International Dossier ReportJune 10, 1993
EuropeAliciaIt is of the utmost importance that we keep a steady relationship with Alicia. Their geographic proximity makes them a crucial ally in economic development and political affairs. Our membership in the European Council as an economic member will nearly eliminate limits to our economic access to the relatively rich consumers in Alicia.
LandersvichLandersvich will likely prove to be a powerful economic competitor in the coming years, and it is advised that we limit the presence of their extremely powerful financial institutions in our nation, after seeing how they have effectively completely monopolized the banking industry in many African nations. Politically, it is extremely important that we do not offend Landersvich, as their proximity and power can easily prove devastating if we overstep.
HullThe Kingdom of Hull should be seen as opportunity more than a threat, from both economic and political perspectives. The nation is exceptionally rich, and with tight cooperation we can hope to build a mutually beneficial relationship. There is no need to start conflict of any sort, as they have one of the strongest militaries in the regions and are often thought of as relatively aggressive.
SundsvallThe Kingdom of Sundsvall has, in recent years, struggled to establish themselves as a regional power. We can benefit off of their ambition and disorganization. If we build our economic presence in the kingdom and appeal to the personal desires of King Cambre X, we may be able to influence their government to our advantage.
ParisYangaea and Paris share the English Channel, and the maintenance of peaceful collaboration is critical. This trade route is our path to distribution of goods in Europe, and if we lose relations with Paris we will suffer dearly.
SvallbardThis small island nation may benefit from being welcomed into the Yangaean Isles. Immediate communication with their government is recommended, if we see a benefit from our unification.
The AmericasAmerican FederationThe unfortunate reality is that we must cooperate with this socialist nation. They are massive, and could prove a threat to our development of New Yorkshire. We will have to balance this cooperation with our relationship with Kalandara, as their recent conflict could very possibly inhibit our ability to work with both.
NolianaThis new nation is interesting and a relatively unknown variable. We suggest that we wait a few years before reaching out with substantial relationships.
Santa RosaMainland Santa Rosa is a very substantial nation with economic opportunity. This will likely be impossible for us to take advantage of, however, because of the growing conflict in Trinidad. The small island, under Santa Rosan control, is culturally similar to Tobago, the Yangaean island just a few miles north. We recommend that we put particularly high effort into the development of Tobago, to ensure the people of Trinidad that their annexation into New Yorkshire will benefit the small nation. If Yangaea can sucessfully hold both of the sister Islands, it will serve as a symbolic victory that advances our image around the world.
Africa/Middle EastMbaleThe Republic of Mbale is a machine. Unfortunately, it is a machine that is beyond the possibility of building a positive relationship. New Perth already insulted them and built tension with their handling of refugees during the recent drought, even if they were acting to promote humanitarianism. This tension is only compounded by the strong Catholic presence, causing a cultural tension between the Anglican population in the British Isles.
YahelThis international superpower needs to be an ally. Any cultural and government differences should be set aside if we want to benefit from their strength.
AsiaSongjiangThis Rykovian State is an obvious economic threat. We are likely better off avoiding the regions and industries in which Songjiang is already established, as we will not be able to reap substantial profits.
PavlovskSee Yahel. The only difference between our treatment of Pavlovsk is their presence in Europe, which makes them even more important as an ally.
JapanThis Utilitarian state is a direct threat to human dignity worldwide. We should limit any cooperation to the lowest degree, and consider tariffs and even bans to make sure the Yangaean Isles can not be used as a tool to further the power of this corporate state.
Oceania/PacificKadavuLuckily, New Perth has always had a tight bond with this small nation. We can benefit from their support as a political ally and we mustn't forget their ambition and desire to contribute to the global political stage.
Kalandara This is another nation that New Perth has strong historical relationships with. As previously mentioned, our cooperation with Kalandara may build tension between us and the American Federation. If this were to happen, the Yangaean Isles should side with Kalandara; while the nation is smaller, we cannot forget our history of cooperation and the ideological differences between us and the Federation government.
SenatolaBecause of their size, we need to cooperate with Senatola in order to maintain prosperity in Oceania for the people of New Perth.
