That being said, I am fine with the story going down this line, in fact I think it leads to some interesting/disturbing crossroads which I'm sure you'll handle well (*cough cough* killing children *cough cough*). Just wondering your reasoning; if it's just that the Kaiser wants a very personal revenge or for some other reason.

Its more to do with internal dynastic politics.

Kaiser Josef Franz is the grandson of (In my timeline) the German Empire’s greatest ruler since the First Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm I, and his father was on track to be another such great sovereign but then he died after ten months on the throne. He has two surviving uncles (Prince Rudolph exiled in Switzerland and Prince August Wilhelm the Grand Duke of Posen who is four years his junior) and one surviving aunt (Princess Maria Theresa who is a fashion mogul in Paris). Since his son Karl Friedrich is still only two years old, Prince August Wilhelm is his designated successor until Karl Friedrich is sixteen.

Prince Rudolph would love nothing more than to see his nephew weakened and seen as incapble to properly rule and represent a strong German monarchy. So not only is Flutwelle revenge for kidnapping and torturing Elizabeth but also it is the Kaiser’s way of sending a message that his grip on the throne remains secure and he is no weak willed wallflower who will allow such an insult to the Dynasty.

Based on the tense of your post I take it I can make mine with Operation Flutwelle already underway. Perhaps the Frenchies are cutting down most of the garrison while CSOG Zeppelin carves a bloody covert path inside the Estate hunting Nemetz family who are taking shelter inside. Executing all the staff mind you.

While this move is to secure the Kaiser’s position in the Dynasty against any moves by his uncle’s, it is still his vengeance. But is officially sanctioned by the Marschall der Abwehr as vengeance for his nephew who was one of the Abwehr agents attached to the Saxtonburg Embassy when the Civil War broke out. Convenient cover after all since it doesn’t do to have your sovereign labelled the slayer of innocents

I have been traveling during the holidays and planned to arrive home on Friday but, due to weather related flight delays and cancellations, only managed to return late last night. My post is coming today, and I will be much more active than I have been throughout December.
