I was unaware of the OOC thread. The last thing I want is to disrupt a thread. In fact, I will be deleting the post I made in the IC thread, as I indicated I had no trouble doing previously.

The back story on Damnage--the reason he has "gone native" with the humans--is that, while he was working as a Diplomat from Hell, his Demon Lord host decided he knew too much and tried to feed him to another demon, an eater demon named Slabbaflab. Damnage managed to portal himself out of the demon's throat on his way down, and earth is where he ended up. He eventually learned to blend in and came to sympathize with the 'noids, as he calls us.

Also, I normally write Damnage with a very comedic aspect. He has a mocking name--he calls it a Damnage name--for everyone he meets, but he only thinks those names, he never tells anyone. Thus, in a thread called "The White Tower," where the wizard Eldrad could read his mind, there was considerable concern as to why the wizard was referred to as "Oldbag." A ghost who took the form of a boy became "Darwin Award" et cetera. I'm trying to write a novel with Damnage as the main protagonist. You may run into some of the other characters from that novel if I am allowed to participate. Sister Envox is one of those characters. There is also an Avenging Angel named Brother Flatus.

Another thing to think about: it is traditional to put a link to the OOC thread of a group in the first post of the IC thread.

CODE: SELECT ALL
Example Image (Optional):
Race: Red Gargoyle Demon
Class: Fighter/mage
STRENGTH 15
DEXTERITY 15
CONSTITUTION 12
INTELLIGENCE 10
WISDOM 8
CHARISMA 12
Intelligence Interests (1 + INT Modifier. If INT mod is -1, skip this.):
Starting Equipment: a locket that bears the picture of the woman he killed with love
Biggest Sin(s): He's a demon! What do you expect? He's rude, drinks too much and can't sit still. But he's taken a non-lethality vow, so at least he won't eat you alive.

Backstory:
Damnage's ovum was laid in an archeologist. He matured and pupated in this human's body, as did all of his species at the time, and then took his place in the infantry of the underworld. Owing to the fact that he retained his host's ability to read, among other things, he rose through the ranks and was transferred into the underworld's Diplomatic Corps.

He escaped the underworld when the information reached him that his master, the Demon Prince SmashMouth, had come to feel that he knew too much about an ongoing conflict. He was to be fed to an Eater Demon named Slabbaflab, but opened a magic portal right in Slaboflab’s esophagus. He once again entered earth, where he took human form and tried to blend in.

He took up living with a temple prostitute in the city of Gomorra. Though he became close with the human, he used his tail stinger to give her enjoyable interludes. At the time, he was unaware of the digestive enzymes in the venom. He learned the hard way. It killed her. Then, he found that another demon controlled the temple, and had used him to deal with a temple prostitute, who was too free-spirited and independent for the controlling demon’s liking. Damnage trashed the temple, exposing and killing the demon, and the city did not survive the turmoil that followed. (See shot story, “The Gomorra Incident,” published in the Gratista Vampire Clan’s anthology, “A Look Into the Mirror Darkly.”)

Then, he took to living as a farm hand for about ten years in the land of Yendor. It was during this time that he learned to pass as a human. One day, as he was plowing the fields, he noticed that things were too quiet. A troop of (other) Red Gargoyle Demons were attacking the town and trying (and often succeeding) to impregnate the townspeople. Together with the farmer and a few other friends, he moved the townspeople into the castle at Yendor Keep. Once there, he found out that the local ruler, a man by the name of Duke Rodney ("Rodney" is "Yendor" spelled backwards) was in league with the demons. It was during this time that he was completely turned and ceased to be a Creature of Darkness--though the process leading up to this took many years. With the Court Sorcerer and a few other friends, he thwarted the Duke's evil plans. The few remaining demons carried the Duke off and did who knows what (I'll leave it to your imagination) with him. And, from this, the underworld learned that he walked the land. They have a policy against unlicensed realmwalkers, so...they sent a little Sanitation Detail—only about 10,000 troops. Its purpose was to turn the extinct volcano (Mount Yendor) into which Yendor Keep was built from a mountain to a crater, and the Town of Yendor into a little red smudge on the map.

With the help of the Court Sorcerer and a few others (as in just about everyone left in the castle), Damnage faked the eruption of Mount Yendor. And it almost worked--convinced that the town had met its demise, the Sanitation Detail was about to return to the underworld when somebody sneezed. Fortunately, several unwinged Angels were on hand, and, after making short work of the demon army, got their wings back. This left the townsfolk healthy, happy and alive. Oh, and the Court Sorcerer, a corrupt, greedy man, ended up in the Duke's seat. When he tried to capture Damnage and turn him into a medical sample, Damnage spread his wings, took off and never looked back. (See forthcoming novel, “Paying Hell.”)

After another interlude, he met the Grand Wizard Yendor, who had founded Yendor Keep. The Wizard tricked him and put him in a bottle, to be kept in The Lab until needed. During this time, Marvel became proficient in the Yendorian Magical Framework, a method of simplifying and quantifying magic. Eventually, Yendor released Marvel, and the two became fast friends—though there are rumors of a magical Prank War that is going on between them. (For events leading up to the prank war, see the short story “Boobs,” to be published in the April issue of “Dark Gothic Resurrected.”)

Trace wrote:One delay after the next, one thing to do after another and now? Confusion. It has come to my attention the OOC thread is surprisingly harder to locate than the IC thread. No idea how this is possible, other than maybe posting the two threads under different nations instead of Trace solely. Any suggestions to make the OOC thread more obvious to find (if that is even possible) would be appreciated.

MineLegotia and Equestria has their characters accepted, so that's good. I should get to creating a short list of approved players and their characters when I have the time (along with helping in creating Novaya's characters. Again, delays.)

There is a much more pressing issue with SF n F. I should probably be speaking of this in private, but since a lot of things are still somewhat in construction, I feel I should allow others to share opinions on this:

I don't mind having others roleplay a few of my own NPCs, provided they do not cross the line in how these people would normally behave, such as forming highly questionable alliances, making extremely impulsive decisions, or rambling on about all topics completely irrelevant to the story's events (unless the NPC in question is quite literally a rambling idiot).

I have a few problems with this post right here: viewtopic.php?p=35084200#p35084200

While certain monsters outside of the currently established races may be allowed, I'm extremely unsure about playable demons. The demons are, after all, one of the two major antagonists of this entire game. For them to not only take part in the fight against the demons (I think?), there is also the critical issue of them working with angels (For some reason?), and wanting to ally with Mainicksto. There are spoilers regarding Mainicksto, which is why I won't really elaborate further on that point.

I'm not saying SF n F is not invited to the game, I'm just saying it would help to clarify some things here in the OOC thread, to help sort out situations such as this. I'm going to refrain from posting in the IC thread for now partially because of all the other stuff I need to take care of, but also so SF n F may edit or delete their post in case they feel it is necessary.

Put a disclaimer above the prologue.

Also...how on earth did EMUE's post contain infiltrators in Mainicksto? Did he just had them infiltrated Mainicksto or what?

Indeed my problems stemmed from the fact that I was unable to locate the OOC thread. When it was brought to my attention that there was a sign-up thread, I deleted my post in the IC thread and made an application.

The thing about Damnage is that he's been on earth for a long time. "Paying Hell" is set in the middle ages. "The Gamora Incident," which actually got published, is set in biblical times. He's had enough time to "go native," and his values to have changed to the point where he will try to turn other demons.

Of course, Hell will torture him to death if they catch him. This, however, only helps to motivate him.

Another thing to watch for is that he's not as smart as you might think he is. He's been around longer than the language that he speaks, so it's only natural that he should have a reasonably big vocabulary, if he chooses to show it.

I'll edit this later, once I know the biggest sins, cuz they were not listed in the character apps. And after I received a TG from Trace whether "None" or "Unknown" is okay.

Fuck it: Game over. There's too much shit for me to deal with and handle, too much stress and time constraints, and too little communication and general confusion regarding the rules and character setups. It was obvious I'm over my head with this whole project and I should've stopped rather than allowing pressure to push the assembling of this game onwards. If there is another such game similar to this (and this time there is no promise), then it will have to follow a completely different story and set of standards.

Hey, this game can wait. We all shall wait while you deal with everything you had to handle.

I'll have to completely re-do everything. This little project of mine has been rushed as hell and the story either needs a lot of revising, or just being scrapped and replaced with something better. I'm sorry, but at the moment this is shit.

You're not the only one with problems, if anything I should be the one beating myself more about my tendency to procrastinate, even if what I'm doing has a deadline.

This, on the other hand, has no time limit, take your time, because I sure as hell am too.

Edit: Redoing things is fine, just be sure to have a link to the thread of your next RP.

That much I can promise. What I can't promise is when or if I will even get another RP going. I know I want to though. In fact, I think for anyone still here and curious, you should post suggestions on what you'd like to see in my next roleplay should I indeed pick speed on it once again.

To avoid attracting too much attention to this particular game's threads, which are kind of dead by now, everyone should instead telegram about it to Trace. There's no way I can promise your ideas will come up in the roleplay, but if I like it enough, I might consider making room for it.

I clicked on the link and got "the requested topic does not exist."

I was going to read the most and then edit or delete, as per instruction, but...alas, no opportunity.

Likewise, I was going to write a post here explaining that there is a comedic bent to my characters and showing some of the ways they are (One of the Angels is named "Brother Flatus")...but...alas, same thing.

Best wishes, all! I hope I wasn't too much of a pain.

I'm still around.

I don't have it fully laid out yet, but I've been working on a 1920's roleplay with Redfell being at the helm of it. I can't give out full details, other than Redfell will be a city-state in France. In addition to some French themes, there will also be elements of occultism thrown in. Redfell will be undergoing a shift in economics as the French government gives permissions to establish a socialist government as an experiment to see if a less violent form of communism is reasonably possible. This comes around the same time an underground cult is having its own issues and decides now is the time for the end times to arrive. This roleplay will primarily be based off of Episode 3 from Blood: One Unit Whole/Fresh Supply, and a few similar games I love such as DUSK, Eldritch Reanimated and the upcoming Gloomwood.

Oh, and also Fallout 1. Why Fallout 1? Well I was looking into the first game a bit and heard of a "controversy" where the game would reach a guaranteed failure if the player takes 500 days too long to stop the super mutant armies. Then I remembered about how NationStates forums have a 500 page limit rule. So I'm thinking each thread page will also mark a day. Oh yeah; this might prove to be a very long game! I'll try and keep things up to speed by having a Redfellian business publishing news with every fresh post I make on a new page. I'll also try visiting real-life events as a reference for incidents that might happen in the future.

I'm not sure if I should say more, since I tend to be a little indecisive and anything could change from now to when I actually get around to posting that IC, as things have been for quite a long time now. I'll admit, this game I'm setting up might be too ambitious. One thing I will say though is there will be at least two playable races: The humans, and the robots. Yes, even though this is the 1920s, robots will be allowed. This is because a few of the NationStates policies for countries will be used to provide bonuses for your characters at the start of their creation. "AI Personhood" in particular implies robot citizens, and I've decided to allow robot characters so long as they follow a Steampunk aesthetic, or at least are well-enough explained for how they are able to exist. I'm hoping to add more races, but that will require explanation for each race on how they can exist within this universe and time frame. As a side note: Human races (African, Caucasian, etc..) may either be noted or ignored, depending on player preferences. If choosing to play with these preferences in mind, some characters will react positively while others not so much. Think of it as a sort of adaptive difficulty.

Oof, well there I went again, saying more. Anyways, that's what is up. Internet dead, back to life, still trying to get an interesting roleplay up and running. I shouldn't be giving out deadlines, especially considering how hectic my life is, but I'm hoping to get this roleplay up before November of this year. I guess until then, you and anyone else here are free to telegram ideas to Trace. Redfell will be hosting, but I did (attempt to) start this game with Trace. Also I've recently been communicating with Novaya Equestria via Redfell, and I don't wish to force a telegram issue as I often do!

Everyone who has ever posted here (and didn't CTE) will receive a telegram when the new roleplay is ready to begin.
