World Climate and Terrain: Icons on Map (Very similar to Earth)

Day Length: Approximately 24 hours
Year Length: Approximately 360 days

Standard Solarian Calendar: For simplicity's sake, the year length is 360 days long, divided into 12 Months, with 30 days per month. We will use a 7 day week cycle (Approximately 51 Weeks in a year), very similar to Earth. Days and Months follow a similar naming pattern to the real world.

Summer Solstice: End of June/Beginning of July.
Winter Solstice: Usually occurs around New Years Eve; IE at the end of December/Beginning of January.

Calendar Epoch: The epoch designation of the SSC is New Era (N.E.). The Standard Solarian Calendar was adopted shortly after regular space travel was established. The end of the modern era (Equivalent to modern day on Earth) was set as year 0 N.E. Sunday, January 1st, 1 N.E. was established as the official start and adoption of the Standard Solarin Calendar.

Jackania
On January the 1st, N.E., New Years celebrations carried on into the morning, fireworks blasting into the darkness. Unfortunately, they were not the only explosives in Azure City. Two bombs were set off at 8:16 in the morning in the capital city of Jackania, one at the naval dry-docks, killing 86 sailors and 14 civilians, along with a bomb at the Legislative building in what appeared to be an attempt on President Joseph Samson's life. 5 guards, and another 5 legislators were killed, but the President is believed to have survived.

The attack was claimed by the Jackanian Liberation Movement, a militant group attempting to overthrow the current government and instill what its version of "true democracy" as a criticism of the regimes current state. The attacks were inspired by what JLM leader Levi Macdon describes as "moves by the regime to extinguish democracy in Jackania". In a video, he detailed that the naval docks were holding weapons to be used against the Jackanian people should they revolt. He also continued in a rant off the danger Joseph Samson poses as an autocrat and that he must be taken out of power.

It is unsure what steps will be taken to prevent further attacks, but surely some investigation and possible retaliation will occur with the JLM's first strike ushering in the New Year. The JLM is made up of many democratic sympathizers and enemies of the regime, believed to be based in between the rural borderlands of Jackania and the northern wilderness. Several high profile members of the JLM currently have asylum in the neighboring state of New Min as well as in the Levite Confederation, a small confederation of communities existing independently in the Eastern wilderness's Crique River.

New Min
Riots have begun in New Min as fear grips the nation. Worried of possible retaliation by Jackania, nationalist mobs attacked the Jackanian embassy, breaking down its gates and shattering windows with bricks and bottles. Police and military forces quickly moved off the mob, but throughout the nation, tensions are rising. Other mobs however were quick to attack the Martin Hotel, where rumors circulated JLM leaders were staying. A mob attacked the hotel and began breaking into and looting rooms, only to find the rumors were false. Similar events are occurring across the nation.

Farahdeen
Meanwhile, in the Shining Republic of Farahdeen, soldiers have gone on strike on at the Ali Khaled Air Base and walked off base in masse as a sign of protest for better wages. After being used constantly to suppress rioters across the country, the military has seen several walk outs as the nations economy confronts an enormous wage gap between its ruling and working classes.

Durzanian intelligence satellites intercepted communications coming from the nations of Jackania, New Min, and Farahdeen. Jackania suffered from a bombing during the New Year's celebration, New Min is reeling from mass rioting and protests, while soldiers in Farahdeen are staging mass strikes. Cause currently unknown.

Mathew Ray sat alone in his office drinking his morning coffee while watching the news. He was watching DBS News at the time when there was breaking news.

When the breaking news ended and the news returned to normal, President Ray knew something had to be done. He stood up and paced around his office for a few moments. He couldn't decide whether to send aid to the countries or protect his own. After minutes of pacing Ray finally had an idea. He trudged over to his desk, grabbed his computer and began typing.

The old, carved stone doors which guarded the Great Hall of the Royal Fort slowly opened. The King was sat in the charred throne, surrounded by his friends and court. Two Royal Guards marched in dressed in their ceremonial uniforms. They knelt before the throne and bowed for the 10 seconds as is customary, "My Liege," they both uttered in unison.

The king made a motion with his hand, "You may rise. Why is it that the court has been interrupted?"

"My liege, a message has arrived from the United Conservative Provinces." Uttered the slightly taller guard.

The King sighed as he read the message and began to hand write one back, "The south evidently do not understand our system. A shame that we will have to waste their time on this occasion."

Understood President Samson, I can have a contingent of OST Infantry ready to be deployed to the outskirts of Azure City in less than an hour, followed by a detachment of traditional soldiers to arrive by jet. They will be ordered to do all in their power to help secure the immediate areas around the bombings and administer additional medical aid with what equipment they can bring with them. However, they by themselves will not be able to bring with them extra supplies. OST are deployed from Phoenix Space Station in re-usable drop pods, which can only carry a limited number of troops or supplies. As such, major supply and troop transports have to be brought by shuttle, which are slower but can carry more advanced machinery, supplies, and equipment.

As such, I will order a small portion of the troops to secure an empty field which shall be used as a staging area for additional supply and troop drops as requested by you and your people. Once that area is secure and we have enough the needed equipment for scouring the surrounding area, we ca

Tell your generals and police forces that you have requested Durzanian aid and to not fire upon them when they arrive. Instruct them to work alongside them, and we shall be able to restore order in a quick and efficient manner. I would also instruct them not to harm civilians unless they are clearly attacked first. The harming of civilians is a sure way to ignite even more destructive problems, and right now, the last thing we want is the capital to be thrown into a bloody civil war.

Aid the local police and military in stabilizing the capital and engaging the terrorists. Treat and care for the wounded. 3. Hold for additional reinforcements.

Total Troops Deployed: 1500 Imperial Troops. Specifically 300 OST (Plus Support and Medical staff), 1200 Infantry Soldiers (Including support, supplies, and light vehicles).

Southern Jackania, City of New Azure
With a military crackdown in effect, the day after the capital bombings has scarred the nation of Jackania. In the southern port city of New Azure, a riot over rising bread prices took a turn as military police patrolling the area came under barrage from Bricks and bottles. After an officer opened fire, killing an older women, the rioters attack the platoon, killing 2 soldiers and beating 4 others. At hearing the sounds of revolt, the city erupted into riots. The bombing had shown that he government was not as invincible as the Jackanian people thought. Several fires have engulfed the Propaganda Ministry and government sector of the city.

The flame is catching across southern Jackania, one of the more liberal regions of the nation. Later in the day, an attack in northern Jackania left a radio station plundered and was used to send out news of the southern uprisings. While the JLM took credit for they attack, they have distanced themself from the riots, stating they are “an organic offshoot” of the capital bombings. The broadcast also warned of foreign invasion to prop up the “tyrant”. The JLM held the station for an hour but the broadcast was shut off in minutes. The transmission however has sent the north into chaos, threatening civil war in the nation. The world watches anxiously as the Jackanian government reacts.

[Tongan Coast]

Solarian Tower, Newborough, Tongan Coast

President John Eden stood overlooking the city of Newborough from the almost completed Solarian Tower. Deep down he felt pride seeing the projects completion, but at the surface he was wearing thin. Quietly under his authority the Tongan Coast had become a respectable nation, with a happy population.
The military wasn't cutting edge, but it was a lot more improved than when he had taken office over a decade ago, and was more sufficient for the needs of the country, they had little use for them in recent years. The Tongan Coast, though some jokingly called them the hermit kingdom due to their isolationist policies.

Times were changing though, and this building was evidence of that. A growing number of the citizens wanted The Tongan Coast to be more mindful of those around it, and to help foster peace throughout the world. The building was to be part of a multi-step proposal President Eden had laid out in his last campaign to bring The Tongan Coast to the forefront of international relations.

The building, a large skyscraper named the Solarian Tower, was to be the headquarters to what President Eden thought was the future of the world. An organization filled with member nations who could work together to pass resolutions to help solve the problems the world faced. Many nations, working together for one goal, striving to make the world a better place.

President Eden's hopes were high, but he was no fool. An organization of this size would take a lot of work, and achieving what he envisioned would be no easy task, nonetheless he had to try. The first step was getting all the necessary players in the right place.

As President Eden excited the building and got into his limo, he was greeted by one of his advisors with the days intelligence briefing. For now the world seemed calm, with a slight exception being the unrest in some of the western most countries. What a great place for the League of Solaria to have an official start, if only we had of started this project sooner he thought to himself. After reading the briefing he instructed word to be sent to the Office of Foreign Affair to send out the predetermined statement to the other nations of the world. They had not had much conversation in the past, but he hoped that the little that they had previously would suffice for at least a response.

Upon returning to his office it was determined that the Tongan Coast would too see if there was anyway they could help prop up the governments in the western countries to prevent the loss of unnecessary human life. It was determined that the Tongan Coast would reach out there as well.

The ongoing efforts spearheaded by the Stoklomolvi Commerce Commissariat to further increase their automated reach have allowed the Stoklomolvi economy to reach 97.4% automation. The figure was computed by the sapient artificial intelligence network that governs the overwhelming majority of the Stoklomolvi economy.

Stoklomolvi economists have frequently stated that the reason the Stoklomolvi economy is able to be largely state-owned and government-run is that this AI has proven itself to possess the ability to react and adapt to new economic situations far more efficiently and effectively than prior human management ever could.

Democracies, Republics, free citizens of the world. I call out to you in desperation. The Jackanian people have long suffered under the authoritarian and oppressive regime of the national socialist ideology of the tyrant Samson. The tribal population in our country has been decimated by government policies, many forced into the poorer regions in the north of the country. Our civil liberties are non-existent, and there has been little to no protest as the people fear the regime.

We have seen neighbors disappear, friends arrested, and all those near and dear to us live in constant fear of death. On top of it all, our communities starve while the regime and its collaborators flourish in mansions and seaside apartments. We have no way of providing for our families unless we sell our soul to the party and our leader. We have no lifestyle to live that is not a part of the state.

We have had no chance to express our discontent, even in our sham of a legislature. The National Legislature has been stripped of its powers and lost any diversity of thought. Only one party runs for seats and only one party votes. This is not democracy Since we have had no voice and no way to sign our anger, we rise.

Our bombs were not an attack on the people, we did not bomb a mall,airport, or stadium. We bombed the regime. We killed the enemy. We showed that the people will not be silent, and now the people have spoken. The people all across our nation are rising to our call. We showed that the regime was not invincible and that our voices would be heard. And we will be heard.

Opique Tribe Lands, near southeast Durza
A mayor of a small frontier town in southeast Durza was kidnapped from a gas station in the early hours of January the 3rd. The mayor was on his way to a meeting with land developers when horsemen and a motorcyclist pulled up and beat the man. He was then dragged down the street and into the wilderness, and has not been seen since. The horsemen began shooting off rifles as they left the street, and a flaming arrow shot into the store.

This comes as escalating tensions on the frontier have left several tribes of the Wampauq nation seeking a defense pact with Stoklomolvi out of fear of encroaching Durzan settlers. While the Opique tribe has not been apart of this proposed pact, many see the possible alliance as an affront to the Durzan Empire.

Farahdeen
Soldiers have joined in marches across the nation to voice discontent with the current regime. The marches have gained thousands from the ranks of the army and are the first mass protest of the regime in over a decade. Many are attributing the activism and unrest to the pro-democracy movement in neighboring Jackania. While no unifying leader has emerged, the people continue to add to the protest and the masses grow day by day. With further silence from the government, there seems to be a road to revolution off in the distance

Also, an investigation has revealed JLM forces have been supplied assault rifles, light machine guns, and rocket launchers through black market contacts selling off abandoned Farahdeenian equipment. The investigation is continuing to look into what else might have been purchased by the group.


New Min Riots continue in the face of law enforcement and police. Uproar has increased at the conspiracy of troop deployment and loss of national identity. Also, it has been confirmed Levi Macdon of the JLM was in New Min during the Azure Bombings, but has since left the county along with his "cabinet". Their current whereabouts are unknown.

President Ray walked down the steps of the capital building to his presidential vehicle that was waiting for him at the bottom. He was going to meet senator Conway to discuss the bill he had requested a few days earlier with high hopes of it strengthening the military of the UCP. Close to his car was a large crowd of news reporters and journalists. They were all asking questions trying to get close enough to the president so that he would answer, but the line of police kept them a few feet away from the car. President Ray smiled and waved at the crowd as one reporter yelled, "What are you going to do about the recent attacks in Jackania?". As this question was voiced the crowd went silent as all the reporters and journalists listened intently.

Ray slowly brought his hand down and the smile fell from his face. He took a deep breathe and began to address the question, "We are not sure what is going to be done about the recent attacks in Jackania. It is a very complicated issue due to the UCP wanting peace with other nations but wanting to bring about the freedom of all people in all nations." Ray thought back to the telegram he had read from the JLM Chairman, Levi Macdon. He began to speak again, "One matter I can assure to the public is we are working on strengthening our relations with our neighboring nations. We are expecting to be constructing embassies with multiple other nations in the near future." He nodded his head and began to enter the vehicle.

The vehicle pulled away from the capital building. Mrs. Jenson, Ray's secretary, was sitting in the back seat with him. "President Ray" she said trying to get his attention, "We have received a letter from King Sindlanil I Allyrius. He has asked you to re direct the telegram you sent a few days ago." She handed him the letter.

President Ray chuckled under his breathe, "I do love hand written sentiments every now and then, but they really are less time and cost effective. Mrs. Jensen, please send another telegram to Prime Minister Kristina Larathael of Allyrije regarding the state of Jackania and proposing the construction of embassies between our natons. This is a very important matter that must be deliberated soon."

The streets of Emerald City were packed as the clock struck twelve. Massive seas of people flooded the streets hours before and braved the cold to watch the New Year’s military parade and hear the Empress pro tem speak before she flew back east. Though the real draw was the light show at the Pyramid, the glass and steel mega structure housing the Imperial Government at the center of Emerald City.

Servicemen in every branch were required to wear their dress uniforms if they were present in the capital or participating in New Year’s Eve celebrations elsewhere. But unlike the other four branches, the Military Police had been forced into their winter uniforms this year. They regularly tried to distinguish themselves as the single paramilitary branch of the armed forces under the direct command of the Empress. Large gray and black overcoats with white fur collars that spread shoulder width. They were overkill and the leadership knew it. Completely unnecessary considering the warmer weather of the capitol.

Yzebel and Demetrie had drifted further from Esmeraude Avenue, hopping from bar to bar, in search of something familiar. A Beringian New Years Eve celebration not stifled by the security and order of the capital police. Heavy drinking, bonfires, fireworks, and guns. Having spent most of her life in the country, Yzebel had been convinced she wouldn’t see anything like it this year. That’s when they rounded a corner and the scent of charred wood assaulted their sense of smell. A block later an intersection with what looked to be a controlled burn at it’s center came into view.

There was music, large crowd, free drinks being passed around, firecrackers shooting off into the sky, and a fire. Not a paltry trashcan fire they’ve seen outside of bars, but an actual towering flame. Without overhead power lines, trees, or anything else in the way it could grow to a healthy size.

“Yzebel! Demetrie!” a boisterous voice called out from behind them. As they turned around they could plainly see the Army’s Chemical Warfare Corps made the same mistake as the military police. A tall figure in a black overcoat and large snow leopard print fur collar stood across the street with open arms. Anton ran up to Yzebel and Demetrie and buried their faces in the fur on his shoulders to embrace them both. Without much warning he grabbed their faces and planted kisses on their cheeks one by one before throwing his arms over their shoulders.

“I haven’t seen you two since selection. Ah specialist,” Anton said as he tapped the rank insignia on Demetrie’s coat. “What are you two doing here in military police colors, you’ll scare everyone off.” Anton handed them both beers and pulled his phone from his pocket as it began to vibrate and sat it down on a nearby table.

“I doubt it, no one cares about MP’s this far north of Esmeraude,” Demeterie said as he subtly put distance between himself and Anton. “And great seeing you again. I didn’t realize you’d be in Emerald City.”

“This even okay,” asked Yzebel as she looked toward the fire.

“No, I’ve got this under control,” Anton said as he gestured towards the large bonfire. He picked up his phone and continued, “This is mostly what we do all day on base. This or set off gas and fight each other in it.”

“Right… One minute,” Yzebel said as her phone began to vibrate. She quickly read the message and elbowed Demetrie to show him her phone. A mobilization alert from their commanding officer. They were to report to a base close to the New Min border in the west. Anton looked up from his phone with a wide smile and raised it above his head. “I’m deploying!”


The Violet Palace, The DeRoche Estate - January 2-3rd, Year 1 N.E.

Renata had retreated from her New Year’s party to her office hidden among the gardens of the DeRoche Estate. The newly constructed offices for Renata’s Department of the Reigning Monarch sat by a small waterfall on the edge of a secluded forested lake in the middle of the estate, surrounded trees as if the space was made expressly for it. The blue light of her television was the only thing on in her private office as she drank alone. In between slamming the glass down on the desk and filling it back up she’d occasionally rearrange papers on her desk she gazed at the footage of the new years eve speech she had delivered the morning before.

Her speech painted a bleak picture of a crumbling west, one Beringia wasn’t a part of. To the northwest was a nation that couldn’t maintain basic order and rule of law but could possibly thrive under the tenants of Beringian Fascism. Beyond that lied a nation that had been rocked by terrorist attacks and strife. Renata had tasked the various intelligence agencies of Old Beringia to observe those responsible, the Jackanian Liberation Movement, very closely. And finally beyond that was Farahdeen, a state that could very well end up like the previous two.

The future she painted for Beringians was very bright by contrast. Renata declared that Beringia would no longer be left behind. Technological developments years in the making would soon be coming to fruition. Every subject was going to have to help shoulder the burden in three chief ways: through labor, through conquest, and through scientific advancement. The supremacy of the Beringian people would be known around the world. And she would be the one to make that happen. Or at least that’s what she said in her speech. What it all really meant was taxes were going to start creeping upward, military units were going to be deployed and reactivated, and the Imperial government was going to begin handing out draft waivers and poaching promising students from universities among other things.

The work of running the Empire didn’t slow down for the holiday and has continued to pile up on her desk. In the last few days Renata approved the activation of several garrisons of the military police which were now making preparations to deploy to the border between Old Beringia and New Min. Funds were appropriated to be covertly funneled into opposition parties and groups within New Min. The Department of Intelligence, Investigation, and Insulation had been tasked with finding a way to contact the Jackanian Liberation Movement under the guise of a neutral non-state party.

Renata had also received a letter from President Eden in the typically reclusive Tongan Coast. An invitation to join a supposed League of Solaria. Any participation in such an organization would be nominal at best but the veneer of decorum was always important. Since it arrived on her desk a day ago the letter had been riddled with notes in the margins. For now she was only going to quietly reach out to New Min and Jackania. Farahdeen, while a curious case, wasn’t of much concern at the moment. At least not until the Beringian intelligence apparatus had a firmer grasp on the nature of the protests there over the next few days. The DIII started investing resources in the monitoring of internet traffic there in particular.

The Prime Minister was in her office, reading letters and documents from party members and officials. She turned her tall, black leather armchair around and stood up. Her heels clicked as they met the polished wooden floor and she gazed out of the windows onto the capital, with the lights of the city reflected in the shimmering and almost still waters of the Lake Illinalta. For nearly 10 years she had led this nation, she had seen it grow and become richer and more prosperous than ever before. She sighed and rubbed her temple. Despite all her efforts at home, the world was still as unstable as ever. All she could do was shield her nation and people from the rest of the world - nothing more nothing less.

Her Secretary, a thin blonde woman in her early twenties called Thyra burst into the room, "Madam, I'm so sorry to disturb you but your office has received a telegram."

The Prime Minister turned around and began to walk back to her desk, spinning her chair back to its original position as she did so. She sat back down in her chair, "Who sends telegrams at this hour Thyra? I have to respond to these letters from the party members and cabinet officials. With the elections just around the corner, we need to get the entire party behind me. Leave it in my inbox and I'll read it when I have the time."

Thyra was a little startled, "Madam Prime Minister, it's from the south and was classified as urgent. It would be best if you read it now, with all due respect." Thyra placed the unopened telegram on the Prime Minister's desk, making sure to leave her work and desk layout undisturbed."

Thyra left the office and the Prime Minister sighed. She grabbed a knife from one of the drawers underneath her desk and cut the lapel before reading the Telegram, "It's rare that the south message us these days," she uttered under her breath before putting the knife back into the drawer. She began to type a telegram in reply.

Evening

Commander Jason Orretta of the 5th OST Division watched with disgust from his tent as the glowing light of flames and the roar of rioting civilians steadily grew. He grimaced at the thought of what was going on inside the city.
Stupidity, He thought to himself, I don’t care what excuses you give, rioting doesn’t solve any problems. It just causes more pain and anguish.
He and his contingent of OSTs were deployed late at night on January 1st as soon as they were able to gather the necessary supplies from abroad Phoenix Space Station. Their mission was to secure a staging ground outside the city, and to gather intel on specific state of the city before the first wave of IAD troops arrived via shuttle and jet. After establishing a perimeter, they had scouted the city, only to find that things were on a razor’s edge, and that they didn’t have the raw numbers to help maintain order. The OST’s would have to pull back and wait for reinforcements.
When the OST withdrew, the local government attempted to crack down on all civilians, despite the warning that Emperor Dhumesdae had given him. The result was the stupidity that was now causing the city to catch on fire.
Orretta shook his head. He wanted to put a stop to this nonsense, but with only the 300 OSTs and their supports under his direct command, there was no way that he could accomplish this. So they sat and waited, knowing that the city was rapidly falling to barbarism.
Nothing quite like the stupidity of mob action to almost cause you to lose your appetite, he thought, as he turned away from the sight. Reluctantly, he grabbed a ration bar from his personal supplies and took a bite. As usual, it was disgusting.
“Can’t do much but sit tight for now,” He said to himself. Luckily, the first wave of troopers wouldn’t be too far behind.

Retha Unin — Capital of the Durzanian Empire
Early Morning, January 3rd.

High Emperor Davin Dhumesdae II was worried. The peace that his father had spent his life working to establish and maintain was put at risk by the catastrophes happening in the west. It was a shame. Peace was something that the Emperor actually liked. After all, why would you waste your own soldiers lives when diplomacy often proved to be more effective.
Still, He thought, even though my father’s peace was disturbed, that doesn’t mean that I well let this go to waste. I may be able to spin the situation to my advantage if I play my cards right.
The Emperor was roused from his thoughts when there was a knock at the door.
“Yes?” Davin inquired.
“The morning report came in, your majesty.”
“Very well then, I’ll read it.”
A short Paige shuffled in, hastily handed him a Tablet, and scurried out without another sound. The Emperor tapped the screen a few times, reading through the report.
“Hmmm… OSTs determined Azure City may be worse off than initially thought, first IAD troopers set to arrive this morning. May need at least an estimated total of 5000 troops to fully secure the city and surrounding areas…”
The Emperor quickly made a note to deploy at most an additional 1500 troops to Azure City, with another 2000 to be held in reserve for rapid deployment, before continuing to read the report.
“Reports of citizens going missing along the frontier near the border with Stoklomolvi… Damn it. Its probably a group of those damn savages again. Will they not leave my people alone? I should probably reinforce the frontier to provide additional protection from marauding bands of raiders from the northeast.”
He made a note to send 5000 troops to to the frontier eastern frontier.
“Finally, an invitation to send two representatives to the Tongan States as part of an effort to form some kind of global diplomatic organization called the League of Solaria. This perks my curiosity, why not send a couple representatives.”
The emperor made a note to send two competent ambassadors to the Tongan States to find out just what they were up to.

Your Majesty, the 1200 IAD reinforcements you sent us arrived in the late afternoon, and we’ve received word that the additional reinforcements you have sent us will be arriving sometime today. To be honest, we were lucky we were able to enter the city in one peace. The citizens nearly mistook us for Jackania troopers. We announced we were on a relief mission sent by the Emperor, here to help reestablish order, and that we were authorized to help broker a peace deal between the rioters and the Jackania government. We said we’d be willing to insist that the citizens receive political representation in the government if they’d be willing to stand down, but that if anyone on either side raised so much as a finger against the other or us while we were here, then we wouldn’t hesitate to put a stop to it ourselves.
Thank goodness the soldier who was speaking for us was extremely intimidating and charismatic. I’m pretty sure if it weren’t for him, we’d be in a lot more trouble. At least now we managed to convince some of them that its worth trying to talk things out.

Anyway, those additional troops you are sending us will prove helpful. With 5000 or so men under my command, we should be able to flush the remaining terrorists out of the surrounding area no problem. Hopefully we can bring some stability to Jackania once more, and that it will be a much better place after we leave.

In response to the recent terrorist attacks in Jackania, Supreme Dominator Ellion Cirrus has commissioned a foreign aid settlement inside the border of Durzan. This will be responsible for foreign aid that carries a budget of 100 Million Swords. The bill is known as the Jackania Relief Commission. Also, this bill entails military troops to be deployed if necessary. Supreme Dominator Cirrus has reportedly called for a conference in Ares City for Jackania's leader, titled the " United Stability Conference"; no word on whether Jackania has agreed, however."

International News

The behemoth nation of Durzan has been seen sending military troops to Jackania. Although the troops are likely there to flush out the terrorists, the possibilty of an invasion is still present, considering the current vulnrebility of Jackania. This is not the only military operation occuring, as East Ares has sent more troops to the Crician Bay. This action, coupled with the recent productivity of East Aresian factories, may be the first steps of something else.

[New Min]

1 January, Year 1
Lenin Trotsky sits in his office, watching the news. He watches 'New Min TV', not because he likes the channel, but simply because it is the only news channel in New Min. He hears how great his cabinet is and he is satisfied. Then the door is being opened and his personal assistant, Mr Stalin, comes running into his office. "Mr Supreme Leader, you are needed in the War Room," he says, after which he quickly leaves. Lenin walks out of his office, is being surrounded by 15 bodyguards, and walks to the elevator. He enters the elevator with 10 of the 15 bodyguards and clicks on -16, the War Room. When he got down in the war room, all the people stand up, but he quickly tells them to sit. "What is going on?" he asks. "Civil riots have started They are attacking the Jackanian embassy. Military police are on their way."

An hour later the protestors attack the Martin Hotel, believing that Jackanian leaders are in this hotel. Police had difficulties getting to the hotel, but they managed to arrest the protestor. The Hotel has received money to restore the damage, but riots are still ongoing.

JLM Forces have invaded over the northern border and besieged several military compounds while also moving to take nearby towns and move into the northern city of Free Mill. Many asteroid mining colonies, situated in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, have reported increased collision activity from other asteroids in the area. The resulting damage to equipment and materiel in the area have forced the Stoklomolvi Commerce Commissariat to ask for increased resource output from the Stoklomolvi lunar manufacturing facilities. Increased numbers of resource shipments are being made from Earth to the moon.

Last year, space resources accounted for over a half of all raw resource production in Stoklomolvi, as terrestrial mining has proven difficult due to limited mining locations. It is hoped that within the decade, all raw resource production will be located beyond the limits of Earth. Increasing investment in the Stoklomolvi space programme by the Stoklomolvi Commerce Commissariat has also encouraged people to move to habitation units beyond Earth, as well.

Elín: Good evening Allyria, I'm Elín Maravirr and as per usual welcome to tonight's headlines on the 1st of March 1NE. Will the violence in other nations begin to die down? What's going on with Ras Valief, should we be concerned? Last but not least, the Allyrian elections: who has a fighting chance?

Elín: Firstly, let's talk about the instability evidently present in other nations. What we have seen unfolding over the past month is a series of civil disturbances in many minor nations which have grown into large-scale revolts overtime. Of course, we have had our own experiences with such revolts in the past and many are asking: "What will the Allyrian Government be doing about this?" To answer that question, we go now to Atheil Drottningu who's currently live from out Journalist Booth in the Magisterium.

Atheil: Thanks Elín. I'm here in the Allyrian Parliament and the atmosphere is tense. Parliament has just been dissolved by the King to prepare for elections and for the next month or so Allyria will not officially have an elected government during the election cycle so civil servants are assisting ministers in using their remaining hours left in their offices to prepare for the occasion.

Elín: That's all well and good Atheil and we'll come back to you on the topic of the elections later but our viewers wish to know if our government is going to respond to the situations in these foreign lands. After all, our government and is probably one of the most experienced with such matters considering we're been fighting an insurgency in the Tsai'ini isles on and off for the past 25 years?

Atheil: I hate to return to the topic but that will all be decided by the outcome of the elections. The leader of the current ruling coalition of the National Front and Right Party, Prime Minister Kristina Larathael, has, according to our sources in the Prime Minister's office, expressed a clear desire to meet with the President of the UCP to discuss a plan to further their influence and control over the situation in afflicted regions. However, it's unlikely she'd be willing to travel to the UCP in an official or unofficial capacity and so is most likely simply waiting for the President of the UCP to come to her. However, if we look at the plan proposed by the current Official Opposition, led by Katja Valrikji, then their plan is essentially non existent with them having said that Allyria should not waste its resources on conflicts which are not its own which seems to be a message which has gone down very well especially with undecided voters. However, on this matter there's not much more to say really other than Allyria's response will be very different depending on the type of government it elects.

Elín: Thanks Atheil. As of late, geologists have noticed a surge in geological activity in Allyria's tallest peak Ras Valief. However, what many ordinary Allyrians and foreigners aren't aware of is what Ras Valief actually is. Whilst the winding ski resorts which dot its slopes make for a great holiday, Ras Valief is actually a supervolcano with an eruption cycle which takes 500,000 years to complete, however, geologists in the area have recently identified that its most recent eruption was supposed to have occurred 250,000 years ago but it never did meaning that Ras Valief is long overdue. Of course, this could lead to two very different outcomes. The first, and best outcome, is that the Volcano has begun to become dormant. The second, and much more likely, scenario is that the volcano is actually a ticking timebomb and the recent discovery by geologists that the magma chambers underneath the volcano are still filling up as well as recent tremors indicate this. However, even if this scenario is the case Allyria is more than ready to respond to any and all geological disasters and are well experienced in doing so, supervolcano or not, so there's little reason for us to worry too much.

Elín: However, we now return to the topic of this year's upcoming parliamentary elections and for that we must return to Atheil in Parliament.

Atheil: Thanks again Elín. For the past 5 years Allyria has been governed by a coalition between Prime Minister Kristina Larathael's National Front party and Halfdan Stavanger's Right Party. However, despite the coalitions' relative popularity compared to those previous, they have suffered a dip in popularity as of late due to the failure to react to international situations which seems to have benefitted the official opposition.

Of course, looking at that infographic based on the current poll numbers we can see that neither potential government have the numbers in Parliament to form a working majority which means one of three things. Firstly, one of the coalitions could simply form a minority government and see if they can pass a vote of no confidence. Secondly, the military could use their parliamentary seats, guaranteed by the constitution, to support a potential government, however, this is only likely to occur with a nationalist-led government as looking at the voting record of military members their votes tend to align with the national front party. The third and final option is a deal with the current alternative opposition led by Ole Vvjalkari whose party, by looking at the latest polls, has seen a 12 point increase in popularity as you can see here

However, these numbers would only matter if the votes were counted nationally however under the new system the provinces each have more power with each province proportionally electing a certain amount of seats based on their population. Take the province of Skjallije for example, a very nationalist province, who have roughly 80 seats in the new Parliament. Under the current poll numbers, the nationalists are expected to win around 60% of the vote in Skjallije which would earn them 48 seats in the national parliament and give them not only parliamentary control of the province but control of the local government. This election's new system is going to provide us with a very new look on parliament but also on the campaign as a whole as what we're going to see more and more, especially after the first debate, is politicians going to these smaller towns and regions to scrape every local vote they can. It's going to be an interesting month Elín, that's for sure.

February 2nd, Year 1 NE

After weeks of silence and inaction, Joseph Sampson himself sprang into action, suddenly appearing in public after spending weeks cloistered up in his palace without taking or sending any messages. With the JLM militia at most a week away from the Capital, the dictator sprung into action and hurried to rally the military.

Despite the fact that the Durzanian Peace Corps had tried to maintain their neutrality on humanitarian grounds, the dictator insisted that the Durzanian military deliver on their promised aid in helping to flush out the terrorists or he would revoke his invitation for them to give relief and help maintain order in the capital. The Durzanian military reluctantly agreed, but only upon two conditions:

1. Joseph Sampson would seek to initiate democratic forms into his regime effective ASAP, and would seek to provide his people more civil and political liberties in the near future.
2. Durzanian troops are allowed to attempt to negotiate a cease fire with the JLM, and if fighting would break out between the two forces, they would be allowed to care for the wounded on both sides.

February 5th, Year 1 NE

2000 troops was deployed to each front alongside the Jackanian Military. Durzanian troops failed to negotiate a cease fire. The JLM opened fire, and battles sprung up like wildfire. A total of 278 Durzanian soldiers were killed, 157 wounded. Eventually the Jackanian military was able to force the enemy to retreat on both fronts.

Joseph Sampson holds a private banquet for his generals and top regime staff. He is allegedly reported making a statement that implies that the democratic reforms Durzan requested will only be for show and states that he has the Durzanian Peace Corps wrapped around his fingers. This rumor is leaked by an unknown source within the government and it spreads among the populace.

Night of February 8th, Year 1 NE

An angry mob of citizens and former Jackanian soldiers are somehow let into the palace grounds. They storm into the palace itself, overwhelm the guards and brutally beat the president to death. Former regime members blame the DPC Garrison in Azure City for letting a mob get out of hand so close to the palace, and imply that the soldiers "looked the other way."

There has been a power struggle within the capital since the death of the dictator, but Durzanian Troops have managed to mostly maintain order and keep the peace. The Democratic Union, a cell of pro-democracy reformers that had infiltrated the Regime, comes out into the open and begins the process of drafting a constitution. It is suspected that they were the ones behind the organizing of the mob that committed the Assassination.

To the Newly Established democratic government of Jackania, Greetings.

On behalf of the people of the Empire, I hereby officially recognize your government as legitimate, and also extend my congratulations for the liberation of your people. I hope that this shall prove to be start of a beautiful friendship between our two peoples, and that trade will prosper between both.

Furthermore, to help cement this friendship, I propose the following...

...An economic and military Alliance, with the following terms serving as a baseline:

• This Alliance shall be known as the Imperial Alliance of Solaria (or the IAS; some may shorten the name to the Imperial Alliance, or even just the Alliance). The purpose of this alliance is to establish a strong bond between the peoples of these nations, provide for a common defense, establish a unified economy, and to protect the economic and military interests of all member nations.
• Durzan, Jackania, and all member nations of this Alliance will open up and establish official trade relations with one another. The establishment and sharing of a single currency will be on the table for negotiation, as an optional addendum.
• Durzan, Jackania, and all member nations of this Alliance will establish and uphold a mutual defense treaty.
• Durzan will grant all corporations based within a member nation economic access to Phoenix Space Station and its mining ships.
• All member nations shall not declare enmity against one another, nor declare war, nor wage war in any form against one another (save it be in mock battles or joint training exercises). Furthermore, all member nations will support the common economic and military interests of all member nations.
• All member nations shall unrestrictedly allow the free transport of troops and supplies belonging to any other member nation within their borders, airspace, and territorial waters... provided that the transporting member nation officially notifies the nation's government and gives a reasonable explanation why. Joint military bases shall be established in all member nations.
• Durzan and other member nations will help to build up the strength of other member nation's military. They may do this by helping to train their troops, sharing a portion of their technological research, and by performing joint military drills on a yearly basis.
• Should any member nations (and the government) determine of their own free will that they wish to have representation in the Imperial Government, Durzan must offer to annex that nation into the Empire as an independent state. If the offer is willingly accepted, Durzan will leave their current government, culture, and laws mostly in place (although said nation must be willing to alter their own laws to be in line with Imperial law, and must swear undying loyalty to the High Emperor), grant the entirety of that nation democratic representation proportional to its total population in the Imperial Parliament, receive a single seat in the Imperial Senate (Senators are appointed by the state), and the citizens of the member nation would become official citizens of the Empire, with all the benefits that brings. Imperial Citizens have the right to Life, Liberty, Property, and Persuit of Happiness, and cannot be deprived of any save it be in a fair court of law (trial by jury may be requested by the citizen). They would gain the right to vote and run for office in Durzanian national and local elections and would also receive the special right to petition the Emperor directly; or otherwise stand before him and the Imperial Supreme Court in order to appeal a crime, settle a dispute, or receive a just ruling on Imperial Law. Doing this means giving up a portion of that member nation's sovereignty, but allows the Durzanian empire to employ its full might in protecting the interests of its territories and peoples.
• This Alliance may be willingly entered into by any other nation that is willing to accept and uphold these common terms. Said nation must also not have declared war on a member of this Alliance within the Last 5 years, mustn't have official enmity with any member nation, and that is willing to publicly declare and uphold bonds of friendship with all other members of said Alliance. Members of the Alliance may accept said nation as a member upon a simple majority vote (with each nation getting 1 vote). Members of the Alliance may choose to waive one or more of the requirements for a nation to join upon a unanimous vote.
• A nation may only be forcibly removed from this alliance by a 3/4ths majority vote and upon establishing legitimate cause for doing so.
• This Alliance may only be dissolved upon a 3/4ths majority vote of all official member nations.

The terms are of course, are open to negotiation and approval of both nations. Once established, we can publicly declare the establishment of the Imperial Alliance and invite other nations to join as well.

Two large material synthesis complexes opened near Chunhu

General purpose manufacturing facilities constructed as planned

The Stoklomolvi Liaoist Federation Land and Resources Commissariat has completed a pair of large fully automated material synthesis facilities outside Chunhu last month and have begun operations recently, marking the completion of the current economic phase for one of the many industrial districts in the city. While the Stoklomolvi Commerce Commissariat has not released any information with regards to what the facilities will be producing, it is likely that part of their output will be directed towards the Stoklomolvi space industry.

The new facilities, like all material synthesis facilities, will be using standard Stoklomolvi atomic assembly technology. Due to the lack of human labour involved in the manufacturing processes, the facilities are unlit. Materials refining and goods manufacturing will not be taking place at these particular facilities, as those processes fall under the purview of multiple other Stoklomolvi Commissariats under the Stoklomolvi Commerce Commissariat.
