Trace wrote:I just added three more classes, and will add another three shortly. Hopefully tonight, if I still feel awake. The three new classes are: Beast Tamer, Cavalier and Druid. These are all intended to be more oriented around animal companions. Both the Beast Tamer and Cavalier are perhaps the least-involved in magic and should be relatively straight-forward. The Druid though is more magic-oriented, especially given the fact they may shapeshift into any animal that is of equal or lower difficulty then they. So at the moment, roughly speaking, anything from a house cat to a pseudodragon (which is basically a dragon the size of a house cat AND DOES NOT BREATHE FIRE!).
I might add in three more classes. And also yes, I should be creating the IC thread NOW, but I'm honestly wishing for somebody else to fill out character data as well. Everything is in place for the most part, but I don't want people to just JUMP IN. I want them to enter the game with characters. I have insisted this time and time again, but I have to emphasize: This roleplay is primarily character/squad based, not your usual NS II game of commanding armies. There might be such a thing later down the game, but even if that does happen, the game itself is still an RPG primarily.Danceria wrote:I'm just basically a member of the Society of Thule going through hard times, maybe even had worked with TRACE at one point but now is a scrapper.
You still need to fill out an application for character creation. If you want me to generate a backstory, or even a character for you, just ask Fondheart. Or you could telegram me just as well, but this nation's inbox is a little cluttered at the moment.
As for a backstory right off the bat? Here goes:You were a former member of Trace back when it was the Tactical Rescue and Anti-Corruption Echelon (TRACE), an anti-corruption espionage branch of the United Nations. You joined based on inspiration of the Founder's intentions: Keeping politicians accountable and saving lives. During an operation to spy on an American politician with extremist right-wing beliefs, (Although not wrong on this particular character, the TRACE Founder did have a noticeable left-wing bias.) you were discovered, caught, and knocked out. When you woke up you were greeted by the Thule Society, which revealed of their plans to cripple the UN by having TRACE go rogue and declaring war on them, and sending a message to the "Zionist Occupation Government (ZOG)."
As a new member of the Thule Society, and returning to what is now Trace, you operated as a military commander, but frequently recruited Thule Society members who knew how to act like the Founder's perspective of ideal Trace agents. The Trace Founder, by now calling himself the "Theater Commander," foolishly trusted you enough to personally assist alongside Trevisani in defending the old capital of Trace. In reality the both of you betrayed him and allowed the Global Defense Forces (the UN's latest, far more aggressive and even more controversial answer for replacing TRACE and fighting terrorism) to invade and kill the Theater Commander.
However you were played just as well. Trevisani, now declaring himself the new Theater Commander, betrayed his promise of promoting you to Strike Commander (essentially a second-in-command to the Theater Commander). The cold truth is Trevisani is part of an international mafia organization and wanted to use Trace as a personal army to help move illegal supplies around the globe with greater ease then was ever made possible. The Thule Society knew this well and didn't much care, partially due to the Trevisani Clan being close allies since the rise of Benito Mussolini (of whom both sides supported).
As to why you were betrayed? Simple: You were a capable commander. Too capable, in fact. In addition to your fascinating leadership skills and your knowledge of the occult, Trevisani feared you could pose problems for his empire in the future. To ensure this he had his "associates" rig information regarding your ancestral backgrounds to heavily imply you are mainly of Jewish, Irish and Slavic descent. The Thule Society didn't want to believe the false evidence, but their orthodox traditions and past stories of betrayal forced them to shun you out. They were nice enough to decide you need not die, but they did cripple you.
After your final meeting with the Thule Society, you awoke within a mental institution. You had physical control of nothing more than your vision and an index finger, both of which being your only means of communications. You've been forced to undergo humiliating physical inspections and cleanups, being mistreated and insulted by the shoddy institute staff, and generally live a life within a seemingly sterilized Hell. Your inner thoughts were even more taunting, especially at night where Trace, GDF and Thule Society members are all looking, laughing, and physically attacking you while all you can do is sit in restraints and cry. Not even in your mind you had freedom, until one day...
A mysterious young man claiming to be your bastard son arrives to the mental institute with two others claiming to be step-siblings. Upon reaching you they suddenly pulled out guns, but not to kill you. With the rest of the institute staff dead, and seemingly no police arriving, they escorted you into an ambulance and carried you away. When you wake up this time, you feel unusually healthy and re-connected with occult magic, although quite limited in powers now. Quickly inspecting yourself, you see that, while quite similar, this is not your body you are in.
Your three "heroes" reveal themselves to actually be agents of Mainicksto, an occult society that always sought to contain occult magic even in the year 2040 where two decades have passed and much of the world has changed. They know who you really are and wish for you to assist the organization in their goals to stop the demons and eldritch horrors from invading Earth. In return they promise not just to heal you back to normal if not more powerful than ever before, but there's another caveat: Rumors are confirmed of Trace and the Thule Society in alliance with the evil armies seeking to invade. Mainicksto is giving you a chance, possibly, to strike revenge into your betrayers.
Are you ready for vengeance?

Intelligence Interests (1 + INT Modifier. If INT mod is -1, skip this.):
Starting Equipment: 2 magnums, wartime rations X15, generic clothing outfit
Biggest Sin(s): Wrath
Backstory: Most of Wight's memories have been a blur, until he was rescued from the clutches of a demon by the pair calling themselves Lyr and Draken, and instead bound to join their "small task force", a group of 7 officially part of Mainicksto based in South East Asia.
The past 8 years have been an interesting time, to say the least, moving around the world to recover specific artefacts, occasionally ignoring Mainicksto's interests and leaving most holy items untouched. Yet all good times must eventually come to an end, for it was a few nights prior that he started having nightmares, nightmares where a wolf of immense size chased him to a mirror, where he would see a reflection of the monstrous beast behind him.
As he cleared the fog surrounding his past, he had come to realize that he wasn't saved from the beast, and that his allies once worked against his interests, yet, he can't bring himself to turn his back on them now, not after all they've went through together. It was a fact that continues to haunt him, gnawing at his consciousness, threatening to break whatever has been holding the monster from within from emerging.
Whether he would embrace the beast within or the human without is still beyond himself, but he was sure that he would find out soon.
Unique lose conditions (suggestion): Starts with a small amount of corruption, corruption cannot fall below half of this value.
Should wisdom fall to 8 and intelligence rise to 16, this character berserks and attacks allies and enemies alike until all are dead, before killing himself.
