That, stray missile, misunderstanding w/e lol

The whole "massive fleet ramming right into my observation position" doesn't sound too friendly.

lol that too. my fleet (the one that passed by earlier) is gonna be called back shortly to help deal with the invasion.

Wait, is your navy missile/plane based, or cannon based, or something in between? I've noticed that many people use missile/plane based navies, which is precisely where the Leviathan comes into play (something that uses extensive anti-missile/plane systems, as well as direct fire capability on ships, thus negating any anti-missile/plane defenses THEY have.)

I pair em up. battlecruisers mounting coilguns + missile ships +aircraft carriers (aircraft are usually more for land attack+ defense) + the occasional Super Dreadnought or dreadnought.

Sounds similar to me, only I always have dedicated anti-missile defenses on all my major craft, as well as a powerful anti-air Destroyer around.

I would like to see the stats for this "Leviathan".

If it comes into play, I will actually be forced to God Rod it if it is as powerful as you claim.

yah I do the same I have dedicated anti-missile anti-air ships (know as shields) and airdefense ranging from minimal to heavy dependant on ship class.

While on the topic, the Kagetorian Navy is very much fighter/missile based. Nearly all craft have one or the other.

Hm, well, I'm not looking to dive in at the moment.
Currently catching up on what's happened so far, as Beddgelert views Kagetora as one of its most likely opponents in the near future. I don't think we've enough information on DaWoad to make an assessment.

If I drop in to the thread it'd probably be in a passive role for now, just remarking on the Commonwealth's view of the conflict and such. I'm off out, this evening, after a couple of weeks of sitting around on my own, and as a crippling hangover will likely write off most of tomorrow, too, I'm unlikely to be involved too soon, in any case :)

Anyway, this post as been fairly pointless, just poking my head in for a look around...

I didn't see this thread before, sorry for not posting in here before I posted in the IC thread. Is it fine if I come in later, say, after Kage achieves a beach head? I also would like to RP submarine attacks on returning ASD ships, if that is fine.

oh no its definatly cool. GWO. the semi-open bit is more to keep the level of completely new RP'ers down or, at least, to give them a tutorial on how to rp well before they post in the IC thread. I'd be comfortable if you wanted to aid in opening up a southern front as well but try to keep the timescale somewhat realistic. the RIF is more open to immediate attack due to its being deployed away from the ASD but if your looking to attack the nation itself your gonna have to leave some time for troop prep. etc. or explain how thats been the plan from the begining.

My country's been mobilized for a couple NS years now, thanks to some certain unsavory events. It's gone from one conflict to another without time to demobilize.

@DW: Is the tundra surrounding your nation flat or hilly?

Also, sorry for so many questions, but I want to be absolutely sure of what I respond to.
So, you fired 3 waves of 3,200 missiles each at my fleet from your fleet?

For the emplaced defenses, in your ORBAT, you had 100. In your IC, you said 500. There's a mighty big difference.

And for the Myrmidons, is there a difference between your Marines and Myrmidons? (below)
Throughout Blue cove the same scene repeated itself. The five hundred odd Marines who were currently engaged in combat and had survived the initial ennemy landings popped some and abbandoned positions heading south. Few few, cut off or unable to retreat continued to fire on the ennemies but we're soon silenced by ennemy fire and grenades.

If it comes into play, I will actually be forced to God Rod it if it is as powerful as you claim.

What sort of stats are you talking about, strengths+weaknesses and weaponry? Weaponry only? Everything?

It is a Super Dreadnought, built as much for pride as it was built for battle. Specification wise it is about the size of a medium aircraft carrier, although it is built like a modern Battleship deck-wise. Its defenses include eight Phalanx Guns, which are robotic anti-missile and (if they are in range) anti-air miniguns. If those fail to take out enough missiles, the Leviathan Class comes equipped with four THEL (Tactical High-Energy Laser) Anti-Missile defense systems. All of this means the Leviathan would be able to survive a large barrage of enemy missile fire (specifically designed for that purpose, actually.)

Offensive capabilities include one heavy Railgun capable of firing 3 rounds a minute at roughly 18 km/s (designed for that speed since anything higher would cause the weapon to erode rapidly) at a max range of 50 nautical miles (although RL Railguns can attain 150-200 nautical miles, that is up to you if you think that's fair.) The Leviathan can either be fitted with two Railguns, or one Railgun and two 18-inchers (firing at a max range of 24 miles at a max speed of 900 m/s.) The Leviathan and Behemoth are outfitted with the standard Heavy Railgun/two 18-incher configuration, while the Titan is outfitted with two Railguns.

The Leviathan Class is meant to be in a fight, and stay in it for its entirety. It is the classic definition of a Direct Fire weapons platform, carrying no real missile armaments save a custom retrofit with a SAM launcher (not on the Leviathan, but on the Titan.) The main weakness of the Leviathan, however, is that it is a large high priority target, and due to its massive energy consumption (which only a high performance Nuclear Reactor can provide) can be open to sabotage.

I know I didn't add armor thickness and speed, do you want those too?

Armor thickness would be nice. It sounds to me like you're extremely vulnerable to torpedo attacks.
