A cold war has officially gone hot.

The anarcho-capitalist República Libertad de Chile (Liberated Chile) and its client-states of Peru and Ecuador, united by President-General Junia Pinochet, makes the decision to display a show of force to the communist Federación Popular Bolivariana de Venezuela (The Federation/Venezuela-Bolivia) due to their growing opposition to democracy and their annexation of Guyana and Suriname, as well as their capturing of neutral Brazilian territory to connect the two nations.

Supported through aid and arms by the United States and Columbia, what was meant to be a confident, clean psychological operation has dissolved into chaos and violence.
After an information leak, as well as the holdup of the Chilean Navy at the neutral Panama Canal, the show has slowed to a standstill.
Furious, and wanting to call Chile’s bluff, General Mateo Almagro, the leader of the People’s Federation, has declared war on Chile and its allied states, mobilizing the Federation’s land forces to wall off pro-Republic forces from Bolivia and their newly-acquired territory in Amazonia. Small clashes at the borders by Federation border patrol and Chilean mercenaries have already occurred.

With countries assembling on either side, what will be your nation’s next act?

Will you secure liberal democracy in Latin America, stop Venezuela-Bolivia’s ruthless expansion, protect the rights of the market, and stand with the Republic?

Will you liberate the long-suffering workers of the continent under the Pinochet regime once more, establish peace in the world, and fight with the Federation?

Or, perhaps, will you spin the conflict to your advantage and take the spoils of victory?

Things to note:

Both nations are puppets of Democratic Exodian Territories. I’ll try to be as completely unbiased as possible. From what I’ve seen, this style of RP can be done.
This is also a practice for another RP done similarly, which takes place in the same universe and will serve as a sort of spiritual prequel.

As such, I will allow 1 additional puppet per nation depending on circumstance, however, it must be announced.

Rules:

1: As per usual, no godmodding or metagaming.
2: While banter is perfectly fine, no bullying or flaming- the latter will warrant a ban.
3: Use this thread for all extended OOC discussion.
4: No obvious powerwanking or exploiting “PMT” to the point of being incredibly close to Future Tech.
5: No deployment of WMDs unless for appropriate IC reasons. It's likely I won't even allow them at all in some cases.
6: Be considerate to fellow roleplayers who aren’t as well-versed in science, academics, or military strategy.
7: Some smaller countries or nations with less influence may have a puppet nation. Puppets are largely a case-by-case basis, however. To be clear: you may only have ONE on each side. If I catch you doing something else, you’ll know it. (Such warrants a ban, if that wasn’t obvious.)
8: Limit on 800 direct combatants to start. Naval forces are are limited to 7 ships of any kind to start with. The only exception are air forces.
