Introduction:
The Republic of San David (Spanish: República de San David) commonly called San David, was a military dictatorship in South America. It was bordered on the north by Brazil, on the south by Paraguay, and on the west by Bolivia. The Republic of San David covered 357,125 square kilometers and had an estimated population of 2,505,088. The Republic of San David was comprised of eight regions divided in different provinces.
The 3rd September 1963, a group of senior armed forces officers launched a coup against the democratic socialist government.
Factions:
Democratic government: it is the legitimate government, elected democratically by the people, although during the last years it's popularity has decreased due to the terrible crisis the country is facing. The President is Alberto Truerbes of the Socialist Party of San David (SPSD). It is supported by leftists, like socialists, communists, anarchists and liberals.
Military junta: it is a provisional government headed by high-ranking military officers. It has raised to power thanks to a Coup d'Etat, and has a considerable acceptance of a part of the population as they see it as a strong government that will return prosperity to the Republic of San David. It's leader is Army General Francisco Santáguez, proclaimed National Generalissimus (Generalísimo Nacional). It is supported by right wing people, specially rich company owners, the Armed Forces, the Church and the middle class.
