The carrier group sat silent and still, awaiting its clearance. From afar, a casual observer would have noted the snake-like look of the formation of the carrier group, with the AWACS craft and escort fighters above creating swirls in the air. A strangely beautiful site on such a clear day.

Before them sat the Suez Canal, and the gateway to the Mediterranean.

The journey thus far had been without incident. Upon exiting the Indian Ocean, the Yemeni Socialist Republic had had very little to say about the ships of its Cedorian allies suddenly appearing in the region, and made no effort to stop them. Likewise, the government's of Sudan and Saudi Arabia had not felt it wise to interfere with Cedorian operations. While they had not officially made their objective clear, everybody was aware of who was likely to be the real target.

But now, on reaching the Canal, Egyptian permission was required. Admiral Dupere and her crew were patiently awaiting their clearance...

"But Admiral, why does command bother with clearance? The Canal is technically open to all international shipping. Surely the Egyptians can't stop us?"

"Indeed they can't Ensign" came the reply. "But we're not escorting container ships, we're here conducting delicate operations that may require military action. If the Egyptians were to be run roughshod over, it would cause all kinds of diplomatic turmoil. This way, they retain their sovereign pride, and we can still get through the Canal. Don't forget they're one of our biggest customers for weapons"

Indeed this was true, Cedorian state arms manufacturers sold to all kinds of nations around the world, not just Socialist allies. Third world or neutral powers were often courted in this way, and Cedorian weapons were of high quality. Anybody who doubted the wisdom of this policy should never do so again, when seeing the effect of it in diplomatic wrangling and arm-twisting like this very moment.

Things were moving up ahead, she could see men and women shifting along the banks of the Canal, in the distance, machines started squeaking.

The carrier's comms buzzed. The Comms officer chimed in.

"Admiral Dupere, we have full permission to traverse the Canal and enter the Mediterranean. Permission to proceed?"

Slowly, Alyssa Dupere exhaled, releasing a breath she hadn't realised she was holding.

"Aye Lieutenant, proceed. For the Revolution."

"For the Revolution" he returned with a smile.


Slowly, like a lumbering giant now awoke, the Stavros and its battle group roared to life, streaming ahead, onwards to their mission.

Onwards to the Mediterranean, onwards to, if necessary, punish the Austrian Fascists for their crimes.

ORBAT will be forthcoming not in the next post if Austria doesn't concede to Cedorian demands, which I suspect is not likely.

Am happy and joyful by the fact the Nation would do such a great thing... This is Due to the origins of the then Revarnian Republic being born out of a revolution against communist dictatorships and our severe hatred for communism, leading to the construction of a DMZ against the border of China to the north...

Because of this I pledge my support to Austria and Letheny, by gathering up all suspected communist sympathizers and sending them to labour camps where they will be executed for crimes against the state of Democracy and Capitalism, and by providing financial and military support to the nations and her allies.

Northern Adriatic Sea

The Stavros was ready. The demands of the People's Republic had gone unheeded, the Austrian terror state unyielding.

But the People's Republic was not prepared to let it go.


Off took the aircraft, the glittering squadrons with fighter escort cutting through the air like a chainsaw through butter, at safe distance from any interference with the launch, they nevertheless were ready at all times, the consummate professionalism of the People's Airforce of Cedoria shining through.

Yet as night turned to dawn and as ocean turned to land beneath them, nothing stirred,

The Austrians were not prepared for the horror they were unleashing.

Over Vienna

It was minutes after dawn when the first bombs struck. The Fire Ants unleashed their massive payloads. Chief among the targets were military and fuel supply depots, fuel lines would burn and explosions would devastate much of the surroundings.

Second, the population centres, Beautiful Vienna was the hardest hit, but several major Austrian population centres were struck by the huge, sudden and savage strike. The exact magnitude of the damage was impossible to calculate from Cedorian instruments, but the death toll could have been catastrophic.

Following the Fire Ants, the second wave, consisting of more precise strike missiles of the Boggaart squadrons. They made precision strikes against military airbases and fortifications, power plants and communication centres, all designed to disrupt aa potential military response. Damage was, again, not calculable, but clearly more then miniscule.

Some AA and flack was returning fire however, and two Cedorian craft were downed among the fighters, as well as one of the Boggarts. The Austrians had put up a fight, despite their surprise

Still, there was no question about the shock and totality of the attack. As a lone eagle flew the skies above Vienna, it caught a glimpse of the Cedorian craft returning back west, towards the carrier, which stood by for resupply and possible counter. Behind them, the fires of Vienna burned high and bright in the morning sun, a glittering demon against a backdrop of orange flame.

Retribution had come to Austria.

The Kingdom of Lux Pulchrae absolutely support the actions taken by the Osterreich against the communists. All measures must be taken to curb the communist threat. And our condolences to our Christian brothers massacred. A day of mourning will surely be held in the near future for these martyrs.

As others have been mobilizing troops so hurriedly, we'll are willing to send 3,000 our own troops. 1,500 from the 4th Piedmontese Infantry, 1,000 from the 9th Hispanic Armored Infantry and 500 from the 4th Alemanni Infantry, just to remove any language barriers.

All these will be pledged to the AFF immediately, on their response.
