Grand Ayatollah Statement on Recent Events in Syria
Says reckless advent of Jazira is ridiculous

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful

On a televised three-hour address to the people, Grand Ayatollah Aref Rostami has called for “unwavering and unremitting peace throughout the world”, and has condemned the “reactionary, western-created devils” of the newly-proclaimed, and unrecognized state of Jazira in Syria. Calling them ridiculous lackeys of the west, he believes they merely serve the purpose of elongating the civil war in the country.

He further said that any illegal outside interference in Syria, which he suspects led to the foundations of the extremist state, should be prohibited.

His Eminence said that terrorists in Syria are not Muslim, but rather, are “western-created entities [...] which are serving the interests of external sources of prolonging the war, in stamping down upon Islam, and preventing possible routes toward peace.” He also, touching upon the history of the conflict on-going in Syria, that these forces are “probably being trained, funded, and supported by extra-regional secularite forces, and so on, as they’ve done with other such groups in the region.”

His Eminence, nearing the end of his long address, said, “By Allah, we, holding hands with the world, will crush Husseinan Ba'athism, the ideology created by the west to further divide and conquer over the Middle East and, ultimately, destroy Islam.”

His Eminence, as a part of his concluding remarks, expounded the truth that “[o]ur revolution was a just one, one of glory and one which triumphed by the will of the All-Mighty, and we are dejected, in-fact, vastly offended, at the prospect of such a movement as this being regarded as anything, by any length of chalk, revolutionary. It is not, it is a sheer expansion of external imperialism, of interference, of extremism and is a movement of toadies emboldened by those who seek the destruction of our brothers and sisters in Syria!”

Although the Islamic Democratic People's Association, the ruling revolutionary party, is in alliance with the Arab Ba'athist Socialist People's Movement of Al-Diwajah, the two do not share a carbon-copy line. Disagreements have been present since day one of the alliance in 2015.

Nevertheless, Secretary-General Lubaid el-Khalifa of the ABSPM [AD] wrote, on a website notice, that they yearn for the Syrian government to remain in power and that the “Husseinists, who bastardize Islam and push for their efforts of carving up Syria, should, in the name of all that is good, veer away from their project.” The ABSPM [AD] was famously one of the forces which paved the revolutionary road to victory, and being one of the guiding forces in political life following the revolution, the hefty statement of their leader denouncing the Jazira soi-disant state is paramount.

Glorious Emir Hassan ibn Chraïbi al-Hakim, on a separate occasion, has said that, although “differences regarding line [politics], policy, religion, and so forth” exist pertaining to the current leadership of Syria, the government should be respected and remains the legitimate authoritative force in the country. He also said that the “liberation of Syria [can only] come about through the unified strength of the Syrian people, as they crush their western invaders and continue to hold control of their divided, and woefully torn-apart nation.”

In Raqqa and and surrounding areas large protests were held again organized by influential tribal cheifs, religious leaders and former rebel leaders now part of the Jazira movement. At the protests speakers spoke in front ot large crowds explaining the hopes of Jazria's future, the first speaker was a former commander from Ahrar al-Sham in Raqqa, but later fled to western Syria and fought in Aleppo and Afrin but has now returned to Raqqa with assistance from Khataiyi intelligence.

The protestors waved the flags of Palestine, the Free Syrian Army, Islamic banners, the flag of Saddam-era Iraq and Jazira posters of Saddam Hussein, Talha, and various relatives killed over the years were held as well, large signs were also seen with slogans like "God is the Greatest, Death to Iran, Death to Assad, A curse upon the Safavids, Victory to Islam" a mockery of the Iran-backed Houthi slogan, other signs read "Freedom for the tribes, freedom for the Levant, freedom for Iraq!" And so on, the commander spoke,

"We have seen the failures of the revolution, the treachery, the infighting, the corruption and now our defeat! We vowed to defend the people from the crimes of Bashar! We vowed to protect Islam! We vowed to support the honorable tribes! And we vowed to fight until there is victory! Rejoice oh people of the East! This decleration will shape our future, this will be a knife in the side of the Safavids, and a victory for the Arab Sunnis.
