I Killed A Man Just To Watch Him Die (Open MT)

Postby Londim » Sun Apr 04, 2010 8:04 am

The body lay in the middle of the room with blod flowing from the fresh wound. The moon shone in through the high window, casting a pale glow on everything it touched. On a chair near the body a man had his head in his hands, sobbing to himself. A small dagger lay by his feet. This man's name was Marcus Resantole.

Emperor Marcus Resantole.

The man who lay before him, was Bryan Welshane. Congress Leader Bryan Welshane.

"What have I done? What have I done?!" cried Marcus into the pale room, with only the moon to hear his words. Palace security would have heard the commotion and would arrive in less than a minute. Marcus stared at the clock and watched the seconds tick past, each one seeming to last an age. He counted down to when the door would burst open and his guards would become witness to the scene. Right on cue light from the corridor flooded the room and Marcus could see the shadows of the guards on the ground.

"Emperor...*gasp* May the Tribes guide us! What have you done?" shouted one of the guards. Marcus looked into the eyes of the guard and the guard looked back, either not willing to break eye contact. It was Marcus who showed weakness first.

"Arrest the Emperor." ordered a Guard.

=============================================

"Live at 10. It's the Londim News Network."

"Hello. I am Fred Hourno and this is the Londim News Network. Our top headline tonight. Murder in the Palace!" (pause)

"LNN has received word that Bryan Welshane, Leader of the Londim Congress, was found dead today in the Emperor's Palace. The suspect of the murder is none other than our own Emperor, Marcus Resantole. The news comes as a shock to the whole nation as we are left without a ruler or a Congress Leader. Congress has been given full power, while the situation is assessed.

Bryan Welshane was the recent Congress Leader elect, having won a landslide victory in the elections. He was a popular figure among peers and the public, his spearheading of the campaign to improve financial and medical treatment for veterans was welcomed by the majority of the public. It had been believed that the Emperor and Bryan Welshane had a great friendship...We now go live to a conference being held by the Imperial Guard Leader, Andery Geta."

(Cut to Conference.)

"Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Today our nation was rocked by a crisis none of us thought possible. Our Emperor, who had done so much to improve the nation, has been arrested for murder. Now, due to the fact that this crime and the following trial will be so politically charged and so personal to all Londimians, my colleagues and I have decided to contact nations who will hold the trial in their territory. Our nation was based on fair treatment for all and due to this nature, we believe having the trial held in a neutral nation, overseen by a neutral judge and jury, will be the best way for this criminal case to be solved. If any national representative is watching and would assist in this request then please contact myself or the Imperial Guard Headquarters.

Thank you for your time."

(Cut back to studio.)

"A remarkable turn of events. The Imperial Guards are looking for a neutral nation to hold the trial of Emperor Marcus Resantole. In other news, Congress..."
YES. I have returned.

"We got something we seriously need to discuss gentlemen," stated Woff firmly as the other members of the Council turn from the man who gave the last report and then turned to Woff. The mood was quiet. Some knew of the event that he was about to talk about but more didn't bother watching the early news bulletins from around the news. "If you remember right, we had a plan to supply a formation in Londim or better known as the PIT, with military hardware in the lines of rifles, shotguns, SMG's, pistols etc. We do not hold any relations with the country and we're not allied with them," explained Woff as several nodded with interest. "Therefore, I suggest that we put the Vamperial Kingdom forward as a netural nation for the trails,"

"Why are we even going to bother with this?" questioned Jian as he sat back comfortably.

"Trust, respect and influence for other nations," answered Woff.

"If we do go with the plan," started Lee King while some turned to him. "Would he be put forward to a military court?"

"No," replied Woff as he sat back. "We're going to treat this like we would do with our own monarch should they ever murder. The Council will be the judge and jury before a court. His majesty would have little worries about this so I believe we can do it without contacting him. Nevertheless, I will send off the report before we send the telegram. Anything else?" he asked as the other's shake their heads in response. "Right let's do it," he smiled before turning to Sherman. "One last thing, Sherman, if we're allowed, can you send a squad to check out the scene and makes an investigation with an arbitor?" he asked as Sherman nodded in reply.

RE: Netural Judges

It saddens to hear that the Imperial Monarch has conducted murder against his Congress Leader. However, justice must be done and no-one is above the law. I cannot express what it must feel like to have your leader murder. Nevertheless, I would like to put forward a purposal.

1) We would like to put the Vamperial Kingdom down as a name to conduct the trail. If so, the Emperor will be imprisoned in Lynion and he will be put forward before the Vamperial Council like we would do with our own kind. Our system is fair and we would allow the Emperor to serve his time in any Londim prison you see fit.

2) If we are allowed to condcut the trails, I would like to send a squad of detectives to inspect the scene and ask questions to help out with the trail. They'll be under escort but I hope it can be allowed.

If desire, you may send diplomats to greet the Vamperial Council and ask any questions that you may have on your mind. I hope something can be settled out. I will express now that we don't enforce the death sentence in our kingdom.

May God save us all.
"Indeed" Merlin replied, remaining in shadow "Emotions give people more power than they could possibly image. Emotions can turn the tide of battles with a single heroic act, help beat back even the strongest enemy. Emotions are what keeps us going in our hour of need. Hope, and trust in our friends. What Rathma did, he did because he had emotions, not because he had a lack of them"

Imperial Guard HQ

Imperial Guard Leader Andrey Geta looked at the letter from the Vamperial Kingdom of Lynion. The name was familiar to him. It had appeared numerous times in the documents and files of the former agency known as The PIT, which had since been disbanded due to fears of international disagreements. Officially Lynion and Londim had no diplomatic ties and no one outside the former PIT or the Imperial Guards knew of the unofficial link.

Andrey replied.

TO: Vamperial Kingdom of Lynion, Vamperial Order Council
From: Andrey Geta, Imperial Guard Leader

It is with interest I read your letter and the nation you represent, which has been made familiar to me over recent months. We, Imperial Guards, know of the link you had with the former agency known as The PIT. To make things clear, The PIT no longer exists and officially, it never did.

I am filled with a great sorrow, losing 2 intelligent and spirited men. I talk of the murdered Bryan Welshane and the loss of the mind of the man I call my Emperor. We will only know in time why he did what he did but for now, the Emperor remains in a state of shock and silence. Due to my belief of yours being an honourable nation, you shall be at the top of the list of where the trial will be held. However I cannot make any official announcement until all applications have been checked.

As to your requests, these will be discussed in detail should your nation be chosen for the trial location.

I thank you for your patience.

Andrey looked at the next application. Just 9 words, from a nation called Polska. No official stamp, no official name and the Londim records showed next to no files on Polska. However a reply had to be made.

TO: Polska
From: Andrey Geta, Imperial Guard Leader

We would be glad to consider your application but we can only do this with information about your nation such as your government type, your national leader and why you believe you should hold this trial.
