Habakkuk Carrier - Project Habakkuk

The Canadian Ministry of Defense recently announced the order of two British designed 2 King James VII class Aircraft Carrier. These carriers will serve the Canadian Navy well in the short term and supplement the Habakkuk Carrier.

What is the Habakkuk Carrier?

In World War two there was an idea to create an aircraft carrier made out of ice and wood. A material is puncture resistant and can sometimes even be better than concrete.

Canada is currently producing designs and testing proposals for a modern day version of this. If everything is successful the world should see it's first Mega Carrier. Current Estimates are is that the Carrier could potentiality carry somewhere in the range of 90 to 200 aircraft depending on how large this beast will be.
This aircraft carrier will outclasse the current conventional designs of Aircraft Carriers. We Independent Canada predict this Mega Carrier will dethrone the American Gerald R. Ford Class super carriers.

I only have 1 more question: as your government should know, my nation is holding a Strategic Arms Reduction summit in London soon, so can the cold fusion power be made into a weapon more powerful than a nuclear weapon?

Yes it can as cold fusion can be used to make a pure fusion weapon as in a hydrogen bomb could be developed which is much easier to develop in secret than existing weapons as it requires no fissile material.

Caleon's ambassador has no questions. He returns to Caleon on a private jet a day after the conferences are complete.

At home, the Lithuanian rebellion had been quietly put down. Turns out that there were only a thousand Lithuanians in revolt, so Jimmie sent them on one of the abandoned Di9 routes. Nobody knows what happened to them after that and neither does anybody care, because it makes the Prime Councilor, Ward, happy. As long as Ward is in a good standing with whatever corrupt happens, then he can easily bat it away from public eye and keep his domestic reputation good.

Caleon, seeing how the US has practically taken over half of Europe and is threatening their Pacific endeavors, sends a few troops to Rome, Wellington, Canberra, and Sydney in order to protect them from foreign aggression until the CUB can stabilize its government.

Controversy in the Brazilian-Akatian border!

Image

The boundary line between Akatia and Brazil runs through 1236.2 kilometers of rivers and canals and more than 25.1 kilometers through hydrographic basins. Two days ago, border controls were reinforced by Akatia, sending an estimated 1,000 regular soldiers to border controls and collaborating with the security protocols required by Akatia.

Image

These controls resulted in a massiveness of people in the Akatian border, unable to access the interior of the nation. Among the people outside the border are black people, Brazilians over 40, pregnant women and children. Akatia has not released the number of people who have gained access to the nation but according to multiple surveys conducted by independent media in Brazil to people trapped on the border, only 10 people managed to access the nation, which is claimed that at least 9 of them were Akatians. It is estimated that an estimated 6,000 Brazilians have been trapped on the border.

Currently Brazilians are on the Akatian border protesting against border measures opted by the southern country, which has not made any kind of scandal by the measure recently taken. Many Brazilians demand support from the Brazilian government in order to have a dialogue between the Tsar Akatian and the president of the country. According to a census carried out by independent media in Brazil, 35% of Brazilians at the borders want to access Akatia to receive medical treatment, since the medicine in Akatia is very well financed and the hospitals of the nation are much more suitable than the Brazilian hospitals.

Rumors indicate that the action was taken by Tsar Ekaterina Achaga. According to Akatia's background, it is not the first time that they prohibit the entry of foreigners to the southern nation. Throughout Akatian history, very severe acts of racial discrimination have been carried out and in the world the nation is known for having a bad eye on countries whose populations are mainly made up of black skinned people or people with high levels of poverty.

The Brazilian president is still expected to make a decision on what happened at the border. Will the Brazilian state intervene to help migrants access Akatia? What will the Brazilian president say at the next conference? The truth is that most foreigners do not have faith that this situation will change due to fidelity that Akatia has with his immigration measures.
A parallel universe where the continents and the countries are different.

I do not use NS Stats.

After a few days of sailing, the Turkish troops land on the North coast of Egypt, while Arabian troops land on its East coast. The Turkish troops start taking big cities such as Cairo and Alexandria while the Arabian troops help seal any Egyptian resistance from the Red Sea. They also start taking the Suez Canal.

After the coasts are taken, the troops plan to take over the Nile River Valley. Egypt's deserts will be hard to invade, but it will also be hard to organize resistance in the deserts.

They plan to do as little damage as possible in order to protect human rights.

Noticing its position in an oil-rich area, Iran takes advantage of its oil and gas deposits and reinvigorates the fossil fuel industry in order to make Iran an energy giant. Iran and Arabia start drilling for and exporting oil on a massive scale.

Many MPs criticize this move, however, since the use of fossil fuels could harm the environment. In Turkey, renewable energy proliferates even more rapidly in protest of this move and in recognition of the environmental damage fossil fuels can cause. Many propose that Iran can use renewable energy as it is as useful as fossil fuels and Iran can just as easily become an energy giant with renewables.

Tesmarakh, Kashtyria

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Mackenzie Pearson has spent his first day in Kashtryia surrounding himself with the culture, customs of the nation, but most importantly; the people!

Throughout the day the he visited major cultural centers and land marks asking the local population some questions. Like, "What would you think of an alliance with Canada and your nation? What's your day to day life like? How could Canada do to help you and your nation?" Everyone who answered the questions were met with one final question. "Would you like to come to Canada?" Those who answered yes, were given free round trip tickets to visit Independent Canada.

The Canadian Prime Minister is very well at getting along with people. He listens, take notes, offers advice asks questions to those people who ask him questions. He is a very relate-able to the general population. Probably one of the reasons why he got elected with a super majority and kicked out the elitists controlling the former nation. Canada and their leader is very proud to have a government that is for the people!

That evening the Prime Minister had a traditional Kashryriaian dinner at a local restaurant. It was very delicious and he personally thanked the chiefs and staff and left a great tip.

Before the Canadian leader rests for the night, he goes to the gates of the Main Government Building. He stands there looking towards it, knowing that he will be there soon, talking with a few world leaders. But for now he is satisfied that he talked to the general population.

The conquering of Egypt is going well so far. The Turkish troops seized the Egyptian and Sinai North Coast and the Arabian troops seized the Egyptian East Coast and the Sinai South Coast. They also gained control of the Suez Canal, important in international trade.

The next phases of the mission is to occupy the Nile River Valley, where most of the Egyptian population lives. Airmen take off from Arabia in order to land in various spots in the Valley and secure it.

There are still some obstacles. It will be immensely difficult to conquer the deserts of Egypt and Sinai. Even if the coasts, the Nile, and the Suez are secured, resistance will be possible in the desert, allowing them to raid areas controlled by Iran.

Because it is hard and impractical to build in the desert, Iran can not secure most of the land borders with Libya and Sudan. Thus, if Iran were to try and take the desert (which in itself is impractical), the rebels will be able to retreat into the deserts of Libya and Sudan, though said countries would be rather cross about it.

In order to prevent Sinaian rebels from escaping into Israel/Palestine, the East border of Sinai is being secured. This would allow Iran to surround the Sinai.

---

Iran's oil/gas industry becomes the largest in the world (this can change later on). Though this brings in much money, the debate over fossil fuels is still raging on. In Turkey, renewable energy spreads and become increasingly profitable. Support for natural resources also spreads to parts of Northern Iran.

Many Turkish companies start operations in other parts of the world. A few Northern Iranian companies, not wanting to be left in the dust, follow suit. As this happens, Iran becomes increasingly important in the renewable energy sector.

In Arabia, there is more support for the oil/gas industry. Arabia became rich because of its oil deposits and many Arabians fear that if the oil industry goes, it could cause major economic problems in Arabia. Saudi Aramco (still one of the world's largest oil companies) starts constructing an oil lobby to promote the interests of the oil industry.

---

Due to his position as Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Shahanshah starts a program to make it easy for Muslim pilgrims to travel to Al-Hejaz and perform Hajj.

He is careful not to make himself the Caliph despite calls to do so, as this could cause unwanted controversy among the Muslims of Iran.

Recently hearing of this, the United Kingdom of Hypron prepares for a intervention, as Egypt was once a part of the British Empire, and deserving protection. A response force is preparing at Plymouth, consisting of the following units:

The 3rd Commando Battalion
The First Armored Brigade
The 2nd Infantry Division
Amphibious Assault Carrier HMS Illustrious
HMS Daring
HMS Duncan
A bunch of troop carrying Lynx and Panther Helicopters

The First Carrier Strike Group, patrolling the English Channel, is ordered to the Mediterranean Sea, north of Egypt's coast.

The CUB decides begins a conquest of Panama with intents to move North after conquest to get a grasp in the Pacific so the CUB can hold most of Central America. As such, the 2nd Apex Fleet which is carrying the 8th Ranger Corp. consisting of engineers, soldiers, and other military personnel is tasked with sailing to the cost of Chile and begin an occupation. The first ground forces will be the 22nd Mountaineers, a mainly armor division. The CUB doesn’t want anyone else involved in their affairs and warns other countries stay in their lanes. Aaron Wise’s warning isn’t meant to be aggressive but serves as a “we don’t want war” message.

The plan behind all this is to establish the CUB in multiple areas of the globe so the CUB can quickly respond to help allies or stop enemies, as well as having multiple trade ports.

The Apex Fleet consists of:
2 Honey Badgers
4 Hamaya XIIIs
8 Hamaya MMXIs
3 Hamaya XIs
4 Hamaya NPCS
50,000 Personnel
500 S.P.A.V.s
340 Mavericks
230 Assorted Martin Storm Variants.

OOC: Please note that according to rule 5, you can't directly intervene in the annexation. You can get ships there and put pressure on the area (like a blockade or something), but you can't invade Egypt without my consent.

IC: After much fighting, the Sinai-Israel/Palestine border is secured by the Turkish and Arab fighters. The Arab fighters land at various points along the Nile and begin their occupation of it. They try to facilitate a smooth transition to Irani rule so Egyptians' daily lives will be relatively unchanged.

Meanwhile, Saudi Aramco finishes constructing its oil lobby, called the Iran Oil and Gas Alliance (IOGA). It is composed of Iran's 5 biggest oil companies and will lobby for increased rights for oil/gas companies. In retaliation, renewable energy supporters start building their own lobby.

The Shahanshah's Hajj program is officially in effect. He hopes this will allow Muslims from around the world to easily and safely complete their pilgrimage.

Iran then launches an attack on Israel/Palestine in order to solidify its Middle East presence. Some Turkish troops in Egypt (they have not recruited Egyptian soldiers yet) enter Gaza while Arab troops in Arabia start sailing to Eilat. Once this invasion is done, the Shahanshah will create a pilgrimage program for holy sites in Israel/Palestine (similar to the Hajj program).

They are not aware of the UK's plans for intervention in Egypt.

Iran refuses to leave the area.

Meanwhile, Sinai is slowly enveloped by the Irani forces (which control the edges of Sinai but not the Middle). Resistance is also being put down in Irani-occupied Egypt. This, however, could lead to massive strain on Iran's economy (Egypt has a high population and high physiological population density). Thus, Iran will give much autonomy to Egypt in order to protect Egyptian rights and economic independence while also avoiding harm to Iran.

They face another challenge in Israel. Israel has a doctrine called the Samson Option, which states that if an occupying force invades or destroys a lot of Israeli land, Israel will respond by using nuclear weapons and taking the occupiers down with them.

Iran plans to find and disable Israeli nuclear sites in order to prevent them from using the Samson Option, though this will be hard, as the Israeli soldiers will be especially protective of the land, due to not having anywhere else to go.

In general, Iran is having a difficult time in the Middle East, as the scars of the Saudia-Iran conflict are still there. Though Saudia itself is in Iran now (much to the annoyance of Saudia's people), there are still many anti-Iran factions in the Middle East.

Ministry of National Defence - Ottawa

The Canadian Ministry of National Defence is asking the American government to allow a division or two on their Panamanian territory along the Panama Canal to help strengthen the American Forces stationed there. The Panama Canal is apart of the United States of America and within the realm of NATO.

Iran asks for the United Kingdom and countries in general to not interfere in Irani affairs in regard to the Egypt Situation.

The annexation of Egypt is also controversial in Iran, with some thinking it will strategically benefit Iran, while others think it is violating Egyptians' rights to self-determination.

Meanwhile, the renewable energy guys form their own lobby, Iranians For Renewable Energy Sources (IFRES). Both IOGA and IFRES start lobbying MPs for their respective positions.

Iran attains one of the largest renewable energy industries in the world (this is subject to change, however).

The British and Hypronian combined Government refuses this proposition.

OOC: According to rule 5, I have to ask to intervene, (even though this is more of a liberation then a annexation) so may I intervene?

At the time the Canadian Navy went to full alert, I place Carrier Strike Group 2 to full alert and order them to patrol the Panama Canal.

OOC: There can be some skirmishes on the Egyptian North coast, the Israeli West Coast, and Gaza, though I'd prefer it be limited to that.

IC: The Iranis are able to sabotage Israeli nuclear sites in order to prevent the Samson Option from being executed. Gaza and the Israeli West Coast falls under full Iranian control and the troops start travelling inland to take over the West Bank. They are careful to make sure that no infrastructure is destroyed, though realistically, there is some damage given the fact a war is occurring.

OOC: Got it

IC: After a refusal to our ultimatum, the 3rd Commando Brigade, using its helicopters, lands in the city of Gaza, covered by the 5th Attack Squadron (4 Harriers with High Explosive Bombs) and the 9th Air Superiority Squadron (6 Eurofighter Typhoons with AAM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-9 Sidewinder Anti air missiles)

Meanwhile, the First Armored Brigade (30 Challenger 2) and the 2nd Infantry Division (15000 troops) land at El Alamein and are ordered to hold their position. They are covered by the 3rd Fighter Squadron( 4 Tornado and 2 Eurofighter Typhoons) and the 6th Strike Squadron (Same as 5th Attack Squadron)

On the Prime Ministers mind is also the Iranian invasion of Egypt. For the time being thought he does not bring it up. As for right now PM Pearson and President Ahmed are somewhat strangers but are very friendly with each other.

Although this situation almost reminds him of the Suez Crisis of 1956, where Canada had a lot of involvement with it, not for both sides on a military standpoint, but for it's own side. Peacekeeping.

We might have a Suez Crisis 2.0 coming up and Independent Canada might be at the forefront again...

OCC: Congratulations! We have reached our 100th post. Go Canada Go!
