It was a day almost like any other in South Daiehan that is bordered to the north by an old remnant of the cold war and long time rival which itself is ruled by a harsh dictatorship but now South Daiehan is under military control with the ousting of President Kim Da who won a controversial election a few years ago running on a Progressive-Liberal platform. President Kim Da was liked by many western liberal democracies and was hated by North and many conservative and right-wing elements in South Daiehan as well as the military.

The coup occurred early in the morning slightly before sunrise with the army seizing control of the capital with little to no resistance, the parliament building was seized by army special forces and soon after the Presidential palace was seized as well and the President was found hiding in a bunker part of the palace and was arrested by military police. A national state of emergency has been declared and the Daiehan Patriotic Freedom Party has been declared the only legal party and its chairman Kwon Chung-Hee has been declared President of South Daiehan several hours after the coup he addressed the world about how he will rule South Daiehan to prosperity:

"We will cleanse our proud fatherland of the mentally ill, the degenerate western backed puppets, and we will make peace with our brothers in the North and we will raise the Korean fatherland to the world stage. No longer will our policies be dictated by foreigners and no longer will we fight our brothers on their imperialist and globalist agenda. We are not pawns, puppets or proxies we serve only Daiehan and its people! Emergency rule will continue until our nation is free from the Western shills that pollute our country with their toxic support for the homosexuals, foreigners and other anti-Daiehanese. LONG LIVE DAIEHAN!"

To the rebel regime of Kwon Chung-Hee and the so-called Daiehan Patriotic Freedom Party

It is with great alarm that news of your illegal seizure of power has reached our shores. Without trepidation, the Senate and People of Taledonia hereby condemn the violent overthrow of the legal Daiehan government, and refuses to recognize the legitimacy of the self-proclaimed Chairman Kwon Chung-Hee, or of any imperium exercised by his movement or allies. Our greatest hope is that the international community will join us in this condemnation. We call for the halt of the military takeover that has happened in Daiehan, and for the restoration of the legal government of President Kim Da.

Further, the Senate and People of Taledonia are horrified at the alleged priorities of the rebel regime, and call for an explanation of their intended "cleansing." While the actions of the Daiehan Patriotic Freedom Party have done nothing but tarnish their reputation, we still hope that their chairman has simply made a poor choice of words, and that violence does not engulf the stricken nation.

To the rebel regime of Kwon Chung-Hee and the so-called Daiehan Patriotic Freedom Party

The response given by the rebel leadership is unsatisfactory. All claims of acting on behalf of the people are ludicrous, and the actions of the Daiehan Patriotic Freedom Party speak of anything but. One does not serve the public will by usurping the legally elected government. And any suggestion that "cleansing the Fatherland" of any of its citizens indicates a desire for peace and prosperity is dangerously psychopathic; rather, it reeks of an ideology that will harbour no diversity or difference, and will brutally oppress any unlucky enough to be brought underneath it. The attempted ban of opposition parties is further evidence of this sham.

The Senate and People of Taledonia wish to make it clear that they fully condemn the Daiehan Patriotic Freedom Party, their chairman Kwon Chung-Hee, and view as illegal any and all imperium they pretend to wield. We call on the international community to join us in this condemnation, and to make it clear that this coup is seen as nothing but an illegitimate attempt at creating an oppressive dictatorship. We call upon the Daiehan Patriotic Freedom Party to disarm their militants, resign any office or position they did not legally gain during the previous election, and restore the rightful Daiehan government of President Kim Da to power.
