Kensington smiles at the officer,
"We're Commissioners Kensington and Fitzgerald here on behalf of The Crown, we'd like to speak to Captain Riley."

Fitzgerald was the one who took the handshake, but Kensington was the one who spoke.
"You've no doubt been informed of why we're here?"

"We have a general idea of what happened during the incident," Kensington paused for a moment, "Could you tell us about the events leading up to it. As far back as you think might even be slightly relevant."

"Alright give me a moment." Riley thinks for a minute. "Alright as far back I can tell you is when the Inquisitor left on his trip. Some protestors were know at the time to be against him. When the heat started increasing our intelligence said these same protestors took advantage of the heat to rally up many unhappy citizens to go against the government. As far as that I can't tell anything else that led up to this event."

Kensington glanced at Fitzgerald, sharing the same look and question: Why was the heat increasing their intelligence?
Regardless, it didn't have anything to do with the commission, so they dropped it.
"Has this group done anything else before?"

"Hmm, I believe they attacked a casino in Las Vegas." Riley rubs his head and wipes sweat from his forehead. "Sorry if I seem out of it. Not everyday you get hit in the head with a rock."

"I don't think they planned for one of them to get shot and killed. That one I believe had a briefcase full of money. When the one with the briefcase got shot and killed it was dropped and the others got out with two other cases of money."

The pair look at each other again, both looking slightly pleased.
"Would that briefcase... still be..." As Fitzgerald was trying to be polite, Kensington interrupted, "Is it still held as evidence?"

"Why yes it is. Give me a moment."
He heads down a hall and heads down stairs to a small room. "Hmm lets see here it is." He puts on white gloves and takes the briefcase and heads back upstairs.
"Here you gentlemen."

"Thank you." Fitzgerald says as he puts on a pair of cotton gloves, gently unclasping the briefcase to look inside...

The money was left inside. Some of it is shredded due to some bullets going through the case. There's a small little pocket inside the top of the briefcase.

Fitzgerald slowly opens the pocket to peer inside, as Kensington also puts on gloves and starts inspecting the money.

Inside the pocket is the name James Johnson. The supposal owner of this briefcase. The money itself is in bundles, with a few bullet holes in them.

"Oh yes that name...we found it and wasn't sure where to go with it because the guy that was shot down was James. He does have a wife but she lives in Salt Lake City in Utah."

Kensington shrugs. "Eh... in The Heartland, commissioners and police have to compete with The Cadre, and they're clearly the favourites. So you've either got to be efficient, or responsible for budget cuts."
