Raid: Fury of Steel

In the year 9081, the planet Mars was subjected to a battle of such fury that the fires left from it burned for over 20 years. The planet's surface, already scoured by solar radiation, was irreparably scarred by merely hours of battle. This battle, in this backwater system of the Milky Way, resulted in the death of Emperor Nicholas: The Master of Time and Emperor Eternal of Irenton.
Years later, in 9115, in the aftermath of the destruction of those who had killed their Emperor, the Irenton Empire launched a single half-kilogramme canister of a weapon to the planet. This weapon, in the span of two weeks, entirely transformed the planet into a machine world. The planetary population: nearly a billion Insurrectionist soldiers, were consumed within the first 12 hours. The planet was then quarantined, with none ever to set foot on it again.
However, wars far beyond the Core drew away more and more ships and soldiers, and so the quarantine was mostly abandoned. The order still stood, granted, but there were none able to enforce it.
Many salvagers and would-be warlords would land on Mars, seeking to recover some of the vast amounts of technology left over after the fall of Emperor Nicholas. None of these landers would ever be heard from again, all contact being lost within seconds of touching down. Eventually, the disappearances of all who landed drew the eye of Imperial forces. When a scanning operation by the IESS Avenger IV ended with the Paladin-Class Cruiser being destroyed by a planetside weapons array, the Empire acted...
Belial, former bodyguard of the late Imperator Augustus, was dispatched personally by Haisan Uluvan alongside the WarFleet Tempest of Shadows and an entire Grand Legion to investigate. It was quickly revealed, by a message from beneath the planet's surface, that the Irenton Empire was not welcome:
"I AM REVIS, THE PERFECTED AVATAR OF THE GREAT MACHINE. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE. THE GREAT MACHINE'S HOLY TEMPLE WILL NOT BE PROFANED BY THE IMPERFECT. YOU WILL ALL DIE!"
Belial, understanding what he was facing in Revis, ordered his forces to land close to the broadcast's source: a vast relay station guarded by an array of cannons. Belial's forces, all either robotic or heavily augmented in nature, secured the landing site with minimal casualties, but were forced to halt when every Imperial cybernetic augment failed upon attempting to enter the first chamber.
Thus Belial put out a call to the Imperial government, requesting assistance from anyone and everyone willing to enter the facility and destroy Revis.

This is another RP in what has become my "Raid" series based on my enjoyment of the Destiny games and their Raid functions. This will be a character based RP, with a collection of professional soldiers and mercenaries being sent to defeat Revis. Inspiration for this came from Wrath of the Machine and what I personally would have wanted the raid to have involved. All characters in this RP can die, but it would not be impossible for an entire squad to remain alive, so don't just send a team of useless chumps. Whether you wish your team to be a pair of ninjas or a 6 man squad of terminators is up to you.
Rules:
- Standard NS rules apply: no godmodding, no metagaming, etc...
- Maximum of 6 characters per team, minimum of 2
- No one is essential, everyone can die, so be prepared
- Characters will die based on my discretion. However, you can kill off your own should you see fit. I will be impartial.
- Weaponry and equipment can be removed from dead persons, but remember to be "realistic" - no carrying thousands of assault rifles.
- Remember to consult in the OOC should you wish to loot another player's character.
- Keep IC conflicts in the IC, this is just a game after all.
