The proposal which had been presented to the pact by Liam Woods was well intentioned and clearly not intended to cause controversy but Arana shifted nervously in her seat whilst reading the document. Although, her discomfort seemed to be lessened when the statement from Opterys Axios was read to the Chamber. She got up and walked calmly to the central stand; despite being uncomfortable she was an experienced diplomat.

She clears her throat before continuing in a thick, but still understandable, south-eastern Allyrian accent caused by her learning of English later in life. "However, one must understand the nature which my homeland finds itself in. Although in the past 30 years we have made great strides in-terms of development, to a point where we're now on par with the rest of this Alliance and our other neighbours, we are still very much a closed nation, both culturally and economically. Whilst this is something which I, as a former Economist at Allyria's largest bank but also as a former soldier, can see would benefit all of us not only economically but in-terms of social stability also you must understand that Allyrians are not used to change and will only accept it if done slowly. In short, I wish to ask for assurances that although all stipulated in this proposal will be enacted in Allyria by his Majesty's Government but that we be allowed to open up at a slower pace as to allow Allyrian consumers and businesses to slowly adjust to the international market and through the slow opening of the market be able to properly compete.

She returns to her seat, realising the huge shift in policy this could cause in Allyria knowing that if her request was rejected that many back home would be baying for her blood. Most in a figurative sense, but a few in a more literal one.

"Wow, it seems like this will be easier than I expected. The concerns from Allyria are taken into consideration, and Britannia would like to offer a 1 year buffer to Allyria to prevent some sort of international trade shock.
