What is Sector of Beta Trade Hub?

In the Milky Way Galaxy, rests a collection of star systems. A collection of single star systems, which are isolated and yet interlinked with other parts of the universe. There are a few wormholes to other sectors of the Milky Way Galaxy, or even other galaxies entirely. "The Sector" is distinct by now only it's location close to the heart of Beta quadrant, or to it's connection to wormholes; but also because it's bordered with two layers of seriously delayed travel. So far, four different methods of FTL slow down to a crawl in two separate layers around "The Sector", isolating the area from the horrors and conflict of the rest of Beta. On the other hand, this isolation contained the suffering in the area and prevented outsiders from doing much to improve the situation. If that wasn't enough of the problem, at least twice the wormholes have let in invading imperialists into "The Sector".

There is one final difference however, one that is again, very important. Resting close to the center of "The Sector" is Nidus, a world with over a hundred billion people, a worm that defies the laws of size and gravity. Nidus is somehow both extremely big, and yet very much terrestrial and conductive to human-life, rather then like a gas-giant. A hundred years again, Nidus would have nations rise and fall without most of the world even knowing such had happened. Nations of billions could fall to ruin and tens of billions would have no idea the nation ever existed at all. No one even bothered to make a map of the whole planet, so large it was, and it was impossible to understand what was and what had been with so many people and so much land.

With such a strategic location, so many people with goods to buy and sell, and the recent upswing in Beta economic conditions; many of the Nidus "Mega-Powers" decided it was time to take a barely important system and use it as a major trading hub. The resources of The Sector's four to six major trading hubs, could then be linked together with an even bigger and more central trading hub. In the future, this hub would link the galaxy, if only a little; and perhaps in time link galaxies together in just a little way.

What system is it located in and why?

Pvuk-Yur is where the SBTH is located. An orange star that barely pushes out that much light or heat to be of much use, it thankfully has Masunk' located in it's habitable zone and encased in warmth. The planet has slightly more gravity then most humans like, and slightly less water, but it's covered in bacteria that loves it's toxic atmosphere. Years are 28 percent as long as most humans prefer, but that isn't important. What is important is that it used to have valuable and advanced xenos artifacts from a forgotten time, and is now covered in specialty facilities that produce advanced technology and mine materials to be used in construction of said advanced tech.

Pvuk-Yur is the source of two valuable materials: anti-matter and what is now the most advanced translation technology in The Sector. Close to a billion imported Post-Humans from the Man-Machine Collective slave over the technology left by the past, using their advanced research abilities to make increasingly powerful engines, power-plants, batteries, and translators possible. Technology bought or taken by blood is moved back to their facilities, where they can then unlock the secrets of the future.

What is the Trade Hub?

The Trade Hub is currently just a massive space-station connecting the various backers of this new venture, mostly Nidus Mega-Powers; along with the local Prole Confederation space elevator and ship construction dockyard. Visitors can dock at only the space-station currently.

Currencies and Trade Values

What is a "Trade Unit"

A "Trade Unit" is the amount of NSD in 2136 or so, to match the same perceiving power of a 2018 American Dollar or 2018 NSD. A Trade Unit is also the same amount of money, but converted into "Terran Credits" from the Prole Confederation, or any number of other currencies. This measurement allows trading partners to ignore currencies conversion rates, inflation, and other things that get in the way of trade.

Despite this, the two largest currencies in The Sector and thus SBTH, are the Prole Confederation Terran Credit and the Nidus "Universal Credit".

What makes the Prole Confederation Terran Credit special?

For the past 100 or more years, the Prole Confederation and the nations that came before it, has backed the Terran Credit with kilowatt hours, by allowing any citizen to buy a kilowatt hour at a fixed price. The price has moved some over the past hundred years, but by encouraging more production and less consumption, the price hasn't risen much internally.

7.24 Terran Credits is equal to 1 NSD in 2018, but also 23.79 Universal Dollars in 2136.

A stable inflation rate of 2% the last hundred years, has resulted in serious growth of the value of Terran Credits, which mean the currency is great for importing but not so much in exporting. Naturally, The Prole Confederation prefers to trade goods or services for goods or services, then use currency.

What makes the Nidus Universal Dollar special?

The Nidus Universal Dollar or something that came before it, has been in use for close to a hundred years, if not hundreds of years. The amount of trade encouraged and allowed by this valuable exchange currency is considerable, with it making many massive enterprises selling weapons and other valuable goods.

Level 3B, Secure Prole Confederation Trade Zone

As the owners of the space-station before it was expanded, along with the being the owners of the planet the station orbits around, the Prole Confederation has a large section devoted to their needs, their storefronts, and their various temples, shooting ranges, and centers of culture. Manufactured goods are affordable and cheap, but only if one uses other goods to trade rather then currency. The area is interested in bulk resources, food supplies, raw salvaged technology, research or art specialists, mercenaries, and such. It's best talents are currently in production, weapons design, and refinement of technology. Prole Confederation items are typically surprisingly good for their price, but they naturally very utilitarian and typically lacking in brand power or advertising ability.

Special Deals

350,000 rifled breech-loader conversions with 100 rounds, for 500 Trade Units each. Produced by Ralos of the Thora Psi Sector, these weapons are not reproductions, but are literal weapons of a primitive technological level, made in the last ten years or so.

Level 3B, Main Trade Zone

Separated by the rest of Level 3 by a thick wall and a series of advanced security systems, sits a large area filled with seemingly endless districts, with endless sections, and endless shops. Many Star Nations have a district, many nations or cultures a section, and many specific items a shop. The area ranges from massive warehouses with endless shipping moving up and out, to small cafes or collectors shops. Big business or small, the area is has much in the way of construction currently, but only so much trade going on at the moment besides raw materials, technology from the surface, technology from other areas, currency swaps, or commerce by the hundreds of thousands living on the space station or the billions on the planet itself.

We do not generally send our military assets for security unless we have a pressing need to do so but will instead dispatch the Great Ship Anguish Ameliorated to visit your station, which is one of our larger travelling habitats with a population of approximately three hundred thousand; the vessel itself is around seven kilometres in length.
