Although Disenko was educated and well versed in history, he felt Catallo downplayed much of the pride the people of the Dzugar unions acquired from toiling hand in hand. Even so now, the Dzugar at the behest of Koba tailored a sense of national pride. It would fall on deaf ears however, hear and now if Disenko attempted to best Catallo in his home field... "why bother", he thought? Disenko would note the significance of architecture though.. The Dzugar Union had gone to great lengths to simplify much regarding living conditions and "cultural" acceptance of such buildings... You could almost say that Disenko felt a shred of difference. That is, until the level of relation came to an abrupt halt. He was not Italian and their rudimentary history of self satisfaction to cling to past glories...

Philosophies rule today... not sycophantic attempts of subsiding the people's basic instinct.

"beautiful... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Catallo. But yes... I understand the pride you maintain." Catallo said assuringly despite disagreeing to the very core. Callousness was a skill Disenko possessed. Not the malicious kind... The kind that could numb itself to agree for the sake of a feint, debate wise.

"Tell me... Do you envy the roman empire's successes?" Disenko asked innocently. Provided Catallo's ability, Disenko knew if he was as cunning as he gave the benefit of the doubt... Catallo would feel the scratch of condescension.

Catallo would look to Disenko, listening intently to his question in hopes of answering as best he could. Catallo would notice the condescending tone in Disenkos voice and would promptly interject with a reply with a tone of upmost sincerity. "I do envy its success and I understand its failures.... It spread across Europe through sheer military and nationalistic pride thus bringing a technological and cultural revolution of the likes that the world had never seen before that time. However, as empires do, it collapsed to infighting among the peoples of Rome who lashed out at each other in anger. They were traitors to their race and nation. It was almost predictable that the barbarians would destroy what was once the center of Civilization and I hope not to lead the modern empire down a similar path.... I also fully recognize the evil inherent in the old empire... Expansive wars, slavery, the persecution of religions.... and I don't apologize for any of it..." Catallo ends his answer with the blunt and forceful statement hoping to further allude to his own ideals and rejection of morality. The Fiat would eventually pull into a small palace in the center of Rome. Pure black banners would flow from the roof that adorned a white silhouette of an Eagle bearing a lighting bolt. The driver would get out and open the door for the two men as several fascist blackshirts saluted the two men and led them towards the entrance.

The Roman empire, center of civilization... Catallo's adoration for a long deceased empire and his ability to plainly speak as if it were yesterday was shockingly expected. If there was anything to agree with, Disenko thought, it would only be in the fact that there was and is nothing to apologise for. The rest, quality material for the rubbish bin. However, Disenko would not steal from Catallo's tirade. If empires seek to preserve themselves then that is exactly what they become; preserves. Dried preserves.

Disenko was not alone in his observations of the cityscape of Rome. No, his entourage too took in the streets, the people, and the furling black flags of the regime. As they reached the Palace front and exited the fiat, Disenko would depart the informal conversation simply.

"Colonel... Innumerable roads make their way to the Rome that lay in ruin." speaking calmly, Disenko took full note of Catallo's blunt conclusion. "The virus of violence a curses those with an ability to manipulate the chaos." Disenko's gaze would be focused onto Catallo before his gaze shifted to the Eagle and lightning bolt proudly displayed. The afternoon sun touching all men present, a macabre display of 2 forces or ideas colliding as the grey Dzugar trench coats and high peaked military caps stood afront the eagle and bolt in defiance in the Palace Square.

"If the February Rome falls, gurgling on unruly power. Clamoring howls and shouts of praise from masses..." Disenko's Russian subtlely echoing theatrically. "Not for another archangel that attempted to display proprio amore from past triumphs of war." Coldly eyeing the colonel, Disenko's eyes deeply focused and tuned.

"It will be for the demon that showed them all classlessness". Ending just as forcefully as Catallo. One thing was certain to Disenko, both Catallo and himself were aggressors in this world. Afflicted with the virus of violence. Not a soul in this realm could manipulate or coerce them from their trajectory. Disenko would lightly tip his commissar cap to the Italian Colonel and proceed with his briefcase in hand. The passing thought of the handgun left in the train car flashed as he followed the escorters.

The Crusade of Steel

Plan is law, fulfillment is duty, over-fulfillment is honor!

With deputies now in place, Koba continued to insert key supporters into positions of control. Satellites of both the Kaemenid state and the Dzugar were emboldened with hard-line Koba supporters. Those that resisted were more often than not reprimanded for counter-revokutionary charges in one form or another. Sabri himself being a devout Koba supporter for the assistance he received in the Persian liberation, followed Dzugar initiatives almost entirely to the Tee. The combined Kaemenid-Dzugar Cheka offices began a campaign of labor camps and undertaking massive public works that would be supplemented by this prisoner work force. The baltic canal was an example of this, along with refineries of Iran and various industrial assets. Siberia would be a mainstay resort for much of the prison labor. The goal was a massive industrialization that would bring the DCU to the forefront of the world.

Propaganda would now be centered around war rhetoric. Workers would be given quotas and objectives enforced by posters and flyers used to promote and advertise were in a form reminiscent of wartime. Terms such as "fronts," "campaigns," and "breakthroughs" would be made entirely common while at the same time workers were to be forced to working harder than ever before and referred to organized "shock troops," those who rebelled or failed to adhere in their work would be treated as traitors. Essentially the idea was to prepare the communist citizenry and differentiate them from the capitalist and fascist states, inferring that conflict would very much likely arise from these proposed nations. This plan or "great turn" was to be a psychological revolution intended to transform all aspects of society. Collectivization of farms, construction of factories both west and eastward with the help of German Socialist specialists were to be undertaken. This help was of immense help due to the exodus of domestic specialists who did not agree with Socialist ideals.

Statistics and economic projections of the proposed allocations gave indication of future food shortages that were to be addressed by foreign policy under both Disenko and Faizal of the Kaemenid but were now only in the making. The preparation of the invasion of Eastern Europe provided a scape goat for the Dzugar to incite public support, so long as everything went according to plan, crisis may very well be averted. A bloody campaign against the peasant's traditional lifestyle was now in motion.

The Wars of Eastern Europe

A trident mobilisation of Dzugar forces would be implemented on the eastward drive to the German proposed division of Eastern Europe. The beginning phase would see 4 divisions of the Dzugar Union Cross Latvian borders and immediately begin armed conflicts with Estonian and Latvian resistance. Hard thrusts from 2 divisions hailing out of Ivanogorod and Pechory would penetrate the Eastern border line of Estonia. Despite rumors of the military build up the past months, general strikes and sabotage of friendly workers parties sapped much will to fight from the Estonian army unable to coordinate under the coalition of Estonian political parties and forced them to lay down their arms when confronted. At this juncture and even prior, soldiers were prompted by propaganda to even shoot their officers that sided against the proletariat worker.

The 6th Red Rifle Division supplemented by Kaemenid Auxiliaries struck the border town of Narva, which marks the beginning of the Estonian War.
The 6th Red Rifle Division also supplemented with Kaemenid auxiliaries mobilized with 7,000 infantry, 22 field guns, 111 machine guns, an armored train, two armored vehicles, two airplanes, and the Bogatyr class cruiser Oleg supported by two destroyers. The town, defended by men of the Estonian Defence League (consisting partly of secondary school students). Guarenteeing a Dzugar victory.

The Dzugar 2nd Novgorod Division opened a second front south of Lake Peipus, with 7,000 infantry, 12 field guns, 50 machine guns, two armored trains, and three armored vehicles. Estonian military forces consisted of 2,000 men with light weapons and about 14,500 poorly armed men in the Estonian Defence League.

The 49th Red Estonian Rifle Regiment took the Valga railway junction in accordance to Dzugar directive and the city of Tartu fell soon after. Also following the 49th's success, the 6th Red Rifle Division captured the Tapa railway junction, advancing to within 34 kilometers of the nation's capital Tallinn. Estonian communists declared the Estonian Workers' Commune in Narva.

7th Red Army now occupationally controlling Estonia along the front line 34 kilometers east of Tallinn, west from Tartu and south of Ainaži.

Giving the northernmost division responsibility to produce terms of an Estonian Surrender or a siege of the capital Tallinn would be undertaken. Tallinn was expected defend itself with a last stand but support for this resistance was uncertain. The direction of the assault would push refugees and migrants west and then ultimately south to Latvia... The goal was to supplement the coupe de tat devised by the Estonian Communist parties.

Koba recognized the agricultural significance Estonia possessed, also its position as a haven for counter revolutionary Russian monarchists, and sought to fully bring it under the Dzugar umbrella.

Latvia
Working in tandem, the Dzugar offensive followed suit into Latvia. Giving their assurances to the local parties, the Dzugar convinced the People's Worker's party of Latvia to proclaim the Independence of the Socialist Republic of Latvia and created the Latvian Communist Government headed by Kārlis Ulmanis. On January 12th, 1920 the newly proclaimed republic was invaded by Dzugar Russia to consolidate their position. Much of the invading army in Latvia consisted of Red Latvian Riflemen, which made the invasion easier. The Dzugar offensive met little resistance with these developments as the pre existing Latvian government was reeling in shock from the mutineeing soldiers. In the north Alūksne was taken on February 4th, Valka on Febrhary 18, and Cēsis on March 16th in the south Daugavpils was taken on March 29 and Pļaviņas on Aprik 17. Riga was captured by the Dzugar Army on July 6th, 1920. By the end of August, the Latvian Resistance Government had retreated all the way to Liepāja, while the Red offensive stalled along the Venta River awaiting orders and news of the German Socialist advance. The Latvian Socialist Soviet Republic is officially proclaimed on August 13 with the political, economic, and military backing of the Dzugar Union of Russia.

Ukraine

Dzugar forces awaited orders and news of the Ukrainians proclaimed a Western Ukrainian People's Republic (WUNR) in Eastern Galicia, which wished to unite with the Ukrainian People's Republic (UNR). A swift Dzugar offensive was in order.

As the two men followed the Blackshirts into the palace, Catallo responded to Disenko in a tone that was high and somewhat mocking "Do not reject reality, my friend... Classes exist because not all men are equal, Darwin has taught us that much...". Catallo was then interrupted by a man wearing a similar uniform coming towards him. The man, much older, saluted Catallo which was responded to in kind by Catallo. The man studied Disenko and his entourage, deducing their ideology and genetic makeup in seconds. The man would look to Catallo and whisper into his ear. Catallo would nod at the unknown words of the man and, in Italian, introduced the Communists to the unknown man. "This is Alexi Disenko, a commissioner here on appointment by The Dzugar Union. He brings information that must be relayed to Il Duce Francesco Giunta.". The man would nod and continue on his way but not before saluting once again to Catallo and uttering the phrase "Ave Italia" which Catallo would say in response. Catallo looked at Disenko and made a gesture beckoning him and the reds deeper into the palace. The palace itself is of renaissance construction and the centuries old walls are covered in the paint of the great artists of that time. It was yet another relic of the old Italy now used as another source of fuel to the engine of Fascist ideology. The palace is alive as well as the group passed by a ballroom that had been converted into a radio station that sent news updates and orders throughout Italia to military outposts. The operators mostly consisted of women who wore simple white tops and coal black skirts that flowed below the knee. Most of the rooms would be fashioned into offices and sleeping quarters for those close to Giunta so they would be available at all times. Blackshirts, women and men, would give cold inhuman looks at the Communists as Catallo lead them through the halls. The group eventually arrived at a stair case that lead to a large office of ornate design. An imposing oak desk dominates the room as the stone walls hold thousands of years worth of Italian art and history. A figure of about 33 years old sat behind the desk. The figures face and hair would be well cared for and trimmed to show a respect for order. Catallo would immediately snap into a salute as the figure began to stand. The figure would salute back and nod at Catallo whilst eyeing Disenko. The figure would speak in a calm voice towards Disenko "So... I see that the Communists have finally come to visit our home... I know a lot about you Commissioner Disenko... but what do you know about me?" The figure would move around the desk and lean against the front of it, eager to here the Russian respond to his query. Catallo would move to the side of the room and remain in a position of respect towards the figure.

The Good sir would nod, his young companion nodding slowly as well, her gaze going off in to the distance and she retreated in to her self. Her part in this conversation would be, God willing was over and she could go for something stiff to drink at this point.

As the group proceeded through the elegant halls of the Italian Palace, they held their heads high almost in contempt. Only those not of the Cheka allowed their eyes to wander and look upon the cold glares of the black shirt faculty. Safe to say it was very few Russians who did so but having done this, was inevitable for those of... Limited stature.

The conversions of the Palace greatly reflected the same characteristics of the now government buildings in Russia, save for the relics of the past due to the fact that the Romanov family had either stole away with whatever valuables they could, or the gnashing maw of "war communism" rent away with the remaining icons of the imperial past. Upon reaching the last room, Disenko would wave his hand at the retinue, which signalled a majority to stay behind in reception. Those that followed included the tall gaunt man, Agaranov, a short portly man, and lastly a typist. Only at the behest of Il Duce would the typist take a seat to the back of the room and produce a typewriter from his case and begin recording the conversation, attempting to be as quiet ass possible. Disenko had no part in this impart that Agaranov was most certainly under the thumb of Koba. The reason behind this tab keeping and recording was largely due to Koba not trusting either Agaranov or Disenko fully and 'insisted' a record of conversation be kept, entirely.

So that he may assess the circumstances of political and foreign relations at any time.

Disenko himself, a higher member of the party and of the Politburo was not shaken in the least and followed the protocol for the sake of doing so. Disenko was neither a sheister or a deceptions, entirely confident in his ability to further the Union's Agenda. Disenko would place his briefcase to the ground and look to Guinta steadily and calmly before placing his hands behind his back, a posture of pondering if you would.

"Well, I'm certainly flattered that a man such as yourself would be aware of my existence, a mere servant of the Union". Disenko speaking modestly would not sway in the least to the Duce's question. "I myself do my utmost to keep up with the times and... Educate myself on ongoing events, both past and present. You are Franscesco Guinta, an affirmed Lawyer- which I presume cultivates your appreciation for things of order. At one point, a rebel yourself to the Monarchy, or what we communists like to call a "revolutionary man of action" . Many credit your speeches as the catalyst of the Italian monarchs downfall but... I feel it's safe to say that we know it was not the speeches that killed the King, Garibaldi... It was you yourself. The judge, jury, and executioner who gave the order." Disenko at this point was almost speaking cheerfully, not because he enjoyed the violent acts but because in front of him was a man that would go down in history. A Socialist history.

Side eyeing only for a moment, Disenko would continue. "I also know that not long ago you postured yourself as a staunch resistor of the capitalists, those that sought to take advantage of the italian people from a safe distance, and you dispelling them from this very palace... I believe 'Rats' is the honorary title you gave them." Disenko grinned, subtly displaying his canine teeth, only further complimented by his sharp eyes to portray a visage of utter satisfaction.

Disenko having come across this knowledge so soon was only impart of the public debacle firstly, but secondly because Italian communists driven underground, lead by Mauricio Delgado had relayed the information the week prior to Disenko's arrival. Disenko wholly appreciating the fact that despite Guinta's welcoming of them being the first communists to arrive, Disenko knew full well Guinta was doing his utmost to eradicate the communist present that already resides in Italy, the fact Delgado had not contacted the Dzugar since the Togeria dispel made as much clear.

Rome

Catallo smirked whilst listening to the history that Disenko had just related and likewise Giunta would nod in approval of his council. Giunta, speaking in a much friendlier tone would move towards Disenko whilst speaking. "I see you are a student of history, Disenko… And don't sell yourself so short... You are not just a slave of a soulless union but you are a catalyst to the future of Europe and the world." Giunta would move back to his desk, tapping his fingers against it. "The very decisions we make in this room, at this moment, will have the power to keep millions of young men from the fires of Hell..." Giunta would return to the seat behind his desk and would motion to the chair that sat in front of it. "So, Disenko…. You have my attention... please sit!". Suddenly a young women of about 20 years old would rush into the office with a small piece of paper. She would hand the paper to Giunta who would quickly read it and thank the women as she rushed back out of the office. Giunta would slide the paper onto the desk, face down as to hide its contents from Disenko before returning his attention to the Comissioner.

Romania And The Black Sea

The Italian Black Sea Naval Command consisting of two newly redesigned Conte Di Cavour Class Battleships (The Dante Alighieri and The Michelangelo), one redesigned Andrea Doria Class Battleship (The Luca Bartolomeo), and 10 MAS Gunboats were stationed along the Romanian coastline when word of Dzugar military buildup along The Ukraine had reached Italia. This military buildup prompted orders for the fleet to move towards the Peninsula of Crimea in hopes of posturing itself against The Union. The fleet would arrive at the Penninsula in full view of the small Dzugar presence in The Black Sea.

The Second Balkan Field Army, consisting of 125,000 Balkan nationals armed with Carcano Rifles, Beretta M1918 Submachineguns, and Beretta M1923 semi automatic pistols. The Field Army likewise fields 100 Fiat 3000s armed with 37 MM Guns. The Field Armies Artillery consists of Cannone da 75/27 modello 11/12 (75 mm Field Gun) and the Obice da 149/12 (149 mm Howitzer). The Second Balkan Field Army would be positioned along the Romanian coastline near the border of Ukraine. Artillery and Infantry positions would be quickly set up as the men of the Balkans prepared for what seemed to be an impending war against the communist union to the north. High ranking officials hoped that the posturing of the military would be enough to prevent The Union from advancing rapidly into Ukraine and towards Romania.

Disenko would nod at Guinta's gesture to take a seat, slowly gaiting to one of the few wooden chairs that stood before the large ornate desk. The flaps of his great coat would cloak the wood linings, Disenko would cross his leg and posture himself comfortably. He would reach into his black fatigues and produce a tin case of cigarettes and silently gesture a request for him to smoke. After which he would place the cigarette case on the desk for Guinta to easily reach and take one if he so wished.

"In this era, a man not engaged in politics and history, really ought to not call himself a man at all..." Disenko remarked in thick Russian. Given Guinta's remark about men and their possible voyage to hell, Disenko responded. "The lives of men always seems to be inevitably decided in rooms just like this... But when you chop wood- chips must fly." Disenko retorted trailing off into an utterance as the woman made her exit. Granting a moment for Guinta to handle his state obligations regarding the woman. Disenko would glance at the paper being slide upside down, pausing only briefly.

In Disenko's mind, he was well aware of the Dzugar movements onto bordering nations that were spiking in revolutionary activity. What he was not aware of was the Fascist's determination to erect themselves in opposition to these undertakings at the Romanian border or along the black Sea. Presumably, Disenko imagined that the woman merely informed Guinta of the Dzugar offensive- if not something else. "We stand for organized terror - this should be frankly admitted. Terror is an absolute necessity during times of revolution. Our aim is to fight against the enemies of the Dzugar Government and of the new order of life. With that said, I'm certain this raises concerns. We have been informed through political channels that you would very much like to keep our movement beyond... 'hand's reach'. As one of the few remaining... collected nations, I am assigned with delegating and I imagine compromising with the figureheads of your state. In avoidance of disorganized terror."

Agaranov, like a statue, followed as best as he could while the typist behind clacked away. At the end of his tirade, Disenko would produce a match stick and proceed to light his cigarette taking only light hits and exhaling to the side. As it was not his intention to disrespect.

"It is no secret" Disenko stated "The Dzugar Red Army exhumes itself from the ashes of its revolution and ushers forth to assist bordering nations in their own revolutions. Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, and Ukraine. All yearning for revolyutsiya." Disenko's eyes gleaming at the power the Russian word for revolution rolled off his tongue with.

Calmly digressing, Disenko ended questioningly and inquisitively. "In the Black Sea, there is only you and us. In between Germany and the Dzugar is only you. Hungary and Romania, mere reactionary governments filled to the brim with peasants that seek acknowledgement. Is there, or is there not, a desire to organize the terrorism set to inevitably occur, Gospodin Guinta?"

The silence danced with the succession of clacking keys from a Russian type writer.

Ukraine and Belarus

The desperate resistance of the reactionary states was teetering on chaos for the longest time. Both nations maintaining immense quantities of dissidents and collective groups who revolted and sided with the Dzugar.
Belarus, plagued by factions found itself torn between Dzugar Socialist, Conservative independants, and Polish ambitions. The 4 divisions assigned to advance Belarus were met with immense difficulty is sustaining the Polish forces and desperately petitioned the Dzugar politburo to insist the German Socialists begin their offensive to weaken the Polish position. At the same time the remaining 3 reserve divisions anxiously awaited the order to reinforce the central army to Belarus but had yet to recieve it. Koba, now beginning to think this may have been a ploy by the Germans to bear the brunt of the offensive so they may swoop in for the majority of war booty. At the very worst, steal the gains that the Dzugar fought so hard for.

Despite stimmying the Kiev uprising 2 years prior, the Central rada found itself with out an ally after the German revolution. To the east of Kiev, Kharkov had already become a haven for Dzugar sympathisers and merely awaited the directive to act. Even the Anarchists to the south under Nestor Makhno, took this time to consolidate their powers and fight for control against local Bolsheviks formed in Odessa and Donetsk-Krivoy Rog calling to create a Ukraine Dzugar Republic.

The Dzugar offensive would see a swift advance into Eastern Ukraine toward Central Ukraine, 7 divisions marching through Ukraine, totaling 90,000 Dzugar soldiers and Kaemenid Auxiliaries. The Rada had a limited armed force at its disposal (the Ukrainian People's Army) and was hard-pressed by the Kharkov government which received men and resources from the Russian Dzugar Republic. As a result, the Bolsheviks quickly overran Poltava, Zaporizhia, and Dnipro with the help of peasant defence groups known as "Green armies" and Bolshevik trade union strikers.

As the advance of Eastern Ukraine concluded, 3 divisions set out east to the capital of Kiev. Coordinating with beligerants wishing to begin a Kiev uprising, an ultimatum was produced by General Tarkhova for the central Rada to Surrender lest they wish to recieve the full offensive of the Dzugar Army. The plan entailed for arsenal workers at a factory in Kiev to mutiny by storming the factory as a major distraction before the red guards advanced onto the city, putting the central Rada in dire straits. The remaining 4 Divisions, comprising of a heft amount of Kaemenid forces would be lead by a Persian General, Ibrahim Saleh, who began to recieve reports of an Italian build up response at the Crimea peninsula-shockingly he quickly relayed this information to headquarters to insist on a quick response from the Dzugar chain of command.

Koba, accompanied by the Premier of the Persian Kaemenid, Sabri, slammed his fists into the desk and was clearly perturbed by the news of possible Italian intervention. The entire purpose of utilizing Kaemenid Auxiliaries was to streamline army experience in Eastern Europe so that the may be better prepared in the future once they return to Iran. However the steady flow of reports indicated the unripe force may be forced to combat the Fascists much sooner than expected. The deployments placed almost a majority of Kaemenid troops in nearest proximity to the positions of the Fascists, which was beginning to unsettle the Kazakh. It would take weeks to mobilizer Russian soldiers to replace the Kaemenid losses if they were to occur.

Not enough time had been given for the black Sea fleet to re organize or produce new ships, however the acquisition and recapture of the Wrangel fleet ensured there was assets to utilize. An urgent missive would be sent to Novorossiysk to mobilize the Black Sea fleet to posture itself against the Italian formation. Given the suddenness of the Italians, it would take time for their arrival, however if the Fascists wished to measure their blades against the Dzugar, Koba swore that the Italians would be found wanting.

The Ekaterina II class 'flag' Battleship, Czerna, along with 4 of the Beskoiny class destroyers maintained in the "Russian squadron" group would be mobilize and accompanied by the only 4 bars class submarines in the Black Sea and 5 gunboats. After being informed of only 5 gunboats in the black Sea, it was said a quarter master stationed at Novorossiysk was sent to a Gulag for not commissioning more to be produced or having been produced, as this is just a rumor due to Cheka suppression. It would take time for their arrival but the Italians would not be allowed to be uncontested... Largely impart to propaganda campaigns that after the Ottoman defeat, the Dzugar had established themselves as the main power in the black Sea. The remaining fleet stationed at Novorossiysk had been placed on high alert to set out.

Rhodesia

Faizal abruptly turned joyous to entirely confused. It was no secret that the Dzugar had already begun exporting revolution and the population centers at large throughout the world were receiving varying forms of Socialist propaganda. Africa was no exception! The 3rd World was highly acknowledged as fertile grounds for revolution! His station offered little insight into the plans of his higher ups and Faizal knew full well the consequence of going above and beyond ones station...

A sudden flash imagination of what a Persian Gulag would be like in crippling heat, stabbing of sand storm grain piercing bare back caused a subtle shiver to run down Faizal's spine.

"Martial action?" he questioned slightly irritated. "The conquests of your state are your own, as I highly doubt you find your colony friendly to the Socialist causes with the word of all the aid to the monarchists." Faizal slightly quivered as adrenaline coursed his veins, sweat gathering on his brow. "I am not a military commander, and merely am a delegate present to propose a business arrangement in favor of cordial relations and mutual benefit." Faizal relaxed as he found his footing and kept himself from spewing counter revolutionary hatred.

"I cannot promise anything of the sort. Whether I wanted to or not" he recanted in a Persian accent. "If you agree to this proposal, logistics and delivery responsibility belongs to you the very same way payment and transaction is accounted to us." Faizal stated and concluding by suggesting "Surely you colonials have the means of assuming control as you already have shown on much of the world. So... Will you sign the agreement or not?"

Rome

Giuntas once light tone had quickly soured into one of pure contempt for the man before him, speaking in a thick Italian accent. "Assist in revolutions?" the Duce laughed "Call it what it is, Commissioner... Imperialism... I hope that in your final moments of life that you will look upon your decayed union and the strength of the eagle only to realize that you were the hypocrites..." Giunta stood and turned his back to Disenko, looking upon the banners that hung from the wooden walls. Catallos expression moved from a smirk to a light smile of a man who was about to reveal his true nature to his enemy. Catallo would slowly remove the blood stained knife so that Disenko could easily see it. Giunta would continue speaking whilst looking away from Disenko. "As we speak, the blood of innocents in Ukraine is being spilled by men who wish nothing more than to erase the Ukranian identity from the planet... and after Ukraine, Italia.... You are correct in your assumption that lives of men are decided in halls like these...." At this moment, Giunta would collapse behind his desk as two sturmtroopers barged into the room with M1918 submachine guns at the ready. Disenko and his men would be unable to react as the sturmtroopers opened fire into the room, bullets shredding into the flesh and bone of the hypocrites. Bullets would volley into the thick oak desk that now protected Giunta. The bullets causing wood chips to fly into the air, echoing Disenkos own words. Within half a minute, the gun fire would stop as the lifeless body of the typist fell upon the machinery of his trade. Disenkos own body would fall to the ground despite him still clinging to some form of life. Catallo would move forward towards Disenkos gutted body, lifting him up and staring him in the face. Catallo would speak softly to Disenko "Comissioner, your union has lied to you" as he drove his pocket knife into Disenkos throat, ending his life. Catallo would remove the knife and let Disenkos lifeless body fall to the ground. Giunta would rise and nod at both Catallo and the Sturmtroopers before walking confidently out of the office.

Ukraine

The worst had come to past as war was on the horizon. The Second Balkan Field Army would begin to advance into South Eastern Ukrain under direct orders from Rome and with the support of the Ukranian Government. A small fighting force of nearly 5,000 Ukranian Nationalists would form up under the field army in hopes of aiding in the creation of a Fascist state in Ukraine. Likewise, the Romanian militiary would begin the mass persucution of Communist revolutionaries as the Romanian military mobilized for war against the red threat. The First Balkan Field Army, consisting of another 125,000 Balkan Nationals would take up position in Bulgaria in order to support the advance of the second with men and supplies. The Second Balkan Field Army would form a defensive line that began just north of the Ukrainian city of Odessa and headed west from said location. Obice da 149/12 Howitzers would be set up along the defensive line that would be contructed from various concrete fortifications in the area, miles of trenches, mg positions, and various positions for Cannone da 75/27 modello 11/12. Caproni heavy bombers would be transported into the area and would begin daily flights that would focus on bombing out the advancing enemy far ahead. These bombing campaigns would be the first acts of violence in the war thanks to the near lack of air power used by the Dzugar forces. The war was set, all that was left to do was to wait for the arrival of the Dzugar forces.

The Alps
Image

Word of the impending war with the Dzugar would likewise reach the mountain troops tasked with defending the alps from a possible German advancement should war break out. A force of nearly 50,000 Italian men had been deployed to the alps since the formation of Fascist Italy. These men were harshly trained in the elements for the mountain and guerilla warfare that would soon occur. Cannone da 75/27 modello 11/12, Concrete bunkers, MG Positions, Snipers, and trenches had been extensively built in layers throughout the alps in for defensive purposes. Likewise, extensive supply lines from North Italy would be set up into the alps in order to ensure troops were well armed and well fed. Heavy bombers and light mg planes would also begin to patrol the skies as to ensure constant knowledge on German troop positions. Howitzers would be set up where the room was available for them and they would be used in extreme cases.

Mauricio Delgado, an Italian communist would be the only man capable of alerting the Dzugar Politburo of the Commissar Disenko's tragedy. Lenin's golden boy had been unsanctimoniosly murdered under what should have been diplomatic immunity. It would take time, but by the time the Fascists positioned themselves, it would be cabled eventually to Koba and inform him of his rival's demise... A demise he fully intended to squeeze for everything it was worth.

The Mourning

Radio was abuzz with the death of the demagogue. The revolutionary of revolutionaries had been slain at a political delegation with the Italians. Political commissars roared with inflammatory rhetoric slamming the unjust, vile, barbaric, actions of what they called "intellectual retardation fermented by Conservative values". A massive parade, heralding portraits of Disenko and Lenin would be impromptly commenced by the people as men, women, and children took to the streets of Moscow. Weeping tears of sorrow and wanton revenge. Koba however... Hid his joy behind sullen eyes facading retribution.

Ukraine

At the time of the Italian introduction, Southern Ukraine was vastly outnumbered. Holding only 4 divisions amounting to just 60,000 men. Making it as far as Mikolaiv, northeast of the Odessa line established by the Fascists. General Tarkhov ordered the remaining Dzugar reserves to reinforce the supply lines of the southern front as the red guards in Kiev consolidated the city's control and established order under the new Dzugar occupation. Further pushing the Central Rada east after abandoning Kiev.

Armed with Mosin Nagants supplied by their Russian counterparts, the southern Ukraine army composed of a majority of Persian Kaemenid volunteers. At this juncture, General Takharov insisted General Saleh introduce them to Dzugar policy, The slogan, "exhortation, organization, and reprisals" to express the discipline and motivation and help ensure the Red Army's tactical and strategic success. In campaign, the attached Cheka Special Punitive Brigades are to conduct summary field courts-martial and executions of deserters and slackers. The Kaemenid premiers acceptance of a Kaemenid Cheka ensured the presence of Persian political commissar's in each unit of the Kaemenid. The Dzugar-Kaemenid opt to enforce the loyalty of the various political, ethnic, and national groups in the Red Army through the political commissars attached at the brigade and regimental levels. The commissars also maintain the task of spying on commanders for political in correctness. Political commissars whose Chekist detachments retreated or broke in the face of the enemy would be rewarded the death penalty. Takharov also authorized General Ibrahim Saleh to place blocking units behind politically unreliable Red Army units, to shoot anyone who retreats without permission, including Russian and minority groups under his command.

Image

The 1st Tehran Volunteer Division of the KSA, consigned to the Ukraine offensive under General Ibrahim Saleh

Armed and supplied with 5 round 3 liner Mosin Nagant rifles, Nagant M1895 revolver pistols, 60 field guns, and 240 machine guns, the 4 division's commanders were briefed. Auxiliaries were to be divided evenly despite uneven Division numbers. (2 divisions consisted of 10,000 men while another 2 consisted of 20,000 men per division).

The revolution afforded no help to Dzugar airforce acquisitions, as the imperial Russians had only just barely improved the status of the Red Air force. More than 1300 aeroplanes became a basis of Workers' and Peasants' Air Fleet. More than two-thirds of these aeroplanes were foreign-made. More than 50% of all aeroplanes were "Nieuports", more than 15% of all aeroplanes were "Farmans" and about 9% of all aeroplanes were "Voisins". Only 300-350 of these aeroplanes are able to be utilize because of the lack of spare parts and maintenance problems. However a small segment was already being utilize for reconnaissance, 3 planes. Orders for 10 fighters was also requested.

Both divisions of 10,000 were to advance and create a Southern front and establish a counter line against the Italians occupying odessa. At the same time, both divisions would manuevre west approximately 45 miles from the souther front and open a second front. General Saleh was under strict orders to place a heftier amount of political commissar's in this position and here the blocking formations. This was impart of the large Kaemenid composition... Italian Hatred nestled in the hearts of Persians would begin here.

Unknowingly outnumbered, it wouldn't be until the reconnaissance planes returned that the souther Ukraine forces would be afforded the 10 fighters. Reporting that Italian bombers had begun to assail their advancements and slowing it immensely. After hundreds of helpless deaths, the bombers would find scheduled patrols of 3-4 fighters from Karkhov, protecting the Dzugar advance.

Novorossiysk

The remaining dreadnought and 4 destroyers from the "Russian squadron" would set out from port almost a full day behind their vanguard fleet. Their trajectory differed slightly, at full speed they set out- more south than west.

Togerian Republic:

Iran:
The lands of Iran previously known to the British as Persia was a key and strategic point. The land bridge between the two worlds of the Occidental and Oriental the fall of Iran to the Collective Union was a harsh hit to the interest of the Greater Empire. The grip of Communism was apparent as operatives originally sent into the country from the Raj to observe the politics of the Iranian court would bare witness to the first acts of suppression and arrest against the previous government. Further they would see how the Communist utilizing the spell of populism incited the fury of the populace, poor fools the old guard were and poor fools these revolutionaries are.

The spread of Communism especially within Eastern and Central Europe had necessitated the creation of an agency, first to operate within Britain but soon a second office would have to be opened within India. Out of all the Republics, India was the one perhaps closest to falling out the sphere of Togeria and into another. Previous mishandling of Indian affairs had led to famines and revolts of which thousands to millions died in the aftermath.

This went through the heads of every official as they worked within their post within India, the possibility that these mishandlings could be used to add fuel to any populist uprising and severely hinder the Togerian control of the subcontinent. The Committee of Subcontinental Integration(CSI). Their mission statement would be to see the Indian Subcontinent fully integrated under an Indo-Anglo influenced education system, equal rule of law for all those living within the Subcontinent, promotion and protection of unions, easing of racial relations, and the extermination of subversive forces domestic or abroad that may unravel the peaceful fabric of Subcontinental harmony.

Overseer of Committee Operations, Adam Cedarwood born within Cornwall would from the age of 28 to present day would serve in India within administration. He would aid in diplomatic missions between the Raj and the princely state of the Hyderabad. Now at the age of 41 his continued service makes him invaluable in Imperial ambitions to keep their hold within India, and Cedarwood understanding the threat of a communist Iran could prove a funnel, with the Afghan states and western Raj being the most threatened in any possible invasion. It was initially a thought of the Governor-General to being fortifying the border of the Raj heavily though after some counsel from the executive he would remiss.

Instead he would send a team of scouts into the territory, selected from the western portions of the Raj with a careful selection of those who were either Pashtun or could converse in Farsi. Their mission would be enter the country through Afghanistan under the cover of fleeing tribesman. Among them would be Uzuri Gulzai:
Image

With her would be an older man going by the name of Mohammad Gulzai the father of Uzuri:
Image
Mohammad himself was however wasn't from the western Raj or even the Raj entirely. His name was Mendel Davidson born within London he had through former military service, served within Egypt and lower Arabia with experience further within the Levant. Though his Farsi was poor he knew enough Arabic to converse within that language and further was able to disguise his Farsi under an Arabic accent feigning illiteracy should he be questioned on it.

These two along with two others would within a week of their notification and prep on the mission would be informed about their departure, concession having been made prior to see their passage made safe through Afghanistan and into Iran through the city of Zaranj. Their mission was observation and interaction, to pose as aspiring revolutionaries but to not get lost in the machinery of the Collective. They were to try and see as close to the perspective of the Iranians and to gauge how truly faithful these men were to the mission of the DCU.

The City Of Odessa, Ukraine

A small child of nearly 10 years old would run through the plentiful alleys of Odessa as he chased after his childhood friends. The Imperial Russian City, built on the backbone of Greek and Tatar settlements, is rich with beautiful architecture of both Turkish and Russian origin. Founded officially by The Russian Empress Catherine The Great, the city would now become a central location in a coming conflict that would undoubtedly lead to the deaths of millions of young men. The child would run out into the street to see a line of Fiat 37 MM light tanks, marching soldiers of Slavic ethnicity, and transport trucks filled with food and munitions. The child would look upon the bitter faces of the men who marched forward to what would be certain death in the name of The Fascist Ideology. This fighting force would see the war as nothing more than a defensive war against the encroachment of communism upon regions such as Romania and deeper into the Balkan homeland. It was common thought at the time that as long as Odessa did not fall that hope for a free Ukraine had not been lost. The war was here and no mortal man could stop it.

The Ukrainian Front

Image

The advance of the Persian troops would be welcomed by the opening of extended shelling campaigns by Obice da 149/12 Howitzer teams (using throughout the Ukrainian Front. These campaigns would make it extremely hard for the Persian forces to set up a frontline anywhere close to the Italian lines with any attempt to get closer being met by nothing other than swift death. These campaigns likewise slowed the ability of the Persian forces to open a second front to the west. The official strategy of the Italian army would be to protect the city of Odessa from conquest by the Dzugar Union. This meant that the line was to remain purely defensive as "not one inch of ground" was to be lost. The Slavic soldiers would remain entrenched as the Persians made their approach, only getting into firefights with Persians who managed to get within the range of the standard issue Carcano Rifles. Italian Sturmtrooper Divisions, however, would use the cover of artillery, heavy bombers, and nightfall to raid villages that laid beyond the frontlines which resulted in multiple close quarters firefights with Persian soldiers that took refuge within these villages. The soldiers, armed with Mosin Nagants and clunky SMGs if they were lucky, would be slain by the superior mobility and firepower of the Sturmtroopers armed with M1918 Beretta SMGs (The same SMGs that murdered the political martyr of the Union, Alexi Disenko). These raids would play crucially on the phycology of the Persian forces as they suffered loss after loss in small quarters combat.

The bombing campaigns by Caproni Heavy Bombers would be slowed by the introduction of Russian Fighters into the mix. In reaction to the use of Neuport 17s, 15 Ansaldo A.1 Balilla fighters would be introduced into the front and would be used as escort for the heavy bombers as the bombing campaigns began to ramp back up. This use of fighter escorts would result in some of the first major dog fights of modern aviation. The Ansaldo A.1, capable of max speeds of 140 miles per hour, severely outclassed the speed of the Neuport 17 (capable of 110 miles per hour) whilst sacraficing ease of use. These dog fights would usually prove undecisive among the two fighters however they enabled the heavy bombers the necessary time needed to drop their payloads and return to the front. These bombing campaigns would continue to plague the creation of counter frontlines by the Persian Forces as deaths from the campaigns rapidly increased.

The war goal of protecting Odessa from Dzugar invasion would result in the Black Sea Fleet moving towards the coast line of the city as a deterent against an amphibious assault. The Second Mediteranian Fleet (Consisting of two Andrea Doria Class Battleships and 15 gunboats) would enter into the Black Sea from the Turkish Straights. This manuver would be done in order to bolster the Italian naval prescense in the black sea as well as to deter the remains of the Dzugar navy from engaging the superior battleships in naval combat. The Battleships near Odessa, mindful of the threat that enemy submarines could have on naval combat, would employ several tactics to help curtail them in combat. The battleships had been equipped with ASDIC technology which used the sound produced by submarines under water to detect them. Likewise, gunboats and battleships would be equipped with depthcharges that would be dropped into the sea upon detection of submarines.

Reconnaissance planes were now finding it increasingly difficult to continue flights over the Odessa front due to the Italian fighter plane arrivals. One thing was certainly clear, the Dzugar-Kaemenid forces were vastly outnumbered, under equipped, and hard pressed advancing the front line against the Fascist's and Ukrainian nationals that support them- forcing them to begin defensive posturing. This was certain even without the reports from the recon planes, vast amounts of balkan troops still pouring in from Romania was the last vague report available. Chekist commissars now began suppressing battle reports from the infantry commanders to ensure morale.

The southern force had found themselves rushing out in waves under fire to continue digging trench lines next to fallen comrades that were wounded or dead. Many men injured, would die right there in the trench as the priority was to dig in rather than send wounded back. The Kaemenid forces largely affected by the loss of life began to detest the Italian foe, seeing so many of their country men dying.

A no man's land far and wide, troops found themselves frog hopping to dug out craters and slowly expanding them beyond the reserve line trench to advance forward while their comrades popped up and down to fire. The bombers plagued the movements while howitzers howling through the sky created their own craters of earth and flesh. Word of reinforcements to keep on the push were so common the men began not to care. Forward was their only thought at this point. These fucking dogs were going to pay for every death.

Commanders were informed by runners at which points the trench line was able to advance and directives would go out to saturate them with men to strengthen the positions. Sturmtroopers would reach a point that advancing without full waves to cover the entire line would only lead to them unwittingly advancing into encirclement scenarios. Like a curvy snake, the Kaemenid trench line would feature forward position made from or merely resembled howitzer craters.

Meanwhile, officers through pragmatism, ordered groups to attempt to map out sections, 5 positions along the trench were organized into 'zones'. Granted, the quality and communication of these mappings were far from premium, it provided the southern fronts HQ semi-percievable advances and ability to plan or coordinate machine gun placements. The shrinking of the no man's land underway, reports that General Tarkhov, the reserves, and the peasant green armies were en route to reinforce the souther position.

With a tenth of the men already lost, this was good news. The southern front General, Saleh, was ordered to bear the brunt for as long as possible and was in desperate need for relief forces. Trench forces were reporting the shortcomings of the Avtomat SMG against the Italian SMG, but went to creating instances of scavenging the Italian SMG from the few fallen sturmtroopers to be sent back to Karkhov and further for examination in Petrograd.

76mm field guns would even out the distance with the obice da howitzer used by the Fascist's. Despite this, the Dzugar initially believed they would not to need to utilize the limited 152mm siege gun M1910, due to Dzugar disruption within Ukranian target cities but now... The Kaemenid would recieve the artillery support. Falling in from the reserve line, the 8mile siege guns would set behind the rear line and begin to pound away at 2 rounds per minute. The southern front recieved 10 of these artillery pieces from the 30 deployed to Ukraine.

General Saleh didn't need to report the Nieuport failings to cease the Italian bombers, as the survivors would do that on their own. Konstantin Akashov, head of the peasant and workers air fleet would authorize a full 3rd of the airforce fighters to be deployed to Ukranian airfields, 80 in total, most equipped with steel flechettes capable of attacking ground targets and 10 Sikorsky Ilya Muromet bombers. Akashov argued to the Politburo, immense gains were marginally profitable on the front if the Italians would be forced to withdraw air support for fear of loss of either money or standing assets. It was clear only numbers could defeat the present circumstance. As many more planes that could be made operable of the older models, other planes were stripped. However, Akashov rushed testings on a new Dzugar fighter.

The Punch

The Western army would position itself just 45 miles from the city of Odessa. Even without this knowledge, the Dzugar friendly Ukrainians would make it very apparent that the city of Odessa was already communist friendly. Despite oppressive action, the Fascist's would find it difficult to determine who is who, and risk crack downs on normal people, furthering the discontent of the occupation. Factory workers and peasants of the various coalition factions would begin to make it very difficult and refuse to cooperate. Occasional disruptions and sabotage scenarios would start to become common place.

Drawing attention away from the front by protesting and swarming both Ukranian nationalist forces and the balkan army. At times they would take glass bottles filled with oil and rag or gasoline and lobbed from windows and alleys onto fascist equipment and stockpiles. Rocks and bricks would be thrown by children of these revolutionaries to harass the Fascist's. The Ukranian chekists who had already made it to the city insisted on these flaming thrown weapons at night to start fires and deprive the enemy of sleep. Munitions and food, cars and transports, anything identifiably military. Ukranian nationals would be hard pressed between their own people and siding with the Balkan army.

The first push against the Fascist's Western line would be an all out offense of the combined arms available to the Dzugar-Kaemenid army. 40 of the Nieuport planes and 5 bombers would precede the advance. Half of the nieuport would escort the bombers while the following 20 would follow behind with 2 strafe runs against the bombed fascist line. At which point, 3 predetermines points of pressure to achieve a break through of the line would be undertaken by the cavalry batallions, then followed by hopeful infantry penetration. Each wave consisted of 2,000 men, committing a total of 3 waves to each break through point- totalling totalling 18,000 men- all identical to one another. During this attack, the rear reserve would immediately rush to form a trench defence in the event of failure and set out artillery deployments and MG nests.

The wave composition would be 600 cavalry rushing the line after the planes strafe the ground. In the event of a break through by the cavalry, they're instructed to flank west to cut off the possibility of enclosement. Following this, the penetrating infantry are to flood the trench line and manuevre east. Grenadier platoons armed with Avtomat MGs would split themselves into trench clearing and advancing further toward artillery positions making grand use of grenades, causing disruption to cease the bombardment of the field advance of rear waves.

The Red army, despite being under equipped would put an all out offensive on the West, committing to a set strategy to puncture the fascist defence. The southern forces depended on this success and the commissars made sure to let it be known.

Odessa, Ukraine

Catallo stared at the Beretta that sat on the table in front him as the train swayed back and forth of the hilly tracks of the Balkans. He remembered back to the strange comradery that he found within Disenko and further he remembered the moment he plunged his knife into Disenkos soft neck. Catallo was a firm believer in the ideals of social Darwinism which stated that only those who kill will be gifted the keys of the future. This ideal is what drove him and Giunta to commit the horrendous act that had occurred in Rome. Catallo reached out and grabbed the Beretta, placing it into his empty holster, completing him in a way. The train would suddenly come to a stop as it arrived in a small village just south of Odessa, Ukraine. Catallo stood and stepped out of the train with the aura of Caesar with him as he was met by several other officers that led him into the train station. The train itself, and several subsequent trains, carried the Cohort of Sturmtroopers that had been put under Catallos command in Rome. The mission of these Sturmtroopers was simple.... Neuter Odessa.

Catallo would lead his troops into the city of Odessa and begin a grand campaign of raiding every residence regardless of their expected political preference or opinion on the war. Those found to be harboring criminals, possessing weapons, possessing communist literature, or anything vaguely related to the Dzugar movement would be arrested and shot within the streets regardless of their innocence. Weapons and literature were to be immediately destroyed in this campaign as to stop the threat of further uprisings. Catallo would likewise root out members of the Odessa Communist Party and would hang them publicly for their crimes against the state of Ukraine. Weapons stockpiles and warehouses would likewise be raided by sturmtroopers and black market arms dealers would find a shallow grave right next to the decaying bodies of communists. Catallo had declared his own war on the city of Odessa as the real war raged on to the north.

The Defensive

Image

A limited number of Ansaldo A.120 Reconnaissance planes would make it to the front line by the time of the street riots that had begun to plague the city of Odessa. These planes would immediately begin flying short missions to locate and report back of troop movements to the west. Three of the five planes would be promptly shot out of the sky by Dzugar fighter planes however the success of the other two planes in reporting the western movements of the enemy army would prove crucial to the war effort. This information would be confirmed by the info gathered during bombing campaigns in the west by Ansaldo A.1 Fighter and Caproni Heavy Bombers. In reaction to this development, Caproni Heavy Bombers would be grounded as fighters began daily interception routes along the western portion of the front where the enemy build up had earlier began in anticipation for an expected land and air campaign in the area. Nearly 30 Ansaldo Fighters had been brought to the front line by hopping from airbase to airbase until they arrived in Ukraine. MG crews, using the FIAT Revelli Model 1914 MG, would begin to quickly set up crude positions throughout the western portion of the front. These positions would be constructed out of basic sandbags and the earth itself which would provide little protection from what was coming in the next few days. Field Gun Crews would slowly move into position within entrenchments of similar construction. Infantryman would also begin setting up Stokes Style Mortars that would be used for the delivery of a weapon that many officers saw as the saving grace of Odessa.

The buzzing of engines could be heard as the bombers and fighters of the Dzugar Union came within miles of the Italian line. Ten of the Ansaldo A.1s would be in the sky ready to counter act the attack aircraft as those on the ground quickly scrambled their planes including the two remaining Ansaldo A.120s whose pilots would introduce a tactic that had yet to be conceived as most would dismiss it as insane. The first ten aircraft, using superior speed, were capable of intercepting the Dzugar aircraft before they reached the frontlines as the other 20 used their speed to quickly gain altitude followed by the A.120s. The presence of unarmed A.120 planes likely disorientated the Dzugar Forces as they set their sights directly on the much slower bombers. In a cataclysmic reaction, the A.120s rammed themselves straight into bombers. This strategy resulted in two of the four Dzugar bombers being turned into bomb themselves as the crashes cause extreme amounts of engine and wing damage to the aircraft. The aircraft would spiral out of control before landing in the middle of no mans land. The A.1s would continue to make fast strafing runs against the bombers however the mobility of the Dzugar planes resulted in numerous A.1s crashing down with the aforementioned bombers. Ultimately, two of the bombers would make it to the front line and would exact carnage upon certain sections which resulted primarily in the deaths of infantrymen due to the inability of the planes of the time to hit small strategic targets with accuracy. The A.1s would pull back upon seeing the manuvers of the rear Dzugar planes who readied themselves for the planned strafing runs. The A.1s would fly towards the planes with reckless abandon as vickers machine guns pounded away. Several Dzugar planes would fall but the majority would succeed at the strafing runs against the trench line resulting in countless more deaths of Italian Infantrymen. The A.1s would continue to combat the Dzugar aircraft as they headed back towards the Dzugar trenches.

Confused and disorganized, the remains of MG and field artillery crews (aided by the substitution of normal infantrymen into those roles), rushed back into position as the cavalry could be seen about a mile out. Officers would blow whistles throughout the line prompting all soldiers to equip standard issue gas masks that would seal their faces and throats from the coming last ditch effort to protect the line. Mortar teams would immediately fire hundreds of small shells (supplemented by howitzer teams further back firing shells of a much higher caliber but with the same payload) within the vicinity of the approaching horseman which would explode and emit a fog of oily gas that would be inhaled by both the rider and the horse. It would likewise bond with the skin of the horses, burning it and causing them to reject their riders as they ran in blind frenzy of pain... sometime even trampling their former riders. The gas would cause the riders themselves immense pain as it stripped their mucous membrane and caused internal bleeding. The riders faces would burn as the oil attached itself to their skin, causing further intense pain. To add insult to injury, MG teams would blindly fire a hail of bullets into the gas killing both horse and man as they panicked for breathable air. The advancing Dzugar infantry, who moved behind the cavalry, would realize a similar fate as the gas from heavier artillery shells bounded the no mans land. The MG crews would halt as Sturmtrooper divisions advanced into the no mans land under cover of the lingering gas and the constant barrage of it on the opposing side. Using M1918 SMGs, the Sturmtroopers would kill any Persian found alive before rushing back to the trenches with gruesome trophies such as the dismembered ears and fingers of the Dzugar. The line had been held but at what cost?

Blood is thicker than water

It wasn't Koba who became frenzied with rage at the news of the Ukranian front. Koba, an authoritarian bent on power had already made use of gas to quell peasant rebellions in the motherland. From this he knew full well its capacity to end conflicts. It was Persian-Kaemenid premier, Ahmad Sabri, who's eyes burnt red with anger and teared with revenge. He had designated his brothers to the Ukrainian front so that they would be shining examples of the revolutionary armed forces and return home to share the glories... Not to return battered, scarred, blind, and mangled from chemical artilleries with stories of their body parts as mere trophies for an enemy! A flurry of letters and petitions from the Kaemenid premier arrived to the Comintern, the commissariats, and Koba himself from not only Sabri, but other branches of the Kaemenid demanding retribution. In all of this chaos, Koba again had seen an opportunity.

With Disenko's demise fresh in the mind of the revolutionaries, Koba was short a mad dog. A mad dog Sabri insisted to play the part. Initially, the goal to streamline Persian KSA was a full success based on the Eastern fronts victories and certainly provided means to transfer this morale and set skills back to the training corps in Iran. Further news of the atrocities committed by the Fascist's would inspire a level of fanaticism unimaginable to Koba. People in both Iran and Russia Proper, as well as the minority States took to the streets in anger and anguish at the radio delivery of the crimes committed. Everyone demanding "justice."... Or revenge it seemed.

Koba took it upon himself to impose a plethora of strict plans and undertakings regulated by his loyal administrators posted in the various commissariats to quickly make Russia and its counterparts industrial power houses, an almost total war posturing with a surprising twist of public favor. In addition to this, a promise to his dear Ahmad Sabri... A revenge served cold to the Fascist regime. Petar Ollusuvanovic, the Chekist given responsibility to establish a Persian Cheka branch would be suggested to return to Russia to assume the command of the Cheka after Disenko's death. However he was to nominate with peer approval, a 1st commissar of the Kaemenid Cheka umbrella. A secret police force referred to as "Iztaya", would be commandeered by an exceptionally cruel and practical man, Esfahani Iblis. The reason behind Ollusuvanovic's return was to consolidate the oversight of Disenko's GPU military special forces and the Cheka, to maintain order and create a joint state political directorate across the Dzugar-Kaemenid Union states. This umbrella would be referred as OGPU, and the persian Iztaya branch an independent appendage of the umbrella while the term "Chekist" remained for secret police elements in the Union.

The industrial reforms of the year past would be coined as 'light handed' when compared to the staggering quotas and resource allocations of the current date. The OGPU and Iztaya would begin to severely suppress opposition to the war effort and title anyone as not only counter revolutionaries but sprinkled treason wherever labor and effort began to wane. Not only the factories East of the Urals churned but also factories West of them began to spring up in favor of this industrialization. The previous opposition of the peasants now turned into invigorated patriotism and assisted in stifling the efforts of collective farming. Propaganda delivered in war time context now had the perfect scape goat to give face to as news of the Fascist atrocities spread to every nook and cranny of the Union. All states from Russia, Iran, and the minorities experienced excited fervor to invigorate the military to ensure such acts were never experienced again and all hailed to the glory of communism. Everybody could be heard cheering for communism's counter attack because all those that opposed it were now finding themselves in labor camps across the Union, silenced by their re-education through labor.

Of Disenko's lasting legacy, the military branch of the GPU, a special force equivalent of the Sturmtroopers of Italy would now swell to full capacity as the finest soldiers of the Red army were allocated to its divisions. However, those previously stationed GPU loyalists of Disenko would find themselves promoted to political commissar's of the newly created divisions or placed into entire divisions themselves to ensure a consistent level of political intelligence remained in the 'special forces' or the units they commanded. The reformation of the military in Russia experiencing competent and skillful supplements to their units on a platoon level.

This development was dwarfed however by a young man within the Union. Aimo Lahti, a well-respected 25-year old firearms whizzkid first started work on the Suomi-konepistooli at the middle of 1920. While a few pistol caliber handheld submachine guns had come from the great war, few had seen any combat. Lahti and his team looked at Hugo Schmeisser’s German-built Bergmann M18 for reference after a cache had been recieved by the German socialists and garnered insights from what was interpreted as that gun’s short comings. Now, prototype Suomis were sent to the field for testing. Some 375 units produced for R&D would be deployed among 3 GPU companies to the front and were en route. Companies of fully armed and equipped Dzugar soldiers in Black Great coats would soon find themselves the poster boys of the Union.

Image
The gun was a simple blockback design that used a spring-loaded bolt to shorten the action. A 12.4-inch rifled barrel coupled with a one-piece wooden stock gave the gun an overall length of 34-inches. With thick milled steel parts instead of stampings and wood instead of plastics, the gun was heavy at just over ten pounds unloaded. This bulk helped mute the felt recoil of the gun’s 9x19mm parabellum round, especially when ripping them off at 750 rounds per minute from an open bolt. A slotted heat shield and a quick change barrel option, almost unheard of on anything but a heavy machine gun, kept overheating down.

The Ukranian Front

The Fascist's 1st Balkan army would experience what they would most likely interpret as a down turn of action. The first wave and the introduction of gas weapons made it evident that the second and 3rd waves would be ineffective and useless- hence abstaining in pressing forward. The Dzugar line seemed un enthusiastic about pressing further. The Peasant and Workers air force would be the only branch present to seem willing to spring forth and that was only to discourage bombing runs and air raids. It would be as if the Dzugar were now settled in and firm on taking a defensive posture.

For days and days, reactions and fire fights would only resume at the behest of any Balkan army provocation. There were multiple reasons for this, firstly Kaemenid Auxiliaries were being replaced by fresh Russian reserves from General Takharov's forces and trenches were being reinforced and somewhat remodelled by more experience men. Layers and edgings were being carved out to give favorable positions to the Dzugar line, trimmed with barbed wire hedges and machine gun nests. The previous war experience of gas meant that gas masks were stockpiled and were now being distributed to the line, previously excluded from load out due to relations with the previous beligerants, the Germans. The long awaited stale mate of trench warfare was here. Losses to the small garrisoned force was no longer deemed acceptable as Koba had not considered the trained and well armed forces of the Fascist's intervening and was dead set on retaining the gains in Ukraine.

The mobilisation of 100,000 Russians from Yuchkagrad were sent with explicit commands to replace and hold the line. While at the same time being properly equipped, they brought with them something else entirely... A plan proposed to Sabri by Koba himself from an unexpected source, a justified repercussion to be insisted by the Persian premier, the very promise of revenge. (will follow up after my navy maneuvering).

To further supplement and reinforce KSA morale, a joint operation of returning Irani forces coupled with minority regiments from Taganrov, Yeysk, and Taman would coordinate with the Iranis via the sea of Azarov. Exempt of a fascist presence, they would enter the sea by light boats from Russia proper and acqusitioned from Ukrainian docks and set out to begin occupying the Crimean peninsula itself in swarm, preceded first by common clothed Dzugar soldiers that would infiltrate every city prior to KSA arrival. Landing in Kerch and hopping from Genichesk over the lake Ozero, KSA forces would blitz to Yevpatoria and sweep down to Sevastapol. Quickly over running the barely defended peninsula bringing feodosiya and Yalta from Kerch, the Dzugar occupation would surround Simferpol and demand a Surrender. Some 70,000 troops in total, 40,000 of which are returning KSA veterans from Ukraine that were being replaced by Dzugar Russians on the Ukranian front.

The Union was experiencing a full mobilisation of all fore front City garrisons and would be ready to pour out like hornets from a hive- A hive decorated in propaganda, doused in a gasoline of pure revenge.

At the very same time, the coast of Odessa and the Italian fleet in the black Sea would no longer go unmolested. The night would be dark and skies would be clear when the 4 submersibles at the van of the Dzugar Black Sea fleet approached. Initially at sea level, it wouldn't be difficult for the emerged vessel's periscopes to identify the docks and the Italian behemoths at its sentry. The diesel electric engines hummed as they approached and entered the bay, gliding at a low speed of 8 knots. The crews of the Bars class submarines were navy veterans of the Kronstadt baltic fleet sent to replace navy men and spread the good of communism in the black Sea fleet after wrangels fleet was taken back, also dismantling the discontent of any of their comrades. Greatly experienced in Naval warfare from both rebellions and the Great war, they loaded the torpedo drop collars of their submarines and eerily observed their prey from a distance.

Image

Like serpents in the brush, the Bars slithered at a barely detectable rate so that their payloads were in justifiable distance just beyond 2000 yards. Lined in a disciplined formation, the sailors aboard the Italian vessels would be woken with a grim ensemble of hisses. Fortunately the silhouettes of the large italian vessels were easier to identify against the dark horizon dimly lit by the fire of war. The random chance of gun boat deployment may have blanketed a few torpedoes on their matriarch's behalf but the sheer volume would guarenteed carnage.

The internalised hulls would fire their payloads of 4 torpedoes while the 8 drop collars aboard ever submarine would spring forth in tandem. The white lines of broken sea would ignite the dark body of ocean water as the Mark VIII torpedos hissed across the water at 35 Knots in symphonized volleys at different targets. 48 torpedos would let fly into the Black Sea fleet of the Italians and the hit and run tactics would be fully implemented as the Russians quickly reloaded their Hull batteries and submerged into the depths of the bay attempting to make their escape.

Bittersweet Revenge

After the gas attacks of the first Balkan army, the resentment of the enemy was universal, even so among the friendly Ukranian communists beyond fascist occupation. General Takharov was approached by a platoon commander who had a brief discussion with a peasant that hailed from Western Ukraine. This man, asking not to be named out of fear of the annals of history would suggest a grim recourse for the atrocity committed by the now swelling numbers of Fascists occupying his country and persecuting his fellow Ukranian comrades. General Takharov had listened to the platoon commander but was struck with an abhorrent fear of action should he entertain without Koba's blessing. To his surprise however, Koba had proposed this ordeal to the Persian premier who then ordered his very own general on the Ukranian front to see it come to fruition by petitioning the Russian General Takharov. The KSA General Saleh, had pleaded for no less than an hour and adhered to his Russian compatriot to do justice onto those that sullied the honor and death of their brothers. It took not but a day for Koba, Sabri, Takharov, and Saleh to agree in full that if such an atrocity were to be committed, it must be done so with the utmost haste before any foreign intervention was to take notice to the Ukranian war.

The industrialization of the Union even prior to the harsher reforms only just made had brought about unprecedented amount of arsenical waste from steel and munitions manufacturing- tons of it. Already loaded into barrels to be either repurposed or disposed of, it would be loaded into the rail lines and brought forward with the GPU battalions only to find itself stockpiled with the Ukranian front reserves. Akashov, the air forces 1st commissar would be instructed to bring air conflicts to a climax and guarenteed the first Balkan army's inability to fly recon planes in safety and ensure air dominance as best they could. The defensive posturing of the trench line would indicate the Dzugar Kaemenid commitment to hold their ground but also that they would die with rifles in hand at any attempt to break their lines.

As the GPU battalions reached the trench front fully equipped, the rear reserve would see to it that any and all means of transportation, whether it be armored car, truck, horse and carriage or carts pulled by the men would bring these barrelled drums of waste north West beyond the wars eyes and ears in between both the Ukranian war front of Fascists and also the broken remnants of the Central Rada. Not but a week after the first atrocity committed would yet another, meant to dwarf the gas would be committed.

The Ukranian peasant, beyond capable of understanding just how far the ramifications would go... He suggested that the River Dniester be tainted at the foot of Moldova just east of Chisinau where the Ukranian border was slimmest with the river. As the drinking water source for Odessa and conveniently the entire line of the Fascist's front. The subsidiary bodies of water used in wartime to clean, drink, and eat would be introduced to the very soluble and transparent arsenic waste and introduce the trophy grabbing Fascists what just desserts tasted like.

The only indication of this taint would be the scores of dead fish, much of which washed ashore or would be taken as 'free lunch' by unoccupied peasants or troops long after the consequences proved fatal.

Koba and the comintern dined on roasted pigeon, sipped French Red, and smoked cigars as they awaited word from Takharov and Saleh. They did this knowing that a hundred thousand Fascists among others would be choking on their pride. Others would just choke and die, but it only mattered that Fascists paid because, well... Its what the people wanted. The tears of those who had fallen brothers and fathers would wash away this sin.

Earthly Deviations

It can be considered that Man, for much of his history, has remained in the dark. Tribes of the old would tell tales of how spirits influenced the winds, how the cyclones tear through the earth, and objects of mystical, otherworldly power. Though as mankind continued to grow, evolve, the Globe became less illusive, the torches we lit warded the shadows away as our spears became swords, and swords became bayonets affixed to the barrel of a gun. Human Society is built on a concept of understanding. As our understanding of the world progresses, we grow more able to do our own bidding to the Earth. We conquered the globe, transformed stones into housing, turned remains into energy to fuel the machine of progress. Though, where there is light there is also a shadow cast upon the floor, in the corners of what would be a bland room. Our World may not be all that it seems to us after all, despite how much we feel like we know. Not everything will follow what we consider "natural law", just because it can. The strongest evidence being die Adweichler, or Deviants. Beings and Objects that would, to an average person, defy our scientific understanding. There origins are unknown, as many are the subject of various tales and folklore told by our forefathers, only to be dismissed as fiction, a product of the human mind alone. Though, that is far from the truth. Many of these tales were once warnings to our offspring, to ensure their safety in darker times. But now, Humanity has progressed beyond the age of the Sword and Shield, and now these beings, these deviations of nature are being hungrily eyed upon the power hungry and the corrupt. Scattered across the globe, if left undisturbed, one may find a Deviant with reference to a common tale, a map, and a good eye. The accessibility to these artifacts is alarming, to say the least, as Germanic Europe is rife with such objects, the Scandes Mountains being one of the hot spots of the Earth for such phenomenon. Of course, the awareness of the Deviants has been rather dubious, but that is for good reason. Beneath the cogs and gears of the Civilian Government another layer to the State would be present, occupying the same shadows as these Deviants. In Germany's history, there have been several attempts to establish a successful "container" to the Deviants, with varying degrees of success, the most recent one being the pre-revolutionary Thule Society. As the Workers, Soldiers, and Peasants overthrew the old order, the Thule Society was quickly extinguished. In it's place the Abweichendes Institut von Deutschland (Deviant Institute of Germany) would take up the reigns of the Thule Society in the Examination, Study, and Normalization of these Deviant Entities, seeking to guide the eyes of the public away and to create a productive, beneficial, and safe method of their utilization and integration to their society. The A.I.D remains illusive to those public figures who know of it's presence, but only 2 years after it's inception it has become the hidden twine in the net of German Society, as multiple Front Companies act as a method of resource and financial gain for the organization, and it's area of operation has expanded beyond Germany itself, reaching into what is traditionally Germanic Europe, territories involving the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Scandinavia, utilizing hidden or disguised facilities to retain Deviants from those who become too curious. For now it shall remain in the shadows, but as the European Order begins to crack under the weight of new ideologies, it's hand may be forced upon the world, making an explosive entry to the global stage.

The War of Theses

Ukraine and Belarus
Germany, to say the least, was late to the show compared to their larger ally. Transportation and Equipping took a longer period of time then anticipated in order get the forces perpared and organized for such an offensive, as an apology from the Congress has been sent to the Dzugar governance due to the lateness. Heading for Ukraine and Belarus would be the 4 proto-mechanized Divisions to create a spearhead into the Reactionary Territories in order to provide a breakthrough, where the other 8 Infantry Divisions would fan out and spread at an even pace, the main goal being to encircle front line Reactionary troops and destroy their Western Fighting ability in order to bring a relatively quick capitulation to the two largest opponents in the East, the 1st and 2nd Mechanized Divisions heading straight to Chernivsti and Zhytomyr in Ukraine, 3rd and 4th creating a path to Pinsk and the Dzyarzhynsk Hill, as Minsk was envisioned as a part of the Dzugar Partition. Following close behind them would be the Infantry Units, which would mop up other resistance and secure the surrounding territory. The Congressional Polish Government, as requested by the Dzugar, would make appeals to remaining Polish Units in the East to lay down their arms, as the core of Poland has been under German control since the Empire, though it was granted autonomous status with the rise of the Congress. German Forces would work closely with Leftist Sympathizers in the region, as the German Wave crossed the borders Congressional Sections were formed for each state that was to fall under the Red Tide during this Operation. Closer to Berlin, the Mobilization Order was put into a higher priority, as the 50 Division Plan has been completed, and the raising of a reserve was ordered to be mobilized in order to provide the manpower necessary to keep divisions at full strength throughout combat, an envisioned total a personnel number of 1.3 Million within the following year as the chance for war in Europe would dramatically increase with this sweeping war. The hopes were to link up to with the Dzugar within the next two weeks as predicted a majority of the Opposing Forces would be tied up with the Dzugar, so these territories could be split up according to the proposal during the Congress. News of the effective declaration of war by the Southern Fascists has caused a serious tear in the Congress, the Scabs and Burns of the Great War have just begun to fall, revealing the scar tissue of the healed skin of the nation, but as the country turned from Imperial to Red, a revived spirit would be spread across the nation, as support for the vision of a Red World would begin to be implanted within the minds of the people, and the Congress, as the vote to join the Dzugar in the war was slimly passed by a mere 23 votes in a 600 Seat Reichstag. A majority of these forces, upon the completion of the assault, would link up with their allies near Odessa to provide a strong defensive and offensive combined force, and supply lines would be established through the Ukrainian Territories so alongside the German Forces, the Dzugar Forces shall be equipped and supplied with German Equipment upon request or need. Reserves of Fokker D.VII Aircraft would be sent east alongside the German Advance to help provide much needed cover to the Dzugar.
The Baltics
As a majority of the German Force would be dedicated to Ukraine and White Russia, 4 Divisions would be left to cross into Lithuanian and Latvian Territories, as orders have been made to allow the Stormtrooper Brigades to form a three prong assault deep through Lithuanian Territory to the Latvian Border, where they would occupy the cities of Zarasai, Siaulia, and Mazeikiai, where they would wait for the secondary wave of Infantry to mop up any resistance and to let what frontline there might be to stabilize. From there an assault across the Latvian border to the cities of Ventspils, Riga, and Jekabils to complete the Baltic Assault, as the territories involved with the front would allow a Baltic Autonomous State to be formed, and further divided along Latvian and Lithuanian administration, and upon completion of the Offensive these forces shall be diverted southwards towards Odessa to continue to aid the operations in Ukraine.
The Alps
The one thing hostilities with Italy will cause is immediate and speedy deployment of Alpine Divisions in order to secure, seal, and protect the borderlands from any enemy excursions into German territory and, if necessary, launch attacks when needed. The fact that a nation that was on the opposite spectrum of Politics was already cause for concern, as there has been heavy mistrust in the Fascist Regime in Italy since it's inception and expansion across Southern Europe. This has caused a construction of fortifications not unlike the ones on the opposite side of the border, and as well as alike to the Swiss Reinforcements they have prepared in their own country. Pillboxes, Sniper nests, Concrete Bunkers, Machine Gun Positions, Artillery and Trenches would be generously scattered across the border, as major infrastructure lines were rigged to blow if the enemy ever pushed far enough to warrant such action. A sight just alike to the Great War just a few miles west at the westernmost points. 75,000 Austrian and German Men would man these fortifications, Alpenjagers, highly trained and capable in the harsh conditions the Alps threw at them. Heavy Supply lines from Munich and Stuttgart would be set up, as Gotha G.V Heavy Bombers and Fokker D.VII Fighters would be sent off from their respective airbases to secure German Airspace and ensure as much intel as possible could be gathered on Fascist positions. War has once more come to Germany.

Across the North Sea

Greetings and Salutations,
Through actions of the Great War our states have entered a period of hostility that has never to this day been adequately resolved. We wish on our part to bring to your attention a willingness for open discussion and debate so that we may negotiate a long reaching and long lasting end of hostilities among our peoples. For your part our request are simple:

1. Recognition of Franco-German border pre-1870.
2. A pledge not to interfere in Belgian affairs nor to station troops along their border indefinitely.
3. A reopening of British-German relations as well as previous financial investments that may still be applicable.

A request for diplomatic action from the Togerian Republic has been made known to the Congress of Germany, as well as teams of 5 people entering Berlin and Vienna, arguably some of the most significant cities for the German People. These Togerian representatives would be welcomed into Germany without trouble, as a chance to negotiate and resolve peace with their overseas neighbor can turn out well for both ends of the negotiation table. These two teams would be met by Congress-Appointed teams of 4 Congressional Representatives in order to meet the request of open discussion to negate and end hostilities between the Togerian and German people. The Three Requests would be met without much trouble by the teams, as they would discuss with themselves upon what course of action shall be taken, and in Berlin and Vienna, they would come to practically the same conclusion. Belgium remained a subject of disinterest to the Congress, so a pledge to not interfere with Belgian matters or Position Military Assets along the border unless either the opposing party makes actions that directly threaten the German Union State. The Franco-German Border was a more debated issue between the members of each team, as it contained a hearty amount of German Blood within it's provincial borders, and Grandfathers and Great Grandfathers fought for the land that they thought was rightfully theirs, but it would come down to an agreement of such, the Franco-German border shall be maintained as it is, unless action is requested by the ethnic Germans within French Borders, such as a plebiscite, so they could determine their own fate. Investments would come thin as the revolution has stripped many industrial assets from their owners and handed ownership to Trade Unions, but where applicable, namely in North Sea Ports, such investments shall be reopened to Togerian Investors. Reopening relations between the two parties would be deemed as necessary to prevent the spread of conflict across Europe and to help maintain peace between nations that remain uninvolved.
