This is a Post-Modern Tech, Horror-themed roleplay with a healthy mix of Military Thriller and Dystopic elements. Managed solely by yours truly, Vanq, the roleplay is beginner friendly with the only requirement being neat character applications. All war is a symptom of man's failure as a thinking animal - John Steinbeck The Livestream The government has called it the 'Forbidden Zone' but it is known as 'The Wasteland' by the Vanquarian people, both terms are names for the massive region of once populated land that felt the power of an atomic bomb dropped by the Anowans during WW2 that ultimately ended the war. And for so many decades it has been abandoned, by its own government and by the outside world. However, on the 6th of September, a group of foreign adventurers daringly live-streamed their exploration into the outskirts of the Wasteland. To have arrived there, they filmed themselves bypassing numerous checkpoints set up by the Vanquarian military, culminating in a footchase which ended in the recorded scene of Vanquarian soldiers, donning gas-masks and automatic rifles, ceasing their chase for the adventurers and simply staring at them before they strode back to their checkpoint. The young men and women, numbering 8 in total, are seen to be wondering aloud why they were let go so quickly but they nonetheless venture deeper into the Forbidden Zone as the sky above darkens... 35 minutes into their night-time walk through a forest of blackened husks that were once trees, an abnormal scream pierces through the fog and the viewer's connection quickly blackens. For those that take the time to pause and enhance the recording's final moments, there can be seen a shape behind one of the dead trees...a humanoid shape. The Call The recording of the adventurer's has stirred international panic and interest into what lays within the Wasteland of Vanquaria. However, anyone wanting access into the Wasteland faces 1 major obstacle; the Vanquarian government. The Vanquarian government has evolved from the fascist dictatorship it was in WW2 to become an imperialistic regime regarded as one of the Great Powers of the world. Backed by armies of fanatical, racist troopers to advanced weaponry, their leader, Autarch Scott, has announced that members of the public attempting to gain access into the Forbidden Zone will face capital punishment if caught, in other words a public execution to serve as an example to others. However, the Vanquarian government is secretly in turmoil over what this recording means. Vanquarian special operations units have ventured into the Wasteland before, most long-term operations never succeed for commandos often end up MIA. However, those that do succeed bring back grim accounts of wolf howls when there are no wolves, occult symbols etched onto the bark of trees and a series of skeletons resembling humans but upon closer inspection, reveal a plethora of strange bone abnormalities. The last operation the Vanquarians did was 10 years ago, the special ops team that came back returned this time with a live specimen; a child. After that, all known files regarding the child have been above even the highest ranking field marshals of the military, only accessible to the Autarch himself. What is known though is that soon after that, 5 entire Armored Brigade Combat Teams were deployed around a perimeter in sight of the Forbidden Zone and a General placed in command of those units. Since then, there had been no other notable operations or events associated with the Forbidden Zone until the infiltration of the foreign adventurers into the area. The highest authorities of the Empire convened soon after the footage was made public. A week later, a phone call was made to the heads of state of the strongest nations of the world by Scott himself. The world was to assemble a team of its greatest heroes, and these heroes were to face a threat beyond anything they had ever faced in their lives.

Alex was forced to take care of himself, and survived by stealing, pickpocketing, and having some connections to the more wealthy. He managed to have himself enrolled in the Northern School of Military Tactics, where he early on showed incredible intelligence and capibility.
He graduated in 10 years, whereas most took 12, and joined the Libertaratropolin Army at the age of 16. From there, he showed a stunning resolve and ambition that carried him up the military hierarchy at an incredibly fast rate. A major by the age if 24, he directs most Libertariatropolin spywork in the nations nearby the forbidden zone.

The youngest son of an aristocratic family, the military had always been the path for him ever since he punched his older brother back for mocking him. A reckless and violent young Schein was quickly put in his place by his seniors in the military. Learning his lessons quick, he became a special ops member of the Vanquarian Secret Service, the state secret police, and earned his rank by merit in a series of combat tours in well-fucked countries composing the Middle East. His success on foreign battlefields would see him serve as a Central Protection Agent to the Autarch himself and would eventually see him lead his own battalion of SS officers against the many insurrectionist cells within Empire. An SS commando of the highest caliber, his mind has also been trained by the powerful propaganda machine of the Vanquarian Empire and consequently has sworn an oath to dedicate his life to the will of the Autarch. The Forbidden Zone had always been a taboo topic in the Vanquarian special operations community for the survivors always referred to that land as Hell on Earth. Yet Colonel Manstein cares not what lays in those lands for his Autarch has commanded him to serve and serve he will.

Biography: Alexander was born in Pripyat on April 26, 1986. On that fateful day, the Chernobyl disaster occurs, which caused a massive amount of radiation to spread out and affect the area around it. This radiation affected Lex's brain, which caused him to have a split personality. For most of his life, he was a relatively normal boy. He lived in Kiev, where he quickly took after his father and joined the police force at 18. He quickly rose through the ranks, and at the age of 22 was recommended for military and officer training by his superiors. After 5 years he was at the top of his class, and one of the best shots in all of Eastern Europa at 27. Seargent Lex and his squad were sent in to gather intel. This was supposed to be a month-long mission behind enemy lines, but Lex and his Squad went dark for an entire year. They were presumed MIA, but people of Ukraine were also surprised by the fact that Bandit raids had stopped completely during this time. Then, in late 2014, the Seargent and one of his squadmates re-appeared outside of the Exclusion zone. The sergeant seemed normal, stating that they had gotten "Carried away" and that Bandit had stopped their attacks. His squadmate had a different story though. Upon arriving, they were ambushed, and everyone except the sergeant and the soldier was killed. Then, something triggered in Lex, it was like he became a different person. He told the soldier to follow him, and for the next year, the sergeant hit outpost after outpost, slaughtering all of the insurgents inside before they realized what was happening. Now, he is a First Lieutenant, speaks fluent Ukranian and Russian, does speak English and German but with a thick accent, and has since learned how to play guitar.
