Government House, Bermuda
12:30 a.m.

Night had fallen on the island territory of Bermuda, and under the lit chandeliers of the Governor's ballroom, four hundred people danced to the tunes of a jazz band, celebrating the handover of the strategically crucial island to the US. In the courtyard outside, three companies of Marines in dress blues dispersed, taking advantage of the celebration to raid the buffet and to dance the night away. In the harbor below, the residents of Hamilton watched as the Union Jack and the colonial Bermudian flag were lowered and the US flag was raised. Fireworks shot over the island as three Zumwalt-class frigates cut through the waves into the safety of the port.
---
The federal elections were in four months; President Winston was seeking a second term, 1/3rd of the Senate and the House was in the air, and three Supreme Court judges were ailing. Seeking to take his constituents' attention off of voting for his opponents, President Goodman ordered the construction of a massive (ridiculously Trump-esque) wall on the southern border, and sent 15,000 men south to "enforce order" there.
---
Wary of the slow annexation of Austria by the burgeoning German nation and hoping to preserve a U.S.-aligned Western Europe, Washington secretly approved an occupation of France, the Low Countries, Italy, and Switzerland, in that order. Due to the non-existence of US ties with Caleonia, the military establishment hoped to contain that nation's hegemony over the European continent. 120,000 soldiers, in 60 divisions, steamed from the Azores, Bermuda, and the Eastern Seaboard for Europe as paratroopers started dropping along the German border, encountering resistance in Strasbourg, Basel, Vaduz, and Luxembourg City.
---
The unofficial US embassy in New Delhi has sent a strong letter of protest to the Rajput government, asking them to cease all nuclear tests and development for the foreseeable future, lest sanctions and asset freezes be put in place by Presidential decree. Although the President is not too happy about the tests, he cannot strongarm the government into action, due to the election season coming up.

Stephen Mackenzie Pearson sits in his office along with some of his advisers in Parliament Hill in the nation's capital. A lot of world events just happened. A lot to contemplate but nothing to worry about for his people or his nation. For regular Canadians it's just another business day. For Foreign Affairs that's a different story.

To Hyperon (United Kingdom):

Hypron wrote:We remake the Commonwealth like it was originally, but this time all nations in the Commonwealth will get formal representation from there nations in Parliament. It shall be done immediately.

I love democracy! And I love the people! The people get their power though elections which in turn follows with the seats in Parliament. Give them representation I say.

It reminds me of our general election where we blew the establishment right out of the water with our super-majority government. If we lost that election, I can say for certain there would be no Canada today but a Canada split up into other smaller nations.

To Kashtyria:

President Kusho Satukhin of the wonderful nation of Kashtyria. It looks like we agree on something. We don't want war to come to our great nations. We also support democracy and the representation of the people. Mr. Satukhin I admire that your nation is different than ours. Your government follows a different ideology; socialism for the fact, and mine Conservatism. But we will still get along greatly.

The old Canada was somewhat socialist as well until the great election that changed us. Even though we don't follow socialism anymore we as Canadians still hold it to our heart because it has shaped our past and it changed our future. Socialized Heath care is a beautiful thing and we will always keep that with our nation.

I would happily like to collaborate with you and your nation. I, Stephen Mackenzie Pearson haven't been to your part of the world yet. I believe a state visit is on the agenda for the near future.

To Mersdon (United States):

Independent Canada congratulates you on your new territory, Bermuda. We wish you enjoy the nice weather.

With the construction of a Mexican border wall the Prime Minister just would like to remind the President that we share the longest undefended border in the world. We would like it to stay that way. The United States and Canada have a long history together. Our trade and relations are one like no other. Canada and the United States are friends, buddies and almost like family. Let our relationship together last many, many more years.

Although we do notice now you have a strong presence in the Atlantic Ocean now. The Azores Islands, Bermuda and the control of the Panama Canal. Now there's noting wrong with that but I just want to make sure that Canadian sea traffic and trade won't be slowed down or impacted because of your presence and everything Canadian be allowed to proceed as normal.

The State of the Independent Canadian Military

Times have changed though in our world. Canada has become larger than the United States in terms of population and has become an even larger military power than what it once was. Back in 2019 Canada's military was not even half of a fraction in size compared to the United States. People would make jokes about our military. I still kinda do. Back in 2012 Canada had four submarines in our navy. Three of them could not dive into the sea. The one that could dive, didn't have the ability to shoot a torpedo. What a sad thing that is really.

For those nations worried about the absolute size and force of my military there is nothing to worry about. We use it for a purely defensive and peacekeeping role. I'd like to remind nations that Canada participated in many peacekeeping missions. And we still continue to whenever we can.

The reason the Independent Canadian military is so large is because it provides jobs and healthcare to our people. Our people are also proud of how big our military has gotten from what it once it. Its's more of symbolic thing than an aggressive thing. We are no longer made fun of and are taken as a serious military power now.

The Parliament of the United Kingdom of Hypron officially voted on the reinstatement of The Commonwealth of Nations, and it was a unanimous vote. The Commonwealth has been reformed between the United Kingdom of Hypron and Independent Canada. All that is required is the representatives for Parliament.

Caleonia fears this new alliance. For now, they send some troops in the Ural Division of the Army to Noumea in New Caledonia (note that this is by flight, not sailing, so it can be quite quicker) to take over the archipelago and a multitude of surrounding islands. By the end of this campaign (which should take about 3 weeks IGT), Caleonia will have conquered the Solomon Islands, New Guinea (and its surrounding islands), Vanuatu, and New Caledonia respectively..

OOC: Is there a time stamp for this or are we just going by real time? I feel like if we go by real time then this is going to go really slowly.

In fact, all of y'all are RPing pretty well. I feel this RP will be a success! :-D

IC:

Bandar Abbas, Iran

An unusually high number of troops were occupying the military base. After all, conscription had been reinstated. President Ali Ahmed, seeing the situation of the world and wanting to strengthen Iran, started a campaign that will build up the Irani military. The naval base at Bandar Abbas slowly became a base for all military branches.

As soldiers started moving there, so did civilians, seeing the opportunities that awaited there. Bandar Abbas, already an important port and provincial capital, started swelling in size.

Shiraz, Iran

Though there were protests against conscription, people were mostly happy with their government. The government met in a new governmental palace, built soon after the capital had been moved to Shiraz. There, an intense debate was occurring: how to preserve Irani sovereignty with the rapid worldwide militarization taking place.

The congresspeople passionately debated this topic. Ali Ahmed was then asked to give his stance.

"Respected congressfellows," he stated, "it is clear, as you all have mentioned, that we must embrace our strengthening IT industry (I currently have the largest and best IT industry, but this will be subject to change), our swelling military, and a resource everyone desires. However, we must also make peace with our immediate neighbors in order to make sure there is no aggression on our border."

"I would like to point out two countries: Rajputana and Kashtyria. Rajputana is the land of the Rajputs and rules the entire Indian Subcontinent. It is clear why we should ally with them. They are the only country bordering us and are at a position to interfere in our interests due to their bordering the Arabian Sea. However, they are also a land rich in culture and history and one of the world's greatest civilizations. It should be relatively easy to ally with them, after all, both of our countries possess long and proud histories and Rajputana has a significant Muslim minority which will hopefully be favorable towards us. Allying with them would not only ensure our interests, but form a significant bond between great cultures."

"As for Kashtyria, they also have a long history and rich culture. For centuries, the people of Iran have interacted with the peoples of Central Asia, forming a unique cultural system. Kashtyria is definitely promising in its future, having ousted a maniacal dictator and brought democracy to the land. Its people clearly value their culture and their freedom and are fearless, ready to do what it takes to do the right thing. In a conflict against the forces of evil, Kashtyria will be one of the first countries to stand up and fight back. They are a people who know their nation and its potential and share the patriotic spirit of us Iranis. I definitely believe we should ally with them."

"My friends, we already know to utilize our IT, military, and our secret resource, but the most important tool of all is friendship, for it is better for the health of our nation and the world to spread good rather than bad."

The congresspeople applaud and agree with the President. In the background is the Shahanshah, watching this meeting intently, positive Iran will succeed.

The session was televised all over the country.

A few hours later, alliance requests were sent to Rajputana and Kashtyria.

RP time is kind of weird, because if two people are having a conversation, each post would probably be a few minutes, while if you are taking over a place, each post would be longer.

Generally, it takes one post to call for troops, a post on troop movements (how many, how they are moved, etc.), then one post is for landing. After that, the amount of posts it takes to annex the area would depend on its size. Noumea is pretty small, so that would take one post.

Come to think of it, I might have phrased it wrong. Here is what I meant (each step is one post):
1. Call for troops.
2. Tell how they are moving (how many troops, method of transportation, etc.)(this is when they are moving).
3. Land on Noumea.
4. Annex Noumea.

Even though 4 is just one post, make it reasonably detailed.

Note from the Kashtyrian Government

We have received the messages both from Independent Canada and Iran, and we are happy that we have found allies in this huge world. More than ever there is a need for peaceful, reliable nations who share our belief that a world without war is the best world.
As Independent Canada suggested that our governments should meet in person to strenthen our alliance, we would like to invite both Independent Canada's and Iran's leaders into our capital Teshmarakh. There we can discuss about our world view and how our politics will form the world of tomorrow.

Iran accepts this invitation. Ali Ahmed books a flight to Teshmarakh for the meeting.

Meanwhile, the military base at Istanbul starts swelling with soldiers. The soldiers start going through training.

While the leader of Iran books his flight, in Independent Canada flight and ground crews are readying a modified Boeing 777-300ER for the Prime Minister's trip to Kashtyria. The plane is the Canadian version of Air Force One.

We plan on making a grand entrance as soon as the first landing gear makes contact with the runway at the airport.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Mackenzie Pearson can't wait to meet Ali Ahmed of Iran and President Kusho Satukhin for The first time.

Caleon finishes landing the troops on New Caledonia, cleared in a day, and now are conquering the Solomon Islands and all the islands apart of Vanuatu.

The Caleonians realized that this land has practically no people on it, which is why they’re easily able to conquer and assert their claim to the region.

Once complete, these islands will become an autonomous region known as Michael Waltrip.

Here we are! Under Caleonian jurisdiction, the autonomous region of Michael Waltrip is able to request embassies in other nations. As such, King Michael Curtis Waltrip XVIII (from its capital of Michael Waltrip City, located in Noumea) announces that he wants to ally with Iran in specifics, saying, “Iran and Independent Canada are definitely interesting nations that closely align with our ideological beliefs here in the land of Michael Waltrip. As such, we will fly over to Independent Canada to ally with both Iran and Independent Canada.”

He begins building an international airport from his throne.

The Netherlands is a nation that Canadians admire greatly and Vice versa. Our relationship with the Netherlands was forged during the battlefields of World War two.

A brief history lesson for those nations that don't know, Canada followed the coastline up towards Northern Germany. Along the way Canada liberated the Netherlands as well as took in their government in exile.

During one day on Parliament Hill in the nation's capital of Ottawa we raised the Dutch flag over our capital buildings. The only flag of a nation that has ever done that other than Britain.

Every spring the Dutch sends over thousands of tulip bulbs for annual Tulip festival in Ottawa.

Now the Netherlands is circled by two large nations, Catalon and some Communist union...

The government of Independent Canada promises to keep the Netherlands liberated and Independent!

Independent Canada Herby declares, it guarantees the independence of the Dutch nation of the Netherlands.

In Iran, the Congress is renamed to the Parliament because why not.

Caleonia wrote:Caleon officially announces Austria has been 100% annexed and assimilated into the nation.

A Turkish MP named Salman hears about this during a session of Congress.

"Looks like we won't be seiging the gates of Vienna anytime soon," Salman says.

The other MPs tell him to shut up. The Shahanshah says that the Austrians do not want to be in Iran, so they are not seiging Vienna.

OOC: Remember, you can only conquer one country at a time (as in, you can conquer Solomon and Vanuatu one by one, but not both at the same time). I recommend conquering Solomon first, it's larger and close to New Guinea. The good news is that since they are island countries, conquering will be pretty easy.

Michael Waltrip wrote:Here we are! Under Caleonian jurisdiction, the autonomous region of Michael Waltrip is able to request embassies in other nations. The MPs receive the message from MW. They are quite amused by the name of the region, but are also impressed at how well Caleon was able to assert its force in the area. They also notice that as King Waltrip stated, they indeed share many ideological beliefs. Given that MW is spreading through the South Pacific Islands, some MPs suggest that it will indeed be good to ally with them. After some discussion and a video call with President Ahmed, the MPs are in general agreement to accept MW's alliance request.

The Parliament sends a message to MW, stating that after the talks in Kashtyria end, President Ahmed would like to meet about the potential alliance in Shiraz.

The news spreads in Iran about the assassination. Though Iran does not have relations with Odinburgh yet, they state that they hope Odinburgh will be able to make it through these tough times.

As I am apart of a combined Commonwealth with Independent Canada, I hearby guarantee The Dutch Kingdom of the Netherlands as a independent and sovereign nation.

"Looks like we won't be annexing Netherland," says Salman.

In unison, the Shahanshah and the entire Parliament yelled:

"SHUT UP!"

Caleon, pleased by King Waltrip XVIII's actions, give him a medal of honor, and give him their recently conquered Solomons. New Guinea is next up, but they actually decide to let King Waltrip decide what to do, as he has currently shown his diplomatic abilities.'

For internal affairs with Iran and Independent Canada and the situations with Austria and Netherlands, Caleon states its reasoning for conquering Austria as, "The Austrians group of people that we appreciate and would love to have in our nation. However, we don't want to overcrowd our cities, so we took them over. We want this empire to feel like a nation, and as such people we conquer will abide by their own previous rules unless the public goes on protest. Otherwise we will put our law in their territory."

Caleon begins the renovation of the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, with intentions to make it twice as large, rename it back to the Österrichring, and host an international auto racing event within the next four years. The renovations have just broke ground and are planned to be complete in 2 and a half years.

The Michael Waltrips are pleased with this message and congratulate themselves internally.

King Waltrip XVIII orders 10,000 of his most beloved Michael Waltrip Army soldiers to conquer New Guinea via using 2 Forblaze ships & 4 Binding Blade ships he got as a part of becoming king (or kaiser according to Caleon) of his own autonomous region. He expects to have his troops set sail by tomorrow night, and should have the land conquered in about 10-15 days.

In hopes for the defense of the Canadian waters, we ask if they will allow us a naval station to dock Carrier Strike Group 2.

My government asked if we may also forge a alliance with this fine nation, and we would like to formalize talks with a state visit, if you allow it.

Independent Canada requests that the United Kingdom of Hypron be allowed to join us in our summit in the Kashtyrian capital.

If he gets accepted that would be four nations in the summit
-Iran
-Kashyria
-Canada
-Hypron

The Canadian Prime Minister's plane has taken off from the nation's capital, Ottawa. He will make sure he gets lots of rest to avoid as much jet lag as possible.

Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves. Go ahead please dock your fleet in our new navel base in St. John's Newfoundland. I assure you, you and your people will be treated so well by our Newfoundlander's and yes I am stereotyping them. They're better than our quebecois.......And it's also our closest navel base to your homeland.
