Operation Paris progresses
--------------------------------------------------------------
It was last Saturday. The war on the northern front was raging, and that was especially true in the French section.
Operation Paris was at full bloom.
In the section, after the elite units absolutely wiped out any weak points in the Governments frontline, a portion of the main units, coupled with a huge force of tanks and other armoured vehicles, used this opportunity to encircle and destroy the bulk of the enemy.

Meanwhile, French bombing raids destroyed almost all of the enemy supply routes in the region, and close to completely wiped out the majority of the retreating government forces.

Most of the enemy units behind the front lines were either ripped apart by artillery, destroyed by more air raids, defeated by quickly advancing French troops, or a combination of the three.
Franko-Italian troops advanced so quickly and efficiently that the Government forces didn't have time to regroup and reinforce, and at the moment, government forces are currently barely holding a temporary, and unstable stalemate that is under heavy pressure from the massive French attack.
Through the bloody combat of the front, some can hear the cries of: "Viva La France!" across the vast battlefield.

Stay tuned for more information as the war progresses, and as always,

Tenochitlan, Mexica

The bombing campaign ended just after sunrise. From below the rebels could hear emergency services and air raid sirens shrieking in the dusty morning. The troops were loaded into pickup trucks and stolen military vehicles. They started pushing into the city via Highway 1, no resistance in sight. The police barricades were damaged or destroyed in the bombing run. As they made their way through the ruined streets, a rocket round blew up the lead truck. The convoy stopped and started returning fire. The brief resistance from the Mexican government crumbled as the rebels pushed further inwards. Armed civilians assisted in repelling government attacks.

*Night*
Already three districts had been seized since the rebels pushed in and were making strides in their push to the parliament building. All roads and airports leading in and out of the city were blocked off, there was no escape from justice. President Vasquez was sheltering in his bunker underneath the parliament building. The hideously new flag was flying on top of the building.

Veracruz, Mexico

Casimir wiped the sweat off his brow. He had expected heat, but this was extreme. Even at night it was blistering hot out, and the humidity meant everything had a glean of condensation on it. He grabbed a rag and wiped his face, wringing it out. Before him were 30 or so of the finest soldiers the Federation had to offer, ready to follow his commands. Stuffing the rag in his pocket, he finished just in time to hear his second in command speak.

"Alright everyone, quiet! The Lt. Colonel's going to brief us on the misson! Gather up!" He yelled out. Casimir stepped forward, and took a deep breath.

"Thank you Luis. Friends, Comrades, Countrymen, lend me your ears. Today we are here on orders of the boss himself, the Head Director has picked us to go forward and carry out his mission. We are to move with haste towards Tenochtitlan, where we will insert quietly into the city through friendly rebel elements there. After that, we are to make our way to the Capitol District and take out a man named Major General Hector Cabal. He is in charge of the Tenochtitlan military district, and killing him will cause utter chaos in the National forces. So lets go people, we gotta move out!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tenochtitlan, Mexico
Casimir and on of his Lt.'s, Tomas Wijtkowski, were stationed on top of a building. Casimir didn't trust anyone but himself to take the shot, because one miss could mean failure. Wijtkowski was with him, spotting for him as he held his rifle in place. The other 30 or so men at his command were down below, ready to rush in and finish the job should he fail, but also to cover their retreat. If they were lucky tonight they could murder several top brass, but there target was General Cabal.
"Bodies leaving the building," whispered Wijtkowski.
Casimir could see them. A parade of men in military uniform out and moving towards some unmarked vehicles. This had to be them... but where was he? At the front, maybe eager to leave the danger of the open air... no. At the back, waiting to see if anyone would get shot in front of him... no. Maybe he was in the middle... yes! Casimir, readied his rifle, "Eyes on target." He steadied his gun, exhaled, and pulled the trigger. He did it again, and again.
Wijtkowski yelled out now, there was no point in hiding their presence, "Hit. Miss. Hit. Okay, lets leave before an RPG hits us in the face."
They grabbed their gear and ran out the back. Holding their SMGs, they met up with the rest of the platoon, some of whom were trading bullets with the bodyguard of the General. As they retreated, Casimir heard Luis yell out to him:
"You shot him Colonel, you killed the General! Let's get back behind our lines and celebrate!"
Tenochtitlan, Mexico
As the artillery fire from the Free Mexican lines ceased, the Karthspiri soldiers readied up for an advance on the city. Free Mexican rebels made their way into the city along Highway 1 whilst their Karthspiri allies, led in the field by the General Medora Direnni, began to advance, pressing forward with columns of Tanks along Highway 85 and Highway 136D, followed by APCs carrying Infantry who'd be crucial in the grim close-quarters fighting that was to come. Passing over them every now and again, one could make out the visage of a Karthspiri Attack Craft as it made its way through the air; leaving behind only the howl of its engines and the fire they dropped on their city.
As they began to move into the city itself, the front lines of Karthspiri Tanks came under heavy fire, quickly levelling any building which even showed a sign of harbouring resistance to their advance. Behind them, the APCs began to open up and lines of Karthspiri troops, ready and armed for combat, began to assemble; spreading out into the city to hunt down any sign of resistance.
Operation Paris enters stage two, massive encirclement
--------------------------------------------------------------
As the operation progressed, the French troops slowly pushed 50,000 enemy troops into a trap. The constant pressure caused more and more enemy troops to be relocated to that area, with the enemy government hoping that can help them keep the frontline stable. But little did they know, they were about to experience the worst defeat in their whole military history.
As they were pressed into the tight space that includes Western Jalisco, and some of Northern Colima, steaming French warships moved to blockade the entire coastline of that region. Then, using a group of attack transports, a naval invasion landed 10,000 elite French soldiers in Puerto Vallarta, and they quickly advanced farther inland, until another 10,000 advancing Karthspiri volunteers connected them with the rest of the allied frontline.
With a blockade blocking the coast of Colima and Jalisco, and a division of Karthspiri volunteers connecting a large division of elite French soldiers with the Allied frontline, the massive army of 50,000 enemy soldiers, were encircled. Considered to be one of the biggest encirclements in military history, its a huge victory for the French, and a horrible defeat for the Nordamese Government.
With massive shelling from French battleships on the coast, massive shelling from French artillery on land, massive bombardment from the French bombers, and a huge amount of French and Karthspiri troops pushing in on them, a lot of commanders in certain areas of the encirclement surrendered almost immediately. Anyone who refused to surrender though, are being absolutely annihilated in a hopeless attempt to break free.
The farther French troops push, the tighter the area of encirclement gets. It has only been a few weeks in, and the enemy has already taken 15,000 casualties, with barely any casualties on the French side.
To make this encirclement end faster, the French high command, in accordance with the United Workers Federation, has initiated Operation Marianne.
The rest of the information is kept classified by the government.
But according to the French High Command: "It will cause anarchy in the encircled region, and in midst of the confusion thousands will turn themselves in and surrender. The encirclement will be much easier."
Autlán, Mexico
The cadre of fighters exited their vehicles, and walked up to a quiet house on the outskirts of the town. If this were not a somewhat large farm, the two semi trucks arriving in the dead of night may arouse suspicion.Casimir & Luis walked cautiously over to the grain silo, a designated meeting point with their contact. Casimir stepped underneath the light, and said the code phrase, "Marseille, it's Warszawa, how's things back home?"
"Marianne is looking well," Said a voice, with a young Frenchman appearing from the darkness, smiling, "How's it going Casimir? Ready to kill some Generals?"
"Aye, I hope you are as well." he replied.
"Ah yes I am. Together we will eliminate two top Mexican generals, cut the head off of this encircled pocket, and make history for both our countries!"
"Well friend, well. Let us chat later," He looked at his watch, "For now we only have 5 hours march out and set up this mission before daylight arrives."
"Let's go then, come, follow me" Replied Marseille. Casimir waved his hand over to the men waiting by the truck. They picked up all their bags and started marching out into the night.
It was now mid morning. Casimir, Luis, and Marseille were watching over a small hut in the mountains. Nothing of note, except for the 3 transport vehicles of the National Socialist government that were moving up to it. Hopefully all it would take it a few moments of waiting to kill their prey.
"Tell them it's time Luis," he ordered. And with that Luis spoke something into his radio, and the grass in front of the them ruffled slightly. Were it not for his prior knowledge, he would have no clue 30 men lay in ambush directly in front of him, Casimir thought. The trio behind them were concealed neatly behind some rocks, the Lt. Colonel only poking his head out to see when the moment was opportune to blow the small hut sky high. The vehicles now stopped, and out stepped several men of high rank, according to the amount of medals on their chest & patches on their shoulders. They were about to step inside, when one lowly guard stepped inside, he found the door unlocked. Soon the whole of the grouping was on high alert, Casimir knew their plan was about to go off the rails.
"Now Luis, blow it now!" He yelled out, and Luis instinctively pressed down the detonator. As he did, a massive explosion emanated from the hut, knocking nearly everyone to their feet, and sending that lowly guard flying 10 metres backwards. The car closest to the building was flipped upside down, and exploded in short order. The Federation's finest leapt out of hiding, and instinctively started downing anyone with a gun. Some Mexican troops managed to find cover, but if they were not downed already Casimir could pick them off with his sniper rifle. In a few short moments, the fighting was over, and Casimir rushed down to meet the men, followed closely by Luis & Marseille.
He started barking out orders, "Let's get triage set, our critical men first, then theirs, then the non-critical. I want anyone rank Lieutenant & Above on our choppers if they aren't already dead or about to be dead in 5 minutes. Get me confirmation Perez & Rodriguez have been dealt with. Set up a perimeter, they might have called for reinforcements or someone might have seen the explosion. Marseille, call in our escape route, alright!" Marseille unpacked a phone from his vest and dialed someone up, "Envoyer les hélicoptères. Je répète, envoie des hélicoptères, Cinq minutes. Marseille lion."
In about 10 minutes 4 helicopters appeared over the horizon, wearing the roundels of the French Air Force. In quick succession, they landed and picked up everyone still alive. Casimir cheered, no men had been lost during this mission, they had taken out their targets, and even managed to capture a few high ranking officers. As they flew off towards friendly airspace, both French and Pole sang La Marsaillaise, the UWF national anthem, and cheered together.
A statement from the President's Office
"Good evening, I am speaking to you know from the Office of the President of the Republic of Washington. This terrible and escalating conflict that has been going on in Mexico has reached a fever pitch. We have seen the government and the rebels of Mexico battling it out in the streets and in the countryside, taking the lives of countless civilians and endangering assets deemed crucial to the American Treaty Coalition Organization. The onset of this civil war has also brought in, a very unwelcome, foreign presence to the region. In an area of the world where many have no business, with the exception of moral grandstanding, they trough around and try to enforce their influence. With New Zealand being the only invited exception, all non-ATCO nations are being given this notice: You will halt all growth in troop numbers and ships deployed to the Gulf region. You are to begin the process of leaving the region, as this is not your domain. The nations of the American Treaty Coalition Organization will be solely responsible for the stabilization and security of it. That is why, as of this hour, Washingtonian naval assets will be tightening the noose around the warzone. Ports such as Veracruz will be given a very close blockade of that port will be initiated, and non-ATCO vessels will not be allowed into the harbor. It is time to end this end this crisis, and bring stability back to the region. I wish you all a good night, and god speed to all our soldiers headed into the fight."
CENTRAL COMMAND
With escalation due to foreign entanglements growing, the President has authorized the deployment of upwards of 150,000 soldiers and marines to be deployed to Mexico.
Preparing to embark is the following:
-1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th, 29th, and 41st Infantry Divisions
-19th Airborne Division
-1st Armored Division
-1st Marine Division
-3rd Air Cavalry Brigade
-9th Armored Cavalry Regiment
-11th Cavalry Division (Air Assault)
-1st Marine Fighter Wing
First units to arrive will be the 11th Cavalry, 1st Marine Division, and 9th Armored Cavalry Regiment at the Canal Zone. The 19th Airborne will be conducting a combat jump at an undisclosed location. The rest will arrive at Veracruz.
The Panama Canal Zone
Orders are given to the 106th Armored Cavalry Regiment as well as the 2nd Battalion, 111th Airborne Brigade to move out and create a larger perimeter around the Washingtonian sector of the canal. The MBTs of the regiment push forward to wipe out any resistance that might stand in the way.
The Gulf of Mexico
Ships of the 3rd and 7th Fleets tighten their blockade around the ports of Mexico. The carriers of the 3rd and 7th launch combat patrols to deter vessels from getting too close to the line and to ward off small vessels with flybys.
Submarines from the 3rd Fleet in particular begin stalk foreign vessels as they get close to the warzone.
Shelvastritt Ofical í Áralnárr'Arkjalínn
Official Statement from the Office of the Prime Minister
"Tilshaithnánn Karthspirije and good morning, afternoon, evening or night to all those watching. I am sure that, in the minds of many who are watching, there is very little doubt as to why it is I am speaking so publicly today but for those who, for whatever reason there may be, do not know why it is the bloody and escalating situation in Mexico in-which our Empire has found itself entangled. For those who may have forgotten why it is we have found ourselves entangled in a land far beyond the borders of our great nation, I would wish to remind you that it was the protection of Karthspiri shipping and citizens harassed by the so-called "Mexican National Government", actions described by many as illegal, which has resulted in our Mexican entanglement. Since our entry into the theatre, after our reasonable requests were denied, not only have we sought to end the conflict that has created a death toll far too acceptable for any morally upstanding nation to stomach but we have attempted to do so quickly, ethically and alongside negotiation with concerned parties. However, with the recent announcements made by one such party it seems as though our wholehearted and pure intentions have either been ignored or have failed for some, evidently, ill explained reason."
The Prime Minister stops for a moment, staring straight down the barrel of the camera before clearing her throat
"To the party who has recently taken it upon themselves to threaten the Karthspiri-led Hidalgo Task Force, we wish to inform you that we had no previous intentions of boosting troop numbers in the region as our current forces in the area, alongside Free Government forces, were already capable of winning a decisive victory and completing our short-term strategic goals. However, in-line with recent events I have informed Task Force members, as well as her majesty Empress Thyra, of my intention to not only increase Karthspiri troop numbers in Mexico from 80,000 to 100,000 but also the dispatch of the Karthspiri Pacific Task Force group to the theatre.
Currently, as part of our commitment to the Hidalgo Task Force, we have several ships in the area led, first and foremost, by the Emperor Sindlanil class Carrier KRS Emperor Sindlanil. With the planned dispatch of the Pacific Task Force to the region, the Royal Karthspiri Navy will be operating with a full, standard fleet of ships in the area alongside French ships still operating in the region. Whilst this is a measure designed to combat threats made to us by 3rd parties, we are still, and as always, open to negotiation over such issues and the way for diplomacy is still open. An escalation is not what we wish, but I will not be known as the Prime Minister who allowed the Karthspiri tiger to be cowed.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Last week, the president of Washington announced a full intervention in the war. Washington is sending their navy to blockade Veracruz and tighten control on the Gulf of Mexico, and in response, along with the Karthspiri Navy, a huge portion of the French Navy will be dispatched from its ports and into the Gulf of Mexico.
Prime minister Faux De'Luffon responded to these actions with a speech held only a few hours ago:
"Last week, the Washingtonian Army has declared a blockade over Veracruz, and has sent many divisions to fight in the war in Mexico.
I respond simply by saying this: You have no right. You simply have no right. You claim we have no right, but we are fighting for the liberty of the people. You are fighting under the pathetic excuse that "North America is ATCO territory."
You know what I call this? Imperialism! What gives you the right, to step into a war, without any justification except "Oh North America is ours, not yours."
Its not ours, its not yours, its nobodies! It is filled with sovereign nations, and the way you speak makes it sound like you want to control America all for yourself. We are joining in behalf of the people living there, but we have no intent of controlling anything. We are simply freeing people of the shackles of tyranny. You? You have no reason to be participating, no valid excuse! We have every reason to be in this war, but you, you, have no justification! No excuse! No reason!
You seem to believe that you have the right to join wars just because you believe that the whole damn continent is under your control! Are you insane?
See, we have reasons to be in Mexico, as we are fighting for liberty, as France should. But you are simply claiming that you have the right to intervene because ATCO controls North America. You have no right to intervene here, because you have no justified reason.
For your shocking intervention in the war, we will retaliate in the same fashion.
1. We are increasing the number of soldiers that we are sending to Mexico from 60,000 to 80,000
2. We are sending a huge portion of our Mediterranean task force to the Gulf of Mexico, and the entirety of our Pacific Task Force.
3. If you do not back down after these warnings, Franko-Italy will blockade the Panama Canal to all Washingtonian ships until it cancels this outrageous provocation. However, we will keep the canal open to others.
France is on Defcon 3 at the moment, and are ready for a full retaliation if Washington refuses to back down
Operation Paris a huge success, surrounded troops annihilated
--------------------------------------------------------------
Just last week, marked the day when the massive army of 50,000 enemy soldiers in the encircled region finally surrendered. Only 10,000 out of the 50,000 enemy troops survived, with 7,000 of these 10,000 being prisoners, and the remaining 3,000 either injured or missing. The French Army, combined with Karthspiri volunteers, only suffered about 9,000 casualties.
This huge military victory for the French has heavily boosted morale, with cries of "Viva La France!" and the patriotic tune of La Marseillaise being heard across the entire frontline.
As this confident, massive army of battle hardened French troops advance, they advance farther and farther into Northern Mexico, with practically no resistance left after the massive encirclement. If there are any remaining enemy troops, French troops definitely don't see them!
These massive gains have opened a huge whole in the Northern Frontline, and clearly the French troops are taking advantage of it, judging by the huge heaps of landed gained in the last few days after the end of the encirclement.
This also forces many troops in the Government capital of Tenōchtitlan to relocate to this part of the front, weakening all parts of the front, and letting Free Government and Karthspiri Forces advance much more easily.
This massive victory is hugely turning the tide of the war, and is causing the last frontline that the National Government managed to keep stable, collapse right in front of their eyes. As the enemy lose more and more heaps of land, especially in the French part of the frontline, their last hopes of victory slowly fade away.
Tenochitlan, Mexica
Downtown Tenochitlan
The rebels were right across from the parliament building. The government had fortified the now mostly ruined building and were putting up a fight. A young private clutched the flag to be raised on top of the building. He stuffed the flag into his backpack before picking up his rifle. A whistle sounded and they charged the front lines, shooting soldiers down as they made their way to the entrance. After they made their way inside, the commander turned to his troops
"Half of you, get Vasquez. The rest go up and raise the flag"
Parliament Bunker
The division of rebels made their way down the steps of the parliament building, guns drawn. They met with heavy resistance on the way down to their target. After what had to have been thirty minutes of descending seemingly endless flights of stairs they reached the bottom. They made their way to a door and tried opening it, locked. A rebel planted a kicker charge on the door and blew it off its hinges. They rushed in to the bunker where they were met with a single guard and Vasquez. The guard drew his pistol but was shot dead.
"HANDS UP YOU PIG!"
They shouted at Vasquez who had no choice but to give up. One soldier had a video camera that captured the whole thing unfold.
"Please, show me mercy. Don't hurt my family"
The soldiers laughed and kicked him down
"We don't want your family. We're here for you."
They dragged him up the steps screaming the whole time. When they reached the main floor he was thrown in front of a rebel flag and told to kneel. The soldier with the camera set up a tripod as a second loaded a pistol.
"Roberto Vasquez, you have beem condemned to die in accordance with your crimes against the people. Do you have any final words?"
Vasquez lowered his head and started sobbing
"I tried to give you a Mexico you would be proud of"
The soldier with the pistol stepped behind him
"Roberto Vasquez, you will be shot through the head. In accordance with Justice, may God have mercy on your soul"
A shot to the back of the head killed the president instantaneously. He fell forward.
Top Floor Of Parliament
Most of the soldiers had deserted their posts or just sat as thr rebels made their way up to the roof. When they stepped outside a soldier pulled his pistol and shot at the private who fell injured. His sergeant grabbed his knife and stabbed the dumbfounded soldier. The injured private pulled himself to the front of the roof and planted the flag before medics escorted him away. They won the war. The future of Mexico was in their hands now. As they descended to street level, the soldiers were cheering and firing their guns in the air.
A leader is best when no one knows he exists. When his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say 'We did it ourselves.'
