Sounds fine, but to clarify, does that mean that your two mercenaries will be your country's only interference with the war (for now)? It's just that I can't remember what was happening between you and Saatland.

I'd prefer to only have the two mercenaries right now if that's possible. Since Gravines was captured, would it be okay to assume that they would now be in Roappe? Regarding the time of the rendezvous with the French officer and the foreigners in Gravines some months ago: Should we continue that conversation, and pretend that the T-6 landed in Roappe, or should we do a 'time skip' so that the pilots can already be an integrated force in the Free French forces?

Breaking News! Chancellor Kasel has announced another foreign intervention in the country of Laraosi. This move has been echoed with some praise, but many are decrying the move as another "Capilean Folly." The Chancellor is scheduled to give a speech on the matter in the next few days.

Joining an RP and co-writing the narrative isn't about what military contribution your nation can deliver or how many troops it can field, it's about making a compelling story that everyone can enjoy (at least, to me it is). The mercenaries are private contractors, and have not received official government support. Limburg isn't a particularly large country, and the only way that it could make its mark on the land of Nova Capile is through the heroism of individuals, not through the destructiveness of large armies.

True true. I'm really only saying that because I am supporting the French as well as more troops would help, but thats a good explanation

If you don’t mind my asking why are the numbers for your units all over the place? Are they being redeployed from a warzone?
Proud advocate that Europe stands stronger together than divided. The EU may be flawed in some areas but the idea of a united Europa can only bring good fortune to Europe and the world. For more than two thousand years, Europe was home to conflicts inspired by coveting one another's territory and resources, even making the continent the home to some of the world's most destructive and costly conflicts. But the idea was all wrong in their minds. Their idea was to bring this territory or that under their flag and spread influence on the continent. The idea they should all have been thinking was that the goal should be to bring the continent under one unified flag.

Well your Division Azul for instance is composed of 13,000 troops total but is listed as containing four Regiments. By standard military terms a Regiment is considered to range typically between 1,000-5,000 troops so four would give you a range of between 4,000 to 20,000 troops. Regiments are also typically composed of several battalions (Battalion’s can range in size from 300-800 troops). Unless those Division Azul battalion’s are independent separate from a Regiment. What I mean is that 13,000 is rather small for a Division, which typically range from 10,000-25,000 troops, and at such a strength then each of those component Regiments and detached Battalions would themselves be fairly small and unable to operate alone.

Also that the two Armies you have listed are below the typical strength of the average field army
by standard military definitions. On average a field army can range from 100,000-300,000 troops and is composed of several Corps, the average Corps ranging from 30,000-50,000 troops.

Your Shock Army is 25,000 troops which by most standards is the strength of one full Division and a quarter the size of the smallest classification of Field Army. Your First Solisian Army is 71,000 so a bit closer to the lower average but 71,000 troops would be about a full Corps worth of troops with an additional Division tacked on.

What I’m getting at is why have troops at lower strength and commitment? At full strength you could’ve marshalled a much larger force for deployment. Just by what you have with the six divisions split between your two Armies plus the Division Azul, thats seven Divisions which at average full strength could marshal 175,000 troops. By definition, two typical field armies would mean bringing in between 200,000-600,000 troops.

By comparison i have deployed the following in Capile:
Imperial German Theater Command Capile-1.8 million troops
1. 2 Heeresgruppe (Army Groups) composed of 3 Field Armies each-900,000 troops per Heeresgruppe
2. 6 Armee (Field Army)-300,000 troops per Armee
3. Each Armee is divided further into 6 Korps (Corps) for a total of 36 Korps overall-50,000 troops per Korps
4. Each Korps is divided into 2 Divisions (12 Divisions per Armee) for a total of 72 Divisions overall-25,000 troops per Division
5. Each Division is then split between 5 Regiments (60 Regiments per Armee) for a total of 360 Regiments overall-5,000 troops per Regiment

You're actually right about that. The forces of Solisia have smaller units, with lesser manpower, compared to military standards in the real world. I was using random number generators to make the numbers for each of the units, and I also thought of going with smaller and lesser numbers compared to the standard because I thought I would be playing it badly if I used really big numbers or stuck too rigidly to the standard military organizational guidelines.

So, I'm glad you pointed that out. It's an issue that I sometimes don't always get to address properly, and it's also something I tend to forget towards how to solve it. I apologize for that. If the OP is okay with it, however, I'm willing to make some changes to the units and to the numbers used for the units I have posted for the rp and for my nation.

So, uh Capile, would you be okay with relocating my mercenaries to Roappe? Would you be in favour of abandoning the conversation that one of your characters had with one of mine some time ago, or do you think that it would be better to just continue where we left off and pretend that the pilots arrived recently?

I think it'd be okay to just timeskip, say that the pilots were accepted into the ranks of the French army and won the grudging respect of their new comrades at the Battle of Gravines, and now they're quartered with the French army under new Bavarian administration.

Or however you want to do it, that's just an example.

This seems very interesting since I think both our nations are similar in some aspects, but too much has probably happened for me to come in out of nowhere. Plus canonically, the military cannot support the types of numbers some of these guys have. Oh well, sorry for taking up space lol.

I found your post very intriguing. I’m hoping we can make a little miniature arc out of the ‘less than legal’ activities the Abwehr are conducting on Capilean soil. Perhaps rumors begin to circulate of the secret black book detention facility/torture station. Some Royalists officers, fueled by ideology are content to let the enemy be poked and prodded for information. Others are more ill at ease about the affair and ensure the rumors continue to circulate.

Perhaps in the next Ludislau post, a Royalist marine, not an officer but an average soldier, sees a group of Abwehr officers with some of their prisoners being hauled away. Basically seeing what you aren’t supposed to see.

Made a minor change to the ORBAT, adding Karevka's forces, and also added Welfresio to the roster. I don't think the map or timeline need updates, so I think that's it for today.

Also, forgot to say yesterday that I hope all of you Americans had a lovely Thanksgiving.

Yeah, that was definitely my intention, to create another plot thread about the under-the-table German operations in Capile. Not to overplay my hand, but I definitely plan to create some tension between the Royalist and German armies/governments; perhaps some farsighted officers begin to notice that, even should the Duchy emerge triumphant from the war, it will be tethered to Germany irrevocably.

And I will surely use your suggestion in my next post.

Nice. Just a question, since I don't know about your plans for the RP, but would you rather have your soldiers idle or given orders from the Reich?

I enjoyed your post! But I have one request. From now on, could you write entirely in the past tense? I think it reads better than the present tense for the purpose of role-playing.
