Shah Daryoush requests a ceasefire with Italy.

Daryoush Kebabi, the only son of Kourosh Kebabi, escapes from Persia. He tried to become ruler of Persia since Kourosh was gone, but resistance from the Italians was too much.

He moves to India and convinces the Indians to make him the Emperor of India. After that, he annexes Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Burma, Oman, and the U.A.E. He declares the Empire of India and declares the Empire of India to be the continuation of Persia-Kebabistan. He makes Delhi the capital.

He encourages Persians to move to India since it is securely under his control. However, an influx of Persians into India would cause many problems, so he only allows them to move to Indian Afghanistan, which already has Persians and other Iranic peoples, like Pathans and Hazaras.

After his proclamation, half of the people of Persia flee to India, because they want to be ruled by a Persian, not an Italian.

Daryoush declares that if Kourosh is still alive, he will make Kourosh the Emperor. After consolidating his empire, he sends telegrams to America and China, asking to be recognized as the continuation of Persia-Kebabistan. He says he will honor the deals they made about the ports.

It will be challenging to administer India because it is very diverse. The first thing he deals with is the clash between Hinduism and Islam. He tells the Hindus that India will be secular, so they will be free to practice their religions. He tells the Muslims that they will not be oppressed by Hindu majority because their leader is Muslim.

He now has a unique set of advantages. He rules one of the richest areas on the planet and is at a good location. Since most inhabitants are Hindus, Italy, despite having influence over the Abrahamic religions, can not influence India.

OOC: Suryak, invading Oman and U.A.E. does not count as invading you because you do not hold those areas yet. Also, please don't invade me, because I have already given you all my former land.

Indian sailors purchase the land in America on behalf of Daryoush and build ports. Here are the ports:

• Bandar Gandhi - at the Northeastern tip of Long Island.
• Bandar Hudson - just North of N.Y.C.
• Bandar Washington - at the mouth of Chesapeake Bay.
• Bandar Kourosh - near Houston.

Daryoush lets America purchase four plots of land in India. He also fortifies the border with Italy and asks for recognition from China.

Daryoush realizes that as he expands India, it will encompass multitudes of people, so calling it just India when there are many other ethnic groups as well is improper.

He renames his country to the Kebabi Empire, but the short name is Kebabistan.

Meanwhile, he announces that the Shah is missing. He asks the world leaders if they know where he is.

Kebabistan starts expanding into Southeast Asia, because they have been influenced by India. His forces attack the coast of Thailand, initially to annex it. However, Daryoush does not want to end the Thai state as it has a long and rich history and culture. He makes Thailand a protectorate of Kebabistan.

Laos and Cambodia are invaded. Unlike Thailand, Laos and Cambodia become integral parts of Kebabistan rather than protectorates. However, they are given a degree of autonomy since they are different from India.

Daryoush considers annexing Vietnam, but then decides not to because Vietnam is in China's sphere of influence and annexation would threaten China.

To show he does not want to threaten China, Daryoush proposes to cut Vietnam in half. The North will go to China and the South will go to Kebabistan.

The Italians sigh. They finish conquest of there territories. The declare the Holy Latin Empire and Latin Caliphate.

"My Lord! The Italians have responded!" he said, quickly kneeling.

"Well, what did they say?"

"They agreed to the offer, and suggested a 'Pact of Steel'."

Shikai turned to look at Shirazi. "Well, it looks like our plans must wait. We've reached a agreement with the Italians, and we must not break them." He then sighed. "But, do not worry" he continued, "we have other things to discuss. Although that must wait. I have other important matters to deal with now."

Shikai stood up, and headed to the door. He then stopped, and turned around, "oh, nearly forgot. Feng Quan will be waiting for you in the gardens." He then walked out the door to his meeting room.

Shirazi is disappointed, for China is gaining strong relations with the Italians. He realizes that China might not liberate Persia, because it is hard to take an ambassador seriously when they represent a nonexistent country.

He enters the gardens to meet Feng Quan.

The moment Shirazi came into the garden, Feng Quan thought he heard the crunch of a leaf. He then turned around and met, at last, face to face with the Persain ex-ambassador. He realises that Shirazi appears upset, and asks him what's wrong, for news of Shikai's meeting haven't reached him yet.

A smile forms on Shirazi's face as he meets the man who was to start Persia-China relations. After greeting him, he explains how China was considering liberating Persia, but now that they have an Italian alliance, liberation would jeopardize the Italian alliance. He fears that he will never see his homeland again and that people will not take him seriously since the country he represents does not exist anymore and his Shah is missing. (He does not know that the Kebabi Empire has been restored).

Meanwhile, 2 Kebabi ships arrive to China. One of them lands in Lushunkou while the other lands North of Shanghai. Each ship has money and supplies. They are here to purchase the land for the Kebabi ports and help the Chinese decide where they want to build their ports in the Kebabi Empire.

Daryoush also requests for China to mediate the Persia-Italy conflict.

In the meantime, South Vietnam is annexed by Kebabistan while North Vietnam is ceded to China. The Kebabi Empire annexes Malaysia and Indonesia, which means that they now have control over the Strait of Malacca.

Kebabistan also expands into Central Asia. Though Central Asia is large and covered in desert, it has a small population and Kebabistan has planes. After an extensive military campaign, Persia takes control of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. This way, the empire will have control over Turco-Iranian peoples and they will have more room for the Persian refugees.

To make governing this empire easier, the empire is divided into multiple provinces:

• Turco-Iranian Province - Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Western Pakistan.
• North Indian Province - Eastern Pakistan, Northern India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh.
• South Indian Province - Southern India, Sri Lanka, Maldives.
• Southeast Arabian Province - Oman, U.A.E.
• Southeast Asian Province - Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, South Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia.

However, this is not a conventional province system. Daryoush knows that each province contains a diverse amount of peoples, and cooping up diverse groups into one province will not do any good. What he is doing is that each province will be headed by a council. The councils will decide how to divide up the provinces to make administration easier and to make the residents happy. Once the final plans are made, these provincesand the councils will be dismantled and replaced by the new provinces, which will be drawn on ethnic and cultural lines.

Daryoush also wants Persia back. He telegrams the Latin Empire, demanding Persia back. He suggests a land swap in which the Latin Empire can get Oman and the U.A.E. and in return, the Kebabi Empire will get Persia. He says that he asked China to mediate the conflict since China is on good relations with both countries.

Daryoush also industrializes the country to make it have a strong economy. Factories are established to produce materials and weapons for war, greatly strengthening the economy (kind of like America in WWII). He institutes a draft in Turco-Iran, North India, and Southeast Arabia in case if Italy invades.

Daryoush decides to change his last name from Kebabi so he does not become a diplomatic laughing stock. He changes his last name to Kourosh in honor of the first Shahanshah of Persia, Cyrus the Great, and in honor of his father.

The Kebabi Empire is renamed to the Kouroshid Empire, or Kouroshistan for short.

Daryoush thus becomes Emperor Daryoush Kourosh of the Kouroshid Empire.

Suryak, in the last post, I said that Daryoush asked for Persia back. Here is the telegram, in case if you were wondering:

Greetings Emperor and Khalifah Victor Emmanuel of the Latin Empire and Caliphate,

I am Emperor Daryoush Kebabi of the Kouroshid Empire. We have had a long rivalry, but I think it is time to resolve it.

We both have similar goals for our people. We both want them to be prosperous. We both want them to live in a country they can be proud to call home. We both want our people to achieve glory.

But our fighting is getting in the way of this pursuit for glory. It is not honorable for us to sabotage each other, when we should let each other be. We should let each other prosper on our own, without interference from others.

To resolve this, we will need to swap land. Persia is my homeland, but it is sadly not under my control. Just like Italy is the focal point of Latin culture, Persia is the focal point of my culture. If you give Persia back to me, then I will give you Oman and the U.A.E and recognize you as the Caliph. I propose that after this, we sign a non-aggression pact.

Follow through with this proposal, and we can start paving the path to peace.

He hesitates to call the Emperor of Italy the Khalifah (Caliph) because Persia used to be the Caliphate and Italy took that away from them. However, he then decides that since he rules a country with lots of non-Muslims, it would make no sense to for him to become the Khalifah. Meanwhile, Victor Emmanuel rules a Muslim-majority area and holds Makkah and gave himself a Muslim name. It is clear to Daryoush that it is better to recognize Emmanuel as the Khalifah.

Daryoush is confused by the letter. Atheism is not widespread in Kouroshistan. The government is secular, but that is so all religions can practice in peace.

However, he does not feel like arguing. The Italians are finally offering a deal he can benefit from. This is his reply:

Dear Emperor and Khalifah Victor Emmanuel of the Holy Latin Empire and Caliphate,

When you ask for access to Uttar Pradesh, do you want to annex it or do you want us to allow Italians in while keeping control over it?

If the first, Uttar Pradesh, while controlled by Italy, will be patrolled by the Persian army rather than the Italian army. Italians can do whatever they want as long as it follows the law, but Persians will be enforcing the law. No Italian soldiers or weapons are allowed. The Persian army will be enforcing Latin law rather than Persian law in Uttar Pradesh and they will be compelled to respect your countrymen and their rights, but they will make sure that no rebellions happen. Anything against the Persian government will be illegal, but anything against the Latin Empire will also be illegal. 10% of taxes will go to you.

Basically, it will be under your rule, but law and order will be guarded by Persia so no rebellions happen.

If the second, it will be the same as above except for three things: Italians can only stay in major cities, Uttar Pradesh will be part of Persia, and only Italians will pay 10% of their taxes to you.

This is not etched in stone. If you want to revise this, I am happy to make something that will work for both of us.

IC: As part of the Kouroshid-Italy Deal, Daryoush cedes Uttar Pradesh to Italy while annexing Persia. Persia is added to the Turco-Iranian Province.

In Uttar Pradesh, Italian soldiers and weapons will be banned and Kouroshid soldiers will enforce law. Italians can only enter through Lucknow and they will be checked to make sure they are not carrying weapons or propaganda so they do not start an uprising. However, the soldiers will have to follow and enforce Latin law and be loyal to the Latin Emperor. The soldiers will be tested to make sure they are not biased against Italians. No propaganda of any kind will be allowed (this includes all types, even pro-Kouroshid, anti-Kourodhid, pro-Latin, and anti-Latin). He does not want uprisings against either of the countries. Any activities that can affect adversely either the Latin Empire or Kouroshistan will be suppressed. Taxes will go to the Latin government, but Kouroshids will enforce law on his behalf. Though the soldiers are loyal to Italy, they can disobey orders if they go against Kouroshid interests. Persians will not be allowed to serve as UP soldiers because they will be biased from the invasion. Most UP soldiers come from Bengal.

Basically, the Latin government in Rome will make laws, but these laws will be enforced by Kouroshids rather than Italians. In the UP government, the Latin Emperor will be Emperor, but all other members of government, including military and police, will be Kouroshid.

The laws are structured to give as much freedom as possible to Italians by compelling soldiers to enforce Latin law while protecting Kouroshistan from possible Italian aggression by making Kouroshids enforce law on Italian's behalf.

For now, Italians can only settle in Lucknow. If Daryoush thinks the Italians have behaved well, he will gradually increase their territories until they hold all of UP. Once that happens, he will allow Italians to apply for citizenship if they desire. He says that even when they control all of UP, Italians can not be closer than 100 miles to Delhi or 20 miles from the UP border unless they are citizens for at least 5 years.

OOC: I still control the UP soldiers, but unless your actions threaten Kouroshid interests, the soldiers will be loyal to you.
