Automagfreek has given me the permission to write a World Assembly condemnation of Gholgoth. Although I don’t create this thread with the intention of having random nations posting here, this thread is, however, open to nations of all technologies (PT/MT/PMT/FT), with Automagfreek having the authority to apply retroactive continuity to anything he disagrees with

January 2019 update: I have handed the authorship of this proposal to the player behind the nation of Kostrorleauny. I will still be the co-author of the proposal, and will help Kostrorleauny with research/campaigning if/when he needs my help. Thank you!

Latest update: After discussing with Kostrorleauny, I have agreed with his suggestion that we change the original condemnation proposal into a commendation instead - to follow the wish of members in the region of Gholgoth. I will make new in-character post in this thread to reflect that change ]

Government update — Proposal to condemn Gholgoth

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that as a neutral nation that was once an upholder of liberty, the Realm of Yohannes has long watched with sadness the many years of wanton destruction, misery, and wars caused by the dangerous empires of Gholgoth — represented by the cruel, fabled Gothic Lords. Since the International Incidents days of 2005, and possibly earlier, Gholgoth has continually presented a real danger to the international community of nations and regions.

That is, a period of almost thirteen years where the Lords of Gholgoth have invaded innocent nations; pillaged once prosperous towns and cities; burnt countless historical artifacts; and subjugated, enslaved, millions of previously free peoples — terrible actions by the Lords of Gholgoth; in fact, I remember that in 2012 or 2013 the Lords of Gholgoth did attempt to force “weaker alliances” to register themselves through the ancient Brimstone Pact. For almost thirteen years, not a single nation has the power or has been brave enough to issue a World Assembly condemnation of the region of Gholgoth.

But that will soon change.

The shameless decision by the World Assembly — the world’s governing body — to conveniently ignore Gholgoth’s more than twelve years of infamous existence must stop here. The Thirty-sixth Christian Democratic Executive Council, led by the eighteenth Yohannesian Emperor Marion Maréchal-Le Men and the forty-seventh Chancellor of the Nineteen Countries Annabelle Thorndon-Stevensonn, will soon start writing the first draft of “Condemn Gholgoth” for the World Assembly.

The condemnation of Gholgoth by the World Assembly will show the evil Lords of Gholgoth, and especially you, Lord Damien Dreadfire II of Automagfreek, that liberty and prosperity will ultimately prevail against the forces of tyranny and wanton destruction.

It is time for the World Assembly to finally acknowledge the region of Gholgoth for what it is: a region of dangerous empires and evil, autocratic monarchs. Automagfreek, Kraven, and Crimmond. Evil and dangerous names — and it is time for the World Assembly to stand up and condemn this region of historical warmongers.

Lords of Gholgoth, your crimes since the days of antiquity will soon be displayed for every World Assembly member state to see: Condemn Gholgoth 2019.

It has come to our attention that your government seeks to condemn our region through the World Assembly. We are writing to formally protest this action.

A condemnation of Gholgoth would include not only the Skybound Republic of Havensky, but other nations within the region that have done nothing to deserve such action from the World Assembly.

The Skybound Republic of Havensky is a proud democracy. Our citizens have the right to free speech, free press, freedom to assemble peacefully in both celebration and in protest, to be judged by a jury of their peers, the right to worship how they wish and love whom they wish. There is no death penalty here, no slavery, no indentured servitude, and no secret police. The People of Havensky elect their Representatives, their Governor-Mayor and their Queen. They have the right to petition for referendums and to recall elected officials that they deem unworthy to carry the power of the people. When my government takes action, it is done on the BEHALF and at the BEHEST of the PEOPLE of HAVENSKY. These rights extend to every Skyan regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, or religion.

People here have opportunity! Havensky has medical care for all, education for all, affordable housing for all and a minimum living wage regardless of where you came from.

I will be the first to admit that our region has its share of demons and bad actors. Even now, we are at war with the Slaver Empire of Scandivans. And before that, we fought the Capitol Police of the Kraven Reich.

Who was it that liberated the people of Vetalia? Who gave their blood in their defense? Who among us still bears the scars from that terrible battle? Who landed upon the shores of Milogradwhen nobody else would to oppose the Reich? Who took up arms against the foe who threatened to burn every village to the ground? Who now stands against the slavers who respect none but their own false god?

It was and remains the brave soldiers of our fellow Gothic nation - The Empire of Ghant! It was and remains the fearsome warriors from the Empire of Dephire! It was and remains - the valiant men and women of the The Ancient Empire of Kylarnatia! It was and remains the dauntless soldiers of the Imperial Union Jagada! It was and remains the Imperial Union of Drakonia and our steadfast allies of the Pantokratic Dominate of Pudu! And it was and remains the duty of our own Skyan Legion to oppose oppression and defend the weak against tyranny and evil.

Chancellor, you speak of crimes long past and make no mention of the generosity of benevolence of my people. The white ships of Humanitarian Fleet stand ready to provide aid and comfort in any disaster and have a long record of being trusted healers and diplomats! We offer asylum and safe harbor to those fleeing from oppression and slavery! When we were awarded terrority in Milograd did we colonize them and subjugate them? No. The people in the City-State of Argyz were granted full rights as citizens of the Skybound Republic and the Argyz sent one of their own to take their place in the Skyan Senate. THEY are now US and we are THEM. When refugees come to our shores seeking a new life away from despots do we throw them in ghettos and treat them differently? No. They are given a path to citizenship and those that take it up are given the same rights as every Skyan. THEY are now US and we are now THEM. Our capital of Citadel City, made up of people of every color and tongue, shines as a beacon of hope not only in Gholgoth but around the globe as a symbol of hope and democracy! You insult the memory of those who died making this nation possible when you judge us guilty by association!

I will admit that our region has not always been at peace. However, the recent passage of the Gothic Reforms promises to be a new chapter in our history! Even now, the new regional capital of Pax Gothica is being built as a place where our nations can work towards a lasting peace. To condemn us is ignore this progress.

I beseech you to withdraw your plans before you submit even a draft to the World Assembly. Otherwise, it will be my duty as World Assembly Ambassador to publicly oppose the resolution and demand a formal apology on the world stage.

Claudia was only seven years old, but she was not afraid of the dark.

When she opened her eyes she could see nothing, but that was not what scared her. It was what lies beneath the darkness. The well, leading some say to the depths of hell, was built in tribute to the Vanmakti legends of yore. She knew who they were. She was staring down the well of souls, in the cold hall of the seven cardinal sins’ cathedral.

“This well was built to commemorate our realm’s well established trading relationship with the Empire of Automagfreek.” Her father stood next to her, and Claudia could tell that though those kind eyes were on her, his mind was somewhere else.

The hall was empty tonight. Her father had told her that the approaching winter’s eve would be a special one, and she was never one to miss an adventure. She had been here many a time before, and she could not see how tonight would be different from any other. “Father, we’ve done this a hundred times and I think you’re just being silly?”

As she said those words the ground began to shake.

“I am the Qu-een of Puritania and British Londinium… please spare.. me.. my... Lord”, there was pleading somewhere but she could see nothing. “P-L-E-A-S-E S-P-A-R-E M-E M-Y F-R-E-E-K-I-S-H L-O-R-D”, the pleading became a cry for help. She turned her head left to right then right to left. “Father… what was that?”

Her father motioned with his hand to tell her to be silent, his eyes dully scanning their surroundings. “When dawn broke it would be the eve of the seven cardinal sins.” He turned to meet her gaze. “Rumour has it that the evil spirits of yore would come out of the well to worship the long dead Freekish Lord… Claudia, have you heard of that name before?”

“Damien Dreadfire the Second, father?”

“No… the one before him… the one who had ensured that the head of an innocent queen by the name of Cecilia would sway ever so gently in the breeze atop a twenty foot pike.”

“C-E-C-I-L-I-A-A-A...”, the scream became louder — this time it came from the well. Claudia was chary of believing in evil spirits lest they be tempted to visit her. She stared into the darkness, trying to think about fairy and rainbow. She knew that there were two doors just north. I will run there if the evil spirits of Damien will come out and attack us, she decided. Her father gave her a piece of paper.

“Breaking… news… Gholgoth… to be… condemned… by the World Assembly… under new proposal tabled by Marion and Annabelle. Father, what’s this?”

“Just wait until it’s over”, said her father.

“What is this… father?” she asked again.

Claudia dropped the paper as the earth began to shake harder and the voices turned quieter and quieter until the eerie silence made it unbearable for her to stay any longer. She slipped out of her irresolution and ran as fast as she could across the great hall to the nearest exit. The short silence was suddenly broken by a terrible scream. Her father, still standing next to the well, beckoned for her to come back. The great hall roared to life, as angelic choirs and devilish voices reverberate through the ground and into her ears.

“M-I-L-O-G-R-A-D… K-R-A-V-E-N… S-C-A-N-D-I-N-V-A-N-S… L-O-N-D-I-N-I-U-M E-X-E-C-U-T-I-O-N… J-U-K-I-L… B-L-O-O-D-O-F-T-H-E-T-H-O-U-S-A-N-D-D-A-M-N-E-D…”

The devilish voices overcame the angelic choirs until there were whispers and burbles and sudden fits of rage. Loud, piercing cries that drifted in the night, laughter, sighs — she had never seen anything quite so horrible, in all her young life.

Then it abruptly stopped. Silence.

She turned to look at her father, still standing beside the well.

“Claudia — can you hear me from there?”

“Yes, father.”

“Good. I’m sorry to scare you.” He turned to meet her gaze.

“As one of them, we had betrayed the ancient Lords of Gholgoth in 2012. And now, we are about to ensure that every single one of them — Havensky, Kraven, Kylarnatia, The Scandinvans — will be indiscriminately condemned by the World Assembly. The worst kind of betrayal is one done by those who were once your own siblings.”

“Watch for the blood moon tonight, Claudia, for;”

“Winter is coming.”
