For reference: the Times is a conservative paper, aligned with the Royalists, the Dubian is a liberal paper, aligned with the Social Democrats, and the Commodore is a populist paper, aligned with the Social Democrats.
The Social Democrats used to have a pretty broad coalition, thus why they traditionally could count on the endorsement of two papers instead of just one.
Forgot to bring up the Africa bit, I’ll just have the Brukean officials ask about that during the summit.

The media is neutral tho, how can you have newspapers that have ideological leanings?

It’s not... reallly.... though?
Unless you’re talking about the BBC or NPR (they’re still biased but they try to mlKd it not blatant and do well in reporting non-ideologically-based news (like local news).
For example, the Wall Street Journal is conservative, the New York Times is liberal- they don’t say it but you can figure it out from their editorial pieces.

Not in current events, I mean how it's really supposed to be. Isn't there some sort of rule for that?

I also want everyone to be aware of Samporna's own open-sabotage RP, Green Tides.
Still, no pressure on everyone. Let's all stay calm and try to have fun!

Then I transition to you to set up the rally? Is that okay?

Also, nice post. I'll see if I can stir up my own newspapers in response to yours.

Pan-Asiatic States wrote:Oh, and, Bruke, are you g for an action-type phase of the RP for when your reporters arrive? I think it'll be fun, stakes higher if you send someone expendable who can die at the riot, but it's fine too if you don't want to do this.
I need the 'uprising' to fail so I can get an excuse for the Head of Government to fly-in under the pretext of reorganizing the government amidst the anarchy; which you can then opportune to assassinate him. That'll be in the coming days.
For a quick rundown of immediately upcoming events however, this is what I had in mind:
(Attn. Kjalaraa and Anglo)
- The rally starts, protestors bark at PASAF military units, led by the Melanesian State-President.
- QnA portion begins with Congressman Maru for foreign reporters.
- Shouts become louder, radicals suggest marching on the District Assembly (State Parliament), and riot police are called to disperse the rally.
- The Melanesian State-President is shot and killed during the demonstrations; you can have Agent Carlson do this amidst the anarchy.
- Anglomir-funded radicals seize key ports as a sign of protest; micking events in Vladivostok (see news thread).
- Military personnel are ordered to intervene, city is shut-down, curfews imposed, martial law declared.
Let's keep the uprising within the city, and casualties below 30, to keep things realistic. Besides, too many armed protestors will heighten suspect of foreign intervention.
Anglo subversive agents can hide among the mob of protestors.
If OOC time becomes a problem, we can RP this over several days, so everyone keep the timestamp headings on 25. Although OOCly, let's get this entire first phase done before March ends. The first week of April can focus on post-riot proceedings and for you guys to stage a possible parallel intervention in Samporna.
Again, I highly recommend joining his RP, as it's vitally connected to this one and to my region's.
