Military coup in Tsengai[MT|Closed|IC]

TARIAMANDAL — Today, about 10:30am, columns of armoured vehicles and troop carriers made their way to the offices of the Imperial Diet, Supreme Court of Tsengai, and the Presidential Palace in Tariamandal, capital city of the Asian nation of Tsengai. With little to no resistance, unmarked soldiers arrested all members of the Diet, including Diet Chariman Galdan Sukh, the Chief Justice Inancha Bilge, and the current president, Tsolmon Esugen. The coup came as a shock move from the Tsengaian Armed Forces, only recently recovering from a massive purge following a failed mutiny.

Military personnel also entered the Parliament and ordered all parliament members dismissed and under arrest for being "accessories to high treason." The parliamentarians could be seen being led out of the parliament building, bound by hand-cuffs and blinded by sacks, and forced into police vans, which promptly zipped off to the Tariamandal Maximum Security Prison, where they will be awaiting trial.

Field Marshal Jochi Tumun of the Tsengai Armed Forces made an announcement shortly after the coup took place, on the balcony of the Imperial Diet chambers. Tumun stated, "Today, leading members of the Tsengai Armed Forces and myself made the decision to depose President Tsolmon Esugen, and his corrupt lackeys from office. It was not a decision made lightly, but after the continuous abuses of the Tsengaian people at the hands of Esugen, his dangerous governance, and his continued disrespect for the Emperor’s will, a contingency plan was implemented. He is unharmed, and he now resides in prison, where he will stay until he is charged for his despicable crimes. Members of the Imperial Diet and the Supreme Court have also been arrested for charges of severe obstruction of the Emperor’s will, embezzlement and accessories to treason. The government authority will be temporarily vested in the Armed Forces Senior Committee until the Emperor can be restored to full power. Long live Tsengai! Long live the Emperor!"

Tumun also stated to media outlets, "The rule of law and the Imperial Diet in all of its abilities has been suspended until all members of the Armed Forces Senior Committee come to a unanimous decision with the Emperor as to how He would envision the government. Martial law is enacted, and we order all Tsengaians to stay in the comfort of their homes until stability is restored for their own safety."

Many Tsengaians have welcomed the move by the army, saying the continuous distancing of the Emperor from the government and the bureaucracy to replace His will was a terrible mistake. However, on the international scale, many foreign agencies and nongovernment observers have condemned the coup, saying that a total restoration of the Emperor’s power could only lead Tsengai down a dark path.

Many wonder if after this coup, if the Emperor will pledge his support, or order the perpetrators to surrender.

With regards to the situation in the Empire of Tsengai, reports are still coming in, but we have confirmed that a military coup has replaced the former ruler and altered the internal state of affairs within the country. Tsengai is a small Asian nation, ruled by a Monarch. While it's political composition means it is hostile to Cedorian interests and objectives, it's previously small size and relative lack of international influence has previously meant it flew under the radar somewhat. Our Intelligence services have directed greater signals capacity to monitor ongoing developments in the country, but thus far, we have little information beyond what the new regime has chosen to supply. They appear motivated by a desire to permit the Emperor to exert more direct influence and authority, but little information is yet available as to how they do this. Whatever it's real motivation, a more motivated and expansionist Emperor of Tsengai would likely be inimical to Cedorian interests, and we therefore recommend efforts be taken to stymie this possibility...

"Well how about that," Chairman Sorenson muttered to himself. These sorts of occurrences were common across the world, and usually they made their way into the document he was reading now, the People's Intelligence Agency daily briefing. Most days, he took the briefing from one of the liasons with the PIA, but today, his domestic policy work had made that unlikely...

However, this Tsengai situation had him troubled. On paper, it was like myriad other small outbreaks of unrest that occurred on a regular basis, nothing to be overly concerned with. But for some reason, Chairman Sorenon's thumb was pricking. Something was up with this one, and it could be trouble for Cedoria, not least that it had happened in a region which Cedoria regarded as rightfully it's own sphere of influence. The new regime would have to be coerced into not taking a threatening posture, or else would have to be contained, for the sake of Cedoria's satellite states and allies in the whole of Asia.

He picked up his desk phone.

"Please get me a line to Foreign Affairs, and tell the Commissar to come to the House, I have a statement to dictate regarding the recent Coup in Tsengai."

Surreptitiously, the Chairman also issued a series of orders for the PIA to shift more eyes onto the situation in Tsengai, satellite intel from the space network would prevent Tsengai from making any major troop movements without Cedorian knowledge.

When drafted, the statement later read the following.

The People's Republic of Cedoria condemns the coup that has taken place within the Empire of Tsengai. While we were no friend to the former government, the new regime's apparent desire to place power into the hands of an unrestrained autocrat can only end poorly for the people of Tsengai, and for the rest of the Asian peoples. We strongly urge the new government to release the political prisoners they have taken, restore freedoms they have suppressed in Tsengai, and promise to refrain from any aggressive moves against their neighbours. We, the People's Republic of Cedoria, will protect the people of the Asia-Pacific region against any acts of aggression by the new regime, and we urge them to submit in order to prevent the risk of spreading unrest.

Freedom in Tsengai does not mean taking advantage of others, stealing from them, without being punished. Freedom does not mean living as one pleases. Nor does it mean preserving one's life through cowardice. Freedom here means choosing to follow the path that the Dharma and Emperor requires. You are slave of yourself, your ego, your desire when you mention freedom.

And you think that we will promise to a foreign, barbarous government not to act on what is best for Tsengaian nation, and Tsengaian people? You are deluded. Tsengai has destroyed the outsider-savages many times before in history, and will do so once more if Cedoria continues to act as an aggressor and interfere in Tsengaian national affairs. Good day.

In light of the impudent and rude rejection of reasonable requests for guarantees of good conduct by the coup plotters in the Empire of Tsengai, the People's Republic has no choice but to adopt measures designed to counteract the threat posed to stability and peace in the region by the Tsengai usurpers.

1: The Department of Foreign Affairs hereby orders economic sanctions on all tradable Tsengai goods, in both Cedoria and all Cedorian affiliated partner nations. This blocking of trade extends to Cedorian SOE's operating abroad, and all nations with whom we have signed Treaties of Economic Cooperation stipulating consistent trading partners. Tsengai will no longer have access to Cedorian or allied markets.

2: We hereby formally issue a condemnation of the coup plotters, and do not recognise their supposed 'government'. Again, we reiterate our previous requests for restoration of the former government, and for negotiations to resolve the country's internal crisis and prevent spreading unrest.

The recent events that have occurred in Tsengai are worrying. The unlawful dismissal of a democratically elected government is not something that we can condone. However, we have heard the support of the Tsengai people for the new leaders is high.

With this in mind, the Kowani government makes the following statement:
I) Refuses to recognize the new government, whether the emperor or the military junta, as legitimate.
II) Places economic sanctions against the Tsengai regime, and asks all members of the Corporation States of Alirus to do so.
III) Freezes all assets controlled by Tsengai nationals within Kowani banks.

However, onto a more unpleasant topic: It has come to my attention, that Tsengai is currently the subject to a number of condemnations and threats, many of which are baseless. In the light of these, I would like to ask you for permission to issue an official statement, that Kyrenaia will protect the independence and sovereignity of Tsengai, with the strength of arms, if necessary, if required, with others working for the same cause.
I would also like to offer you something we call a Treaty of Limited Free Trade, setting tariffs and standards for certain products as well as eliminating those trade barriers for others. Specifics can be handled in a more personal setting then sending messages back and forth, but would Tsengai be interested in such an agreement?

We are certain you are already well aware of the military coup that has embroiled your great nation and the chaos that has erupted as a result, as well as the grave concern the international community has expressed regarding these events. We are writing you on behalf of His Majesty, King Yoshio, on the assumption that your silence on the coup, the actions of the perpetrators, and on the statements made by the Field Marshal Jochi Tumun are because Your Majesty has yet to decide whether to lend your support to the military's actions, or to order their surrender. Instead of engaging with the Field Marshal, we have instead decided to bypass him and appeal to your wisdom and good judgement directly, for we know that it is you that is the true power in Tsengai, which even the perpetrators acknowledge by their claims that they are acting on Your Majesty's behalf.

We are certain that it goes without saying that the Kingdom of Ru strongly urges your Majesty to press upon the ringleaders of this coup the need to stand down immediately, and to command them return the democratically elected government to it's previous position and surrender themselves to your judgment. The only legitimacy to their actions is the current assumption that they are acting on your behalf and with your permission. It is very possible that should you disabuse them of this notion, that they will submit to your will peacefully like the loyal subjects and citizens they are claiming to be. This coup and it's ringleaders have taken it upon themselves to remove a government that has been lawfully and democratically elected by the people of your nation, detain them illegally to prepare trials on false charges of treason, and are attempting to set up a fascist regime that will ultimately ignore the will of the people and the will of Your Majesty in favor of what they feel will allow them to remain in absolute power. They are also through their actions isolating Tsengai from the international community causing untold harm to your great nation financially, diplomatically, and militarily. Empire of Tsengai

Field Marshall Jochi Temun stood before the awe-inspiring Tariamandal Imperial palace at the heart of the capital city of Tariamandal. The whole exterior was almost filled to capacity by masked, unmarked soldiers of the Tsengai Armed Forces, stationed there to ensure safety of the Emperor and the Royal Family after the recent overthrow of government. Temun was here for one reason, to secure the Emperor's support for his actions. If the Emperor ordered Temun to stand down and surrender, it would be a black stain on his honour, and he would have no choice but to commit ritual suicide.

Temun made his way throughout the palace interior, beautifully adorned with countless master works of art, exquisite chandeliers, and bourgeois furniture. As he approached the door leading to the Emperor's study quarters, he removed his shoes and knocked thrice. A soft, but firm voice drifted through the shoji door,

“Enter immediately.”

Temun did as instructed, and harshly bowed at a 45° angle to the Emperor. As he rose from his salutations, he threw both of his hands up to his ears and proclaimed,

“Ten thousand years for the Emperor!”

His Imperial Highness, the Emperor Temüjin IX sat before him in full-lotus position of meditation, his eyes fixated on Jochi. His lopsided fu-manchu styled moustache drooped over his mouth, and obscured some of his speech. As the Emperor began to speak, Jochi knelt, and lowered his gaze. It is considered custom in Tsengai to bow towards the Emperor, and never directly look at him.

“You have overthrown the civilian organs of government. I already know. News fast approached me from the Diet chambers. While I am shocked that you have had the audacity to take such extreme measures, I am not opposed. You are acting in my behest, correct? You base this off Imperial Custom that the Royal Family should not directly involve themselves within politics, correct?”

“Yes, Your Majesty.” Jochi replied. A small shake was starting to form in him, he was starting to get worried.

“Well then. It is my duty to inform you, your actions have not gone unnoticed. Within all formal capacities and powers vested in me as the Emperor of Tsengai, I order you and your forces to stand down, and relinquish all control to me. The putsch is over, and I offer my sincere gratitude for your actions, Temun.”

Jochi could not believe it, the Emperor had supported the coup. Jochi nodded in affirmation, once again bowed and saluted the Emperor, and left. It was over. He had succeeded.

To all Tsengaians, and the International Community:

By this time now, you are all aware of a coup d'état that took place on the 14^th of Savana, 2562, Imperial calendar. Many international leaders opposed to the forceful overthrow of what had seemed a democratic administration by contrast have questioned my silence on the subject. Now I am speaking. The régime of Tsolmon Esugen was not what it had seemed. Under his brutal reign, he imprisoned countless innocent Tsengaians, allowed the corporate robber-barons to exploit our poor, rural population, harshly used his unique police detachment to silence all criticism of himself, and made numerous attempts to have myself, the Emperor, removed from the Throne. Now Field Marshal Jochi Temun, commander-in-chief of the Tsengai Armed Forces, acted in pure bliss and ecstasy for his country, and its future. Having met with me before writing this letter, I have ordered him to relinquish his de-facto control of the Empire to me, to which he has obliged. On this day, 16^th of Savana, 2562 Imperial calendar, I proclaim the Temüjin Restoration! A threefold system of national-reorginisation shall be implemented.

1. SUSPENSION OF THE CONSTITUTION

For the Emperor and all the Tsengaian people to determine the basis for the national reorganization on the basis of Imperial Authority the Constitution, drafted 1982 will be suspended for three years, the Imperial Diet shalt be dissolved and the entire nation brought under martial law. During this period a radical restructuring of the Tsengaian social model will occur, with the Emperor at the top of the pyramid.

2. LIMIT OF PRIVATE WEALTH

A Tsengaian citizen will be allowed to own property up to a limit of Nar 3,000,000 per family. The same ceiling will apply to Tsengaian nationals owning property abroad. Violations of this limit by donating the property to blood relatives or others, and attempts to transfer ownership in any other manner, will not be permitted. The Empire will take over all property exceeding the limit without paying compensation. The existing law cannot be used to justify refusal to hand over such property. If there is someone who seeks to violate this law, he will be seen as bringing into contempt the authority of the Emperor and endangering the fundamental principles of the reorganization of the nation. The crime of endangering the Emperor and that of rebellion against the nation will be enforced during the period of martial law, and for such crimes the death sentence is administered.

In the future, after the reorganization, those who acquire wealth exceeding the limit on private property will deliver that amount to the Empire. The Empire will regard this as rational labour and accept this payment as a donation and will adopt a policy of clearly regarding this as meritorious labour. It will not be possible, with the intention of avoiding this objective, to distribute or donate to blood relatives or others. The penalty for violators will be decided under the law. It should be understood that he origin of wealth at present and after the Reorganization will be different….

3. LIMITS ON PRIVATELY-OWNED ENTERPRISES

The capital of privately-owned enterprises will be limited to Nar 10 million. The same will be applicable to privately-owned Tsengaian enterprises abroad. Those enterprises that exceed the limit on private enterprises will be consolidated and managed by the Empire. Compensation will be made by public bonds bearing 3 per cent interest. Compensation and its relation to private wealth will be based entirely on the limit on private wealth. The limit on private property and on private enterprises will not be considered in the same way. The limit on those who own private enterprises, whether limited on unlimited, and conduct business using loans will be completely different from the former. The very rich will be left with only Nar 1 million, as the Empire will acquire enterprises and land in excess of this. At the same time, those with stock or capital of less than Nar I million will be compensated, without injury, when the Empire acquires the companies in excess of this. The middle and lower classes will not be inconvenienced in the least; only the bourgeios will be affected.

Currently, capital works for its own private benefit and under its private management, just as the Khaganate used soldiers to kill and control the lives of people for their own, individual purposes. It is comparable to the state in the USA which allows railways, telegraph and other social amenities to be controlled by private capital The capitalists are fighting among themselves to who can gain the most material wealth. If the sole purpose of the Empire is to ensure peace and order among the people then the capitalists who continually threaten the people must be curbed by the Empire, and if it does not do this then it is tantamount to there being no Empire. There is no reason to fear anarchists but it is very dangerous if a Empire itself neglects its own duties and functions.

When looked at positively, it is a more rational form of governance when the Empire takes the initiative for the unification of 'big capital' when compared to 'trusts' and the 'cartels'. The future productive powers of the Empire will be far greater than in the earlier period of confiscations, as there is a far more reasonable match between theory and practice.

After these reforms are implemented in totality, Tsengai will enter a new age of peace, stability, and power. In the name of the Emperor.

General Kitagou Ayaka stood in front of a large map sprawled across the tall wall before her, it was a map of Asia and the whole of the Pacific. Lights had lit up over the Japanese Homeland indicating that IJA and IJN bases were mobilising troops, should the need arise in which Japan would have to go to war on behalf of Tsengai. Ayaka herself was known as the Shogun's bloodhound. She hunted the enemies of Japan in foreign lands with brutal efficiency and it looked to her as if she was going to have to do it again. "Going to war for another country, to expand our influence over the world... Huh?" Ayaka looked to her left, about to respond to the voice that came from her left behind her, it was Admiral Ito Genda of the IJN, she'd decided early on in her career to not butt heads with the admiral, for good reason. Not like his relationship to Regent Takatsukasa was much of a state secret.

"Indeed. Dogs needing to be put in their place, likely, should they feel foolish enough to try and push against the will of the Shogunate." Ayaka responded to which Admiral Genda simply shrugged his shoulders. "With all due respect, General, I have the feeling if we announce we'd be sending you to lead our men, as soon as the enemies of the Shogunate got a hold of your file and your very well known crimes, they'd probably consider backing down immediately." Admiral Genda said, whether he was joking or not mattered very little to Ayaka. She simply turned her head back to the Map in front of her. "Of course. My reputation should likely be known to all who have the slightest knowledge of our military. However I fear the situation in North Africa may yet cause me to be already occupied with other matters..... Though I'm always up for the challenge of a two front campaign." Ayaka said as a smile donned on her face and she turned to Admiral Genda... Of whom knew the smile well. ... It was a smile of which whom everyone had seen it before knew, she was now thinking about spilling blood... Among... Other things.

"Right... Well I think I shall keep out of your way, General, instead I'll allow one of the Nishimura twins to tackle the issue on the IJN's part. ...I wonder if the IJRG will be joining... Should conflict arise and the Emperor of Tsengai accept our offer." Genda said to which Ayaka turned back to the map and simply waved him off. "I'm sure some fool will think himself unbeatable. ...And that will be the perfect time to beat him into the ground and force an early meeting with his ancestors...." Ayaka said, Genda would have continued the conversation but he knew better. Nothing more had to be said, and so he simply nodded his head and walked away from the General, leaving her to her... Now, allow Us to come to the more interesting part, namely: In his last communication with the Field Marshal, Our Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Vizier Hassan ben Sahid, had offered a statement for the international community, that Kyrenaia would protect the freedom and sovereignity of Tsengai, with the strength of arms if necessary. The Royal Justiciar is, in all things, merely an extension of the will of the Crown. He, or she, is appointed by the Crown on the nomination of the Captain of Justiciars and may be any Kouralian politician - Senator or Noble Assemblyman. They read documents prepared and scrutinised by countless expert professionals who have dedicated careers - whole lives - to excellence in their chosen field, and make far-reaching decisions with the backing of full Royal Authority: even if their understanding of that field has been limited to precious few years, months, or even weeks in that office. However, as the political masters of the bureaucracies and executive departments of the Kouralian state, this inexperience was known and accepted. The people of Kouralia elected their Captain and on his accession to the Under-Palace of Justice, that quaint blue hall at the foot of the mountainous and castle-topped Steelmarket Rise, he chose his cabinet of thirteen Justiciars to manage the affairs of their departments. One would oversee the Treasury, another Industry and Trade, another Education, and, of course, another the Military.

"The Empire of Tsengai has recently undergone a coup in the last few days, and it would appear that a number of nations have taken positions for and against the new regime."

"The Empire of Tsengai?" The Justiciar said curiously as he began to thumb through the file. "I don't remember that name at all."

"No, sir, you wouldn't." The Permanent Secretary said. "They're inconsequential: not from around here, not a major partner, not someone we've dealt with before... But we have an embassy there, and as of today an unknown number of Kouralian citizens may be in-country." He paused, before flicking his copy to a specific page. "Now, section four does outline a possible estimate based on those who have directly flown from Kouralian airports, or who have made bookings partially fulfilled by airlines flying from Kouralia or Kouralian-based carriers, but the main things is that we need to look at getting them out of there right now. Especially any citizens who may have settled and set down roots. The new regime has today announced a set of new wealth-redistribution measures, opposition to which is punishable by death."

"So, what are we to do?" The Justiciar said. "We don't have sufficient reason to involve ourselves so heavily in any coming war: the only thing we can really look at doing in relation to this is extracting Kouralian citizens and ensuring that any national interests are protected there. This plan involves heavy use of Fifth Fleet assets which are more-or-less in the vicinity, and just requires you to second the War Office's assent so we can forward it to the Captain.

"Oh, and to open channels with the Tsengai...ans." He added. "This is admittedly something we'll need to accomplish before any ill-feeling sets in and they decide to oppose our efforts, whether due to an active hostility or because they want to look like they're resisting foreign influence in their nation."

Shogun Koubuin turned off her television in her office after she had watched over the Thermodolian's own national television, resources of Tsengai and it's government were apparently seized by the National Revenue Service in Thermodolia. The Japanese would not allow for this blatant act against a fellow Asiatic nation to go through without any repercussions. And so she'd have to push back, as Japan was the sole representative for Asian unity. Hitting a black button on the side of her desk, at the other end of her office, her assistant Imperial Japanese Royal Guard Vassal Retainer, Michiru Isumi would open the double doors to the office and step inside, bowing her head to the Shogun before she shut the doors behind herself.

"What is it you require, you majesty?" Michiru asked and Yuuhi leaned forward on her desk, clasping her hands together. "Inform the Kempetai that Thermodolians in the country are to be rounded up and sent to camps in Manchuria, the ambassador of Thermodolia as well as his staff are to be deported, all possessions in the embassy and otherwise belonging to Thermodolian citizens in the Empire are to be seized, in addition, assets belonging to Thermodolian businesses operating in Japanese territory and the home islands are to be seized as well." Having received only impudence in response to his previous requests, Chairman Sorenson was now prepared to order an escalation of Cedoria's response. The spy networks he had ordered were now in a better position to get a fuller idea of the internal situation within Tsengai. He had one eye fixed on the diplomatic manouvering of other powers as well, with some smaller number of nations beginning to speak in support of Tsengai. The plans made by the new government had also been publicly announced, and were inimical to Cedorian interests. A fascistic regime leading a rejuvanated Tsengai in the middle of Cedoria's sphere of influence would not be tolerated.

Firstly, the Chairman ordered the PIA to begin preparing a team of ground agents to infiltrate Tsengai at various points to gain a clearer picture of events on the ground. If necessary, these agents later on could engage in subversion, sabotage, assassination, and any other operations deemed necessary. With multiple nations now being drawn in, Chairman Sorenson feared the possibility of a broader escalation of tensions into an all-out regional war.

And if history suggested one thing, it's that an overwhelming show of force would often be enough to halt a conflict before it began. So it would be here.

The following day, orders were sent out to deploy the Stavros carrier battlegroup. Streaming from the north coast of Cedoria, they would engage in a number of military exercises just inside Tsengai's territorial waters. A full complement of Sea Marines and People's Airforce of Cedoria planes would accompany them for the war game exercises. If it came to war, Cedoria would have a full naval taskforce ready for action.

As for the purpose of putting it just WITHIN Tsengai's territorial waters, well, the size and intimidatory factor of the fleet Cedoria was sending might be enough to dissuade them from attack, but if this new regime was serious, then the Cedorian battlegroup would be an intolerable provocation. The new regime would need to either concede to Cedorian demands, or fight a vastly superior enemy that had parked itself right in their neighbourhood. Fighting them, if it was necessary, was optimal when the new regime was just beginning to establish itself, rather than a more consolidated power.

Chairman Sorenson, upon issuing these orders, then summoned further help from the Department of Foreign Affairs. A flurry of communiques were produced in the following hours.

No doubt you are fully aware of the developing situation within the Empire of Tsengai. The civilian government has been overthrown, an Emperor has assumed total and dictatorial power, supported by a ruthless caste of military officers who have purged their opposition and suppressed their enemies.

Given your nation's previous condemnation of the actions of the coup plotters, we felt it safe to inform you that we are no friend to the new regime. A Cedorian carrier battlegroup is as of this moment on it's way towards Tsengai's territorial waters, as a show of force to prevent the prospect of spreading unrest. It is our hope that this show of overwhelming force will force Tsengai's leaders to realise their provocations have consequences, hopefully nullifying the risk of war.

We do not care about the end result of Tsengai's internal politics, so long as the new arrangement in the country ceases to pose a risk to the stability and peace of our own Asian region we value so much. If your nation supports this end as well, then we are natural allies. Our attempts to respond diplomatically thus far have been ineffective and we fear the worst.

With your government's authorisation, I would like to formally request Thermodalian involvement in what I hope will be an international operation. We hope you shall deploy forces alongside ours near Tsengai, to show the flag and convince the Tsengai ruler that he cannot threaten and bully his way around international affairs. A show of combined strength from those willing to oppose him has the best chance of sending the appropriate message without war.

Should things escalate, a Thermodalian presence would expedite the speedy resolution of matters in Tsengai enormously. Any military officials that you believe should go before an international tribunal that were caught by Cedorian forces would be handed over without complaint.

We formally therefore ask that Thermodalia consider joining us on this venture, to bring the newly empowered Emperor to heel, and restore peace and security to this region by preventing an escalation of tensions. Your nation's presence would be of enormous assistance, and we are happy to address any concerns you might have regarding joint intervention.

We share a common goal, and would like to work with your nation's armed forces to secure our mutual objectives.

As you are no doubt aware of developments taking place in Tsengai, we would formally like to request Halend's assistance in ensuring a swift and speedy resolution. As a fellow socialist state, Halend shares Cedoria's interest in the contiuation of a peaceful and stable international order in the Asian region, the maintenance of which is threatened by recent events in Tsengai.

Our attempts at diplomatic overtures have been met with threats and bluster, and the empowerment of Tsengai's Emperor as an absolute Monarch is of grave concern. Asian Fascism caused devastation and misery on a vast scale only a few generations ago, and it's prospective re-emergence is to be prevented at all costs.

To that end, we humbly request that Halend consider authorising a military deployment of assets to accompany the Cedorian carrier battle group Stavros. A multi-national coalition with an overwhelming show of force is perhaps the best possible demonstration that might persuade the Tsengai to back down from their position without war. If the demonstration fails, their presence would expedite a speedy resolution to any conflict in the region.

Obviously, these goals are in the interests of both our states. We hope to ensure that this arrangement will secure a continuing peace in this region, and would duly consider the development of friendlier relations with Halend on a more permanent basis should your involvement be essential in this process.

In response to the ongoing destabilisation of the region, and the growing concern about the threatening posture adopted by elements in Tsengai, Chairman Treavor Sorenson has authorised the deployment of the Stavros carrier battlegroup in response to the situation in Tsengai. This group will conduct war games exercises alongside an international coalition of forces, and we invite any who wish to ensure a swift and peaceful resolution to the Tsengai Crisis to join this multi-national effort.

We will not fire upon any Tsengai assets in the region. We will respond to attacks or provocations on our forces. These units are intended as a stabilising measure to ensure the continued security and tranquility of the areas around Tsengai until we are satisfied that the potential for conflict in the region has dissipated. The carrier group will be a vital part of this process.

As always, the People's Republic firmly urges ALL parties in Tsengai to come to an agreement on the terms we have outlined previously. We prefer peace, but if necessary, are prepared for war.

This bold move was the most brazen move yet, and a significant demonstration of Cedorian intent. If nothing else, any war in the region would be a shorter one for their presence...

OOC: Tsengai, it's getting a little crowded in here. Obviously this RP has some attention, which is good. Set up an Out-Of-Character thread and start getting people to pose their info there. If this does escalate to war, we'll need ORBATS and things, as well as making sure we know whose on whose side so we keep track of everything.

I'd also recommend everyone take a moment to post on any such thread just to ensure we're all on the same page about whose doing what. Too many RPs can run away with themselves if they're let and I don't want that happening here.
