more chains than cakes.

Ho Chi Minh City, Indochina

Uncle Bo's return to his home-state was welcomed with applause some weeks earlier, despite his rally's failure to stop Federal authorities from enacting heavier tarrifications on interstate trade. Such taxes were to fuel the Secretary-General's expansive fiscal policy, they had been told, but it came at the price of effectively squeezing developing states to a pulp. The meritocratic taxation was replaced by an iron-fist economic dictatorship by capital authorities, among other issues, which Bo's political contingent had tried to prevent.

On Bo's part, it was a sort of political stunt to garner more support, and needless to say, while only slightly effective, the change in popularity of his rivals made the whole affair obsolete, and he had wasted a lot of election money on that trip. He needed a sponsor.

Muang Xai, Indochina

Away from skyscrapers and referendums, away from petty politics and ineffective reforms, guerrilla troops trained night and day to continue their assaults on the Pan-Asiatic nation. The conceptualization of a Pan-Asiatic nation, to the rebels, was a treacherous action effected by 'imperialists' of the old People's Republic of the Philippines in the 90s. And to them, the collapse of the whole Federal structure was imminent. The more wealth the Federation produced, the more the states quarreled about who gets what.

Here, in the dense and thick forestry, was a munitions blacksite. Not the primary base of operations in Indochina, and the camp harbored but a small contingent of warriors. During the March 25 uprising, they had broadcasted their cryptic messages from this area. It was standard for them. But it was a very old trick, and the Pan-Asiatic States' decryption methods were getting better and better at tracing it.

For a nation more technologically literate than the Pan-Asiatic States, however, it'd be easy to track down the signal. Bribes, amidst the political chaos, could be easily carried-out too.

Dili, Melanesia

Throughout the bustling crowds, the young man jostled and pushed his way between bodies large and small. The faint odour of sweat, the sea, and clamouring marketplaces tainted his nostrils, somewhat pleasantly albeit, but it was still a taint. An Asian taint. His eyes swept through the mass as he continued elbowing and slipping into gaps. Nothing yet. He had heard word that Maru frequented these parts. Kumi-Kispe was certainly viewed favourably here. Thus, as he reached the inner suburbs of the coastal city, he decided to stop his fruitless wandering and ask around directly. A short, portly woman, her eyes hardened from years of sea salt and hard labour wandered by. The man reached out and grabbed her by the arm, startling her. Crap. She was already alarmed by his skin tone, and no doubt that sudden act of seeming aggression put her on edge even more.

"Salutations... Where... can I find... Kumi-Kispe Maru?"
His mind worked frantically, but to his detriment, resulting in a rather broken local dialect. The woman, shocked, eyed him up and down, snorted, and walked on her way. Shaking his head, he realised he wasn't exactly subtle. Thinking on what he could do next, he decided to head to where every Anglischman could find his element - a pub.

Gradsgov, Caucasia
Oberkönigreich of Anglomir

Angelsalsache Incorporated, better known as the Central Bank of Anglomir, had been around a long time. Walking down the hallowed halls of its largest office, Finance Director Rorik Hermschall admired the shiny plaques adorning the walls. The bank had operated since the Industrial Revolution, and thus had been witness to the rise and fall of Republicanism, the advent of the National Party, and the subsequent reinstitution of the Anglisch Empire. Rorik smiled. His shiny steel clasps on his briefcase clicked. He was a powerful man, and he knew it. He deserved this position - hard work and sacrifice was all it took. Of course, it did certainly help that he was of ginger complexion, least to mention that his father had been a higher up in the East Anglo Company. The bank had been heavily involved and partnered with the successful EAC over its 250 years of finance. He came to a halt in front of the heavy-set oaken door emblazoned with his name and position. With a satisfying, cool push, it opened seamlessly - well oiled by the recently subjugated racially inferior janitors. A favourite of the Royal Family since the beginning of the 19th century, the institution had facilitated many of the personal endeavours of various Kings and Queens over the years, especially loaning to trading and exploration companies to find and claim land or gold for the Royals. The Director was about to be faced with a request that was no different.

Brriiiiiing, brrriiiiiiiiing.

The metallic shriek of the telephone rang out through the comfortable office space. Sitting down, Rorik cleared his throat and answered the call.
"Rorik Hermschall, Angelsache Incorporated, how may I help you?" He was usually above such low-level customer interactions, but if a call was redirected to his office, then it was always important - and manners made men in the world of Anglisch banking. A cold, smooth voice drained the colour from his face on the other end of the line.

"Hello Rorik. I'd like to call in a favour."

"Y-your Imperial Highness! My deepest apologies, I did not realise such a gracious and divine voice would bless my office today!"

Oberkönigführer Austen Arcaeus Tylvik Agnor I smiled on the other end of the line. Matters of state security were usually only rubber stamped by himself for approval; he left such things mainly to Prime Minister - Oberkönigpräsident, he corrected himself - Oswald Eindride. However, as the CEO of the monopoly-holding EAC, anything concerning kronigs, wealth, or the economy fell under his jurisdiction.

"I'll be needing a large sum transferred to a young chap in the Pan-Asiatic States by the end of the week, Rorik."

The Director's face paled further. It had been many a year since he'd actually had to perform. He was a figurehead! The playboy! A daddy's boy...
"Ah, right. I see, Your Majesty. Well, obviously we've just finished the fiscal year, and are qu-"

"Make it happen, Hermschall. Or I'll find someone else who will."

Rorik didn't even have time to finish formulating the question in his head before the King answered it for him.

"Yes, that means your much more capable brother. I don't care what Old Man Hermschall stated in his will, however close we may have been. The man in question is colloquially referred to as 'Uncle Bo'. State Security will be sending you the details in just a minute."

He paused.

"And while youre at it with the international finance, get some more kronigs to our boys down in Melanesia." He once again had the foresight to interject. "Yes, that will be coming through in the data-package too." The King paused expectantly.

Rorik quickly stammered something, anything. "Of course Your Majesty. It will be done."

"Indeed", said the regal voice, and promptly hung up. As if on cue, Hermschall's fax machine whirred, and began a staccato printing of the message from the boys in black. He grabbed the paper and scanned the receipt as it was still being expelled from the machine. Encryption Code Omega Black, Secure Transfer Level A1, Laundering Policy on Oberkönigführer's Authoritative Strategic Underhand Transactions Model...

He sighed. It was going to be a long day.

Head of Government Fernando Lawrencio III Visits Melanesia To Re-Organize Local Government
Nguoi Viet Daily News
April 29, 2019

DILI, USM—At around 6:55 PM today, representatives of the Federal government safely landed on the tarmac of Nicolau Lobato International Airport. Following the tragic events of March 25, the Head of Government, Fernando Lawrencio III, who had announced his official visitation to the Southern state a week prior, has led the descent of his co-administrators to temporarily oversee the re-construction and reparation of several sites demolished by the bombings.

However, when interviewed on his flight a few hours before landing, Head of Government Fernando also expressed his desire to "double-check the loyalty of the government officials of Melanesia".

With many believing the job to be one with an intrinsic causation or mishap that must be addressed, the Head of Government also wishes to survey the events and concur with the ongoing investigations to asses how to better secure the systematic infallibility of Pan-Asiatic governance in the region.

The Head of Government will also be attending a gala with leading Congressional aspirants in the nation, on May 4, Saturday. He intends to stay for around 2 weeks to accomplish his objectives.

The cabinet of the Sixth Administration has stated its full support for Fernando's actions, and expect the state's political operations to be normalized within the next month.

Anglomirian Provisional HQ

Several knocks on the warehouse door boomed throughout the base. Outside was nothing but the wind and a USB stick lying on the ground. No marking, no fingerprints could be spotted on the drive. It had been doused with Ammonia.

Someone knew where the agents were and when they were there: there was a loose end to be had.

A voice recording on the USB reveals that a young man with a Mainland Chinese accent, introducing himself as "The Renegade", wants to be in charge of interfering with what needs to be interfered with on the Pan-Asiatic side to ensure the Anglisch operate safely. He had a thick but high-pitched accent, like that of a senile turtle pleading to be released from its aquarium.

It is unclear how he had been made known of their presence, as unclear as his identity. Perhaps he was a threat. Perhaps he was a scout by the Neo-Kuomintang. Perhaps he was a spy by the Pan-Asiatic Government. Or maybe, simply, a desperate man in what he saw to be a despotic country.

He felt inspired by Anglomir "National Socialism". He did have a certain diaspora when talking about Anglomir, but this could easily be a trick as well.

The Renegade's loyalty, making it clear, was where his wallet was, and he demanded a promise by the Anglisch authorities. He claimed to have connections with the Pan-Asiatic government, having worked there before (the position being unclear as well); enough to send the men on the ground anywhere, anytime. In return, he asked for a message to be relayed to whoever the men reported to.

"--..Oh and Anglisch. I want request, in exchange, safety. When this is all over, I want safe passage out of Asia. I want full citizenship in Anglomir. I want 9,000 kronigs.

Understood?

You have a week to discuss this with your superiors. If you agree with my terms, send me proof. 1,000 cold hard kronigs at the coordinates attached to this USB. Come unarmed, or I will not cooperate. And if I do not cooperate, your mission is compromised.

Agree with these terms and I can also facilitate weapons transport much more conveniently. I can handle the edition of manifests throughout ports in Timor-Leste. The only thing you'll have to do is disguise one of your transport vessels as of GDR-origin, and bazinga, yuo are good.

We will discuss this more when you agree. You have no choice, Anglisch. I want now. I want out.

God with you."

A Bar in Dili

The agent waltzed into the pub like any citizen did on a warm summer, Melanesian day. Bamboo ornamentation gave the place a very fitting tropical feel. The afternoon wasn't filled with much excitement, but evidently, the night before definitely was.

On the tables, the floors, the walls; was spilled Qingdao-exported beer, along with traces of gasoline-smelling vodka. The stains produced a sort of saliva-regurgitating stench. The pub was nearly empty, after all, few were drinking at such an hour. Some middle-aged soldiers were enjoying tequila by the veranda, and a few office-workers were on their laptops with cups of coffee or tea.

Fliers of another campaign-speech were posted on the exterior of the pub, as well as on a dashboard behind the tan-skinned, slant-eyed, teenage bartender. Maru had definitely been here, together with the 'Autonomous Melanesia Association', a committee of a few student agitators and even three fellow Congressional aspirants. Associations functioned like unofficial parties. Essentially, coalitions.

The bartender stared at him blankly, handing him a menu.

Ho Chi Minh City

"Tai, load the page again.", demanded Bo. His associate, Tang Tai, followed. The website of the People's Bank of Asia was reloaded. The screen turned white, and when the text printed, for the tenth time, that Bo was a rich man, they both knew this was either a glitch or a daring bribery.

"That's a lot of money. Enough so you never work again.", exclaimed Tai; who lay on his velvet couch beside Bo. The aspirant's apartment was not much, but it was standard for everyone.

"Look, Tai, you mustn't tell anyone about thi--"

"Bo. We've been together since we were kids. I would never."

Lots of questions were to be had. And if Bo's hunch was right, this either means a secure seat in Congress, or his execution.

Camp Cao Kun

Task Force 1, which was hard at work training, looked forward to the missions ahead, even if its members were somewhat apprehensive about their new partners- for the men and women of the 1st, like the other Special Forces Brigades and the Royal Expeditionary Corps as a whole, had made their names killing Communists (and others).

The most junior among them had served during operations in the jungles of Gambella against the Ethiopian Unity Patriots Front, which was founded by Derg officials of Nuer descent and harbored guilty men.

The slightly more junior of them had served during the later decolonization conflicts- the Second War of the West, a brutal, bloody, and sectarian five-way civil war in the shattered remains of Western Section; the Outer Region Secession Crisis, when would-be revolutionaries sought to establish a people’s republic with the help of escaped fighters from Western Section; the Roseland War, when suspected arms dealers and soldiers from the former Soviet Union gave another set of would-be revolutionaries the means to secede from the secessionist Outer Region.

The more senior of them had been part of the Brukean intervention into the Ethiopian Civil War on the side of the Ethiopian Democratic Union, which wanted to revive the monarchy but within a constitutional system, and the Afar Liberation Front, which was founded by an ally of the Imperial regime, the last Sultan of Aussa.

Brigadier General Gulema Tegene, the commander of Task Force 1, had served with the 2nd Special Forces Brigade as an operator in the 3rd Paracommando Battalion, taking part in airhead operations to secure airports near Gondar -where the bulk of Brukean forces would later be based- and Debre Tabor, the jumping off point for operations deeper into enemy territory.

In 1978, as the TPLF and the EPRP collaborated with the Derg to drive the EDU out of their stronghold of Begemder Province, Brukean forces covered the EDU’s retreat into the safety of the Semien Mountains and stayed with them until the civil war’s conclusion. The men of the 3rd Battalion raided enemy armories to keep themselves supplied, periodically carrying out targeted killings of Derg officials.

Kidane Brehanu, RNIS senior officer and overall head of Task Force 1, had served in the Peregrine Division and was well known for successfully carrying out one of the most effective operations in RNIS and REC history: Operation Remiel.

From 1984 to 1986, the Mengistu regime incompetently resettled millions of people, moving them from north to south. One of the largest settlement areas was the Pawe woreda, home to 100,000 people by 1986. The people of Pawe were under constant attack from the EPRP and suffered from hunger and disease, mostly malaria.

Brehanu had already proven himself by serving as a liaison between the Sultan of Aussa and the High Commissioner of the Territory of the Afars and the Issas -a French official governing what is now Djibouti- and arranging for the 13th Demi-Brigade of the Foreign Legion, stationed at Camp Lemonnier, to train and arm the ALF.

He called upon the Foreign Legion again for the first phase of the operation, as they established an airhead at a village located near the Semien Mountains, delivering firearms, ammunition, and inflatable rafts to the 2nd Brigade, which had been designated as a stay-behind force to carry out further operations in case of retreat.

The second phase of the operation required infiltrating the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, the government’s resettlement agency. Working with the RNIS station chief, who had moved from Addis Ababa to Djibouti City, Brehanu posed as an official from the Ministry of Agriculture to access files detailing the layout of the area.

With information in hand, the 2nd Brigade rafted down the Beles River to the town of Ketema, one of three in Pawe. They had three objectives: sabotage trucks being used to kidnap people and bring them to the area, protect communities from the EPRP, and guard large shipments of food aid and Resochin, which was to be purchased by the Brukean government but delivered by the French so as not to be turned away by the regime.

The 2nd Brigade successfully carried out its objectives, conducting raids posing as EPRP to damage the trucks, raiding and destroying EPRP camps, and ensuring that aid was not misused or stolen. Brehanu had contributed to saving thousands of lives, and the records he found were later used to identify and prosecute regime officials.

Tegene and Brehanu had made a good team once, and together they would ensure Task Force 1 would succeed in its mission.

With Brukean troops in the Force, clandestine from public knowledge, foreign minds began collaborating with the Special Police Force to plan counterattacks on the Neo-Kuomintang. The next few days were consumed by hard training and coordination between both armies. Two very different approaches to counter-terrorism were brought into the light, and both factions had their own niches; which, when both sides were friendly enough to concede to the greater objectives at hand, were extremely successful on the field.

The Pan-Asiatic doctrine on counter-terrorism shocked the Brukean camp. Pan-Asiatic army commanders always preferred intimidation over stealth, whereas the Brukean brigades could operate under the worst of conditions and come-out victors in their own right. However, the Force was informed on the third day after the beginning of joint training, that much-awaited heavy equipment would arrive shortly. Twenty-foot Autonomous Sentinels, towering mechanical monstrosities, were going to be involved with the raid on Muang Xai. 30 models and 30 pilots were borrowed from various sections of the army. TQ-35 Infantry-Class "Cilapulapu" Sentinels were the pride of the Federation, and they were magnificent today as they ever were. These were to be exclusively piloted by the Asian contingent only. The technology was too advanced for the foreign operators, and besides, Father Asia was not going to willingly give-up the information on its pilotry willingly, in fear of such information being used against him.

The TQ-35s were equipped with night vision and thermal sensors integrated into their factspheres, which meant they could scout the positions of the enemy from a long distance, as well as fire from a long distance. They would surround the encampment, and ensure the total annihilation of the Neo-Kuomintang.

The final piece in the enigma was media involvement. A primer was sent to the major commanders of the operation, foreign and indigenous, for review. The strategy of the operation included media coverage of the entire event.

The Sixth Administration wanted to use every labor voucher available to them in order to completely annihilate this small blacksite. It was going to be a message: this was the last straw. The terrorists would not be expecting them, as the location was supposedly a very clandestine one, and the destruction of this camp was a statement to whoever was behind the March 25 attacks that there would be no negotiations with terrorists, and that if the MSPS could track this down, the perpetrators would be caught soon as well.

Following the deposit ion the mysterious USB, a series of intense discussions had taken place both within the circle of field agents and their superiors. There were those who saw the Renegade as a golden opportunity, and those who saw him as an almost certain threat or spy. It was also no secret that the mans ethnicity was certainly... suboptimal for his citizenship request. However, there were those who argued that recruitment of non-caucasian individuals to the High Council, or at least, Level 1 Citizens, was certainly beneficial for global public image, and likely to inspire non-whites to actually desire their place in the racial hierarchy. The sum of money he demanded was inconsequential; military and secret service budgeters always accounted for situations such as these. It was finally decided - the Renegade would be granted his requests. They began the works on the GDR remodelling of their transport vehicles, and dispatched a group of agents, unarmed, but with weapons in the truck and cameras live-streaming to HQ, to the co-ordinates. They carried with them a briefcase of 1000 kronigs, as promised.

The impending arrival of the Head of Government had not gone unnoticed either. As agreed upon, the man was to die - preferably framed in a light casting the blame on revolutionary Asiatic citizens. Several options had been planned; an old fashioned sniping, poison, even kidnapping and recording the man's forced confession of crimes against Asia before beheading him. The day was right around the corner, and the agents had been briefed on all possibilities. Each plan had been given a coded designation, and was known by all operating infiltrators. The idea was that, depending on which circumstance best presented itself on the day, the men could adapt their mode of operation to suit the situation. If an infiltrator saw an opportune moment to kidnap the man, he would quietly let the others know over encrypted channels; however, if the sniper was in perfect position to make the shot, this course of action could be taken instead. A final meeting confirmed the details in the Anglisch Provisional HQ (which had been searched extensively for bugs following the concerning knowledge of whereabouts by the Renegade). With a nod, the agents retired to bed, and prepared for the next day.

The Field Communications Director, however, was not about to sleep so easy. He had been, in light of vague and concerning reports that the PAS and co-conspirators were planning to crush the terrorist insurgency, ordered to track the signal from which they had broadcasted on the 25th. Whoever had set them up with the provisional HQ had really thought of everything; he was able to relay data and analysis of the broadcast to offshore intelligence in Anglomir itself, and work collaboratively to crack the case. It was imperative they make contact before it was too late - but perhaps that ship had already sailed. Fascist insurgents were certainly of use to subversive Anglisch activity, however, it would not be of detriment to the entire mission if that branch of opportunities closed prematurely. The two teams, the Field Director and Ministry of Security spent the rest of the night bouncing each attempt at cracking the terrorist data between themselves; time would tell if they would break the code and find the origin co-ordinates.

Embassy of Deathfall
Neo-Manila

Ambassador Archer Black is in his Office, he is being informed that the new Fundamental Law has passed the House of Representatives: a election was called and a minority government was formed with the Anarchic Freedom Party and the Democratic Rally. It was said that the Democratic Rally and the Reform Party could of formed a minority government, but the AFP refused to give them confidence and supply. Former Ambassador to the Letwinst States, Courtney Hall, was able to be elected to the new Senate and was given Minister of Foreign Affairs. The political climate was set with post-anarchic democracy for the foreseeable future. Under the previous Democratic-Reform Government, the Ambassador was instructed to maintain his Office's slience on the literal political nightmare that was ensuing in Asia. The new Government, lead by Sir Max Howard with Chancellor Johnathan Atwood, Jr. serving as a major advisor. He was Head of State and managed to avert the effects of war with the Imperium — this is from the Renegade Islands Alliance, they basically had a few nations dead set on world domination and Deathfall declared war to stop them and was brutally defeated — and is currently standing by in Vain Air Force Base in the State of Crizard. He's a Marshal of the Air Force in the Deathfallian Defense Force, and also Deputy Commander of the Deathfallian Freedom Force -- the militia that helped progress Deathfall into a striking post-anarchic democracy as it is today. Minister Hall and Ambassador Black have agreed to summon the Asian Ambassador to their embassy to shed some light on what Deathfall can do.

"We could also offer them Strike Group One, which has the DSS Intervention, a aircraft carrier, with electronic warfare aircraft that has DOMINIO installed. We could tap into Asian civilian and military sectors to find out what's going on." the Minister said to the Ambassador. They both know that if the Asians found out, Deathfall would be their next breakfast.
"How does the DOMINIO aircraft work?" the Ambassador questioned.
"It sends a broad range of frequencies that jam radar and other radio communications, and then transmits a virus to allow the Motherboard in the Intervention carrier to see everything they say over radio communications. We would also, potientally, have access to radar, missile silos with their launch codes, and God knows what else. We could possibly even remotely pilot their bombers if they have radio communications on them. However, once they leave at least 500 miles out from the carrier -- we can get nothing except cached communications." the Minister said. The Ambassador takes a position that the Defence Pact between Deathfall and the Pan-Asiatic States prohibit it.
"We can't. The Pact says we have to defend them if they we're attacked, and vise versa. If we betray them and they find out, it's either casus belli or casus foederis, and whichever one -- it doesn't matter. We have a stable nation for the first time in our history. We can't afford to lose that and a major ally in the process." the Ambassador said. Minister Courtney Hall will take it to the Prime Minister, but before doing so, will receive Atwood's counsel.
"Fine. We'll recieve their Ambassador and get a summary of what is going on, and if the ends justify the means, I'll offer them the Strike Group. Thank you, Miss Hall." the Ambassador ends the video call and awaits the Asian Ambassador.

The Breach
Muang Xai Blacksite
5/10/19

"Hornet's nest has been stirred. All task Forces: advance, advance, advance!"

Two Pan-Asiatic heavy fighters unloaded incendiary rounds upon the Blacksite grounds, a hit-and-run. The first shot of the battle, from a VV7 100mm Autocanon of a TQ-35 Infantry-Class "Cilapulapu" Sentinel found its way forward and towards a guard tower; killing the sentry manning it almost immediately. More gunshots can be heard from the woodlands. Five more Cilapulapu fire shots at the unsuspecting foe, returned with screams and rocket-fire. Anarchy and chaos consume the encampment. After weeks of preparation between international contingents, blood had finally been spilled on Muang Xai.

During the briefing, all Task Forces had been informed that the operation would take place in a sparsely populated area in Indochina. A sleepy town by the name of Muang Xai. The sleepy village was a designated forest reserve, but misplaced logging in the area soon earned contempt among the village's inhabitants; leading some to evacuate. But others, intelligence suggests, were contacted by the Neo-Kuomintang Revolutionary Army, and its isolation from civilization made it a hotspot for radical Indochinese neo-monarchists and racial supremacists to spread their misguided ideologies.

A small guerrilla in the area formed, and were eventually, clandestinely, integrated themselves into the Neo-Kuomintang; smuggling and 'obtaining' supplies from Federal patrols. As an explicitly terrorist organization, having conducted raids on local villages for the sake of collecting 'revolutionary tax', as well as being adamant about involvement with the hacking-attacks during the March 25 rebellion; the law ordered their immediate capitulation, by force, if necessary.

But these guerillamen had also fought for another, more controversial thing. The destruction of Pan-Asiatic States' human cloning facilities. The allure of radical individualists was what fueled sentiments of uprising from various corners of the Federation. This chapter in Muang Xai was no different. In the past 5 years alone, this particular group had been responsible for the bombing and destruction of three different facilities all over the Tri-Interregional Popular Republic of Indochina. Surely, many of the foreign legionnaires had their own takes on the issue of Pan-Asiatic States' eugenics initiatives. This was bound to be a problem, and so far as the military was concerned, a problem not taken into account, and thus, unaddressed. The few who saw this as a possible issue had their fingers crossed.

In the dense forestry of Muang Xai, the Neo-Kuomintang had built a stockpile for weapons and ammunition. Aerial reconnaissance confirmed these reports. Crates upon crates of illegally-seized and unregistered firearms were merely lying around in the open; hiding in plain sight. All this barbarism, the Asian commanders thought in chorus, would end today.

The vast, primitively-fortified complex was made mostly of wood and scrap metal; nonetheless, walled to the teeth. Glass bottles had been smashed, its edges lined thin concrete walls like barbed wire. Anti-Aircraft guns were also on the enemy's side, and civilians around the compound made Air Support restrictive as well as limited. It would also make dropping troops into the compound directly, practically suicide. By the time the Asian 'Humanoid Sentinels' had unloaded an entire clip of their Autocanons, the enemy had already been well dug-in to their various fortifications.

When a vanguard had finally been secured by the advancing echelon of TQ-35s, three VTOLs unloaded sets of Special Police Force infantrymen with their AM-64s. Task Force 2 and 4 advanced slowly towards the gates of the compound, through an semi-urban jungle of small huts. Civilians fled hastily, screaming in fear. A contingent of enemy snipers picked the SPF's troops off, others, by unlucky surprise-attacks from Neo-Kuomintang shotgun barrels, waiting behind the doors of their homes; but eventually, a squad of KN-3 LMG-equipped gendarme provided covering-fire against the Snipers, and the Sentinels, having made their way to a proper killzone, unleashed hell upon the foe, their enormous frames crushing cover, and their Autocanons raining hell on wheels. The enemy contemplated a choice between reinforcing this flank, or evacuating it. However, this frontal assault was a farce.

Task Force 3, hidden behind large bushes from a distant cliff, waited for the main force to get close enough, not wanting to give-away their position. Assisted by more Sentinels, they fired rocket-artillery and mortar upon the sniper-towers and fortifications. They had to be precise, a few grid-points off and they could hit either their own advancing units or a civilian hut.

The Amenrian TF5 and Brukean TF1 were advised to support the Asian attack by taking-on the compound from behind. However, the enemy anticipated this too. This area was littered with shrapnel mines and dug-in traps. One wrong step could either mean flying shrapnel to the balls, or your limb getting stuck into a hole filled with bamboo-spikes and animal feces.

Leading the advance of the foreign legions was Datu Hou of Task Force 3, with his own elite Rangers sprinting towards immediate danger. One loud, earth-shattering explosion gave away the presence of the traps, and the locations of the flanking forces. Before anybody knew it, fire was being rained down upon the backward flank, and Datu Hou himself was injured by a pistol round to the shoulder. He continued giving-out and carrying-out orders, escorted by a medic.

Thirty minutes of bloody warfare passed. When the vanguard was directly at the gates, when the assuage from the rear was clear for execution; a transmission was released to go full-out all at once. All units were to storm the compound and secure the weapons. Civilian casualties were to be minimized, but could not be avoided.

The charges were set. The detonator was at the ready. Pan-Asiatic Heavy Fighters returned to make another sweep, a smoke barrage this time.
