The woman in her early seventies, dressed in a light jacket over a blouse and light-pink skirt, kept a Smith and Wesson Model 29 snubnose under her blouse as a pair of silver Chevy Suburbans pulled up to her house. The widow of a somewhat well-off banker and iDF career veteran, and with parents that survived both the Russian Revolution and the Holocaust, she'd seen quite a bit in her time.

She watched with a smile, squinting her eyes against the sun as several Israeli young men and women exited their cars and approached her house.

"Shalom, Miss Nika." The man at the front, in sunglasses, tan milsurp fatigues and a black mustache, greeted.
"Shalom, Ishmael. It's been quite some time." The woman responded, turning to open her door as the rest followed.

They went downstairs to a cool basement, as a younger housekeeper helped Nika pull out a set of cabinets, crates and chests, pushing away cloth covers and canvasses.

The group from the vans opened each one- arms from across the world that had each landed in Israel somehow, from British Lee-Enfields and French Lebels to Soviet AKMs and American M16A3s.

Ishmael took off his sunglasses, reached into a metal box, and pulled out a Gewehr 43, pulling back the bolt and looking down its sights. The swastika on its reciever had been scratched off a long time ago to accommodate a Star of David.

"With this, we take back our nation... O Israel, the Resistance is coming..."

Out east to Amman or further south." Sully paced the interior of the Dome, setting up anti-air placements, occasionally pointing out locations of the City and the surrounding areas. "Since these Crusaders apparently don't care about collateral damage, we've got to keep an eye on each of our Mosques and vital roads. If possible, we need to the hospital on Mount Scopus, secure that area, and keep it safe from any damage. Other vital areas include the Parliament building and the Governmental Campus, so steer clear of there because you'll most likely come under heavy fire." Suleiman would explain. "Gethsemane and the Sepulchre Church are nearby, and most likely the objectives of this assault, so force them to risk bombing it in order to get through. Get evac orders ready in case the Crusaders decide to bring in the big guns. If they want to hold Jerusalem, they'll hold a pile of rubble their own making!"

A bullet would answer the hidden rifleman, and barely glanced the cover they were hiding behind. "Cover, catch!" Suleiman would order the men to assail the sniper. "Damn my bones, where the hell is the patrolmen?!"

Grabbing his SKS, he would spray fire at the incoming source of rockets to no avail. The APCs needed to swiftly evacuate the Saranadi forces would be damaged. "Just our luck, Salim! Scramble as many vehicles as you can, and get us the hell out of here...I can get us a way out of here on foot, but the Crusaders want us boxed in here with them. I want all heavy equipment out of here, it's drawing too much fire." he paused, cutting of a protest. "That's exactly what I'm doing, I'm letting them have the city if they want it so damn badly. We'll control the surrounding areas and starve them out, or force them to bomb the city for international outcry. Now I want some people who can actually use their eyes and ears to form up with me, and let's hunt down this bastard!"

As the members of the Slick Works Well Control Company listened to the radio back at the Mamilla Hotel they heard some chatter about an oil pipe that was ruptured and was now spewing fiery oil and smoke into the air. As the workers suited up in the conference room, Jennifer Johnson addressed them, "Alright, this fire isn't in the areas we were expecting. This fire is to the south east of Jerusalem and is right in the middle of the fighting. We need to get down there and put it out. I need all of the military veteran workers on site as soon as possible. We're using the traditional 100% Hydroglycerin charge method. Once the workers were finished suiting up in red jumpsuits, heavy flame retardant boots, and helmets they loaded up into a convoy of a dozen Humvees and ten HEMTT trucks with cranes, armored bulldozers, and containers. Had this been any other convoy it would have been a military one but each vehicle was flying two flags, a flag of peace and a Slick Works Well Control Company flag. Once they were ready they immediately headed out towards the area of the fire. As they drove they could see the familiar acrid smoke rising towards the heavens.

Arriving at the scene of the oil fire the workers of the Slick Works Well Control Company realized they were up the literal and proverbial "Shit creek". The pipeline that was hit was spewing ignited oil and some Arabic forces were desperately attempting to put out the inferno with puny fire extinguishers. As the roughnecks dismounted they surveyed the situation. As they were surveying the situation bullets and shells continued to crack over them as they stood like stones out in the open. The only thing protecting them was the red jumpsuits they wore and flimsy blue flags of peace. However, many of these workers were here because the pay was good and the work was fulfilling since they aided the poor and the less fortunate. They were willing to risk their lives for the greater good. Besides, although the crew was comprised of mainly Christians, they ignored the crusaders and stood by the grounds that they, the Muslims, the Jews, and the Crusaders all worshiped a higher power. Once they were complete surveying the situation, they started offloading equipment. The first things they brought out were 3 DC-9 Armored Bulldozers that were surplus bought from the Isratine government a while back. They then started to offload a M320T crane and other equipment.

Across Palestine awaiting Khataiyi advisors the unified Jabhat Ansar al-Quds rallied multiple armed resistance factions mainly from the Popular Resistance Committees, Fatah and Hamas with Communist and Pro-Iranian factions excluded under Khataiyi orders and Hamas only accepted given the nature of the situation as Hamas is considered by Khataiy to be an Iranian puppet. Khataiyi agents had supplied PRC and Fatah for years with weapons and during the mobilization plans were being made to storm Jerusalem from multiple directions and carry out a series of armed attacks on Israeli settlements in the west bank to take hostages to use as ransom and leverage while homemade rockets began firing at various locations to wage a psychological campaign of fear.

Plans were also being drawn up to attack Slick Works Well Control Company and to burn more oil wells to hurt Israel economically and to create a smoke screen so enemy air craft can't see the ground.

As the workers were unloading equipment a bullet snapped very close to them. Without a moment's hesitation everyone ducked down behind the vehicles. Once they were in cover many of them raised their hands above the hoods and walls of the vehicles and flipped off the sniper. As they stayed in cover, one employee who was a former sniper in The Armed Forces of The Chuck took off his helmet and raised it up above cover. A few seconds later it shattered as it was struck by a round. He counted the seconds and ran a mental calculation through his head. "Boys, that sniper is about 0.9 miles from our position. By the looks and sounds of it I'd say he's (OOC: we obviously don't know it's a girl) using something bigger then a .30 caliber. Probably an anti-material rifle. The armor plates on the DC-9 bulldozer should be enough to stop the rounds though so I'll attempt to get into one of them and form an earthworks for us to work behind." With that the worker without a helmet made a mad dash across open ground to get to the DC-9 bulldozer. As he ran he could hear and feel rounds cracking around him.

The conflict was all over Calidian news. Calidia was thousands of miles away, yet there was something that had to be done.

President Petit led Captain Laurent into the conference room with their arms linked. The room was full of disheveled, tired state advisors and a couple High Command folks.

"Your Excellency..." Petit pulled out a seat for the Captain, who thanked her and took the seat. "I'm sure you're well aware of what's going on in Israel right now."

Laurent coughed and rubbed his brow. He doffed his hat and then began fanning himself with it. "Too aware, Madame La Presidente."

Long story short, after a heated debate at what to do, some calling for neutrality, one calling for favoring a lesser of two evils, and the President believing in a peacekeeping mission. The small council came to the President's side after she gave a speech and received the Captain's vocal support.

Loading up onto a series of US-bought transport craft, and a small escort of French-bought Dassault Rafale fighters, 1,200 Calidian soldiers equipped banners of both Calidia and the humanitarian dove and departed. A couple armored infantry vehicles, a tank, and a plane-full or two of supplies came with as well. They took a stop in Labrador in friendly Canada, refueled, and then did the same in London. At both places, small attachments of Red Cross joined the air fleet. Finally, they went to Israel, and made a landing.

The 1,200 moderately armed soldiers arrived, declaring a neutral stance on the conflict but noted that they would not take no for an answer. The force spread out on a sort of non-invasive beachhead and began helping around, providing medical assistance where it was possible.

A Calidian motorcade of trucks, a few APCs, and a single tank began to approach the Slick Works group off in the distance from what would be considered 'behind' relative to the battleground. The banner of the humanitarian faction, the dove, and the Calidian Cross of Burgundy were on each vehicle quite visibly.

In the distance, a small squadron of Calidian fighter jets flew along the horizon.

As the rounds started to fly back towards the Saradinians the workers cautiously rose out of cover. The worker who had jumped on the bulldozer decided against building the earthworks since it would also provide cover for the Saradinians and make the area they were in more of a target. He hopped off and ran over to one of the newer workers. "Hey son, take these binoculars. If I'm right I believe the sniper should be somewhere out there *points in the general direction of the sniper*. If you see a glint that means she's looking back at us. If you do see a glint, yell and we'll all dive for cover. Anyways time to put out this fire." While the two workers were talking, others had opened up one of the containers and started rolling out 55 gallon oil drums packed with high explosives and fire retardant chemicals. While they prepared the explosive barrels other workers fired up the M320T crane and readied the hoist. Once the explosives were prepped the workers attached it to the crane hook and the operator started to move the volatile bundle closer and closer to the fiery inferno. As they worked the one employee with the binoculars signaled that there was a convoy approaching that was also flying the flag of peace.
