Government seats, Joint Air Training, and Alician banking

With elections a couple months behind us these are our new government seats and party control.
The house has 109 liberals, 85 conservatives, 4 independents, 1 Cordoba Nationalist (Tejador) , and 1 member from the communist party.
The senate has 50 Conservatives, 49 liberals, and 1 independent.
President Cortez is a member of the liberal party.
Out of the 8 districts. 5 have conservative governors while 3 have liberal governors, if Cordoba is counted in it brings the total to 5 conservative governors 4 liberal governors.

After the meeting between President Cortez and the President of Hulm, Cortez announced Alicia-Hulm forces would begin joint Air training to strengthen ties and better prepare the nations to respond to emergencies in Europe. Alicia and Hulm markets are currently enjoying free trade with companies entering the two nations rapidly.

Alician Insurance and banking company RAMANO have announced they will begin entering Asian markets in the coming month. The company will be offering packages with discounted insurance if you bank with them. The company has announced they plan to add 1000 jobs across Alicia by next month as well.

President Cortez has announced the new Alician aircraft carrier and over haul of the navy and military will be complete on May 20th. The new ship is set to sail May 22nd at a ceremony the President plans to attend.

Another State for Our Glorious Federation
Administrator Emilio Santangel of Toluca was officially sworn in as Governor of Toluca. While the region is still in the process of being divided up into more states, Santangel will be governor of all of Mainland Toluca. President McCarthy has declared Cuba and Hispaniola as being in "States of Chaos". Military forces are being sent to the rebellious states to restore order.

Eric McCarthy issued a speech to the Tolucan people's earlier today, gracious translated to Spanish by the National Media Agency. Here is an excerpt of the speech, graciously provided by the NMA:

Citizens of the State of Toluca, I welcome you to the Federation. May your journey with us as our American brothers be a prosperous and great one. Together, we will beat back the false nations of the Americas. Life will be better under us, as the American Federation is the greatest nation on Earth. We will ensure you enjoy your transition as Americans and the life that entails. Our humble and brave military will make sure that the country is safe and can prosper for all times. The Federation is the only eternal institution.

Some people however have deigned to oppose American life. Dissenters in Cuba and Hispaniola will "be swiftly crushed", according to Matthew Ross, Secretary of Defence.

People who formerly held leadership positions in the Tolucan Government are being transported to Denver to put their skills to the best use as possible. Toluca's former military is also in the process of being integrated with the Federation Military. The navel assets of the Tolucan Navy mark the first time the Federation has possessed a navy in over a century.

Huntz Pharmaceuticals will be entering Carpathia to study the new bacterial infection that is spreading into the nation. The company, in collaboration with its parent HLR, will be funding the program completely - they are not asking for compensation from Carpathia, however, they are seeking 5,000,000 Marks worth of foreign investment to have the best chance of solving the crisis.

HLR has dropped from its 710 billion dollar evaluation a year ago. The company, after the crash of oil prices and the European economic situation, is now worth a meager 298.8 billion. HLR spokespeople are thanking the Landersvichian Kaiser for backing the company and the experts who restructured their bond structure - stating that "Without the efforts of our Empires leadership and the financial experts who we hired, we may not be here right now, that being said, I am hopeful that the company will grow and become more valuable as time goes on."

With the low price of fossil fuels, the company Neue Energie LP, the energy provider of Landersvich, is expecting to grow tremendously. Profits have more than quadrupled due to the rapid drop in fossil fuels prices. Profits already gained have been used in expansion and R&D. The company has also announced that they will be lowering the price of electricity by 25%. This is the largest decrease since 1950. This drop in the prices of oil has also tremendously helped the military. The military will be using the huge amount of money saved to conduct R&D. Laitz Waffen, the company who will be heading the R&D effort will be focusing on what, they believe, the nation is lacking; "Our nation has some of the best equipment, ships, and vehicles, what we are lacking is an advanced Air Force." The company is planning to use the millions saved to research better fighter and bomber technologies. More to come on the issue at a later date.

African News

After the base acquisition in the Igbo Republic, the Landersvichian government plans on sending 5,000 men to the base to occupy, defend, and run the airfield and shipyard. In a statement made by the Defense Minister of Landersvich, he stated: "This base will allow us to protect our interests in Africa, our allies on the continent, and will continue to allow us to develop strong relationships with the nations of the emerging continent." The base is Landersvich's largest foreign military facility. It greatly expands the Landersvichian military's ability to react to threats through the Atlantic and Africa.

Other new in Africa; the nation of Mbale has been struggling with a drought. Landersvichian businesses have offered their help and will do their best to fix the issues. Landersvichian officials are willing to increase aid to the nation if the situation worsens. Many in the government are afraid that a prolonged drought could cause famine for the next year.

President Cortez has announced the government will be urging more banking and insurance companies, much like market leader RAMANO, to enter the African markets. The president also pushed forward with the late President Gaonas policy of helping Olive oil farmers from the home land, Coffee and Sugar farmers from Cordoba, and Tea farmers from Sinhala expand profit and production. The president also pointed on Alicias leading luxury clothing brand making it world wide. The president carried a Bair Jolsonaro hand bag and wore heels from the company during her speech. President Cortez also congratulated congress on approving incentives that would go in affect for water and energy companies that entered the African markets stating "After my recent visit to the African continent my passion is to help my new found friends in these nations all while helping our economy here at home. May Alicia form great ties!"

The President of Hulm announced the EC was growing stronger economically and military wise daily. The pact announced not only would military exercises persist but economic strategist, doctors, scientist, and business leaders would be meeting countless times to improve the lives and well being of European citizens. Each country in the EC has agreed to send these people with great proposals to come. The meetings will be held in Hulm
The EC has also made it easier to travel between the member nations boasting tourism across the European continent.

After months of dread the Queen mother has passed peacefully in the Royal palace. The Queen released a statement thanking all Alicians and international community for the prayers. The funeral will be held in a weeks time in the capital. The place confirmed the Queen mothers cause of death was lung cancer.

The only communist government official in congress proposed legislation that would switch the nation to communism within the next 8 years. The proposal was struck down quite quickly. Members from the congressmans district have called for his removal of office and death threats have been sent to the congressmans office. President Cortez stated "This man may have different economic views than the majority of us but he is a Alician and entitled to have those views. These death threats will be taken with the most importance and the senders will be prosecuted."

The Home Office has announced a new recruitment scheme to be placed within Northern Ireland. Protestant Irishman will now be recruited into the “New Ulster Volunteer Force”, the minister of Home Affairs announced, “These men will be recruited from God fearing families to drive out any and all corruption that may plague this great nation of ours.” The mandate of this new police force is to monitor and arrest any internal dissidents of the state. The newly appointed Chief Inspector Campbell will be the head of the force. Mr. Campbell is well known for his violent tactics against the IRA and was rudimentary in putting the rebellion down. People are worried that the violent tactics used by the Chief Inspector will be used in all situations not just when putting down Fenians. The Britannia Government has assured citizens that the force will be used to disrupt and destroy organised crime with “no mercy”. Chief Inspector Campbell stated, “God helps those that get in our way.”

The Government has stated that for to long corruption and organised crime has gone unchecked and unnoticed with local governments in bed with criminals and that dissidents fester on the sap of corruption, growing internal discontent and giving power to groups such as the IRA and the various Communist parties. Today doctors and parents alike were shocked when Tulaya Thaugsuban gave birth to a baby girl with eight legs. Living in Western East Pattaya local Hindus were quick to begin worshipping the baby as the reincarnation of the god Vishnu, one of the three gods of creation in the Hindu faith. While the baby's, named Mekhla, is healthy, the mother is worried about her growing up with so many extra legs. Eastern Pattaya is known for it's volatile and tense relations between Muslims and Hindus, and so the government is worried siding with the mother will cause civil unrest amongst the religious community. The upper section will hold both the New Museum of Yangaean History and a memorial to the lives lost in the earthquake.

The detailed blueprints also show a large amphitheater-like room on the top floor. The purpose of this room is yet to be disclosed.

Construction should be complete around August.

Bowman VS Cortez, Alician insurance and banking, EC news, and overhaul complete

Senator Bowman has made his first jab at the President. President Cortez planned on moving funds to Kakanj to help combat the current out break of disease but leader bowman blocked the move stating "Kakanj is a ally and member of the EC but before the President decides to play with our tax payers money maybe, just maybe, she should check with congress." Cortez and senate democrats have already made the proposal to get the funds. It looks like its likely to pass with flying colors.

After recent encouragement by the Government Alician banking and insurance companies have moved forward with opening branches across the globe, mainly the company RAMANO. The companies have targeted mainly African and Asian countries.

The Hulm government released news military exercises with Bamako have been met with success. Alician and Hulm troops along with some other from other EC nations have returned home. The Alician and Hulm governments moved forward with new recruits going back to Bamako for more training. The governments have also stayed persistent with aerial exercises. The Alican, Hulm, and Kosovo nations have began naval exercises off of Kosovos coast in the Adriatic sea. Hulm also announced Travel and currency exchange have been made much easier between EC nations. Traveling to and from EC nations has also became slightly cheaper encouraging more tourism. Hulm and Alicia both have sent medical aid to Kakanj to combat the recent outbreak of disease.

President Cortez has announced the complete overhaul of the military focused on the Navy is complete with final touches being made within the next 9 days.The new air craft carrier that has been in construction for the past 2 years and will set sail on the 20th during a ribbon cutting ceremony. The name of the vessel will be announced during the ceremony. Until today it was thought President Cortez would be cutting the ribbon but recent rumors suggest Queen Mary herself will be the one opening the vessel. Congress decided earlier in the week Queen Mary will decide the name for the new vessel.

Alician markets seize opportunity, EC begins research, and new carrier sets sail

After recent regulations in Rivière Verte the Alician government have pushed markets to reap the benefits. Alician Olive oil markets, Tea from Sinhala, and Sugar and Coffee from Cordoba will enter Verte. Alician banking and insurance markets have entered as well, mainly RAMANO. Affordable clothing brand Mucha Ropa have opened factories boasting employment as well as the luxury brand Bair Jolsonaro. Aircraft manufacturer Aero-Difusión has began looking at properties to began work as well and cleaning company "Estar limpio para mi." The president released a statement saying "I'm very confident our two countries can forge great economic ties. I hope our two nations relationship grows greatly into a strong and sturdy friendship."

The president of Hulm has released news the EC has began research on curing the disease in Carpathia and Kakanj. All EC nations have pitched in the research somehow. The president stated he has great confidence that a cure can and will be found. He also confirmed aerial, naval, and army exercises have persisted in Bamako and EC nations.

The overhaul of the military and navy has been completed with president Cortez calling it a huge success for the Alician people. The president was not present for the ribbing cutting ceremony but Queen Mary was. Congress gave the queen the power to name the new carrier. During her speech the Queen stated the new vessel will be called the Colette-Gaona carrier, a nod the late Queen mother Colette and President Gaona.

The High court has placed the vote on Cordoba becoming the 9th district on hold. Congresswoman Tejador has vowed to keep fighting.

Six Congressmen and women, 3 liberals, 2 conservatives, and a independent, have proposed legislation that would switch the name of Alicia back to Spain.

McCarthy approval soars • 24 Hispaniolan Dissenters executed • Cuban Administrator: "Things are stable. Military units will remain as a prevantative measure

Assassination Attempt on McCarthy
The warm, Spring morning of May 29 was notable for President McCarthy's first ever, known, assassination attempt. His Excellency had stepped down from the "Soarer", his personal private jet, at Model Airfield and was giving press statements about his visit to Mexico, reporting the good news and stability of the city in light of the tensions brought forward by Tolucan Statehood. At this moment, a bullet was fired. The first one hit a reporter interviewing the President but the second one struck the President in the leg.

The gunman was Model Airfield Worker, Henry K. Rodgers. The 45-year-old man had been a long time worker at the airfield, celebrating 10 years of work only last year.

Rodgers reportedly hid an SP101 revolver into the airfield's hangar on the morning of May 28th. Firearms are naturally forbidden in the airfield. It's unclear how he smuggled the gun through the airfield's mandatory metal checks but investigators are looking further into the notable security threat.

Given the calculated nature of the attack, it's safe to say this was not a spur of the moment decision from a rogue, disillusioned gunman. This was a deliberate and purposeful attack on His Excellency.

Rodgers was captured and is set for execution on June 11th. His sentencing and trial was fast-tracked by High Justice William Thomas. His reasoning was:

Henry Rodgers is a despicable man who committed an abhorrent crime. He deserves no waiting period on death. In cases like this where the crime is so heinous and the evidence is undeniable, a fast-track is almost standard.

Conspiracy theorists nation-wide are discussing Rodgers motives. Among the citizens, McCarthy approval is sky-high, thanks to him almost doubling the size and economy of the nation. This has lead many to believe this was an attack from a power-hungry competitor.

The plan would raise the income tax rate on citizens making $30,000-$45,000 a year to 25%, $46,000-$60,000 to 35%, and $61,000-$75,000 to 40%. Alongside increases in income tax the nation sales tax will increase to 6%. The new tax revenue will be used to fund new military training and government programs aimed at reducing poverty and assisting war refugees from the former Texan Confederacy. Funds would also go to raising and training civilian militias in urban fighting, guerrilla warfare, survival, emergency first aid, and more. The militias will be made up of citizens age 17-30 and used for national disasters and national defense.

Indian Emirates reaffirm claims on Kashmir

Following the complete annexation of Laoshu into the "Persian" Sultanate of the Xinjiang region in central Asia, the government of the United Indian Emirates has released a press statement reaffirming their claims to the Kashmir region. The claims primarily refer back to when Kashmir was apart of India as a colony under Britannian rule. The statement also backs claims with maps of the Vakataka Dynasty of India in 450 AD. There is no direct references to the recent annexation of Laoshu in the statement, however, the timing of it's release no doubt was meant to apply pressure to the Sultanate.

Emir Yousaf Raza Gillani of the UIE has been known in the past to display a passive affection and respect for Sultan Sheng Shicai, however, this recent statement could mark the beginning in a shift of tone for the Emir towards the Sultan. Many Indian news organizations have made claims that the Emir plans to offer a meeting with Sultan Sheng Shicai, however, this has not been confirmed by any government officials as of yet.

Lasir used to once be a mess of independent factions trying to claw their way out of an inescapable abyss. There was no order, no law, no true freedom. There was only deranged chaos. It drove people to be neanderthals, to regress into mere beasts. The Confederacy solved these problems. A collection of factions to serve for the common interest of each other, to push each other to greater heights through competition. In division there is unity, and in unity there lies division. This is the natural order of life. Only when you accept this fact will you prosper. Our neighbors do not wish to consent to this way of life and instead would rather rot away in squalor.

The Board need not remind you all of the historic kingdoms that once held much of our neighbors under our control. The modern borders are faulty and are under need of a drastic update.

The Board wishes to use the unity that brought together Lasir to bring together Asia. They do not wish to control them against their will, but rather to bring them into the Confederacy so that we may thrive together. Enter Tanah Naga. A nation rife with internal strife and discourse, the omnipotent government cracks down on its citizen's personal freedoms and strips them of their rights. To treat any human being above another is an archaic concept that throughout history resulted in only one scenario: revolution.

Although Tanah Naga may claim to have risen against their Dutch oppressors during the past century, their lies fall on deaf ears. They only fool themselves, they are nothing more than imperialist puppets; small cogs in a machine that they refuse to believe that they are in. As such, the Board has decided unanimously to bring a true revolution to Tanah Naga, to free them from their failed government, their imperialist and oppressive leaders, and to bring them into the cradle of the Confederacy. We do not wish to take away their rights away from them once more, quite the contrary. To any Tanah Nagans reading this, know this: if you decide to join the Confederacy now, you will be granted factionhood effectively granting complete autonomy from the state. We do not wish to start a conflict if we must, but we will not hesitate from freeing the Tanah Nagans from their oppressive government.

Government Seizes Texan Mines, New Strategy to Fight Drought
June 9th, 1991

Prime Minister-Pope O'jibu has had to make the difficult decision of nationalizing the Tanzanian gold mines previously sold to the Texan Confederacy. The mines, which had previously operated at full capacity and employed 19,800 citizens, have been struggling to stay open following the annexation of their nation. With no legitimate heir left to run and maintain the digsites, the Mbale government has created the Mbale People's Trust. This organization will run the mines with the goal of maximizing profits and then pay a dividend to all citizens regardless of class. The current assets held by the trust are estimated to be worth around $56Bn and rumors are floating around that the yearly dividend payout will be between $40-60. A life changing amount for many of our rural citizens.

Prime Minister-Pope O'jibu has stated that the move will give the nation an injection of cash needed to combat the devastating drought that has claimed over 345,000 lives in the past several months. Plans to extend Mombasa pipelines deep into Habesha are underway. Several Pavlovskan contractors are currently surveying the area in an attempt to recreate their success in irrigating Central Asia. The Prime Minister-Pope has noted that the project will be limited in scale due to the scarcity of desalination plants in Mbale. He has requested aid from the APSIA organization to help build such facilities to drastically increase the supply of drinking water in the nation. We hope that the world community will finally find its sense of empathy and contribute to our cause.

Hulm markets follow behind Alicia into Rivière Verte, The Queen visits Mbale, and Lacasa resigns.

After recent regulations in Verte and Alicia markets seizing opportunity Hulm has pushed for markets to take what opportunity is left. Although Alicia jumped into the arena opening branches from luxury clothing brands, agriculture, and even insurance early, Hulm will try to scoop up whatever place they can in Rivière Verte.

The recent drought in Mbale has drew global attention with Alicia being one of the lead donors. Queen Mary visited the dehydrated nation vowing to help in any way she can. Following are highlights from her speech.

"When hundreds of thousands of people die because they do not have the means to obtain clean drinking water, that failure is placed on the international community. This right here, this drought, is a humanitarian crisis that deserves attention from the APSIA organization. I will be donating $500,000 worth of clean drinking water and water bottles as well as $10,000,000 to Mbale of my own funds to combat this ongoing issue. I promise i will fight until every citizen in Mbale, and across Africa, have clean drinking water."

It seems the Queen has made it her mission to solve this problem and plans on meeting with political leaders in Alicia

After calls from Generals and members of Congress to resign, Secretary of State Lacasa resigned. The president released a statement stating she hated to see it happened but respected the choice of the Secretary. President Cortez nominated Mariano Gallo who was approved by the senate 63-37. Secretary Gallo is young at just 40 but is not new to the political arena. At 24 Gallo was elected to the District 3 house of Reps and at 30 was a candidate for Governor. At 32 Gallo was elected to congress before losing his seat 4 years later at 36. The 37 Senators who voted against Gallo's nomination stated he did not have enough experience. Gallo has a masters degree in global history, foreign relations, and public speaking.
