Why I use it is ‘cause it explains a lot of game mechanics and the way people RP. Like if you want to add a new member of your region to the map, the only reason you can just add their nation is ‘cause there is free land. Why is there free land? ‘Cause there is infinite land (and sea, obviously).

Honestly, I don't know if I can roleplay with Lanorth. Like I said before, I don't RP outside of MT when I explained why I had to ignore Ru for being a FanT nation. I've only crossed said lines with nations on rare cases. I've RPed on site at some capacity for almost a decade now, I think I can say with confidence that aliens with FT technology are not MT - it doesn't take two brains to understand that. I really don't care what excuses you come up with to explain them because I know what it takes to have said organs and how to travel space in reality; they're not by any means realistic and you've changed stories a few times now as it is. All of these require either significant hand-waves to accept, or a bleak acceptance that this is no longer an MT thread. I loath mix-tech threads with a passion because I've only seen them become travesties where the MT guys become the villains at all capacities, or they are the victims because FTers in said group get to bully the insignificant bug that is an MT nation. To me it doesn't really matter if you got one, two, or even three hearts; hearts don't stop you from dying of blood loss when you're shot or torn apart by shrapnel, and they surely wont help when an explosion liquefies your innards. If you honestly think having these extra pair of organs makes your alien race better, stronger, then you're wrong.

It's about the principle here. If we're allowed to just bring in any fucking tech level we please and make excuses to accept them so they can be used in a war for advantage, then why shouldn't everyone do it? Why shouldn't I demand that my people were also aliens who came from the former Galactic Empire that ruled this part of space, ran from its impending death to inhabit earth, and left behind cool advanced tech that essentially made my nation superior? They're human and MT, I assure you! Ignore my advanced power production capabilities and my advanced weaponry! I wont use it I swear!

You know why I don't? Because this is MT. MT is defined, even in its most liberal of definitions, as a technology range where technology used cannot exceed those in development and what you see now is what you get. The last time I walked around outside I didn't see people with two heads and huge chests to fill two unneeded organs, and I sure as hell didn't fucking meet an alien of the space kind. I don't see why people can't just use... well, people, in MT - it's one of the damn qualifiers for the general use in MT communities. Im not saying a regional community can't do its own thing, and if some OPs want this kind of mixing going on, more power to them, but this is an open sphere where the vast majority of MT players are free to take part. They are expected to operate by the universally accepted norms and not attempt such power plays.

I can see Lanorth is at least trying to cooperate and that's dandy, but I can't get past this whole "We're aliens" thing because (A) the story of them existing has changed multiple times now to explain their existence, and (B) the obvious implications of aliens existing destroys this thread's credibility as an MT RP. If New Edom accepts this then I will grit my teeth and do one of two things: either treat these aliens as proper humans and ignore the canon fact their aliens, or I'll treat them like the monsters they are. It'll all depend at the end of the day with Lanorth's actions, of which will also shape how I personally go about this thread from now on.

This is my view onntechnandcweirdvraces. I can accept a player like Ru- because he has made it clear that anything he does can be seen as MT, and any weird physiology we can interpret as being human. He is a good roper, a good storyteller, and is more than willing to discuss rping as the main issue. If it is possible to treat your nation the same way, i will, but I am a bit concerned that you originally raised the two hearts thing as a biological advantage.

Lanorth, I feel that you just may just want to rp a war. Your response to my foreign ministers letter suggests that, mbut maybe you do not realize that a host country, or at least a recognized governing body, usually has to agree to accept peacekeepers. It is not clear what your country intends to accomplish either since civil disturbances take place in countries all the time without causing a collapse of government or economy. In short, there is no reason for a huge invasion, since your country could probably accomplish things by other means. Did you not know this, or did you just want a war?

Second, I want to see what you post for tech and such, but it has to either be real life stuff thst is in use baby a real country or materiel designatedMT by a reputable storefront on NS. I might accept stuff of your own invention, but then I would want it reviewed by at least one player in this thread and another ofvrepute from the forum.

Finally, the numbers. Cossack Khanate is correct. Logistics cannot be ignored, nor can travel.

On a less controversial note, how would you like to go about conducting the phone call Kylarnatia? I somewhat dislike the idea of a post going back and forth, but I could do that. Otherwise perhaps through TG or some other medium?

I just saw the post, appreciate it. I was thinking originally of speaking to the people who acknowledged the runners and I'd give them a general sense of what the discussion would be like and then you guys could tell me anything in particular that your guys would say which I'd then acknowledge in my post (because I agree having multiple back and forth conversations over the phone wouldn't be too fun).

We can either do TG or if you have it, Discord. We can talk it out and decide where to go from there. :)

Just so everyone involved knows, Deadora is an independent nation in the Cornellian region that is a longtime rival of New Edom and a despotic matriarchy. It was originally run by a member of our region who left the continued maintenance of the nation in my care along with Aedora. In my posts I try to make it abundantly clear that Shrailleen and Deadora are separate nations.

Okay, I got a post finished though I ended up writing more than I wanted to for one section. So I'll make the next post concerning the Legionnaires next. Hopefully it wont be as long winded, but no guarantees there. For anyone not familiar, this is the portion of the combined Imperion fleet TECT is dispatching to rendezvous with other Imperion fleets actively participating in the fleet. What this Task Force and the combined fleet will exactly do isn't decided yet, but for now it will float off New Edom's shores ready to intercept anything that perceived as hostile to New Edom or Imperion.

The biological advantage point is exactly what worries me. I'm all happy for a good war and the numbers, travel and logistics are a big issue but this alien thing is much more important to deal with. Having a fictional race is fine, Ru is good as we can see his people as humans but this suggestion that the two hearts and the two brains gives Lanorth's people some kind of advantage over regular humans (those he would be fighting, might I add) should frankly be considered an attempt to cheat on what is otherwise a storytelling-based RP with no real gameplay to it.

Right. So what I am hearing is, my populace has to be human, because being alien has something to do with technology, is unrealistic, my numbers, which I have already decreased to make it realistic, still have to be decreased. Besides. I have made the SLBM a weapon in-testing, and have replaced it with a HBM, or a Hypersonic Ballistic Missile, which, I think, is used by the Russian Federation. Is there anymore requests that I have to change, maybe, some I have already changed?

There are points in my last posts here that you didn't address.

1. Why is your country trying to invade mine? Why aren't they negotiating?

2. How did your government prepare such a huge force so fast?

for the record, I also have serious problems with Lanroth and their posting. good and sensible answers to Edom's questions may make me feel better about all this but at this point perhaps Edom should be closing the thread to new participants. The amount of people rping actively in the thread is already dizzying anyway to the point where it's been a week since Edom responded to me, despite thier extreme level of activity in thd thread.

And it seems to me that a bunch of novice RPers are jumping in and wanting to invade immediately without reading what we've been setting up so far. I think Fatiman or someone realized they are outnumbered and rather then adjust thier approach is instead trying to call in friends. It's not up to me, but I think these guys could, frankly, ruin the rp for alot of us if we are not careful.

I'm probably just panicing for no reason, admittedly. I've been told i have a tendency to do that..

1. If I am being completely honest, the Tyronian want to finalize the negotiation rather than ask for it. They want you to begin negotiations. Until then, they will not stop. The process will halt, though, during negotiations. If it fails, it will continue, if it succeeds, the slow process of disarming soldiers will begin.

2. They haven't. It is quite simply propaganda. Out of the 500,000 soldiers planned to be deployed, only 99,361 soldiers have been armed and ready for action. Around 30 men and women are armed and ready for action every two hours, so it increases slowly, but surely.

So wait, in response to a diplomatic letter, they announce intention to invade? How dies that make any sense? Especially since it was apparently a vote by parliament? If you are trying to say that it is a negotiation tactic, then to be blunt it makes no sense since there are no actual objectives. I would suggest that you try writing more about your country attempting to reach out diplomatically, particularly if they genuinelybdoncare about humanitarianism, and in particular by supporting the efforts of more humanitarian nations. Several of these nations have made their intentions publicly known.

I don't mind having tensions going on. I don't even mind war. But it's not really fitting tge narrative at this time.

I would not focus on that. Lanorth had written an initial good post and he's trying to figure it out, not just pushing his way in. There are several good posts to respond to. Tge Shrailleeni, Adiran, and Edomite posts await your response.

I meant Tyronian, as in, the populace. They would rather finalize the negotiations rather than start it (if they were in power, that is). The Parliament would probably go along with their people if they demand it, or start some sort of riot or protest, which is getting more and more likely every hour.

If this does happen, Lanorth will have to start using nuclear force. It is protocal. You have been warned.

Dude, nukes in themselves aren't an automatic no-no, if they're well written and plot-relevant enough, but just threatening to invade someone and then spewing nuclear missiles at anyone who comes after you is not good RP. What if New Edom and his allies just all posted that they'd launched a hundred nukes each at your nation? The RP instantly dies

Or can I just write a post? If so, is there anything I should know beforehand?

I meant Tyronian, as in, the populace. They would rather finalize the negotiations rather than start it (if they were in power, that is). The Parliament would probably go along with their people if they demand it, or start some sort of riot or protest, which is getting more and more likely every hour.

I'm not sure what you mean by this response.

What he said.
