Thanks. Sorry for being a bother, I know how busy you must be with this thread.

In my dig you will find my embassy thread. Don't worry about a required quick response, we can assume for the sake of rp that there have been embassies and consulates for years.

I'm not sure what you mean by this response.

If I may take a wild guess, I'll put it in different terms we can understand easier. Forget the "negotiation" part and you understand what his people mean/want. To put in other terms like I said I would, it would be like my army versus your army, but before our countries are even at war my army sends someone to demand your army's surrender or we'll keep preparing for the coming battle that you're just now learning about. What he's saying is if you don't surrender accept his terms now, there wont be a sham negotiation which ends with him occupying your nation and submitting yourself to them. So basically it's a demand for surrender in a war that hasn't happened yet - skipping like two or three steps me thinks.

I mean I wanted to touch this point before, but didn't because I thought it was clear the first time I mentioned before the irony that is an invasion to instill peacekeeping. It's like a professional robber breaking into a house, killing half the family, all in the name of installing a brand new home security system to protect said family. Can you see the faulty logic there? That of course ignoring the reality of what the underlying political goals are of such an operation, political agendas on all sides that many here have excellently illustrated in the thread thus far. So if your people honestly believe they need to kill millions so they can have 20,000 peacekeepers in a capital you planned to nuke anyways, your people deserve the retaliatory nuclear strikes we would send back their way. But I believe I've stated Imperion's seriousness enough already to know how we view such actions and warfare itself.

posted responses to Shrailleeni and Hatterleigh's messages. purposefully wrote as little about Barretome as possible, as I'm not 100% certain what is going on in the embassy yet and do not want to make inaccurate assumptions about that. Just writing that regardless of whatever is going on, he found plenty of time to read the messages, consider them, and respond. It looks as though a diplomatic coalition of nations who disagree with what New Edom has done is forming together!

You haven't acknowledged my runner. :'(

In any case, I intend to start writing my next post this weekend, with the aim of getting in up either then or sometime early next week.

I must've missed it, TG me the link. tbh i am a bit overwhelmed by all the posts and am really just trying to skim for my name while i wait on specific people.

it's also possible i won't be able respond to it right away depending on if it requires my embassy.

I actually thought I HAD replied to you, but I couldn't find my reply, so I posed one again, sorry about that. I had been wondering why you hadn't responded, but it's possible that I was interrupted before I posted and simply never did!

Just a friendly reminder to OP, I know I did not give you enough time before sending this, but Minister Geta has to respond to a letter from my FA Minister in your next post. Also, I was wondering: Should we assume the meeting between Dusk and Melzar is over and skip the ending, or should we RP and ending of sorts? I would say the ormer, but it’s up to you

Nice anthem. Btw, check out Solisian Union and Common Territories posts recently. They demonstrate very well how to write a military post, particularly about the transition of a unit.
First, they describe what means by which they are traveling. Second, they describe personnel and particular characters and their mood. Third, they convey passage of time.

I also advise you to note, in turn, the posts from The Shrailleeni Empire, Carloso, Adiron, and Ru, among others. They are writing about communication between their own officials and other diplomats and foreign ministers. They convey a sense of concern, and what those concerns are. There is a blend of low level and higher level characters that gives a sense of what they are trying to do.

Thanks, I will have a post up soon. Just for planning purposes, the Cossack military will be accepting a role in surveillance on the Lanroth forces, so what kind of results would we get? I would think perhaps a report saying yes, they exist, no, it isn’t as large as stated, and yes it could deploy to Edom if the Tyronians desire so.

No , we aren’t. In terms of history, I guess the recon plane could have launched off of a island base of ours, but Lanorth kinda jumped the gun before I RPed my plane taking off. Whatever, I think we got it under control.

Alright, but this is what I would appreciate in future for my thread, which I think is generally good etiquette for this kind of thread.

1. Other than normal border security, normal military ops like patrols, exercises etc, really big units on the move is rare.

2. So any extraordinary deployments, especially overseas when it is not say to an ally for regular exercises, should at least show a planning stage. You notice Vionna and TECT did a minimum of that but that is because of our alliance. Others should definitely NOT skip this stage.

3. Embarcation.

3. Movement (and this should be a minimum two posts if you don't share a region)

4. Arrival

However there is also an element of government process involved too. Governments tend not to rush to war, even where borders are disputed, because of the following reasons.

1. Wars are expensive. Fuel, ammunition, equipment, are very expensive.

2. Well trained and experienced personnel don't grow on trees.

3. Unkess your nation is a crazed dictatorship, most governments have some kind of process before deciding on a military option.

4. Wars have uncertain outcomes. History shows that the odds are not necessarily with the obvious victor

5. There are often many options that are less expensive and risky than war.

I think perhaps this would be good in a spoiler on the OP, so we could point newer players there. I know I didn't follow this, and I feel kinda bad about it, but I was rushed into it.

Right, though as with all creative writing and roleplaying it's a learning experience and it helps to have guidelines. A good suggestion btw.

You people don't mind if I skip some places which I was supposed to write about and move directly to action, t.m. deployment of Nifonese forces, information warfare and diplomacy?
