With the retreat of the fleet sent to harass the blockade fleet, Luka was glad to see his orders were heeded. the Indian ocean fleet spread out into patrolling carrier groups, patrolling from the coast of Arabia to the waters of the Maldives. However, Letheny's submarines, for a moment, disappeared off the map. Lethen air bases in the Maldives and the Horn of Africa seemed to be strangely active.

Letheny seemed almost oblivious or ignorant to the fact that the GDR would kill more Christians if anything hostile was done towards it. In actually, Letheny believed that the peaceful resolution that the GDR had achieved was weak. The idea that the GDR could profit off of murdering the Christian people drew a great ire from the Emperor of the Lethens and High Command. This explained Letheny's aggressive attitude.

We now inform the German nation of its situation. Germany is to make a payment to the Lethen nation equal to that in which the German Democratic Republic was paid by nations in trade for the safe deportation of German Christians. We, however, and my loyal warrior subordinates all believe that this is a form of extortion. You will not profit off of the pain of Christian people. You will make this payment to us, or the damage to your economy caused by our naval blockade will surely send you into an economic depression.

Upon arriving at a designated spot in The German port, I make ready the ship for the loading of Christians onto the ship, exchanging Gold in payment.

The Raj will be dispatching the RRNS Agrippa (Vishal class carrier) and her escort group (5 Arleigh burke destroyers and 7 Shivalik Frigates supplemented by 3 Astute class subs) to escort the refugee fleet to Jasonville. We will be flying white flags from our ships as a sign of truce as we are on a humanitarian mission. We will defend ourselves if necessary.

The Novayan Commonwealth is increasingly worried that the increasing tensions will result in an all out war against the German Democratic Republic. The Novayan government has decided that it will deploy a carrier strike group from the 4th Novayan Naval Fleet to observe the situation from a distance of 3 kilometers. We do not wish to hasten the tensions, but we wished to be neutral as long as possible.

Should the war against the German Democratic Republic began, the Carrier Strike Group 4 will withdraw to a distance of 9 kilometers, away from the observation site 3 km from the blockade, and await further instructions. I see, well yeah that makes some sense. But no. Mainland Kjalåra covers Scandinavia, the Baltics, most of Poland, parts of Russia and the Ukraine, Northern England, parts of Ireland, Iceland, Greenland, Vineland Cyprus and Northern Turkey. There are however military bases and small enclaves like Macao and Hong Kong scattered across the globe. Where else should I put billions of citizens? Now if you engage in acts of piracy that is up to you but be warned that an attack on our trading routs (please be aware that we practice FOC just like everybody else) will have the same results for you as it had for the Somali pirates. First we will sink your ships than we will destroy your bases. There is also no logical reason why we would allow your military ships in our territorial waters. If you want to RP your piracy than do so, our ships will first respond by less lethal means than call for back up and the navy will treat your act of terrorism as such. Your sailors are not protected by international law if you attack without a declaration of war by the way. They are just regular terrorists. I hope things are now clarified.

OOC: I don't recall any of that being in your map, but thanks for clarifying because now I can extend that out. Letheny's mainland extends from the IRL UK and Ireland all the way to Greenland. Let me just...anyways, I'd like to see you try. It's not piracy, it's a blockade. Regardless, I am willing to roleplay out the actual conflicts on a character-based level if you wish, though not doing so doesn't mean your trade isn't being affected.

Also, still OOC. I couldn't find a place to fit this into IC writing, so just note that the large amount of submarines Letheny has in the blockading fleets are nuclear subs, up to twenty each carrying MIRV-based (basically cluster nukes? harder to shoot down too) nuclear missiles aboard. Also, because I feel like some of you are eager to use nuclear weapons, I note the existence of the Mutually-Assured Destruction policy and the fact that almost every country in this RP is a nuclear-arms state.

I also note the existence of ballistic missile defenses, which are capable of shooting down ICBMs before they even reach the peak of their trajectory. Letheny has several installations in each colony (larger amounts in more valuable colonies) capable of this, and many of Letheny's destroyer ships are capable of this as well.

Apologies if this seemed patronizing but that's the only way I could make it sound formal. I can't put this in a spoiler since it includes pertinent information.

Lethen naval forces from Oest-Amerika as well a spare four carrier groups begin to patrol the area from Greenland to Iceland, and from Iceland to the heartland of Letheny, providing almost complete cutoff. A swarm of fast-attack missile craft and submarines assist. Kjalaaran and German commerce ships leaving are ordered to return, and all ships -- except for Lethen, Krospovian, and Prussian-Polish ships of course -- attempting to enter are forced to undergo inspections. Non-compliance with the blockade, obviously means that whatever Lethen naval craft is nearby blasts the ship apart with anti-ship missiles.

On a strange, flipsided note, Lethen fast-attack craft have also began to escort transport craft in whisking away Christian refugees without payment to the GDR in a similar manner to The Chuck's freedom-of-navigation maneuvers. The Lethen blockade fleet looms ominously in the distance, ready to send and perform reinforcement at any moment.

Once again, the Emperor of the Lethens produces another message, clarifying the blockade fleet's policy on buying refugees and what good alternatives it believes there to be.

We, Kaizer Luka von Alterz, Emperor of the Lethens, King of Hanover, Aldeny, and Romania, and so on remind the world that its blockade does not completely bar ships from entering and picking up Christian refugees as long as you allow yourself to be screened. We do, however, by the blockade's strength, ban the act of paying the GDR for refugees. In paying the regime of the GDR, this allows the German government to profit off of the suffering of Christian people. This cannot continue, and this will not stand.

Any further acquisition, if any as we have received ports of the camps being empitied, of Christian refugees must be done without payment, no matter how much it may bother the government of Germany. Furthermore, we remind the German Democratic Republic that the blockade will not recede until the GDR pays Letheny reparations equal in value by gold to the capital it has acquired in deporting Christian refugees. All craft caught by the blockade carrying gold will have their crew interned in Lethen prisons for the remaining duration of the blockade. However, those craft seeking to violate GDR's sovereignty by allowing Christian refugees to flee -- without allowing the German government to profit from it -- will receive protection from the blockading Grand Fleet.

To Jasonville, Novaya, and the Raj, we feel the need to clarify that you may not come within 12 miles of the Lethen blockade fleet. We believe this is a fair demand, as we would opt to keep a distance in a reversed situation. For our own safety reasons, we ask that you take the long route north of Letheny instead of passing through the Lethen* Channel. Our blockade fleets will permit this, though we do require you to avoid pulling too close to our ships regardless.

*Letheny calls the English Channel the Lethen Channel since it replaces England
