Aurum Civitatem, Imperii Aureliae, 23rd March, 1990
It was a cold spring day, the streets of the Capital City filled with cars, the parks filled with people, all sighing in relief and joy, for the Empire's northern enemy, the barbaric Northern Nation finally having succumbed to the Federation's ideals. It was a spring of revolutions, the Dakian dictator executed in February, Sarmatia's ruling Party outlawed, it's people in the streets, and Gothia declaring independence from the Northern Nation, it truly was amazing to see such a symphony of revolutions, especially after such a long pause.
"Semper Aureliam!" Shouted the entire Legio I Aurelica, which had gathered in the Forum Magistratum.
"Semper Aureliam" Shouted Imperator Augustus Aurelianus XII, Emperor of Aurelia, bearer of the name of Aurelianus, commander of the 1st Legion, as he began marching forward, dressed in ancient Roman armor, bearing the scutum with the Aurelian eagle on it. "Gotta look composed, for the people." He thought.
The soldiers were following him, matching his step and pace, their steps mirroring the thunder, and behind the band was playing a march song, followed by the Legion's mechanized division.
"In today's news, the Army and the Emperor are holding a parade, celebrating 2000th anniversary since the founding of our great Empire! Semper Aureliam! May it last 2000 years more!" Said the TV reporter on scene. "Back to the studio, Claudius." She finished.
"Thank you. And now, for the international news. The Federation has finally ceased it's "Cold War" with the Northern Nation, after the latter succumbed to revolutions and coups, it's own leader resigning at gunpoint. It seems their beliefs weren't enough to stop the Federation's soldiers. Nipponia has finally broke free from Sina's sphere of influence, being protected by the Federation, and, on our own doorstep, Francisco Juliano was elected as President of the Republic of Lombardia. It is unclear whether his rule will further impoverish the Republic, or if it will bring prosperity to it. And that's all for today. Semper Aureliam!" The news anchor ended, as the national anthem began to be played.
