To whom it may concern...
The conflict north of the Austrian People's Republic has garnered our attention.... If the 2003 treaty government were to fall, it could either be a valuable ally, or the loss of another state to the West. We MUST intervene. However, as per the Treaty of Bucharest, the USSR and its allies may not and will not intervene in any conflict classified as internal, effectively limiting the expansion of the Warsaw Pact's borders. And as per the 2003 treaty concerning Luxembourg-Bavaria itself, we are obliged to aid the legitimate government militarily or otherwise, and ONLY the legitimate government. Send what forces you can spare north. Be sure not to garner attention with regards to your presence. Participate in active conflict only when the cameras are not pointed towards you. We will be supporting the legitimate government as stated earlier in this message. Do not provide aid to the Marxist Brigade. They and the Westerner rebels are dangerous groups seeking to upturn the delicate balance held as of now.
Signed,
Moscow

Brigadier General Scott Bradley sat on one of the transport planes that was flying them to Nuremberg National Airport. His regiment was ordered to go and aid the Nationalist in the Bavarian Civil War. The plan was simple they would land and he would hopefully talk with the Nationalist commander about plans while awaiting reinforcements from other nations. He was alerted to the fact they were now in Nationalist airspace so he quickly sent a message down to Nationalist troops saying.
"Hello to Bavarian Nationalist forces. I am Brigadier General Scott Bradley of the Andsedian military. We are here to help requesting to land.

The government building sat still like all the others. The people walked up and down the streets like ordered ants, stopping only to get back inside or chat with others. But the insides were different. Here was where people could act freely, and including those in power, for very important news had reached their doorstep.
Hess Burgens sat with many important military officials, about to begin a debate that may fire back at them worse than WW3...
'Sir!" Yelled a men bursting out the meeting room doors. He held a single, folded up paper on his right palm, and presented it to Hess, promptly before dropping onto the table in front of him.
'It's a direct message from Moscow.'
'Must you catch by surprise, young man?' Hess aid back sternly. 'Anyway, let us see what this document holds..'To whom it may concern...

After much rambling after this, the forces to be sent to the conflict areas will be comprised of:
The 26th Mixed Brigade consisting of the 60th, 61st, and 62nd Automatic Battalions, each numbering 800, totalling to 2400 infantry men, as well as the 13th Tank Battalion, composed of 60 multirole main battle tanks
and the
The 30th Infantry Brigade, consisting of the 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd Automatic Battalions, to a total of 3200 infantry men.
Shortly after, these forces began to assemble at some remote military base in the Alps, and drove north.

And so, the 26th Mixed Brigade advanced into the roads leading into Dunberg, with a detachment of the 13th Tank Battalion in front of every infantry battalion. The other brigade stayed at Dunberg, and they were beginning to be harrassed by the locals.
'You may march with no banner but you all are from the West!' chanted the angry locals. Although the brigade was 3200 strong, roughly 1/4 of the approx. 4000 town had views aligning with the Marxist Brigade, and they weren't very happy about the brief skirmish from earlier. Some began to wave red shirts, while others threatened to arm themselves. The 23rd Automatic Battalion was the one in the town at the time, and so efforts were focused to harass them. There was little the other battalions could do as rocks began to fly towards the 23rd.
OOC: Lux-Bav can decide how this goes. You said strong civilian resistance, so strong civilian resistance.

Small trash fires were lit by the soldiers, and they lay on the street, hugging these flames in small circles. Few had actually bothered to draw their guns, much less aim and then fire. Only the 77th Infantry Company, numbering 100, out of 5 other infantry companies and two mortar companies had bothered to fire. They were known to shine the shoes of Colonel Lukas. They were the ones who were ordered to loot local towns and execute the 55. But to these poor souls, it was all the same. The 23rd began to disassociate with itself. Eyes looked dead onto the 77th and especially Colonel Lukas. Thoughts of a mutiny began to swirl about the battalion... if they were to be pushed again, well, good luck...
Meanwhile the 26th had stopped for the night halfway across the trip. Troop movements had to be excessively slow so as not to garner the attention of onlookers and newscasters. Lights were only lit in tents and the bombed out roads were only visible thanks to what moonlight there was. Their tanks served as sleeping cabins for some, while others simply slept on the soft soil.
Suddenly, a sound. A strange engine sound. It couldn't be the tanks, they weren't running. And no one had any spare engines on them. This meant that it could be a force of enemy tanks. The troops readied their mortars, their AP shells ready to pierce the tank tops soon to come into sight. Many quickly dug foxholes, and the Stiers were awoken from the slumber, ready to fire at what was about to come...
OOC: It's up to you again, OP.

Danubian Peoples wrote:It was early morning when the 26th woke up from its slumber to continue its march. Over the night they had been radioed in on the recent developments at the 23rd's location. Many were concerned about their fellow soldiers and decided it would be best not to get into a skirmish before the reach their destination. And so they trudged on, tanks swerving around ditches left behind by artillery fire while infantry kept close eyes on both sides of the road.
Back at the 23rd Automatic Battalion's location, things were a little different. Many of the battalion's members were green conscripts, save for the 77th, which was entirely veterans used to the feel of war from the first two civil wars, where they earned their name as a crack fighting force ready to follow the lead of their superiors. Perhaps that is why Munich HQ seemed so eager to allow foreigners to fire on civilians. Now, as the infantry companies were sent out to patrol the town, a teenager, face still scarred from yesterday, opened his window and spat at the soldiers below. He ducked before anyone could fire at him.
'This is Colonel Lukas Alexander. Tiger One. Is Munich HQ on?'
'Yes sir. What do you wish to report.'
'The civilians have been dealt with. My 77th are a proud force, ready to strike. May I request that we stop patrolling and move on to frontline operations? Wait, hold on... Something's coming. Tiger One out.'
It seemed that that the enemy had brought with them a much larger force this time, the revving of a jeep or two could be heard, along with the marching of hundreds of rebel soldiers. But they weren't the reds. They waved a large Bavarian banner and had black bands around their hands. They appeared to be from an extremist wing of the anticommunist front. (Hey, this happens too irl) One of the rebel soldiers, probably their field commander of sorts, held up his arm and said:
'Today we liberate this town. Both from its unwelcome occupants and the flagless demons that hold it. For a white Bavaria!'
ORBAT:
Rebels
2,078 soldiers
10 trucks
APR
800 soldiers
1600 soldiers outside city limits (can come to reinforce any time)
OP, you get to decide again.

"Our CO is General Xavier Schmidt. He is currently meeting in the Strategic Headquarters which is in the center of those fortifications over past the airport.
