Dots without names can be named still.

I've named the Isla mujeras town guadalupano and characterized it as an older mining town that has been abandoned by the war with a few thousand residents, if that pleases the crown:)

Aye aye. I can't update the map right now, but when I can I will try. I don't have the original, I think Oste does.

Quick edit of the map with Paint just to mark the initial battle sites and Pueblo Ignacio. I'll do a better edit later, adding Guadalupano as well.

I'm planning a post that will basically be a few intelligence officers talking about what they can see going on. At the end of the post I'll cut to some different people extending an offer of support to Menna Shuli. What we'd most like to do is get some fighters in there soon to take over as much of the bomb dropping as possible (Mennan fighters don't have many precision air to ground weapons), and negotiate for some infantry forces to get in the mix, to protect the civilian population more than anything. And maybe get an experienced Miklanian advisor in there to help Sul un-fuck himself.

On Government: Checks and balances and ways of stopping things from happening are the only things that provide a stable government and a stable society.

On Democracy: It is a very neutral thing. It can be the best way of ensuring a reasonable government, or it can lead to genocide in the name of 'the people'.

On NSG: I believe the technical term for you people is "malformed conscience".

On society: Until reason and science become cool again, the "enlightened" who profess both but practice neither will continue to gleefully chip away at the bedrock of human society.

This all sounds good to me.

The shitty bit for Sul is that he's untested and surrounded by people who think they know better than him. He actually has the potential to be a good general. This campaign will make or break that for him.

So I was trying to think about how we would develop long term interest in the isle to justify the infrastructure project we will embark on later and the best answer is to go all in from the start. As menna pulls the twi version of invading Serbia, we will jump in to its defense as both a way to counter menna and remind the region that we do have muscle. The central fleet would be deployed there in what is likely to be the Ashluv's last mission.

Using athara magarat as a base, we would threaten a blockade of the isle and demand an immediate withdrawal of mennan troops (sorry on mobile no accents for now). Failing that, we would move our ropucha class transports in and threaten to counter invade on behalf of San Javier.

Edit: deployment times for the central fleet would be 3-6 days and the marines would take at least 6 to get properly ready to deploy and another 4 or so to travel there.

An advisor who actually knows what he's doing and is on Sul's side against the others might be interesting. I'll cook up a character.

By the way, Sul is only like 32 years old. So he is WAY too young for the job he has right now.

Basically. I was originally intending him to be a little older (pushing towards 40) but it didn't make mathematical sense with the ages of his siblings and his mother, and this wound up being fairly interesting.

I like it. It's a cool dynamic.

I've got an idea for my character worked out. The colonel of the infantry regiment we'll be sending. Small of stature, receding white hairline, friendly, kind, soft spoken. Hyper lethal with a Blue Force Tracker and a radio. A gentle middle aged man with the call sign "Rampage". We'll make a man out of Sul yet.

Menna, when do you think would be the best time for Polar Svalbard to start becoming involved to help supply lines develop? Definetely waiting for the invasion to have calamity before Polar Svalbard commits troops to assist, but I figure that the use of Svalbardian C-130s and other stuff could help when necessary.

Speaking of C-130s, do you want to go ahead and make the in-region version of them? I'd be buying more than a few if you're interested.

Probably once we have a beachhead at the delta. That's when they'll be needed.

I'd be interested in buying some too. I've just made one using C-130 pics with the same basic utility/stats

Planning a post tonight about the communists meeting up. I'm basically going to be trying to have them start with a clean slate under the assumption that most pre-2016 communists were killed or dispersed. Only a few veterans of Santa ana likely survived, one of which I'll be using here.

I have a story in my head which will likely continue once the professional militaries have done their bit and may take a good bit to tell.

I didn't follow the original thread, could someone give a brief synopsis of what Santa Ana is/was?

The end of the Communists. Santa Ana is a city in the mountains to the east. It was the center of communist power in the country. The biggest single battle of the last RP was there, which was effectively urban combat against communsit forces who weren't above flinging shit and corpses at the enemy. It ended with the city effectively being bombed to oblivion from the air, which shattered the communists.

I have made a few character sketches, but I have a few questions before I complete a draft. My general plan is to have a group of Ilsan enter San Javier, deliver weapons, munitions, and supplies, and participate in combat.

What should Ilsan nationals land with? I was thinking a cache of small arms and possibly other things (vehicles, artillery, portable anti-tank/anti-air systems), but was wondering how much.

Where should this expedition land in San Javier? Where can they find the pro-Catholic militias?

When should this occur? The Ilsan nationals would need a few days to charter a ship and then sail it to San Javier.

Finally, how are potential militias with pro-Catholic leanings going to be played OOC? What are their goals or objectives? (And sort of with that, can we get a map with approximate borders of cartel and government control?)

What pro-Catholic militias? The government ARE the right-wing militias, and the entire country is pro-Catholic, for the most part.

Legion 500 will probably come in sometime during the weekend. They'll probably be working the closest with the militias and whatever since they can speak Spanish and conduct their ops effeciently. Besides that I might include a Balniki official overseeing the mercenaries and their payment.

There's also an old naval base on Isla Mujeres that was used by the communists as a smuggling port. That should be factored in, I now realize.

For this rp, as Suvurnia itself will not be directly involved, I was wondering if I could instead control a liberation theology communist group operating in the mountains and with a little presence underground in the city. This would mainly be to add flavor to the rp, and wouldn't affect it in any major way.
